Thank you Shimfe. I have read your post elsewhere in reply to "seun ban me"! It was a great one. As things are, payment may not be effected until late this year or early next year unless miracle occurs. Senior officials of Commandalem led by their boss, Prof Uwemedimo, worked round the clock for almost three consecutive weeks outside their respective stations during their negotiatins with Mobil. One of the officials revealed that the due process which they had to follow which was not envisaged, prolonged matters. Up till the time of sending this Post, Comandclem has not confirmed the receipt of cheque from Mobil. Establishment of a new bank is also not as fast as opening a bank account. Even if Comandclem will acquire an existing bank, it will still take some time to complete necessary steps and requirements before commencement of operation. Meanwhile, what I think Comandclem should do now is to ensure that very soon, all patentees, wherever they are, should be able to check their names and registration numbers on the internet. This will afford them the opportunity to lodge complaints and make necessary corrections before Bank Accounts are opened for them by Comandclem. OMOKEMESI |
Seunbanme, thank you for your post. I did not want to react sharply to your earlier post. That was why I just posted biblical quotation on Sunday! Please, don't be annoyed sir. But at over 64 years, I have nothing to gain by feeding patentees and others with falsehood. By asking me for Deacon Akpan's number to confirm my report, it means you have already doubted my integrity. The fairest comment should have been to say that you would contact Mobil for confirmation. I said in my report that Deacon Akpan "told me" and you still insist on confirming from him if he actually told me what I reported. What then is wrong with my biblical quotation about Thomas? In any event, as a patentee since 2007, I advise you to keep yourself updated by searching for these topics: "Should Prof Uwemedimo be given National Award?" and "Prof Uwemedimo speaks on payment to patentees." After reading the comments and latest about Comandclem, you can come back here to post your impression. I cannot publish Deacon Akpan's number without his permission. Thousands of Patentees will continue to disturb the ever busy man while hundreds of idle others will be flashing the number just for fun. Now, seunbanme, let cast this joke with you: one of the rules Nairalanders must read before posting on the Forum says: "please, use standard, proper and clear English at all times when publicly discussing topics on the Naira Forum. You started your last post with pidgin English which you also forgot to polish. And you know that the owner of Nairaland bears Seun. When I broke your Username, "Seunbanme" into three, read what I got: "Seun ban me". Seun of Nairaland will not ban you. But let us obey the rules. Cheers! OMOKEMESI |
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "we have seen the Lord," But he said to them, "unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in His side, I will not believe." Eight days later, His disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them and said: "Peace be with you. " Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see My hands; and put out your hand and place in My side; do not be faithless, but believing." (John 20: 24-27 RSV) OMOKEMESI |
COMANDCLEM LATEST: Mobil has now agreed to pay Royalties of well over two dollars per barrel to Comandclem Nigeria Limited for using the invention of the Company's boss, Prof King Clement Uwemedimo, based on 1999 production. The Coordinator of Comandclem's International Relations and Publicity, Deacon J. Akpan, told me on Saturday (August 7, 2010) that arrangements were in top gear to establish a Bank through which all Patentees would be paid. He disclosed that apart from Mobil, Comandclem has identified about 500 other companies in Nigeria using the Special Anti Corrosive Paint invented by Prof Uwemedimo in 1980. He got patent right for this invention from Nigeria's Federal Government on August 5, 1999. Deacon Akpan also revealed that Comandclem had special programmes for Niger Delta Area and declared: "when implemented, there will be an end to militancy and restiveness in the area forever." COMANDCLEM LATEST The Chairman of Comandclem Nigeria Limited, Prof. King Clement Uwemedimo, has assured all Comandclem Patentees that they would soon smile. "Before January or early part of next year, we shall be smiling," he declared. Prof. Uwemedimo gave the assurance from Abuja on Saturday (July 24, 2010), while contributing to the Comandclem weekly live programme on Gateway Radio, Abeokuta, Ogun State. |
One day, I stumbled upon some receipts issued to me by block makers when God gave me the grace to build a house in 1981. I felt highly disturbed and extremely sad. "A 9-inch cement block for 80 Kobo? What is our offence in this country? Why the staggering difference now, oh God!," I lamented. The same size of the block I bought for that amount sells for 120 Naira somewhere in Ibadan! I still recollect that before I paid for the blocks I used to lift one and drop it to confirm the quality. Which block maker will allow you to perform such test today? Pondering over the genesis of hyper inflation in Nigeria, I noticed that 90% of the causes emerged from unfriendly exchnge rates and our persistent preference for imported goods. When I bought those blocks in 1981, a Dollar was exchanged for less than 60 Kobo. Gradually, the economic situation of the country moved in reverse order, depreciating our currency while inflation galloped as if running a 100-metre-race. Today, through the efforts of those at the Central Bank of Nigeria, the exchange rate seems to be hovering around 150 Naira to a Dollar. I still consider this exchange rate quite uncomfortable. What measures can those in authority in particular and Nigerians in general adopt that the Dollar will not be exchanged above 50 Naira? Where are the Economics profesors? Where are the Finance gurus? No more possible in Nigeria? Omokemesi |
