You are indeed fooled to take that assembly of touts with any pinch of salts. Presently, the SE are known as "expandable matrials" in Nigeria political arena. Until you grind your axe and wield a big political stick against any "potential symbiotic" alliance for greater bargaining power and benefits

Did you by any chance watched the summit on SNC which took place in Lagos or when Edwin Clark was jerking in Ekiti begging for political relevance?. . .When the jungle don mature the decision must be SW. Nuff said.
Keep telling yourself that.
Whatever helps you deal with the pain.

Welcome to Nairaland.

Today its hausas that hate them, tomorrow its Middle Belt, Next tommorow its Ikwerres, day after its Yorubas, next Calabar

If they dont see enemies, they create one
Nna stop dragging every single ethnicity into your crap.
Stick to the Yoruba and Hausa and leave Calabar, Ikwerres alone.
Have you seen or heard any Ikwerre or Calabar side with Yoruba about anything? Why can't yoruba ever fight Igbo face to face, must you always drag every ethnicity into your sh1t.

Even thread about Ikwerre, not once have I seen a reply from an Ikwerre but I've sure seen tons of replies by Yoruba and yoruba moniker ids. Stick to your people jor and stop being a corward by dragging every person be it chinese, latino, aliens, etc into any argument against one set of people.

Do we want to know who the slaves are:

In 1959 when the North wanted to tame the progressives under Awolowo they found a slave Balewa/Azikwe

In 1979 when the North wanted to tame the progressives under Awolowo they found a slave in Shagari/Ekwueme

In 1993 when the North wanted to tame the progressives under Abiola they found a slave in Tofa/Sylvester Ugo,

In 1994 when IBB wanted to tame the Progressive June 12 ambition they found Uche Chukumerije later Walter Ofonagoro

Between 2000-2007 When OBJ wanted to tame the progressive, he found his own slave in Frank Nweke Jr

Later Atiku found his own slave in Ben Obi and Soludo

You remember that my fave boy-boy picture
ROFLMFAO @ this reasoning.
Politicians working together equals slavery then the SW has more slaves than the entire eastern states combined.
Let's not forget there has been more SW politicians working together or in your case of reasoning "slaving" to their north masters than SE or SS.
grin grin grin grin grin

If you want to know what a real life slaves look like, read the entire post from each SW on this thread. To get more indebt, refer to any thread about north, read the entire reply from SW then compare it to the reply of SE, SS and in some cases MB members. The only set of Nigerians whom defend, kiss the @ss of the north is SOUTH WESTERN. In some threads where they (north) insult SW, very few, if not, none of SW member say or do anything. When every Nigerian group is running away and or fighting back against the North, the only people still sitting, waiting to be slaughtered by them is yet again SW. Una are slaves, though free, but the slave mentality is still there passed down from generation to generation.
PoliticsRe: Tribalist Statements Credited To One Of Our Founding Fathers- Sardauna by OneNaira6: 5:18am On Feb 22, 2012
This is why when SS, SE and MB came together in alliance, they excluded SW.

SW keep showing their true color. The slave mentality of SW na wa o!!!
Keep licking the boot of north while they still stomp you each day.
A slave will always be a slave even when free they say.

^^^^ topic
The north is underdeveloped, violent, backwards because of this reason.
Sarduana just proved my suspicious of north.
Actually he just proved my suspicious of Nigerians and its leaders

Dude Negro

Una will post any picture and think people would believe it? So this refugee camp, when did Igbo become muslims? and when did they start wearing muslim attire? and when did Nigeria become a desert? abeg dude, we all have eyes too.  try another propaganda picture and this time do some work if you going to be a bigot. This time follow the religion, region and attire of the community you want to propaganda against.
Also, stop chest beating with nothing to back it up. Constantly speaking of the West. Nobody is transferring to the west or even care to go there, all the returnee went East (SS and SE). Una are always trying to involve unaself in everything. Apart from lagos, where in the west do you see any eastern be it igbo, ijo, ibibio, etc go to? Abeg the yoruba here can get annoying.

As for topic, nna I no believe this one. Please with the amount of Igbo returning from the north, the Igbo population up north is probably below 5000. I am glad the leaders are taking out Igbo up north and returning them back home.  Nice work but this story get K-leg though.

Isn't it the family of the dead has the right to ban or unban a group from the burial of the dead.

Nigeria keeps making a fool of itself in the political system when compared to the rest of the world.

I wish we had Igbos in Ghana. I would have changed nationality a long time ago.
Me and you both. There were some Igbo slaves sent to Ghana whom never made it to the Atlantic ocean. I know some stayed but I'm unsure if they are still in Ghana but remain minority like they did in Cameroon and EQ or have they intermarried into the Ghanaian community and gone forever. I go change my nationality the next day if I found out their community are still there in Ghana even if they are minority I no care.

I think some are bold enough to do it but not all. I had an uncle that changed his nationality, he went from Nigeria to Ivory Coast and he's been there ever since. He's entire children, including him, claim Ivory coast as their nationality but they still call themselves Igbo. Zik's daughter changed hers to Gambia. One more person I know of is that American Igbo sisters that recently joined Yankee Nollywood, one is married to tuface brother, didn't they say their family is from Sierra Leone? Her family probably changed their nationality after Biafran war.

