ekt_bear: I am more and more convinced that ndu_chucks and the rest of these northern elites aren't human beings. But instead demons that must be hunted mercilessly and killed.ndu_chucks is a top operative of what is known in Nigeria as "Boko Haram". He deserves nothing less. ![]() |
bittyend: The Ijebus, Remos, and Itsekiris are the same people - just as the Ondos and Ekitis are the same people. So, any Yoruba nation must include them. So, what if that is not possible? What if Itsekiri decides to go with a Delta republic? |
EzeUche: I enjoy the healthy competition between Abia and Anambra.I hope you would at least buy Innoson Made in Nnewi vehicles, and encourage Capital oil to establish in Abia state. I speak now as an Nnewi man. ![]() |
Dudu_Negro: so why isnt igbo money relocated to Igboland? I will tell you why Igbo money is not in Igboland for sure. Alaigbo is indeed worse to its own indigenous sons and daughters than Yoruba or Hausa will ever be. There are two classes of Igbos let me tell you. The land owner and the wealth owner. Most of the wealth owner are osus and they have rebelled against the land and its owners. . . .they find comfort and bonding and brotherhood with foreigners and foreign lands than they do their own birthsoil where their fundamental birthrights are denied.Negro, you were onto something important earlier before you derailed. Your bolded question is a sad one and we live with it everyday. However, I don't think that Osu has anything to do with Igbo "dessertion" of Igboland. I put it in quotes because it is not really as huge as people say when you factor in lack of an international airport in the SE. A lot of businesses locate in lagos just because of that airport. But let me return to the point you raised earlier about Igbo confining themselves to the SE. Frankly, I am always livid with rage anytime I see some of my brothers talk about SE as if it is the only home of ndigbo, when we are also in SS. Self defeatist pride is the main culprit of such mindset. Basically, for me, Igbo region is the EASTERN NIGERIAN REGION. Yes, you are right that aboki is smart enough to still retain one North even though the region has three geopo-zones now. So, whenever you see an Igbo person limiting himself to SE, or a SS person trying to claim exclusive ownership of SS, just laugh and shake your head. ![]() |
Una still dey here? ![]() Umunne m biko nu rapu nu agha uno maka na onwero onye ga emeri ya. It is well with Igboland. ![]() |
bittyend: Why are the Itsekiris not included in the Yoruba nation? Yoruba nation without Itsekiris, means we the Ijebus/Remos/Itsekiris will have to declare our separate countrySo, are you saying that you will form an Ijebu country, together with the Itsekiri? Hmm, that is kind of interesting. I can however deduce from your logic here that Itsekiri is the ONLY key to a united Yoruba nation; else, Ijebus would not join it, and would pursue a separate nation with their brothers the Remos. Am I wrong? |
Bialegend: This is your first time, and you actually believed that rubbish was said by our Ojukwu against our Uwazuruike? can't you simply do a google search on that quote to find out who actually wrote that nonsense about Uwazurike? Do you actually think that Ojukwu will stoop so low? Haba! What's wrong with some of you? Laziness? Who ever wrote the useless article above and credited the nonsense quote to Ojukwu should be stoned. Iddiots.Dude, the insult is unnecessary and quite childish. If you discovered a mistake, all you need to do it point it out. The mistake was an honest one (at least for me) mainly because I know there was a time Ojukwu was not so cosey with Uwazururike. Having said that, I think that whoever used those words to describe Uwazuruike is not very far from the truth. ![]() If you go through some of my recent postings on Uwazuruike's statements, you will see that I share in those views, and I pity gullibe (mainly illiterate) Igbo youths that are being gunned down by Nigerian security for following Uwazuruike's strange methods of non-violence. Infact I hold very strong views about that, and think that they (MASSBO) should disband. However recently it appears that Igbo leaders have started to impose on MASSOB some of what they should have been doing ab initio -namely to drive criminals from Igboland. MASSOB should have been doing this BEFORE NOW, but they didn't. If the Igbo leaders continue to add those wise inputs, maybe MASSOB can be made relevant in the future. I wouldn't put much hope on Uwazuruike because Igbo say that you know a chicken that will turn into a cock at hatchling stages. ![]() |
