EVERY THING ABOUT THIS COUNTRY NIGERIA IS WRONG.... DR MRS OKACHI CECILIA.. @VONNews Speaking with the press on a remarkable day, Dr. Cecelia Okachi who marked her birthday in a grand style with friends and well wishers, used the medium to enumerate the high level of irregularities in the nation. The celebrant, Dr Cecelia stated that her major concern about our nation Nigeria is the socio -economic situation in the country. From the look of things she wants to affirm the fact that every thing about Nigeria is going in the wrong direction. Dr. Cecilia who demonstrated the role of a world leader through her philanthropic efforts, gathered over 50 students on scholarships in her educational organisation, Simmic Schools and prayed for them. She went further to point out some of the major problems we need to look into which includes, Poor eletricity supply and crazy bills, the essential infrastructure, lack of jobs creation, insecurity, Violence, immorality and crime that has eaten deep into the nation. Dr Cecelia stated that from her observations as a leader, parents, families and individuals is to be held responsible for the critical state the nation is in now and not the government alone. Therefore, she is using this opportunity to call on members of the public who are blessed to be parents and also to those that are wealthy enough to help empower the less priviledge and make them useful individuals in the society. She illustrated some of the foolishness of some rich Nigerian men and women, who has fleets of cars and landed properties everywhere stating that these set of individuals can not sleep in more than one room, they can not drive more than one car at a time yet they cannot use a portion of their wealth in empowering the less privileged by sending some to school and also create a job opportunities for the jobless. Dr Cecilia Okachi in conclusion advises parents to also do their best to train up their wards in a morally upright way especially from the home front to make them the pride of our nation Nigeria. Also speaking with Mrs. Omidirepo the proprietress of KENIOLA group of schools, a friend of the celebrant who was present to honor Dr Okachi on her special day, she described the celebrant as a leader, she is one in a million, having the kinds of Dr Okachi more in the nation will create a way for a better Nigeria. Mrs Kehinde Omidirepo further described the celebrant as a friend whom had impacted something unique in her life. Mrs Omidirepo also told VONN correspondent that most of the activities she had known Dr Okachi with is giving out scholarships, empowering people, feeding the less privilege and clothing the widows. There are times when Dr. Okachi the celebrant will go out of her way to help a friend. Furthermore, Mrs Kehinde encouraged other women to emulate the good works of Dr Okachi as she has learnt a lot from her and is still learning. Finally, She uses this medium to also pray for the celebrant, stating that God will use her to raise other female world leaders as she wishes her long life in good health and Happiness.

AOCOED: SEALED REGISTRAR'S OFFICE REOPENED Unlike the reports making rounds in the media circle, stating that the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education may boil again soon, situations in the school had returned to that of normalcy and orderliness. In fact the office of the registrar which was earlier sealed by the protesting lecturers was found open. Students were also seen going about their normal academic businesses preparatory to their examinations. Members of the unions refused to grant any official interview concerning developments in AOCOED. According to VONN correspondent who visited the college, the lecturers affirmed that families can have issues that must be resolved within, hence this is the real reason they have no issue for now to brief the press. VONN gathered that the Registrar and the Bursar alleged to have mismanaged funds and performed without transparency and as such have been told to prove the allegations false if things must return to normalcy in the school. These offices have been sealed for days before the unsealing at about 3pm on the 13th of March, 2020. View the pictures and videos below.. Onome reporting...

