PoliticsRe: Why President Goodluck Jonathan Is To Blame For The Insecurity In Nigeria by OneNaira6: 2:45pm On Dec 27, 2011
GEJ has some blame concerning Boko Haram but the blame is not solely on him. It is easy to blame GEJ but for those doing that, you need to ask yourself, How come we did not have a Boko Haram problem during Yaradua, IBB, etc regime? This is nothing but a task to keep the power towards the North (The election riot anyone?), it does not take a genius to realize this. For years, the North pushed for a Sharia Law Nigeria but yet it is recent after the election of a christian they turned extremely violent for such cause.

with out a doubt igbos are the originators of nigeria's modern problems!
we didnt know coups till the 5majors struck!

we didnt know tribal hate till the majors killed leaders from a particilar region!

we didnt know nepotism till ironsi made his 1st military appointments with eastern coloration!

we were federating units till the same ironsi opted for a unitary form of govt.

it was igbos in northern nigeria that taunted the hausa fulani praising nzeogwu for he's bravery!

these were the actions that formed the present suspicion and hate in nigeria now!
No doubt you do not know the history of Nigeria.  Prior to the coup, the was a progrom that targeted Igbo up North.  What was the death of those people if not tribalism?  What was their offense which resulted to their death if not for tribalism?  NIGERIA IS A TRABILISTIC COUNTRY SINCE DAY ONE ESPECIALLY THE NORTH.

Above is what a foreigner has to say. See the bolded about the so called war non entity

culled from a Igbo website

http://www.kwenu.com/biafra/adekunle_interview.htm
Adekunle was a coward that attacked civilians rather than soliders even the article mentioned he attacked non-igbo just incase there might be an igbo among them even though he knew none of them were igbo.  He's pathetic, weak and pitiful.  Anyway adekunle or no adekunle, yoruba had very little impact on the war.  I wondered why Yoruba were viewed as cowards all over Nigeria but now I understand. Una boast too much but yet having little to show.  Let people hear word jare.

Do you fail to recognize the fact, that it was the Hausa who were in control of your land.

There has never been any significant amount of Yorubas in the military. The only military presence in the Western Region at that time was of Northern and Middle Belt origin.

Your people are nonentities in the war.
Exactly. They had very little impact on the war but yet they are the ones constantly boasting about the war.

If I have to say It's been how many years we've asked for Niger bridge and yet nothing. Ndi-igbo we need to come together, unite together and try and assert how much it will cost to make such bridge if it well in our budget, we should just build it ourselves collectively as a group. That's my own two cents in the matter.
PoliticsRe: Musiwa see what Nigeria Govt Injustice Is Doing To School In Western Niger by OneNaira6: 1:06am On Dec 22, 2011
I don't get the line of argument musiwa trying to make. It is the job of the state government to provide decent school for each of their state, though yes the federal government has to help as well but it is more of the state government job. On top of that musiwa, the advice giving to you by nchara and others is accurate. Nigeria government can careless about its people so stop waiting on them to help us. The school posted by Ak47man was built by the state government with zero help from federal government rather they taxed citizen of Anambra to build such school. If we wait on Nigerian government, nothing will occur in that country and we all know this. Sometimes I wish Nigerians will open their mind well enough and copy some African-American community when it comes to dealing with marginalization.

What a fool! what a tree-top-hopping baboon!! what a mono-balled homosapien!!!

Mumu, I can read and I saw that was your statement.

First, let's clear something off the ground. . . . in fact I tell you what, forget about it. First of all, onye ochi for replying and telling me you wrote the statement. Then second. . . next time when you address you make certain you prefix "CHIEF" in front of my name. There will be consequences and repercussions and lamenting if your a s s dare call me Negro without prefixing Chief in front. Do you hear me? Ewu!

Now, let's talk about your response. If Anambra market is open and promoting to Igbo business, if Aba is welcoming and embracing of Igbo business, if Umuahia endorses and encourages Igbo business, if Ughelli is a buoyant platform for Igbo business, then. . . . . . .the recognition of the success and the acknowledgment of the expansion and ingenuity of Igbo entrepreneurship is equally borne by these many market localities.

Now, ragamuffin, tu comprehend? Replace umuhaia, aba, onitcha and put lagos, kaduna, kano. . . the statement and argument is globally valid.