@Abagworo, so because I refused to endorse your idiotic thread which I know for sure we Ndigbo can never gain from, you now say that I am shunning the truth? Guy do you have brains at all? ![]() Since when have you ever seen me shy away from any form of confrontation here on Nairaland? lol ![]() Better yet, WHY in the world should I from Nnewi Anambra state cower at these types of "dik show contest"? ![]() Nna the day you drop your complex is the day you will start to recover. Okay, let me help you feel better about yourself: ANAMBRA IS THE WORST STATE IN NIGERIA. Happy now? But I still bet that your complex would only get worse! lol Grow up dude. ![]() I cannot stop anyone commenting here. I already see where it is headed. Smart Igbo folks should continue to ignore it. ![]() @Ezeuche, please grow up. It is about time. ![]() |
hehehe! aboki time to start exporting mayi jada. ![]() No more handouts! ![]() |
Ejiné: Well, this writer appears to believe so:whao!Hear Ojukwu on Chief Uwazurike after attending the inauguration of the Biafran House in Washington, DC: “He lacks both charisma and oratorical flourishes. He is neither a scholar nor an intellectual, a philosopher nor a deep thinker, a sophisticate nor a deep thinker. He is a homespun boyish looking man, with an air of arrogance, or the self-importance of a parvenu gloating in his new found prominence”. “Secondly, I am in complete disagreement with his method and his goal”. That was Ojukwu on Uwazurike.http://www.announcerexpressonline.com/?p=4181 Funny enough, this summarizes my EXACT feelings about Uwazuruike. ![]() Ojukwu in his usual elegant English captures Uwazuruike accurately. As for Rochas replacing Ojukwu, I would rather say that Rochas should replace Zik, in the sense that Zik was a national player, and Rochas will be a national player (whether we like it or not). I don't see him fighting Igbo cause. Lastly, I personally think that we need someone with a military background. We are in Nigeria for heavens sake, and nobody knows how the country will resolve. I would prefer someone in Ebitu Ukiwe's mold; someone who can command fear and respect among Igbo and other groups in Nigeria. ![]() |
That the North is obsessed with the acquisition of political power is not a new story. That is one of the MAIN NIGERIAN PROBLEM that must be addressed. Like I say often, their obsession with acquiring power is only harmful to Nigeria mainly because they are NOT QUALIFIED to rule more educated southerners. That was exactly how Nigeria wasted DECADES under Northern rule without investing in something as basic as electricity supply. If they were to wait until at least the average Northern state equals the average southern state in education levels, then we would at least know that they won't set us backwards again. One of the biggest Nigerian problem has been that critical national institutions were headed by less qualified people by way of quota system. The consequence is part of the mess we have today; but things are gradually changing as more qualified people are now taking over slowly. The North can continue obsessing over political power, it has that right, BUT it must go to school first! ![]() |
Kobojunkie: But the question asked has nothing to do the look of the state but about how organized/planned it is. Two completely different issues here. Pictures of filthy parts of Aba, Umuahia and probably isi ukwuato, or Okigwe, Uzuakoli, would not change the fact that I honestly believe that Abia state is more organized than Anambra, from the much I know from living in both states --only I spent more time in Abia than I did in Anambra.I know that you are a mental case and well known on Nairaland as a certified NUT, but let me rebound the idiotic question to you. What is "organized"? Do you have an inkling of how subjective that word is, especially in a debate? This is exactly why I advised IGBO people to step over this thread. I still hope they heed me. @joeisreal, please drop it because this won't end well. |
The 2015 elections have started in earnest! Anyone caught off guard will be sorry. |