BREAKING: COEASU CHAIR RUNS FOR DEAR LIFE The war in AOCOED is certainly far from being over.Today at about 8pm,it was gathered that the union leaders who just left a joint Congress over developments in the institution which bordered on mismanagement and lack of transparency of some principal management personnel, suddenly saw a team of heavily armed policemen conveyed in two trucks. It was learnt from sources around the campus that the policemen seem to be working with the school's Chief Security Officer, who may be working on the instruction of the Registrar who apparently is battle ready for the unionists who are somehow probing his activities. When the police invasion was questioned by some union people who were shocked, the CSO simply said that some suspected cultists were on campus, hence the coming of the police. But the unionists did not believe that due to the fact that the school has an internal security network that handles matters like cultism. It was however realised by sources that the unions' exco, especially COEASU chair is the target. The policemen according to findings were seen around the campus residence of the COEASU leader who presently is no where to be found. The sources said that there is need for govt to step in to see the dangerous happenings in AOCOED. @VONN.VOICEOUTNIGERIA NEWS

VONN joins other Nigerians to condemn the diabolic corporate culture of Sokoloan. Our decision to do this stemmed from the cruel and barbaric way Naomi, one of their customers was treated recently. This is vicious and tends to confirm the news making the round that a woman committed suicide due to the gruesome act of SOKOLOAN. VONN sees this as dishonourable and totally a divergence from the modern day loans scheme approaches. |
Did u read the post at all before calling her the fraud, that she had done previously and never defaulted, just this once is maring her name already after 3 weeks, I bet you are one of their workers, if you are a true nigerian and not brainwashed you should know this is wickedness and it must stop, no one not even your enemy should go through what she is going through with a slandered reputation, now tell me after contacting her clients and calling her a fraud, how do they expect she gets their money? That's totally nonsense, asides that the terms and conditions never stated that ones name will go public on deformation if loan isn't paid on time, a life had already been lost just january because of same kind of intimidation and embarrassment, is this one nigeria or kill nigerians..... Are u not a nigerian. May no one ever go through such. |
BREAKING NEWS! BEWARE OF SOKOLOAN... PREDATORY LENDING IS REAL!!! This happened to my sister of recent. She applied for a domestic loan on Sokoloan online platform to the tune of 14k. She was billed N6, 433 in interest (i. e an outrageous 45%interest for a 10 day loan. This meant that she was to pay back N20, 433 ten days from the time she secured the loan. Fast forward to 10 days time. She was unable to meet up with the loan repayment, and thus demanded for more time when contacted. 3 weeks after that, on the 15th of feb, she got a report that the following message was being circulated to all her phone contacts, including key business clients. The report read thus: "Attention! The Name: Naomi So and So with phone number XXXXXXXXXX is acting fraudulent, Has defaulted in her repayment of loan to a chinese lending company (Sokoloan) by collecting a loan and refusing to pay back. The public is advised to take caution of her, until she pays back the company money. NOTEWORTHY is the fact that the actual amount owed or even the exorbitant interest added was conveniently ommited from this highly defamatory message, giving the impression that She may have defrauded the company of a huge amount of money.. (if that isn't predatory, what is it then? To make matters worse, when the customer care was called by the upset young lady to demand why her character should be so defamed after just three weeks of default, she was rewarded with more insults and threats and called unmentionable names. This from a Chinese firm? In a related report @nairaland, a similar incident just occured involving this same sokoloan. A woman who had lent 8k to pay back 15k in 14 days time was meted this same horrible treatment few days after she defaulted that ended in the victim taking her own life as a result of the ensuring embarassment. Now if this isnt predatory and evil, what is?? Now my point is this... A country that cannot protect its citizens from exploitation from foreigners and evil loan extablishments, is this fair? Where are the regulatory bodies that are supposed to be guiding the exploitative activities of these shylocks whose major aim remains to capitalize on the vulnerability of our poor economy and defraud Nigerians by the millions? #This is unacceptable! #Sokoloan is a fraud that must be shut down #Naomi is now threatening to sue for grevious defamation of character. #Naomi has been timely with her repayments on previous loan transactions. Why defame her now on a little default? I stand with Naomi on this! Its time to be the change we seek. Below are the hotlines of the fradulent sokoloan: 08148799371. 01 - 4536792 Lets all register our displeasure by sending them a message. Remember, all for one, one for all. PLS RESHARE. WE CAN MAKE THIS GO VIRAL. GOD BLESS YOU. |
