alex_101: Nna men, I tire for thesepeople. Sometimes, I wonder if they want nigeria to progress or not?I just laid an official complaint about the biased moderating and skewed bans against Ndigbo. I wonder what some of these Mods are thinking sometimes. I know we are not of the same tribe, but this is Nigeria's top web forum. They should try to contain their bias sometimes. ![]() |
@ALL Mods of this Section There have been several reports by Igbo posters alleging that they are being banned for actions which Yoruba posters readily embark upon with total impunity. Sometimes dayokanu instigates attacks and insults, and when Igbo posters respond, they are banned. This is an official complaint from Eze Ndigbo Nairaland. Such biased moderating of this Section should stop in the interest of peace and "cleanliness" of this Section. Respect is reciprocal. I take it that the owner of this site will not allow his site to be used as a platform for attacking the Igbo Nation. Like I have said severally, we are not totally powerless here. Let the rules apply to all equally. A word is enough for the wise. ![]() |
alex_101: Did you read the entire article at all? The writer indicated that a lot of Yorubas are still working in the aviation sector, and you guys are here making it as if the entire yorubas have eliminated. They act in packs. One Yoruba removed is tantamount to ALL removed. I remember the Achebe thread when Awo was pilloried by the literature legend. It became an attack on Yoruba nation. lol ![]() |
So, I guess all I have to say is MORE FUEL TO STELLA'S ![]() |

BTW no amount of ad hominems would sway the trajectory of our argument. ![]() Yoruba sit down on jobs they cannot execute well for Nigeria. FACT. ![]() They are foisting incompetence on the whole nation of 160 million. |
alj harem: The SW is not the norths partner. You Igbos are really stu.pid. So If I am not for Igbo I must be for the north ?My friend you are the biggest coward in Nairaland. I hope you know. A person who is too ashamed to identify his own group, yet feels competent to discuss others is the greatest coward ever created by God. |
My main concern is that NOTHING is working engineering -wise in Nigeria, and Yoruba dominate engineering. We were in near total darkness until Igbo engineers like Nnaji showed up. My concern is that Nigeria cannot account for oil exports, yet, we have engineers who sit down on top of more competent ones. Quite sad. |
alex_101: I remember I was said to my Igbo brethren that "the greatest lie ever told by the devil was convincing humanity it didn't exist". The yorubas with the aid of their media propaganda were able to deceive shallow nigerians that they were the best at everything and the most "educated". Well, this sort of thing will everly continue as far as nigeria exists,,,eventually, the north will one day get its turn to rule and their partner, SW will be invited to come join the feast again,,,they're not clamouring for a northern president for nothing.Nwanne ike gwuru! |
alj harem: You quote the bible yet you are lying and causing strife among brothers ? Are you OK ?I never lie. That is one thing I make sure of. I may double lay emphasis on a point, BUT I never lie. ![]() |
c.fours:So, you mean that a multinational oil company who operate out of Lagos is now a Yoruba company? If there is no oil in Eastern Nigeria (at least about 70% of Nigeria's oil is in the East) would that company be in Lagos? |
c.fours:If you refuse to answer the question, I will simply step above you and move on. ![]() |
c.fours:Is Suru Lere not part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? If the answer is yes, then, don't you see how foolish you sound? |
alj harem: ^^^^^^^^ But the Oil industry is controlled by Foriegners, and Igbos so what are you blabbing about ?You should also read and meditate carefully on the words of Psalm 37. If you do not repent, be rest assured that your fate will be that of a man cursed by God for oppressing the poor and lowly. Man may forgive carelessly but God NEVER forgives unless the person repents. It is not too late to repent. ![]() |