North Raises Dust Over Jonathan’s ‘2015 Agenda’ • Threatens To Deal With Belgore On President’s Alleged Tenure Extension ‘Plot’ • Presidency Describes Claim As Mischief NORTHERN political and opinion leaders have been meeting, with a pair of issues on their advertised menu: insecurity and poverty in the North. But watchers of the polity have noted that behind the closed doors were discussions connected to the 2015 elections, particularly the presidential contest. Truly, events of the past week have lent credence to this permutation, with several media reports credited to topnotch leaders of the region, alleging plans by President Jonathan to extend his tenure beyond 2015. The presidency denial of the claimed plot has done little to erase the suspicion of the North that Jonathan will elongate his stay in Aso Rock beyond 2015. Dr. Junaid Mohammed, who heads a group of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, spoke to The Guardian on the steaming topic. He stated that some top personalities in the North had been contracted to achieve President Jonathan’s alleged plot to remain in power after 2015, warning that they would deal with the said northerners. However, the presidency has denied the claims of Mohammed and others. Dr. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, told The Guardian yesterday that, “the terms of reference for the Belgore committee are in the public domain and cannot be speculated on, except for mischief and for those who want to play politics with the issues of constitution amendment.” He said the Belgore committee, essentially, “is to look at previous positions for harmony, collate and advise government in its recommendations.” “The committee and the executive do not have powers to amend the Constitution,” he stressed, adding that, “for anybody to now come up and make wild claims about a committee that has not submitted its report is more of mischief than anything else.” “Secondly, the issue is to stress the point that this is an administration that has not completed its first year in office, that has a transformational agenda and has been doing its best to remain focused on that agenda. “For a group not to see this commitment means that it has a sinister motive, and is only attempting to distract, but the administration remain focused,” he said. Abati noted that tenure was a constitutional matter and the debate did not start with Jonathan. “There can be no problem with the president expressing an opinion or suggesting a proposal on tenure, having regard to the bitter politicking, stress and obsession people have with election matters at the governorship and presidential,” he said. “The issues have been debated and we have stressed that it is up to the people and the National Assembly to decide. We should be able to separate ignorance from politics,” he added. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=80448:north-raises-dust-over-jonathans-2015-agenda&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |
OP it depends on what you are looking for, but I would suggest Enugu or Owerri as places you can stay to calm down first, think and then decide. I have not been to Calabar or Uyo, so I wouldn't know enough to advise you. The two towns (Enugu and Owerri) also have airports for easy access in and out. I would also recommend Asaba because of similar reasons, and I may even recommend it more because of its proximity to Onitsha, a major commercial city. |
I also want to part by saying that 90% of the pictures posted by Abagworo are at least 2 years old. I personally posted the Nnewi picture here myself; he saved them. So, IGNORE THIS THREAD. |
I decided to comment on this thread early enough because I've seen that the Mods (in typical manner) have quickly rushed it to the front page. They are smart enough to know where this would lead and how it would end, so they rushed it to the front page. Already some realy slow Igbo brothers have started making stoopid statements that will precipitate such outcome. Let me just summarize by saying that it is really dumb and stoopid to start comparing any two states in Nigeria, and even more so in SE, especially if you are Igbo. For all I know, the SE is the most institutionally marginalized geopolitical zone in Nigeria. As a result, some of our governors are busy doing federal government works like erosion control and patching federal roads for example. But, by far the biggest reason why I won't encourage any sane and wise Igbo person to comment on this thread is because Igbo say that "Onye atu gburu nna ya adighi eji mpi atu anu mmanya" -a person whose father was gored to death by a water bufallo, never drinks palm wine with a bufallo's horn. Disunity is our bane, and we must avoid anything that will tamper with our unity in any way. It may be healthy for "normal" (read less marginalized) zones to play the game of show me your "dik", and do so safely. It is dangerous to play the game if nature (read Nigerian federal government) somehow cheated you, by "nature" in this case I mean the Nigerian system. Abagworo has been shouting throughout this forum that Igbo are not one, and has hidden motives behind these types of threads. Commenting on it is only playing into his self hating hands. There is an Anambra forum, where Anambra citizens go to hold their govenor to account, and it is strictly by email invitation. I don't know whether there is such forum for Abia citizens, but that is the appropriate forum to discuss these types of things. I personally do not think that Ndigbo have won all our outside battles, to feel leisurely free to indulge in local squables. Onye obula jiri ire ya guo eze ya onu. undecided ![]() IGNORE THIS THREAD! Here I stand! ![]() |