@VON News. Following the recent town hall meeting held in honour of the Edo state governor, His Excellency. Mr. Godwin Obaseki, by the Unuedo Renaissance Group, a body of Edo professionals, in Lagos, Edo state born business mogul, publisher and newspaper columnist, Ambassador Cyril Ezewele, has declared Gov. Obaseki a technocrat due to his astuteness. Ezewele who is the publisher of the book, "The Enemy called corruption" Professed that those who desire the governor to propitiate self seeking influencial people to the detriment of the entire Edo people are proponents of Edo underdevelopment, pointing that the refusal of the governor to heed the pressure of certain retrogressive who desire to sustain the backward statusquo is a golden phenomenon which should be appreciated, not criticised. Describing the approach of Obaseki which has placed him at daggers drawn with the erstwhile governor of Edo, state, comrade Adams Oshiomwhole as a needed roadmap to ending godfatherism in the state. Ezewele noted that no conscious group or generation can lure or persuade a governor to condone acts of executive recklessness, devastating corruption and retrogressive tendencies which held tightly to the jugular of the state that direly needed transparency, accountability and creativity in the past. He clamoured for support for Obaseki whom he referred to as a man of vision, focus and uncommon Political passion to tame the tyrants and render Edo, state a hub of socio- economic activities, that will be grossly attractive to foreign and local investors, stressing that the governor has only maintained that it will no longer be business for desperate fortune seekers who wish to slay the state to stay alive. "If it will be possible for the Constitution to be reviewed to favour great thinkers like Obaseki to retain leadership for as long as possible it would be fine for the collective good of the Edo nation. See how he is dealing with officials and public office holders who are misappropriating funds believing that public fund is for self aggrandisement. " It is a thing of joy that Edo sons and daughters will cease to embark on dangerous migrations or sojourns to Europe where they suffer undue slavery. "Some Edo children running from a vicious and meaningless polity end up dying in the Mediterranean", Ezewele professed. On what more to do, Ambassador Ezewele urged the governor to win greater public trust through a monthly or quarterly publication of government activities, incomes and expenditures, emphasizing that already, Edo people who will no longer wallow in ignorance have thrown their weight behind Obaseki so that he could totally lead Edo state out of any form of quagmire that slowed down the pace of development in the state in the past. At the town hall meeting which held at Ikeja, Lagos State and attended by a thronging population of Edo professionals, interest groups, media practitioners, Chiefs from Edo and Lagos States and a host of other well meaning Nigerians ,the Edo state governor promised to be restive about building a state where wealth will be created to enhance living. He also promised to build collapsed structures or institutions to pave the way for a new dawn that will project Edo state as a state to beat by the year 2050. Reporting Princess Agbonifo.

Lagos, March 21, 2019 The Institute of Road Transport Workers (IRTW) on Thursday empowered 200 trainee driver graduates in Lagos. The Chairman of the institute, Mr AbdulRahman Adeyemi, made this known during the biometrics capturing of the beneficiaries. Adeyemi said that the Micro-Bus Scheme (MES) was a package of social-benefit incentives for registered trainees of institute. He added that while training was the core mission of IRTW, MES was only a tactical instrument of instigating voluntary submission to knowledge acquisition by road transport operators in Nigeria. He said that the IRTW was incorporated as a platform of human capacity in the development of the road transport sector through orientation, academic and professional training. He added that owing to the degeneration of the road transport sub sector, the institute developed a society-based approach and adopted same through Public-Private Partnership scheme. He said it was a transitional scheme by which road transporters could acquire elevation into higher pedestals. Mr Rasheed Olokode, the Director of IRTW, said that buses would be given to beneficiaries of the training at the rate of N1.2 million. Olokode said that the beneficiaries would pay N2,500 daily for 18 months. He noted that the money covered the bus, fees and all other costs accrued. He said that the selection was borderless and cut across all strata of road workers. The target of the institute, he said, was to institutionalise credible data base for road transport operators in Nigeria and elevation of the informal transport workers. A beneficiary, Mr Bolade Babajide, who responded on behalf of others, said they had learnt a lot from the training. Babajide said that his hope of making a living had been raised because he had no means of getting a bus. He appealed to other beneficiaries not to default in the daily repayment “because the institute has really helped us.”

