To me , this topic is absolutely not relevant. i bet everybody that if these NON-SENSE,reminders of how our fathers, mothers sisters and brothers were dealt with continue with these their useless act ,its not making the Igbo race any happier.Could these reviewers and their evil father called Gowon continue in these act, these could fuel an ugly situation. permit me to say the Ibo race of yester years are different from those of today.lets not debate our loss.it pains us to the marrow.Don't sensitize us to hate ojukwu, it will do you no good.dont provoke us beyond control .let every evil doer who never pitied the Ibo race keep quite so as to allow the sleeping dog lie.If you are carring out any research. dont let it be on this media. The Ibo man is courageous and brave,he might not be the loser in any duet of this days.
I understand how you feel. It is unfortunate that Yorubas make the most noise and keep mocking Igbos for the loss of this war. They forget that the wounds are still very fresh and real and that the more they gloat the more they invoke hate and bile. They forget that something can still happen in the future if they don't check their tongues. Not to encourage any violence but if any war should come again, do they think that Igbos will even look at Hausa people again? I speculate that Igbo will most likely completely ignore the north and simply move west to deal with Yoruba. We know what the Hausa want (OIL) and they can have it! But Yoruba better get ready. Nonsense.
PoliticsRe: Is Fmr. Pres. Obasanjo Really Bad? by Onlytruth(m): 5:51am On Feb 18, 2010
Obasanjo is the worst Nigerian leader of all time for being the MOST SELFISH of them all. This man had his paws on every deal in the country. Above all, he was UNSCRUPULOUS and never cared about democracy. He was also very devious and an expert at manipulating his political opponents. He empowered and protected CRIMINALS to run roughshod on the country, turning many peaceful regions into war zones, a typical example of which was my state Anambra. If Obasanjo had his way, he would have metamorphosed into a LIFE PRESIDENT. One of the few proud moments I have had as a Nigerian was when the national assembly under the leadership of Senator Ken Nnamani threw out his tenure elongation schemes.

Even the evil genius called IBB loved this country more than Obasanjo because he admitted his limitations and stepped aside. Obasanjo would have caused a war than step down if his term was not finished and he was roundly defeated by more honorable Nigerians. He was preparing to die in office! Everything Obasanjo did, he did for HIMSELF. As far as he is concerned, his love for Nigeria is synonymous with his love of himself. He didn't see any difference between the two. He was becoming the Nigerian state until he was reined in by morally superior and more patriotic Nigerians.

You were once a very good reader with a considerable penchant for comprehension. But I can not say what has happened to you recently. Believe me when an adult behaves like a child, I shall not fail to say so.

I am sorry to bust your bubble because I did not write that “Biafra troops were welcomed in PortHarcourt” I wrote when Biafran Brigades of 60, 68, 63 and 52 were pushing deep in Port Harcourt environs. Actually by late 1969, 52 Brigade under command of Major Frank Okilo had entered Igrinta while 68 Brigade under command of Major Osuagwu with Headquarter at Obirinze had entered Ubime through Umuagwu/Apani/Egbuozuzu. At the same time, 63 Brigade under Lt Col Ihieanacho had Elele and waiting for 60 Brigade under Lt .Col Asoya through Oguta /Egbema/Ahoada that had 15 Brigade under Major Olu Makanjuola of 3MCDO scattering back to Port Harcourt.
The more I study the civil war the more I think that the Yoruba might have played a completely different role if not for their leadership under Awolowo. That man Awo did most harm to the east -west rapport during the war. I have noticed roles played by Yoruba sons on the Biafran side.

@Dede1, could you furnish us with more information about Yoruba soldiers in the Biafran army? All we've heard of had been the roles they played on the Nigerian side (like the one bolded above). What about those of them who fought for Biafra? Who where they and what roles did they play?
This information will help put things in proper perspective. It would be unfair not to acknowledge and pay homage to such gallant men.

Apart from Banjo, who were the rest?

Your rather unbalanced and shifty C in C when the tide of his un-planned, un-thoughtful and untimely military jamboree became sour, he turned his anger in disgust at the tribes in the creeks.

It was not uncommon to see men, women and young boys burnt alive with tyres round their necks accused of being saboteurs of the war effort.
How is that different from the way saboteurs in Igbo and other areas of Biafra were treated huh Mind you, that was mob action. I can't be dying at the war front while you are at home showing the enemy how to kill me. May be in Yorubaland, but not in the east.

A covert ethnic cleansing policy was fully operational then, the evidence abounds today in present day Rivers and Bayelsa State where Igbo villages have sprung up in areas that where once a sea of  Ijaws and Ibibio’s villages. The ethnic composition of these areas bears no semblance to what it was in the 17th and 18th century.
Because of this statement, I would advise you to change your username immediately to something more appropriate. I don't want to jump on you, so I'll leave Afam to continue with you.
