HOW IKOTUN POLICE DIVISION, LAGOS FIRE SERVICE PREVENTED FIRE EXPLOSION IN LAGOS. @VONNEWS On 25th June, a tanker laden with the popular premium motor spirit, pms otherwise known as petrol, fell across the road at the Abaranje road junction of the ever busy Ijegun road while trying to veer unto the major road from the narrow Abaranje road. The instantaneous response of the Divisional Police Officer of the Ikotun police division who led his men to barricade off the danger zone to avoid calamities saved the day. Men of the fire service also arrived to prevent outbreak of fire, emergency responses which stopped the possibility of fire outbreak that would have enveloped the area, including the famous Twins Faja Filling station and stores. After the rapid intervention of the relevant safety authorities, the tanker was removed for traffic normalcy to end the tension which gripped residents. It is however wrong for anyone to believe one Apex reporter Chukwudi Samuel who write hatefully about the management of Twins Faja as the one who attempted to burn down the neighbor hood. How Landlord Has Been Scaling Fence Into His House After Blocked By Neighbour For 15 Years MICHAEL AKINOLA Freedom of movement and unhindered access to Citizens may be a mirage for a landlord, Martin Egbunihe who has been blocked access by fellow landlord, Ishola Idowu for the past 15 years in Igando, Lagos. The house in question is located formerly at 45, Nureni Agbolagbade Avenue, now 45, Alhaji Kareem Paku , off Alhaji Ede bus stop, Igando, Lagos State. The landlord, Ishola, Idowu, who returned from USA wanted expansion of his story building, took advantage of Egbunihe's absence from his house due to vehicle accident he had, blocked street access to his property, despite protests from the landlords Association members. Mr Ishola who had thought Egbunihe will die in the accident quickly erected the fence to cover Egbunihe's own building to take over his building. However, Egbunihe did not die after spendin several weeks years at Orthopaedic and eventually recovered. When Egbunihe recovered and went to inspect his house, he discovered that Ishola has used fence to block entrance to his house and when he confronted him, Ishola asked him to sell his house to him or he will not have access to his own house. The alleged provocative and unlawful actions by Idowu was said to have been reported to the original family land owners of the area, who after confronting Idowu without success, in collaboration with some residents took the matter to the Oba of Igando, Oba Gbadamosi. The Oba, who allegedly was aware of issues surrounding Idowu’s purchase of land in the area, intervened and set up a committee , which agreed in their deliberations that Idowu must pull down his obnoxious fence blockade, hindering Egbunihe from having access into his house. Ishola who allegedly is notoriously in the area for his reckless flaunting of his wealth and boasting of his high contacts in government, allegedly disregarded the Oba’s committee decision which the Oba’s peace committee report compelled Egbunihe to petition the Lagos State government, through the office of the Physical Planning on the 2nd of October, 2013, which was responded to by the same office on 18th February, 2014, through a letter signed onbehalf of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry , by (TPL ) Mr. Adams Raji,( PTPO Technical Service Department). The Ministry subsequently despatched a team led by Mr. Murtata Adekunle Balogun which the physical planning officers marked the controversial fence illegal and ordered for its demolition . However, the physical planning office was yet to demolish the said blockade, as residents alleged that they were compromised by the same Idowu . For several years, Egbunihe has been trapped as two of his neighbors constructed their fences on one end and a building on the other end, thereby preventing him in and preventing his vehicle from gaining access to his home. Egbunihe , also alleged that Idowu Ishola built a fence on a portion of the road set aside by government , as the entrance to his property , thereby, leaving inadequate space for his cars to go through. According to him, ” Idowu’s fence is illegal and had been declared so by the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development , which had marked the said fence for demolition, as it contravened building regulations. ” Egbunihe said: "For over 7 years after, Idowu has failed , neglected and refused to act ,despite all entreaties, potential tenants have refused to rent my property because of the limited access, thereby rendering the building fallow.” In his petition, he said, ” I bought two plots of land located at the above address, from the Igando community, receipted and surveyed , my property used to be accessed from the Southern end but when the government expanded and fenced Alimosho General hospital, there was a common access left adjacent to number 43, which was my former second plot on the same street, now taken away from me by Mr. Ishola Idowu. ” “I had started developing part of the land in 1994, after surveying the two plots before I had a ghastly motor accident, which took me away to an orthopaedic hospital in Enugu State, where I under went series of surgeries for more than one year and survived. ” “When I recovered and rejoined my family in Lagos, I visited the property and discovered that one out of my two plots of land , have been collected by one Mr. Ishola Idowu and he had started building, living one part on which I built a three bedroom flat . I struggled and made several efforts to recover the plot , as I went and consulted the Oba of igando, the Oba pleaded with me to accept my faith and develop the one plot that I had already