Gudumbali attack: Troops’ superiority over Boko Haram demonstrates confidence in Buhari’s leadership Coalition for Truth and Justice on Monday said the promptness with which troops of the Nigerian army responded and repelled the Boko Haram attack in Gudumbali inspires hope and confidence in the Nigerian army and it's leadership to protect the country. The group in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Charles Timothy esq. said the troops did not just repel the terrorists but also regained control of the entire local government and its headquarters. According to him, the Gudumbali battle hold significant relevance because it is evident that the aim of the insurgents for attacking a military base can only be for one reason, to acquire more arms. He explained that this is further proof to the position of the Federal Government that the Boko Haram terrorists have been degraded and defeated and have lost most of their tools for terrorizing the civil populace, adding that this last desperate attempt cannot therefore be viewed from any other angle other than what it is, a desperate push to rebuild their base which has failed. According to him, that the terrorists are making attempt at a local government headquarters further supports the position of the federal government that they no longer control any local government in Nigeria. Timothy said but most importantly is the marked difference between how the troops have improved over time and their in reading resolve and commitment to the cause of securing our nation unlike what was obtainable in the past. He said, "in this particular instance, we have seen a military which once operated with a dampened moral that it fled from such attacks , now immediately regaining momentum, restrategising and plummeting the ranks of the attackers in the fraction of a second. "We have seen a military that is firmly rooted that it is no longer taken aback or wearied by irritable provocations. This can only possible with a troop that is not just high in moral but has been equipped with the right tools and weapons to prosecute such operations. This also is statement of confidence on the military high command." He however stressed that as the military continues to make sacrifices so that the territorial integrity of the nations remains intact and people are safe enough to go about their normal business, Nigerians must defeat the naysayers who want to cash in on any incident to ridicule our resolve to fly above fear and unnecessary panic. He said, "There was an instance recently when someone claimed there was bomb in Maiduguri whereas there was none. We must as a people come to terms with the fact that in our midst, are people who celebrate only the negative but are silent when the nation scores a point. "It is perhaps because of this that some have held unto the reports of the initial attack at Gulumbari but have completely ignored the counter force mobilized in the twinkle of an eye which sent the insurgents fleeing. "We commend the Nigerian military for rising to the occasion and we urge all citizens to continue to pray for the well-being and success of the troops as they are peopled by personnel who also have families and relations and feel pains like the rest of us." |
Normalcy returns to Borno community, CJTF, locals confirm Following Boko Haram's latest strike in Borno State, some members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) and residents of the community say peace has been restored. Many people were reportedly killed after insurgents dressed in military uniforms carried out an attack in Gundumbali town in Guzamala Local Government Area. Local residents and witnesses had revealed that the militants from Boko Haram Takfiri terrorist group struck on Friday evening causing panic but were immediately repelled by troops who returned fire for fire immediately . .While admitting the attack, the local vigilante group, however, revealed that normalcy has been restored in the area. “It is true that the Boko Haram stormed the town shooting sporadically," a JTF member, who pleaded to remain anonymous said. “But together with the help of the army, we were able to repel them, forcing them to retreat.” Natives, who were frightened by the latest strike, were thankful to the Nigerian Army for rising up to the occasion. Salisu Musa, a commercial motorcyclist, had to be forced to abruptly close for the day due to the attack but was quick to add that despite some fear in the community, people can still be seen going about their businesses . He said “they were saying if you know you're an innocent person just leave the town, our target is not you, or if you wish to stay with us, it's no matter, you can stay with us." "They came towards the town shooting in the air. But the army gave their all and battled them to salvage the situation.” Another eye witness, simply identified as Ramatu, was spotted engaging on her routine business activities. “AS you can see, everywhere is safe now. I’m doing my business without any fear, “ she claimed. Musa Mohammed, another native was glad that the whole tragedy was averted through the timely intervention of the military . According to him, his people have suffered enough and hope this will be the last of such debacle. |