Representatives of several ethnic groups in Nigeria have recently been visiting the National Assembly with the same mission - creation of more States. The demand for more States cut across the six geopolitical zones of the Federation. The tempo of the clamour has increased now because of the people's desire to secure their new States before 2011 elections. When do you suggest more States be created - before or after the 2011 elections? Why? Omokemesi |
Thank you, Acidosis, for your post. I quite agree with you that Octopus Gabriel's prediction was hasty which, according to you, should be doubted. Your reaction has spurred me to rush to Octopus Gabriel again. I Will keep you posted soonest. Meanwhile, have you heard the news? That a governor of one of the South West States was reported to have said he would not be able to pay the new wage increase in his State. If he is to be forced by law to implement it without any form of assistance from the Federal Government, what do you think will happen to some of his workers.? Omokemesi |
On October 1, this year, Nigeria will be 50 years old as an independent nation. Series of activities have been mapped out to celebrate the golden jubilee with pomp and pageantry. On October 1, our humble President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, will, expectedly, address the nation on radio and television networks. He will definitely address us in our borrowed language - english - which we adopted since our colonization. I now begin to wonder. Is the problem of choosing one of our three main languages as our lingua franca unsurmountable? Did we even consider this during the review of the constitution? Can't we choose one through a free and fair referendum? I believe that this could be done and vigorously pursued for implementation within 10 years. What is your contribution? Omokemesi |
The new minimum wage of 17,000 naira approved by the Federal Goverment is quite inadequate and demoralising. This is because the wives of those to earn this pittance will buy from the same market with those to earn over 450,000 naira per month. Worse still, most of those to earn the minimum wage have more children to cater for. Don't say whose fault. So sad about this situation, I planned to stage a one-man demonstration to call for a further 300% increase as minimum wage and to give my support to the new wage law. The law, if enforced, will prescribe 6 months jail term for employer who fails to obey the minimum wage law. I decided to consult my inner oracle, Octopus Gabriel of Nigeria, to predict the after effect of this law. Behold, I received a shocker! Octopus Gabriel declared: "the 17,000 naira per month which all of you are claiming is too inadequate cannot be paid by all employers in Nigeria. There will be shut down of many companies currently battling with unpaid bank loans caused by worldwide economic recession and homemade problems. The population of the unemployed will increase astronomically. Companies that want to stay afloat will reduce their staff strength while others will shut down outrightly." Will Octopus Gabriel's prediction come to pass? Who wants to go to jail even for one day for helping the government to reduce unemployment in Nigeria? - omokemesi |
I heard news report that government was introducing a new dimension towards finding a solution to the menace of kidnappers especially in the South East The government, according to the report, would engage the services of foreign security operatives to curb the activities of the kidnappers now spreading like dry season wild fire. My question: Can they be more effective than the involvement of Spiritualists/traditionalists? Which do you think the kidnappers will respect and forgive Nigerians? |
When two or more school children discuss, they will not deliberate on any topic or subject relating to their education. It will be on the latest home video or blue film they have just watched. Some will go to watch video at their boy friends' houses during school hours. At home, they sit down with their mothers or alone to watch video. Video, video all the time resulting in very poor exam result and conception at JSS CLASSES. What can we do to prevent home video from ruining the education and future of our children in Nigeria? |
Thank you for your nice post Shimfe. Most people in Nigeria do not realise that Prof King Uwemedimo of Comandclem is indeed an asset to the whole world apart from His fatherland. But Shimfe, you have said it all: "the problem we have is that a prophet is never accepted in his land/country." Do you believe if Prof. Uwemedimo was given required support by government and all royalties due to him on his invention since 1999 paid by infringers, the country would have changed for better. Prof Uwemedimo would have even instructed Comandclem to donate the controversial 10 billion naira earmarked for Nigeria's 50th Independence Anniversary by the Federal Government. What is mere 10 billion naira from billions of dollars? |
When I read on the internet the controversy generatd by Nigeria's Federal Government budget of 10 billion for the country's 50th Independence Anniversary, I grinned. What type of country is this? What kind of people are called Nigerians? For God's sake, how much is 10 billion naira to many Nigerians? How much is this amount in pound sterling and US dollars that some legislators were so enraged that they said Nigeria had nothing to show for 50 years of independence? They even forgot that the party through which most of them got to the National Assembly has controlled the Federal and State goverments for 11 of the 50 years of independence! Nigerians marvelled t the amount earmarked for the anniversary probably because most of them are enmeshed in abject poverty in the mist of plenty. The probm Omokemesi |