re@lchange:I painfully read through this news, and all I could do was to keep wringing my fingers repeatedly. While doing so, two names kept playing like a record in my head: Edwin Clark and Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye! Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye claimed that the idea of states was his and his alone. He was too "marginalized" in Eastern region. Now, the same people he allied with are telling him in bold terms (and many agree) that he and his don't have the "executive capacity" to manage what God put near them. ![]() I have to use this opportunity to warn the youths of "SS" and "Niger delta", to carefully study the perilious paths of these two men, and to resolutely TAKE THE OPPOSITE direction. When the two men were dancing to the macabre beats and flutes of "usurugodo", they did not know that "usurugodo" is a dance of death. One can argue, standing on very firm grounds, that it was far better that the resources of Eastern Nigeria was managed at regional levels than at state levels where thieves can pillage the coffers without anyone asking, and where there may be dearth of human resources to effect transformation and economic boom (apologies to Northerners). We were able to use the proceeds of oil palm and coal to develop Enugu, Port Harcourt, Calabar and other mid sized towns before the civil war. We would have been able to transform the whole East with all the money being siphoned to the North (they own most of the oil blocks) without any gratitude in return. By now, these Eastern cities would have been competing with some of best in the world, and it would be abundantly clear to everyone that there is executive capacity to manage the resources. But "stateism" was used to destroy our unity; now, a Soludo for eg, cannot work in Bayelsa or Rivers state and vice versa. It pains me that someone who is almost 1000 miles away, who is comparatively less educated, feels that he is more qualified to control the resources that are in my own backyard, thanks to people like Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye who couldn't see far enough. It is quite sad indeed. ![]() |
alj harem: That is not the east, where is ur geography ?It is technically the East because it is just across the Niger from Onitsha. Another thing going for Asaba is the airport for those who need quick access. It hosts a lot of Nollywood locations and stars too. |
Mr. Globe:Nwanne, you started a thread, and then went ahead to poison it ahead of time by bringing in the governors of unconcerned states. Nna I honestly don't know how some of you think. Sometimes I think you are not Igbos. Honestly. ![]() |
ndu_chucks: Ah Ah, una go soon wound person for hia.hmm, ndu-chucks I did not know that you are also a coward. I know you are a leprous snake hiding in the sand to strike at your unsuspecting victim, but I never knew you are also a REAL coward. hehe! So, all the praise you poured on Ojukwu in the last few weeks as he was accorded WORLD ACCLAIM during his burial was just an Yoruba hot air? It was all a farce ko? Not that I ever believed you anyway, but to think that you are so cowardly. Nna na wa o. You are now a fully CERTIFIED Yoruba coward. ![]() BTW I amended your mantra to suit facts. We shall help you fulfill it insha allah. ![]() |
ACM10: Onlytruth, is it not time u exit from this thread? And why should I exit it? To make room for open warfare? If that is what you are waiting from me, it ain't ever happening. |
ACM10: For sure, many anambrarians does not share this sentiment of yours. . . and it insult the sensibility of many more whenever supposed outsiders makes this comment about Peter Obi. I will advise u to desist from making the the above comment as a neutral person u claims to be, or else you'll be seen by a section of anambrarians as a political hackHe is very welcome to share his opinion with the rest of us. Since when is it a crime to share opinions that supports a sitting governor? Nna some of you guys just need to chill, because you are not helping advance your own position by attacking others. The guy says he passes through Awka and has someone working there. Do you have something more to show us? If you not, then why this attack and argument? Makes no damn sense! ![]() |