If I am to go by personal account of someone close to me, then, the Yoruba could easily be termed the most clannish and tribalistic Nigerians. The guy in question recounted MANY instances of Yoruba thwarting his ascension in his engineering profession. I would not like to recount all the instances, but he just told me yesterday that the Yoruba dominated branch of the oil company where he is working, just bypassed him on his DUE promotion. Their game plan was to get him angry so that in his anger he would do something rash and they would then instigate his firing. I personally told him to calm down and play dead for now. Their day of reckoning will come one day. I told him to read and meditate on Psalm 37. Let me say this now. There is no way for Nigeria to move forward without a MASSIVE overhaul of the system. A lot of "parapo" dudes are sitting on top of COMPETENT Nigerian working staff. For me, the most significant reason why that system has to change is that the people doing this are mainly incapable and unqualified to occupy the positions from which they dominate and oppress other Nigerians. Let me give an example. Since the Yoruba dominate Nigerian oil sector engineering; pray in what areas has Nigeria distinguished herself in petrochemical and marine engineering? Is there something we dominate engineering-wise internationally, any thing? Why is Nigeria not able to account for the amount of oil she exports? Why is Nigeria still backward in engineering generally? You see, there is something Ndigbo call "ewu eri, ma okuko atu" -the goat refuses to eat, (or is incapable of eating something), yet will fight tooth and nail to ensure that the chicken never eats it! That is the height of wickedness and a unique type of corruption that must be fought to a stand still for Nigeria to move forward. BTW such unique corruption will NEVER stop until Ministers start acting like Stella Oduah. ![]() |
If it were someone else now complaining about Obasanjo's wasted years in office, some people will say he is whining. Is this not the height of whining? The Senator knows that his party has already lost 2015 elections. ![]() Oya go impeach am na. lol |
TheBookWorm: Why should the North produce the next Presidential nominee? If I talk am now, dem go say Eze Ndigbo na bigot. But you spoke the truth. |
PointB: My candid advice to APC: Pick Rochas as your presidential candidate and pair him with a muslim from the North. Pitch it as strategy to re-unite the country. 8 years later power can go back to the NorthI don't know how many times Ndigbo have to drum it into people's ears that we DON'T want VP positions again in Nigeria. Ndigbo si na adighi ahapu ebe a na echi ozo gawa n'ebe a na aru agwu (a sane man cannot choose to attend a native doctors little ceremony rather that a huge feast of chieftaincy title taking ceremony). VPs in Nigerian political system is like a "none speaking towns man" in a movie set - basically powerless. We are tired of that crap. ![]() If APC is serious, then Rochas MUST be on top of the ticket, or we shall stick to Bro Jona. ![]() |
odumorun 1: Nothing seems to provoke fury, indeed unbridled rage on this website and across the land more than when some prominent Nigerian goes abroad and criticises the brazenly obvious ills in our society. The response always revolves around the excuse that we should not wash our dirty linen in public, Americans and westerners don’t do the same etc etc.Once is a long while, one comes across a post in Nairaland that is so brilliant that one forgets (even if for a short while) all the junks oozing out of this website ostensibly from fools, half witted scoundrels, and outright nincompoops. This piece is so brilliant I can hang my hat on it. Kudos OP. ![]() |
TO REDISTRIBUTE NIGERIA'S OIL BLOCKS IS A TASK THAT MUST BE DONE! ![]() |
trillville: My guy u are making a lot of sense. The thing is even if the south gets back the oil wells, will that guarantee an improved standard of living in the south? Nigeria is more important than north vs south. We constitute the largest concentration of black people on earth. Why there is overt racism today is because Nigeria is a shit hole. Do you think the northern masses have being enjoying the 83% ownership of oil wells? The truth is that Nigeria can only change if all forms of chauvinism is defeated and a MERIT based system introduced. Let me ask you. Does it mean that the owners of these oil blocks PAID fair market prices for them? Answer: NO So, why were they allocated the oil blocks then? Do you know how much Nigeria lost already because these blocks were basically dashed to military affiliates of the ruling Military juntas from the North? The poor people in Nigeria will NEVER see improvement in their living standards for as long as this type of brazen crony-ism is entrenched as the norm in Nigeria. Let the "Northern masses" hustle like the rest of us "Southern masses". We are all masses! ![]() Nigeria's oil wealth should be sold to the highest bidding private investor, and the proceeds put into national coffers. I don't even believe in federal character in these types of things. I wonder whether US uses federal character to sell oil blocks. Here you pay for what you own! If you want oil block, PAY FOR THE DAMN THING. |