2019: Borno Senator, Ndume warned to desist from forming new Boko Haram A senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Alhaji Ali Ndume, has been urged not to hit up the polity to avoid renaissance of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. Ndume, is a two-time House of representative member seeking third-term in the Green Chamber. The former Senate Majority Leader was reportedly linked as sponsor of Boko Haram in 2011. This alleged connection to the Islamic fighters was made following the State Security Service's interrogation of a suspected Boko Haram member and spokesman, Mallam Ali Konduga. Ndume’s trial is still ongoing yet the Gwoza-native has continued to make conflicting statements about the sect - something which hasn’t gone down too well with civil society group known as Borno Integrity Forum. The group questioned Ndume's moral right to grant an interview alleging fear over the resurgence of the terrorist sect. Ndume had claimed to be “ worried on the sudden resurgence of Boko Haram in the North east” following series of fresh attacks in the region. However, the Borno-based group has “ noted with concern the syndicated interview granted by the Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Senator Ali Ndume, in which he supposedly expressed worries about resurgence of Boko Haram in the North East. “We view the said interview granted by Senator Ndume as most unfortunate given the contradictions and ironies it entails. “The Senator is currently standing trial for being a Boko Haram sponsor and is therefore least competent to publicly offer suggestions on what is to be done to the terrorists since this could be interpreted as grandstanding before the courts to lessen the severity of the punishment he could get if convicted.” According to the group, multi-personality, Ndume, has been talking from two sides of his mouth. They accused Ndume of profiting from the insurgency during elections and urged him to avoid unleashing similar mayhem out of desperation to win his way back to the upper chambers. In their words made public by Ali Abbas, National Coordinator: “Considering that the intellectual, political and media arms of Boko Haram have engaged the Nigerian state in a propaganda war further makes Senator Ndume’s intervention suspect as it could have been made to sway public opinion in favour of the terrorists. “This is evident in the way he agreed that Boko Haram has been defeated in one breadth and in the next one expressed concern that the group has resurged. He categorically asserted that scores of troops have been killed and in the next breadth attributed his assertion to allegations. “Such prevarications mirror the kind of interventions he was engaged in before his cover was blown and he was dragged before the court to answer for his ties with the terrorists. We see his offer to visit military chiefs to discuss Boko Haram as mischievous since he has already offered the insight he has in the market square through the reported interview. Of course, for a man who knows how Boko Haram came into being and where the bodies are buried, he may have classified information to volunteer to the military about how to diffuse the killer group he helped created. He should have done that in the most discreet matter without turning something as serious as security into a political circus. The statement added: “Senator Ndume’s sincerity in making the intervention is doubtful since his intention has always been to empty the communities in his constituency of human population so that he can continue to return to the National Assembly without the actual intervention of the ballot box. “Senator Ndume, having benefitted largely from people being driven out of their homes, is finding it difficult to sleep now that successful military operations have made it possible for people to return to their homes and available to actually vote in the 2019 elections. “The Senator’s expression of worry is therefore apparently a bid to again have the people scampering out of their towns and villages so that there would be no voters left to sack him at the polls. The worry he has expressed rankles considering that the very people he left without food, clothes and other life’s essentials languished in camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) without a Senator Ali Ndume visiting them to provide succour. “While he has thought they will remain in the IDPs camps in perpetuity, the military has thankfully cut short their sojourn in hell and their oppressor is today consigned to cooking up stories to cause alarm and keep the camps open till after elections. “ Further more, the group urged the judiciary to fasten his trial to ascertain the real cause of the insurgency. They also urged the Federal Government to effectively put measures in place to avoid the sect being used as political tools while advising Ndume to desist from resurrecting the sect. “Borno Integrity Forum is therefore appealing to the judiciary to expedite the trial of Senator Ndume so that there could be closure for the people of Borno state,” they revealed. “We equally urge the Federal Government to take active steps to prevent Boko Haram from being reactivated as a political tool for those wishing to exploit the group for the next General Elections. “In the meantime, we advise Senator Ali Ndume to stop playing politics with the safety of his people and face the electorates at the polls like his counterparts in the progressive and peaceful constituencies of the country are doing. If there is a resurgence of Boko Haram as he wants the world to believe, he bears the burden of explaining his role in the development since he has a track record of such involvement.” |