@Everyone I wish to appeal to everyone commenting on this thread to please use his brains while arguing. How can anyone believe any negative conclusion you may share with us if you have no pictorial proof? A picture is worth a thousand words. Please support your position with PICTURE proof. As for my Eastern brothers, please never forget that we all live in the same region and share the same towns, from Enugu to Calabar, to PH to Asaba to Abakaliki to Nsukka, etc. Let us always bear this in mind whenever we want to support or defend our positions. It is truly idiotic to put down any eastern town to feel good about yourself because you may end up there tomorrow. That is why I started by asking for picture proofs because that is the only way to make a fair presentation of position. The debate can continue, but please let us do so like brothers. I thank you all in advance! ![]() |
jbaur24: Its wellI think it is time I give you a title. You are now the ogo bu nwanne 1 of Nairaland. Translated, it means literally "in-law is brother". ![]() I say this because you are communicating in a very civil manner, and you are doing your best to share the truth with the rest of us diasporans. Thank you my brother. ![]() |
ACM10: This is disgraceful!Bros, you should direct your disappointment at some of your brothers here who are always too quick to insult me thinking that they would get away with it just because of some online "Eze" conferred on me. I never take insults from anybody. ![]() Let's keep things in focus. If you go back to the earlier pages, you will see that I tried my best to control some of our wayward brothers here. For my effort, I was insulted. The sooner our brothers understand that I will never accept unnecessary insults, the better for all of us. Whenever you see renegades insulting some of us who have been here longer and have wounds to show for it, it is your duty to call them to order, else I would do so myself. Aka ejisiro m. You are right that the originator of this topic is more interested in slighting Anambra than he is interested in truth. Abagworo is a well known Igbo renegade. His perspectives are no longer important in Igbo affairs. |
Mr. Globe:That is what EVERY Anambra state citizen is waiting for. All these useless arguments only paint Ndigbo in bad light. Anybody who thinks that I am a Peter Obi groupie is a fool. Ngige was my man going into the elections last year. Obi won, and since then I would not say that he has done nothing. In 2014, my candidate may not even be Ngige, depending on the men running. However, any candidate backed by Peter Obi will face an uphill task because of all these controversies trailing him around. |
Ejiné: Owerre is far cleaner, saner, and more beautiful than your hulking mess known as Awka could ever dream of being in 60 lifetimes. So, if you're going to attack a city, dumbasss, at least pick one that is within your league of wretchedness, like Birnin-Kebbi and Lokoja; not Owerri, a city 980 billion lightyears ahead of you.Ejiné, I think you should drop it now. You've made your point and this argument is in bad taste. Move on bro. |
Mr. Globe:And you are not ashamed to say that you are from Lagos? Anu mpama. You are ashamed of your own state. Why should I even look your way? Afo anu nwuru anwu. |
Chino, please leave that guy, I don't think he is from Imo state. I also think you should cut Ejine some slack. Peter Obi is not putting this debate beyond reach, that is why we are having this useless argument here. BTW I still wait for pictures from Awka. |
Mr. Globe:You are a freaking goat to think that you can come here to spew gibberish unchallenged. My friend I have been to more cities globally than you can ever be in nine lifetimes; and I currently live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Moreso, I am a trained professional in physical development, and I have deep understanding of what it takes to REALLY DEVELOP, instead of merely painting graves and calling it development. Yes, READ MY LIPS, governments have no business building hotels; and dual carriage ways are even signs of 19th century style development. I would take good schools, health centers, rural roads and fiscally sound state, over states with dual carriage roads where the nothing else is happening. We are in 21st century. Idiotic goat. |