Which of my assertions in that regard, seconded by both Chinenyen and the gorgeous Ify, did you find too complex to sink down?? Remeber to address me as Chief in your response, you rascal!! angry angry
NEGRO of course if you can't back what you claim, result to Insult. The usual Nairaland behavior of idiots. Your usual bigotry actual allows you to believe your statement above actually makes sense, whom am I to destroy your beautiful dream world. For your information the married Ify did not second your assertion but like I stated you'll put meaning in whatever you want to satisfy your ignorant beliefs. I've no interest anymore to engage in this inferiority complex some Yoruba display on Nairaland thus I'll let you wallow in your ignorance.

Negro_Ntns:
Who made this statement? I say who said the above statement huh angry SPEAK UP!! angry

You all should reflect deeply about what Ify said: it dovetails directly into what I asserted. So does Chinenye's response.
What will you do? I, ONE_NAIRA, MADE THE ABOVE STATEMENT as stated when I made the actual remark or can you not see my name next to the remark.

What ify wrote does not assert to what you wrote. It more of a contradiction of what you wrote but I guess you saw what you wanted to see. To specify more if you compare and contrast the Igbo business in Onticha, Asaba, Nnewi, Aba or even Enugu to the business in Lagos or outside of Igbo land, those back home are thriving more than those outside of home especially Anambraians which in respect contradicts with your belief that without Hausa land or Lagos Igbo business wouldn't thrive. Even that assertion has no basis due to history. Prior to the Igbo introduction to Yoruba or Hausa, they were known and documented as Business minded along with Ibibio, Benin and Ijo such behavior created Onticha, Igwe Ocha and Nsukka. On top of that, the Igbo in Lagos, the North and in Igbo land are pushing for Biafra, of course that shows you how much they believe they can thrive with or without such region to migrate to when competition become unbearable in Igbo land. For your information, people migrate to region where there is little to no competition especially if that region has potential but the indigenes aren't taken advantage of such potential hence the reason behind Asians, Europeans and Lebanese are all over Africa despite their region being a more advanced area than ours; Its simple business 101. People expand their business in areas with little to zero competition with great untapped potential, the vice versa can also be applied to this assertion. There's a saying in my hometown which goes like this, If you can't make it in Asaba, try Onticha, if you can't make it Onticha, try other Anambra region, If you can't make it in Anambra, try PH, if you can't make it in PH, try Enugu, If you can't make it in Enugu, try Imo, if you can't make it Imo, try other Igbo land region even areas with little potential, if you still can't make it any Igbo land, then try Lagos, if you can't make it Lagos, then try the North, if you can't make it in the North then you are useless. To put in a greater aspect the saying translates to if you can't make it in an area with a lot of competition (Igbo land), try an area with moderate competition (Lagos), if you can't make it in an area with moderate competition then try an area with very little competition (north) if you still can't make it then you are a disgrace to our people.

Personally I would love for the Yoruba in Lagos to start outdoing the Igbo in Lagos maybe then we can hear word on NL. I've yet to read a thread with interesting topic without the usual "You are thriving because you are in my region despite Lagos being the only region Igbo are in Yoruba land" stupidity some spew. I would love for once to read a topic similar to this without someone such as you destroying the topic even before it starts. Out-do the Igbo in Lagos so we can hear word so far all its showing is fake chest-beating with very little to show and such behavior is tiresome.

Awesome thread.

This is fantastic.  I love our cultures!  I have always said no matter what's going on with me, I will be sure to make sure to give birth in Naija.  Forget about all that trying to have your baby in America for citizenship nonsense.  I want my babies (twins, i hope) to be born on our soil.  Now, with all these reminiscing about traditional celebrations that accompany the birth ot a new baby, I not only want to go to Naija for the delivery, I want to go to the village.  lol,  Except I am omo Eko proper.  What village?  cheesy  It will still be nice sha.

Andre, good job on the thread.  I like you better this way, when you're not fighting.  wink

To the poster that made the comment about male children, it is almost all cultures that are like that.  Yes!  Surprise Surprise!  Even "western" ones.  It just depends on the family sometimes.
I propose the same belief. I love African culture especially Igbo culture. This thread just made me eager to get married and have my own child.

This is how people are suppose to be. No offense to you but being loud and blunt can be annoying to majority of people, maybe that's why they don't get you. Nigerians are very loud and obnoxious group so such behavior would not affect a Nigerian. I will not advise you to change yourself but acting less Nigerian might help.