Boko Haram: How not to venerate the sacrifices of our military By Inuwa Suleiman One of the greatest challenges to fighting terrorism are the loopholes that exist because of the democratic tenets that nations subscribe to. Often manifesting as rights conferred on citizens by the constitution of the country, like freedom of expression, provisions that were intended as safeguards are exploited by terrorists to commit their wicked acts without having to answer for their crimes. When terrorists hide under such rights, it becomes difficult for the security and law enforcement agencies to go after them as they would have gone after those with guns and explosives. It is a major frustration in dealing with extremism and terrorism around the world. It is a catch twenty two for those fighting terrorism. They can kill off the gun wielding and explosive carrying terrorists as much as possible. But the bigger threat is from those that deploy intellectual resources to incite the fighters, demonize the state and sow terror in the heart of citizens with their words. It does not help that those who belong to this intellectual arm of terrorism wear a toga of respectability that makes them highly believable and seemingly untouchable. They are often “respected clergy”, activists, pseudo-journalists like Ahmad Salkida and just any other position that tend to confer a semblance of immunity from being called to account for being a terrorist. One Dr Idris Ahmed of Citizens United for Peace and Stability [CUPS] understands this dynamic and is milking it for all its worth. His past time of terrorists’ supporting is done in the open as he continually heckles the military as his contribution to distract those that are committed to sacrificing their lives to buy Nigerians peace. Sadly, shutting down Dr Idris Ahmed is not going to be an easy task as he has been able to set up multiple smokescreens that give him the façade or respectability – he poses as an NGO that is out to provide relief, he impersonates as an activist, pretends to be a journalists and grandstands as an activist. Yet, the closest description that fits Dr Idris Ahmed is the hook-handed Mustafa Kamel Mustafa also known as Abu Hamza al-Masri, who hid behind the respectability of being a clergy to preach hate and back terrorism in the United Kingdom. For a long time that country did not know what to do with him and how to deal with his excesses because he has human rights such as freedom of expression as a shield. It took the United States to jail Hamza at a high security, Colorado prison ADX Florence after he was convicted of all 11 charges on terrorism offences preferred against him at Manhattan’s Federal Court. Dr Idris Ahmed as Nigeria’s Abu Hamza has been preaching hate against the Nigerian military and its personnel in the hope that he can turn citizens against the institution and win some advantage for the militant wing of his terror cell. It has since been discovered that Dr Idris Ahmed is being instigated by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and other dissident elements that are desirous of a weakened Nigerian Army. His strategy is to blackmail the Federal Government with its war against Boko Haram and other terrorist elements. This has manifested as series of misleading reports that alternate between extreme assertions that have been repeatedly proven false or facts distorted beyond comprehension. He would accuse the military of being ineffective in fighting terrorists and in the same breadth accuse them of scorch earth approach in decommissioning terrorists’ camps. He will champion cutting off funding to the military and in the very next minute accuse the institution of not providing enough hardware for troops to take on insurgents. He has recently come to layer these confused ranting with allegations that funds are being diverted, something stated categorically as he held the purse strings of the military operations in the North-East and is conversant with what came into the military’s coffers and what was spent. But Dr Idris Ahmed has been unable to verify his claims. What has consequently happened was that he took to Facebook to announce massive corruption in the Nigerian military but was soon out of his depth as he was not able to substantiate his claims. He had to return to the same Facebook to attempt crowd sourcing evidence and documents to save face after it became apparent that Nigerians who are ticked off by his antics were on the way to exposing him as a man that lacks no information about the war against terrorism, one that runs his mouth like someone currently abusing psychotropic substances. His attempt at crowd sourcing military documents have even been flagged by some people as code for seeking latest information on troops logistics so that he can deploy the intelligence so gathered in the service of the terrorists to who he has been linked. This is one conjecture that Dr Idris Ahmed has not come out to debunk, which tends to lend credence to the claim. Given the spate of ambush on troops in recent weeks, this is one direction that the military, especially the Directorate of Military Intelligence, should pay attention to. They need to monitor and analyse the chatter on all the online platforms where Dr Idris Ahmed ply his poison because the interactive sections of such platforms may host forum where terrorists freely share ideas. The only nuisance value coming from this man so far is that he guessed right by targeting the army as the institution that stood between Nigeria and Boko Haram with other extreme groups like IMN, which made it eligible for demonization and constant attacks. Other facts that he had attempted to manipulate simply failed to fly. All he tried to adduce did not add up. All the allegations that he made against the army in the fight against Boko Haram turned out to be lies for which he now desperately shop for evidence to make stick. The Nigerian Army was fortunate that for the first time its efforts have been noticed by Nigerians who expressed overwhelming support for its operations contrary to the desire of the terrorists’ supporter to discredit the organization. The respectable thing for Dr Idris Ahmed to do now that the Nigerian Army has been vindicated is to tender unreserved apologies to Nigerians and the commanders he has maligned. Such apology must however only be considered as deserved from a moral perspective, something to redeem whatever if anything is left of his soul and humanity. On the legal front, Dr Idris Ahmed should be tried for aiding and abetting terrorism, managing propaganda for terrorists, colluding to leak sensitive military documents, passing state intelligence to terrorists