I don't blame them but I wouldn't want to go to a place I'm all alone.

@OP you don't deserve a response but I want to quickly say that there are several rivers and lagoons in this country for those who always hit their heads on the walls because of the Igbos or anything that concerned Igbos? Are you aware that Ikemba died a rightful billionaire? Find some work and get busy
That is what makes the story hilarious. You just spoiled the fun.
Bianca onoh whom family are also wealthy did not contribute to the burial?
His first son whom is a barrister did not contribute to the burial?
His second son whom is a doctor did not contribute to the burial?
All the Igbo leaders that visited Bianca did not leave anything for the family?

Just enjoy the story and laugh that's my take on it.

Nobody left Yoruba out, Yoruba put themselves in the mess they are in. Shikena.
sadly, Yoruba's aren't the only people that did this. SS, SW, MB, and to some tiny extent SE each have a hand in the problem they put themselves in.

I support the critique she gave of her people with an open mind and an open heart but don't accuse others for your own people's mistake.

I laugh in Nigeria
Why do Nigerians call oyinbo mumu's? There is no bigger mumu's in this world than Nigerians especially the Yoruba bigots on here.  grin grin grin grin  People that do not sabi Igbo culture should speak what they know abeg. Don't make a fool of yourself infront of Igbo thinking you know more about another man's community than that man.

In Igbo community, If you visit a widow of a deceased you have to contribute money, food, etc as much as you can to the window and the family of the deceased. This contribution goes to the burial and or the wake keep of the deceased.
When someone dies, the burden of the burial lays in the hand of the community he or she came from, not the family alone but the entire community. Now the saying that Nnewi people aren't contributing to the burial of Ojukwu get K-leg by itself. It actually just provided authenticity of the story, dalu to the bigot.  Chei, na insult on injury be this one. You are telling ndi-igbo our own culture. We can smell  A FAKE STORY from miles away from that line alone.
Lastly, the family of the deceased, not just his or her parents, children, etc but the entire family going far back as 28th cousin if they have to, contributes to the burial of the dead.
Seriously una watch Nollywood but yet una have not picked up anything about Igbo culture at all. Nollywood is not always the best place to pick up Igbo cultures because sometimes they mix it up but when it comes to the burial and wedding aspect they do a pretty good job.

Eko-ile thank you for providing the authenticity of the story. We thought it was fake, now we can confirm it is fake. On your quest to continue your bigotry, you shoot your self in the foot.
By the way, you'll still have not done what I asked.  Please kindly tell us which SW leaders SE leaders begged to help.  Fashola and whomelse? don't tell me you shoot yourself in the foot again due to your bigotry. Speak jor Since you know this vast knowledge of SE leaders begging and asking SW leaders for money, tell us the SE leaders and the SW leaders fast fast. List each state, list each leaders, list everything.

One more thing I just read an article of ojukwu burial happening in Niger where his own family aren't even present. In what Igbo community is that even accepted in? forget that one. In what Human community is that even accepted in? A deceased family not present in the burial of the deceased. Chie, Nigeria writers write anything and morons in Nigeria will believe it. ROFLMAO. Wait, for that article. It'll soon show up on Nairaland.

I laugh in Nigeria  grin grin grin grin

Olodo shut your mouth.

No be your leaders dey go all over the SW begging for help and money?
Back up it. Kindly tell us all this Igbo leaders begging SW for help and money.
List them one by one. List the Igbo leaders behind it, list the Yoruba leaders they asked for money and the state this yoruba leaders govern. Abeg, don't force unaselves on people that does not want your help. olodo.

They asked Fashola, one yoruba, to provide security and contribute a tiny bit on the Ikemba Day that was scheduled for Igbo's in Lagos.
Isn't it his job to safe guard people living within his city?
The money bit, he claimed he'll contribute but we aren't even sure if he did.
The only other contribution by him was pledging to provide transport for foreign dignitaries from lagos to enugu. Nobody asked him to do that either, na him volunteer to do that

Don't add salt in an already salted food especially when that salted food is online for everyone to see.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Friday hosted the National Funeral Committee of the Late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, pledging the support of the state government to the committee to ensure a befitting burial for the former military governor of the defunct Eastern Region.
Late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, who died in a London hospital in the early hours of Saturday, November 26, 2011, will be buried on February 30 after a 40 day funeral ceremony which will be held in various parts of the country including Lagos, Kano and Enugu between February 14 and 29, 2012.
Addressing members of the Committee led by its Deputy Chairman, Senator Uche Chukwumeruje, Fashola said his administration would be more than glad to do all that would guarantee a befitting burial for the late Ojukwu including providing venue and adequate security for the Ikemba Day scheduled to take place in Lagos on February 24, 2012.
The governor, who said the Late Ikemba Nnewi was as much a Lagosian as he was a Nigerian, also pledged to handle directly from his office the logistic challenges of transfer flights from Lagos to Enugu of foreign dignitaries for the final funeral event of the deceased on February 29, 2012.
Noting that he had earlier received official communication from the committee requesting him to send in a tribute, Governor Fashola promised that the activity would be coordinated directly from his office for adequate and effective execution, assuring that his team would be able to cope as long as it gets “reasonably sufficient notice on the arrival and departure times as well as names of guests”.
