Well, according to the client.. the painter submitted a list of what was needed for the job, say, 100 buckets of emulsion, 50 buckets of ...... for a total of xx buckets of paint.

So the client paid for the service, for the painter to both supply and hire painters to paint.

Just like @ michilins pointed out, the painter perhaps factored in the cost of the paint bucket when submitting his quote - who knows, but the client in my what's app group did say he factored in the cost he would resell the bucket prior to hiring the painter.

If the guy invited them to lunch with him in an expensive hotel only to run away after they're done eating, then he's not a "smart guy", he's just wicked. Those ladies wouldn't normally go to that hotel to eat cause they don't have the money. Why invite them to eat there and then run away after they're done eating? Washing toilet won't offset the hundreds of thousands debt they're owing the hotel. The best thing to do is to place them on house arrest in one of the empty rooms till they pay up their debt then they can be released.