and any other indictments that would give him 11 counts charge of terrorism like Abu Hamza. This charge for terrorism is something that authorities must immediately work on as we must not like the UK wait for the United States to request the extradition of Dr Idris Ahmed of CUPS for supporting terrorism before we act to stop his evil work. The country must be categorical in putting an end to people hiding behind the safeguards provided by democracy to preach hatred and openly support terrorism. Igbo group tells Nigeria govt to declare Islamic Movement terrorist organization The South East- Renewal Group (SERG) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to declare the Islamic Movement of Nigeria a terrorist organization. SERG said it had observed the dangerous activities of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), whose terrorism appears to have the blessing of the Federal Government as not much has been done to deal with it the same dispatch with which the IPoB problem was addressed. The group said the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, did not commit half of atrocities that IMN has committed and continue to commit but no action has been taken against them. SERG wondered why the IMN continues to operate freely across the country while IPOB was immediately curtailed and its activities outlawed. It said despite overwhelming evidence and testimonies the IMN has remained a lawless group that continues to torment the citizens while regularly confronting security agencies in the country. Charles Mbani, National President, at a press conference said IMN has repeatedly shut down the Business District in Abuja with its violent protests while the authorities watch with closed lips. Mbani said, "Each time these protests shut down businesses, the majority of them are Igbo businesses that are now being driven to the brink as they are unable to carry out their legitimate activities because of an illegal group. "The violent nature of the IMN protests is a threat to the life and safety of all Nigerians because it is a matter of time before more people are either killed or maimed as the group’s members continue to become more daring. "We are aware, from what we have been picking up from news reports that the IMN has a well-stocked armory made up of weapons supplied by the Islamic Republic of Iran. What we are unsure of is whether the military and security agencies in Nigeria are scared of confronting IMN because of the extent of the arsenal at the group’s disposal. "It is obvious that more damage is being done to the integrity of Nigeria as a nation for every single day that these group continues to operate as a parallel state and promote hate speech targeted at citizens that do not subscribe to the ideology of their sect. It equally continues to recruit, give military training to, and radicalize youths that it then deploy against the Nigerian state. "SERG hereby calls on the Federal Government to file a suit for the judiciary to designate IMN as a terrorist organization as provided in the nation’s anti-terrorism laws. The Attorney General should be direct to immediately institute this suit. "Where the federal government fails to initiate the process of designating IMN as a terrorist organization, we demand that Nigeria consequently allows IPoB and Boko Haram to operate freely without let. The government must then also take steps to delist these groups as terror organizations. "Our belief is that allowing IPoB and Boko Haram to operate freely like IMN will prove to the world that there are no ethnic or sentimental considerations behind the Federal Government’s decision not to designate IMN as a terror group. "The equality of existence guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) must be upheld as sacrosanct such that not one group of persons are treated as being above the rest of us simply because they belong to IMN." |
UK based Nigerian paid £2million to blackmail military, group alleges A civil society group under the auspices Coalition of Arewa CSO for Progress and Change, has cried out over the activities of one Dr. Idris Ahmed of the Citizens United for Peace and Security (CUPS) organization, based in the United Kingdom has received Two Million Great Britain Pounds to undermine Nigeria’s national security. The Arewa group said Ahmed has been paid over 1billion naira by enemies of the Nigerian State to blackmail the military. Jacob Ogwuche, National President of the Coalition made this shocking revelation at a news conference in Abuja. According to Ogwuche, the coalition is fully aware of the plot to discredit the Nigeria Military by some unscrupulous persons who have seen a willing tool in Ahmed and CUPS for the propagation of the campaign of defamation. He said, “We are also aware that Dr. Idris Ahmed and his CUPS organization is heavily funded by some categories of people highlighted below: Political Office Holders indicted for acts of corruption, The Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Defectors to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , and some Disgruntled People in Government. “While we might not want to join issues with Dr. Idris Ahmed in his ill-conceived agenda, we are constrained to put the issues in proper perspective. “Dr. Idris Ahmed is heavily funded to sustain the attack on the Nigeria Military through his CUPS organization supposedly based in the United Kingdom. “In times past, he has boasted to all and sundry that he has overwhelming evidence against the military and corrupt acts being perpetrated by officers, but unfortunately, he has been unable to author a single petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). “The curious aspect of his activities is that he is now practicing the whistle blowing policy on Facebook, calling members of the public to furnish him with evidence against any military officers in