EducationRe: Why Admission To Enter University In Nigeria Is Very Hard. by Omolulu(m): 8:51pm On Nov 07, 2010
Tunsbobo:
Admission into a Nigerian university is very hard because 1) Every Nigerian Youth thinks if he doesn't go to a university, then he is a failure( That is why u would see someone writing Jamb ten times, all in the name of gaining admission into a university, when he could easily get admitted into a polythecnic or a college of education with no stress). I will advise our Nigerian youths to start opting for Polythecnics and other relevant tetiary institutions other than wasting their valuable time trying to gain admission into a university. 2)The problem of gaining admission into a university is also due to 'Poor infrastruture and limited learning aids' which are essential as far as university education is concerned. An average university in Nigeria has the capability of admitting just 4000 students per session. If every university in Nigeria is properly upgraded to admit at least 10000 students per session, then i tell u without any iota of doubt or mixed feelings that our problems of 'admission' in this country would drastically reduce. Other reasons include, bad leadership, bribery and corruption, University politics and bad secondary schools amongst others. If we are able to tackle all the above problems efficiently, The problems of Admission into Nigerian University would be HISTORY.
Brother i dey feel ur point!

d reasons are given:1. d dorminance of private secondary schools who promote unqualified students at rapid rate.Normal protocore is no longa followed and lazy and unqualified student are now being registerd 4 waec where they use examinatn malpractises to pass dr exams thereby mounting pressure on d versities 4 admisions.d worst is d case where a traders who hav not cin d 4 walls of any primary and secondary schools wil pay private secodary schools so dat they get waec and jamb afta which add to d number seeking admisions into d universities.apart 4m d above dr is also rapid promotn of students in privt schools.until many private schools are closed,d situation wil worse.

Omo_Tier1:
Absolute nonsense! as someone who have lived in the UK for years, I have been involved in youth projects and taught A-Level students in the new city academies in the UK (even though teaching is not my rear of expertise), I can say without any doubt that Nigerian kids are better well behaved and manner in their formative years than those of the counter part in Britain! This is the problem we have with these British-Born Nigerians. They bring them to Nigeria to spend two wees or a month, they have one bad experience and the base their knowledge about Nigeria on the one ( and maybe) isolated experience.

The truth is, Nigeria has different type of societies, depending on which geo-political zone you live in. And even within that geo-political zone, the society is still fragmented. I could remember during my days in bording school, some dudes who have lived all of his life in posh island in lagos had never seen a live snake except on discovery channel! The dude fainted when He saw one climbing a wall close to the cashiers office! Again, the level of exposure of that dude and some other dudes like myself is completely different and yet we all live in Nigeria.
I happen to agree with this fact!

RETARDS, What a shame, Sanusi would not have tried
this rubbish if they was not a "So-Called" financial crises in "North America"
& "Europe", these guys are just "Monkey does what Monkey Sees",
They are not capable of an original thought,

Now thbey want to reform the Banking system ,
Break up banks operations, which would lead to more merger, acquistions and fold ups etc, following the line of FED,BOE,ECB tatics,
what a set of parrots!!!,

All these banker guys are most time a liability than an assest to most
nigerian businesses and Individuals,

A Nigerian cant get a loan/facility smoothly without hassles, but a non-nigerian get it like "Yesterday", Makes the profit from his export and
keeps most of the profit in his country of origin and only puts back the loan principle, interest and Overhead to run his business in Naija,

And the country wants to move forward when the Banking sector does not give
a toss about the Small/ Meduim sized Naija Businessman,

What a load of Bull!!!
DUDE SHUT THE F UP, U HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE LAW, APPEAL ON IBRU AND ERASTUS'S BEHALF, people like this pig move the country backards 10 times over

It took the india lady to run an impossible speed. What she did may not be possible. the nigeria was ahead in the first picture about 150 meters to the finish line. by nearly 6 meter. It is impossible.

The india lady may have been on drug. And there may have been a reason to try to shift the focus from the india ladys. This india ladys were suppose not to be not world class runners. Look at thier previous heat. The india could not have performed that way. Something happened. Consider the fact that india is a third countries.

And they could also have play around with the sample.
Really!!

There's something I would like to understand. Is there like a special feeling or gift if someone from your tribe is in the presidency? Case in point- these Northeners screaming for zoning.
Were the Yorubas any better during Obasanjo's tenure, or the North during Yaradua's?
Didn't we all suffer the same issues as Nigerians? Or was there a special gift like constant electricity or free education in the North when Yaradua was alive? Let me know now so I can begin to push an Igbo man for presidency.
So what the heck is it?
u hit the  nail on the head!