miiraaj: Does the question have to do with the fact that GEJ has no balls? Thank God you just admitted he's got no balls. The truth is gradually sinking into your thick skull. You are beginning to realise that your Oga is the most useless and inefficient leader the world has ever produced. In 1999 after Obasanjo started making changes in the army, your Northern brothers introduced Sharia law in 15 states (or so), tempting Obasanjo to clamp down on them, and in the process provide them with an excuse to topple him in a coup. OBJ being an old fox, kept his cool. . . until won his second term. He turned the army upside down and removed core North from most strategic commands. From then on, OBJ became almost like God, even to core North. lol He remained untouchable until he left and even foisted a dying Northerner as a way to regain power in the south. He succeeded. GEJ is making changes (in fact he has gone far sef ) in the army, and will win again in 2015. My concern is the fools in the south who want to buy into your Northern lies, and smuggle a nineteen century man into Aso rock in 2015. It won't happen though. This man you say has no balls has done more than you would ever comprehend. |
The question EVERY southerner should ask himself is this: HOW DID THE NORTH CORNER 83% OF NIGERIA'S OIL WEALTH? Answer: THROUGH MILITARY DOMINATION OF NIGERIA. Shikena. If that changes, all else will change. If the North gets back to power, not only would that endure, it would be expanded to even experiment will other things like total sharianization of Nigeria. If you think it is not possible, you don't understand how the North thinks. For all the cries of cheating and marginalization emanating from the North, they are still sitting on 83% of Nigeria's oil wealth. Now, go figure. |
Billyonaire: I love the way you put it, I really admire your detailed explanation. I voted for GEJ to have 247 Electricity, if I must vote a Buhari, then I wanna be sure that there is an established manisfesto to revoke Oil wells Leases, without which I will not believe in his cause or vote for him. If APC came out telling us they are going there to right the wrongs done to Nigerians as regards distribution of commonwealth, I will be the first to decamp from PDP, but APC and Buhari have not made known their intents, and I can only say they have no other purpose, other than to 'Fight PDP'.Most you don't understand the progress Nigeria has made between 1999 and today. I don't like Obasanjo, but he kick started something that made it possible for Jonathan to be there today, and for Nigeria to have a real chance if Jonathan wins in 2015. The North is desperate for power, and will say or do ANYTHING just to get it again. But be ready for DECADES of pain after that. I'm shocked by your short memories. The only advise I would give to any progressive Nigerian (especially southerners) is to pray that Jonathan wins again in 2015, else, TROUBLE lies ahead. Nigeria has made REAL progress under Jonathan, and the progress would be consolidated if he wins again in 2015. Nigerian military is where all the relevant changes are taking place. |
trillville: You are actually making a lot of sense. Another statistic the honorable member should have given us is what percentage of oil well owners are PDP card carrying members. The only issue I have with your comment is putting the whole north under a blanket as one entity. Even the hausa Fulani are divided between the rich and the poor. The rich have used Islam to suppress the Poor claiming God blessed destined them to be rich and the same God destined the poor to be almajiri. The bolded words are some of the lies that make Nigeria a very sad and depressing country! Dude where did you get this lie from? Who told you that Buhari is capable of taking away Northern privileges on the alter of national interest? Where were you when Buhari sacked the civilian government of Shagari, only to jail southerners like Ekwueme, while putting Shagari in a convenient house arrest? Shagaris mates were languishing in Kiri Kiri MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON, while Buhari put him under mere house arrest. Where were you when Buhari turned a blind eye to the 53 suitcases of cash being smuggled out of the country by the Emir of Gwandu of that time? Meanwhile other Nigerians (less mortals like southerners of course) where queuing for days in the bank after Buhari changed the currency without consultation. It is very depressing to see young Nigerians (some of them southerners) trying unintelligently to launder Buhari's image, desperately trying to turn him into a modern nationalist incorruptible leader, when he is nothing less than a Fulani chauvinist, hell bent on preserving Northern privileges and advantages. If you are a southerner, keep trying to bring back Buhari. You will regret later. |