return for a cash reward. “In one of such posts on Facebook, he stated thus “We at CUPS are patriotic Nigerians. We are determined to save Nigeria and Nigerians from peril, by whatever lawful means. We have no fear of anyone who is corrupt, no matter what their position is in human society. To this end, we are at this moment offering an immediate cash reward of N10, 000 to anyone who furnishes us with authentic information that could be used to prosecute any corrupt military officer. We have put aside the sum of N1, 000, 0000 (1 million Naira) for this project.” “While we find this curious, to say the least, we are appalled by the sudden turnaround by the so-called agent of anti-corruption who once boasted that he has overwhelming evidence of acts of corruption against military officers. “We find such doublespeak signs of a man that is eager to misinform the general public in return for financial rewards; we also frown at the fact that most social media platforms such as Facebook had become mediums with which acts of terrorism are carried out due to the convenience, affordability, and its broad reach. “It is also instructive to state Dr. Idris Ahmed recently took another wife from funds he received from his paymasters to destabilize the government by deliberately spreading falsehood. “We are constrained to state that if measures are not put in place by Facebook to block the account of Dr. Idris Ahmed from spreading falsehood and encouraging acts of terrorism in Nigeria, we might muster concerned Nigerians to sue Facebook in a court of competent Jurisdiction. How Ahmed Idris is being funded to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Military is attachee below: 1. Political officers that were compulsorily retired = N50million. 2. IMN = N250million. 3. Defectors to PDP = N500million. 4. Disgruntled elements in government = N25million. |

Middle Belt group cautions against incessant attacks on military leadership, ...Says politicians must appreciate gains made by Buratai, others A Middle Belt pressure group, the Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG), has condemned what it described as incessant attacks on the military leadership through promotion of falsehood, in an attempt to distract the military from the onslaught against the Boko Haram insurgency and other violent threats to humanity. The group wondered why an army and its leadership that have made sacrifices to restore normalcy to troubled regions in the country will still be a target of relentless attacks. Addressing journalists in Jos , national coordinator of the group, Prince Raymond Enero, said the military has done remarkably well and should not be distracted by politicians who want to score cheap political points. Enero argued that the attacks on the military leadership is the handiwork of unpatriotic individuals who wants to continue to keep Nigeria perpetually boiling in avertable crisis He said it is germane to acknowledge that without the determined intervention of the Army, Nigeria would still have been enslaved by the raging merchants of blood and death across the country . "it could have been worse had the Nigerian Army abdicated on its constitutional responsibility while on these special assignments. We peered into the face of the Northeast now and then, to arrive at these proud testimonies," he said. He therefore said it is rather unfortunate that some individuals would still want the country to return to such dark days and have shown their displeasure with the gains recorded by the military in the insurgency war. He said, "suffice it to say, there have been no pretensions in frustrating the Buhari Presidency and these agents are very determined and that’s why we seek the understanding of the public. "But to us, their determination is irrelevant; neither would the weakening temptations of burying the truth and promoting falsehood, throw us into confusion. We still look at the future with brighter hope under a Buhari Presidency and the leadership of Nigerian Army, by the COAS, Lt. Gen. TY Buratai in securing the lives and property of our people in the Northeast and anywhere else in the country. "we are excited to observe that the effrontery and impunity which insurgents staged their repugnant atrocities has been checkmated by a tireless, rebranded and focused Nigeria Military, especially the Army, with the COAS, Lt. Gen. TY Buratai, leader of the counter-insurgency operations, personally leading the onslaughts against terrorists. The positive results and victories are visible even to the blind. "it is further attested by reclaimed territories, liberation of thousands of Boko Haram captives, the ongoing rebuilding of the ravaged and devastated Northeast region and the gradual depletion of stranded populations in IDPs camps. To say normalcy has been substantially achieved in the hitherto troubled region is stating the obvious. According to him, the group has no reason to doubt that Nigerian troops have done and are still doing their best to maintain this peace for nearly three years of the administration of President Buhari, as noticeable in the pervading calm in a region once troubled by agents of darkness and crude violence. Enero expressed confidence that the enemies of state and Nigerians cannot succeed under whatever guise, because Nigeria now has an Army truly competent. "Therefore, no Nigerian should be deceived into believing it is the same game as usual. Under Gen. Buratai, aside the inviolable standards of office transparency and accountability, through his various reforms of the Army, every soldier now knows he is not insulated from personal accountability while serving the nation. "the milestones achieved by this arm of the military springs from the qualitative leadership instituted by the Army Chief, as evident in its victorious conquests of Boko Haram terrorists and other insurrectional forces," he said.