The problem with us is that most of us are selfish, incensitive and lack genuine love and concern for the plight of others. Tell me, where many Nigerians can not boast of three meals per day, is there no Nigerian who can conveniently offset the 10 billion naira 50th Independence Anniversary bill from the money 'honestly' acquired and 'honestly' kept abroad? What do you think were responsible for the lack luster performance in the last World Cup: age, wealth, over confidence, corruption, fear of injury, lack of patriotism, lack of encouragement, flair for women, fear of the future, untidy arrangements, outdated systems, frequent change of coaches, soccer administrators or what? |
I would have asked him the year Nigeria will conduct a free and fair election. |
Comandclem latest: An official of Comandclem Nigeria Ltd, Pastor Abimbola Salami, has again appealed to all Comandclem Patentees to be patient. He made the appeal on Ogun State radio station, 'Gateway Radio', on Saturday, july 10, 2010. Pastor Salami assured all Comandclem Patentees that all promises made by the Company would be fulfilled. He said this while commenting on the 30th Anniversary of the invention of a special anti corrosive paint by the Comandclem boss, Prof. Clement Uwemedimo, used by Mobil and other oil companies worldwide. Pastor Salami declared: 'Very soon, joy will be our portion.' My question now is Should Prof. Uwemedimo the inventor and boss of Comandclem be given National Award by President Goodluck this year for this 30-year-old invention? Omokemesi |

Thank you Bigsolo for requesting for my email for reasons stated by you. But my aim of posting latest information on comandclem is to benefit ALL PATENTEES and other interested visitors to Nigeria's unrivalled Forum - Nairaland. This is because I may not have enough time to reply all enquiries via email. And the little I am doing is free of charge to pass correct information to my co-PATENTEES. Thank you. OMOKEMESI |
From a reliable sourca, it was confirmed that Comandclem has not been paid. The source however disclosed that meaningful negotiation was going on between Comandclem and Mobil. Patentees will rejoice soon, according to the source closed to Comandclem. |

Bigsolo88 said he learnt Comandclem had been paid and wanted to know the latest. I learnt from a very reliable source that Comandclem yet to be paid by Mobil but serious negotiation continued between them. If it is true that the two are now negotiating on what to pay by Mobil it advisable patentees should exercise a little more patience. To those who think those who paid to become patentees are fools, I can't blame them much because they didn't do enough research on the history of Comandcleam. But whoever read the story where a court in Nigeria has just ruled that few communities in the Niger Delta area should be paid fifteen billion naira for what the oil company allegedly caused the people there about forty years ago would imagine what Comandclem Patentees are likely to enjoy very soon through Prof Uwemedimo's invention. That is why I am still asking: should Prof Uwemedimo of Comandclem be given Nigeria's National Award this year for his universally recognised and beneficial invention? OMOKEMESI |
I wish to refer to the comments made by both Great09 and Highq respectively on the above topic. It appears they did not consider well the exact purpose of the questions raised. It is the magnitude of the importance of Prof Uwemedimo's invention to Oil exploration and contribution to the world economy that was taken into consideration before asking if he actually deserved to be given a National Award. I think Comandclem spokesmen have said times without number that patentees would be paid when those who have been enjoying the invention start to pay the royalties that ought to have been paid Comandclem since 1999. Comandclem has won the case at the Appeal Court and I believe the best thing patentees and others should do now is to exercise patience. I also advise patentees who can listen to Gateway radio to tune in there on Saturdays at 11.30 am where people are enlightened about the latest about Comandcle, by one of the company's official. However, the fact that patentees are not yet paid has nothing to do with the invention and the inventor being given an Award for a seemingly indispensable discovery of Prof UWEMEDIMO. If Nigerian musicians and artists were among those given National Awards by the Federal Government in the past, why not a scientist and inventor of international fame and recognition? |
Every year, the Federal Government of Nigeria always honour many Prominent Citizens with National Awards of different categories in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their respective callings. Before the end of this year, it is expected that our President, DR. Goodluck Jonathan, will decorate another batch of achievers with Year 2010 National Awards from Member of the order of the Niger (MON) to Grand Commander of Federal Republic (GCFR). There is a prominent Nigerian Inventor of World repute, Prof. King Clement Adiamako Uwemedimo, the boss of Comandclem Nig. Ltd., whose invention for Oil exploration has been ringing bells worldwide. The Invention, Anti-corrosive Special Paint for Q.I.T (TRANSTEEL BLUE, WHITE ENAMEL, Q.A.D) invented in 1980, is believed to be the first and only enabling chemical used in the production of Crude oil, condensate, liquified natural gas and other allied products. The Federal Government of Nigeria gave Prof. Uwemedimo the Patent Right for the invention through the Non-convention Patent RP. 13522 issued to him on 5th August 1999. In December 2009, Nigeria's Court of Appeal ruled that Prof. King Uwemedimo was the true and statutory inventor of this all-important product. By this ruling, there is no more controversy over the ownership of the invention being enjoyed by oil companies and others world-wide. Prof. Uwemedimo even went to Ghana on Saturday, May 15, 2010, to receive an Award. My Question is, should Prof. Clement Uwemedimo, the genius who has earned a landmark reputation for Nigeria by this invention be given a National Award this year? Should this over 80 year old inventor be honoured by his Country while still alive? Should Nigeria wait until his demise only to appreciate him with Posthumous National Award? |
