Hi, enter the pool. Ontario does health draws and they take pharmacists. AdwoaBee: Hiiii everyone I’m new here.I have some few questions I am a newly qualified pharmacist from Ghana and I want to relocate using the express entry route.Do I stand a chance of getting it even though I don’t have experience (I only have 1 year experience of working for the government) Can that be used to show work experience? I need your input about how to go about my application so I can actually relocate through express entry.Or should I wait and gain experience before entering the express entry? I’m turning 26 this year…Please help 🙏🙏 1 Like |

Good day all, we just got into Edmonton a week ago and we are really in need of a job. Any tips on what to do differently? We have adjusted our resume to canada standard. We are in licensed profession so we just need any job pending when we are done with the licensing process. Thanks a lot for your feedback affoncad: A group representing 150 of Canada's fastest growing and most promising technology companies wants the federal government to pilot a new visa stream allowing high-skilled tech workers to enter the country without a job offer. "There's over 200,000 positions in the tech space that are not being filled in Canada," said Benjamin Bergen, the council's president. On Tuesday, Facebook owner Meta announced it would hire 2,500 over the next five years with many working remotely.

It's much better you save in usd as it will guide against fluctuations. It doesn't matter what currency you are saving in provided it meets the required amount. MNTS0: Hi guys!
Regarding POF, which option do you think is better?
Saving in NGN or USD (dom account)?
I'm asking because I'm currently saving in USD and this is what I noticed when I checked the exchange rate on IRCC website;
POF for a single person = CAD13,213 and following the exchange rate on their website (#329/CAD), its roughly #4,320,000.
But if you're saving in USD, then you'll need to have USD 10,545. If you convert that to NGN, it's a little over #5,000,000.
Maybe actually converting the naira to CAD at that 329 rate when you arrive Canada won't be possible?
Please advise, which one is better?
Thanks! 1 Like |

Yeah you can fill both in but the rep position will be under personal history because you have to account for every time period. Make sure your job description tallies with the noc description. I don't know how to use nairaland really so could you include your mail. Hey111:
Thanks Chief! Please my question is, do I need to add the current medical representative job as part of work experience? The last Hospital job was 2019 (3 years). Do I need to add the current Job from 2019 to date on the express entry profile or just fill in the three years Hospital experience ? |

Hi, medical rep. is not under noc for pharmacists. Mine was like yours too but was community so I claimed points for that and put the repping job in personal history because the salary was going to reflect in my statement of account. So claim points with the 3 years hospital job Hey111: Please Seniors, for a Pharmacist who has done ECA with PEBC and has had 3 years of experience in a hospital setting, but working currently as a medical representative for about 18 months now. In filling the work experience on the express entry profile, is it okay to add the medical representative job since pharmacy license is not required to work as one? Your detailed answers would be highly appreciated. 1 Like |

Hello, I am a pharmacist using the EE pathway. Pharmacists do not really get pnp because you can't practice unless you take the licensing examination. It's on the excluded occupations in saskatcewan pnp. To practice as a pharmacist in canada you have to evaluate with pebc. Abdulyakeen: Hello,
I am a Pharmacist 34yrs with band 7 1. (R5.5 L7.5 W7.5 S7.5)
2. (R6.5,W6,L7.5,S7.5)
Please guide me on the necessary steps for PNP. Currently having a family of 3
Please every detail especially cost of each step will be helpful.

Job prospects is not all that good for new Pharmacists entering into the system. Those trained in Canada have better chances though as they build strong networks through intern positions. This has been the case for the past 3 years or so.
If you decide to stay in a big city to start off your career, you could get locum or casual hours for a while. If you are very lucky, you may be able to secure a full time position from some of those locum roles. To easily secure full time positions, you may have to move to rural locations where you can build your experience, then start applying to jobs in cities from there. This applies to all provinces. I am a pharmacist too, awaiting PPR and plan to move to rural areas after passing the exams. I also plan volunteer like once or twice a week in a pharmacy. Is that a good plan? How difficult are the exams, I have already started preparing and hope to write it once I get there. Thanks
Wages: check PayScale, Indeed and Glassdoor. This also varies by location and number of hours worked, but FT hours are somewhere between 85k to 100k. If you pick up extra hours or work locum with your FT. You could earn between 110k-120k. Additional bonus of around 10k if you work FT is also common.
If you own your own practice, average is $135k and up. |