started work on.When I went back for medical check up at the Orthopedic hospital in Enugu, before i returned, Same Mr. Idowu had constructed a fence and blocked an entrance to my remaining plot of land, thereby, denying me access to my house ” ” I invited the Igando community ,(omo – onile )land sellers and landlord Association, who went to discuss with Mr. Idowu.” “After all efforts failed, the Igando community and land seller gave me a space from another street called ‘ Naiyeju ‘, adjacent to my house, about 15 feet wide, as an alternative way to enter with a car ,which I immediately put a small gate , about 3 to 4 feet from my fence to the space”. “surprisingly, one man by name Mr. Raphael ( A.k.a Baba Laide, a block maker whose office was very close to the space, went and built three rooms on the space that was given to me as an alternative and blocked me from Naiyeju street.” “For over 15 years now, I have been pleading with Idowu and Baba Laide with cartoons of drinks and money, to release about 8 feet of those lands , to allow a vehicle to enter into my compound but all efforts proved abortive .” Egbunihe in tears, said that he even offered to pay for the 8 feet land space that ought to be his own and even rebuild Idowu’s fence but to no avail . He noted that besides ignoring the directives from the Ministry of physical planning and Urban Development ordering him to demolish the fence blocking him, Idowu has also shunned similar directives by the Citizens Mediation Center in Alimosho Local Government Area , as well as instructions by the Oba of igando. Responding, Idowu had told Journalists that Egbunine Claims were false and ridiculous , Challenging him to go to court. However, he did not deny the fact that the Ministry had marked his fence for demolition. It was yet certain why the Ministry of Physical planning has refused to remove the fence so that Egbunihe will have access to his house over the years.

Feature: IS AOCOED SAFE FOR BOTH STAFF AND STUDENTS? @VONNEWS The Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Oto, Ijanikin, Lagos may seem serene on the surface, especially as the prestigious institution is in session and the campus appears calm, and academic activities are on going. But intrinsically, trouble might be lurking around the corner as echoes from the past may erupt soon to truncate the serenity and tranquility currently experienced in the academic community. The reason for this palpable fear is not unconnected with the protest by concerned members of the College Alumni Association on allegations of falsification of age, maladministration, incompetence, nepotism, embezzlement of funds, against the duo- Bursar, Mr.Adeyanju Adebisi and Registrar, .S.A.O.Muhideen. The protest over these abnormalities which was known to the Independent Civil Society of Nigeria and the Special Adviser to the Lagos state governor *on Education* ,Barr. Tokunbo Wahab who tasked the Provost, Prof.(Mrs.) Bilikis Bidemi Lafiaji- Okuneye, to set up an investigation committee to be headed by her, has yet to be solved, a reason the crises may resurface anytime soon. Strangest of the situation is the fact that, from every indication, the suspects and bones of contention (Registrar and Bursar) are still playing umpires in the case against them by remaining in their respective positions while the matter against them is being investigated. No doubt, as VONN reporter in her findings gathered that, it is only a question of time before trouble will brew again in the institution as quiet dissenting voices may come aloud again leading to cataclysmic reactions that may seriously break the fragile truce sustaining normalcy in AOCOED presently. Recall that, diverse atrocities were committed under the watch and at the instance of these suspects and their unknown cohorts near and far. For instance,Dr.Lazarus Gift, Vice Chairman of COEASU, was issued a strong warning; Comrade Adelakun Segun, Secretary NASU, was also warned; Chairman NASU, Comr.Badmus Adeshola was demoted and re deployed to Alausa;Comr.Wunmi Ombugadu, the chairman of SSUCUEN, was demoted and re deployed to Alausa ,Comr. Joyi, NASU member was equally demoted and re deployed; Comr.Ige Ajayi, *COEASU chairman*, was warned for organising a protest press conference; Secretary SSUCUEN, Comr.Afeez was relieved of his services abruptly, even as members of NATCEATAN were warned, threatened and harassed variously in the bid to gag concerned players and AOCOED development stakeholders who grew uncomfortable with the internal criminality dispensed from the sensitive *offices of the two principal officers in AOCOED*. This is also to understand that the Chairman of the current council, Prof Olasupo has been described as being incompetent to handle this case as he himself still draws salaries from the state government which is against all books establishing and guiding the day to day running of the college. *It is on record too and still fresh in the memory of stakeholders the case of fraudulent practices of the past administration and the last Governing Council led by Prof.Tunde Samuel , as that Governing Council flagrantly violated all the procurement regulations, which is a criminal offence..The breakdown of 2018 Accreditation fund is an indicator of this criminality. Part of the fraudulent practice of that Council is the TETFUND building meant for Thearter Arts and CCA which was to have been completed since last year is still at foundation level and the money for this project had been deemed to have been mismanaged There is therefore an urgent need for these suspects and their cohorts to be suspended *in order to pave way for justice to prevail,* particularly as they may be tampering with relevant documents and information so as to evade or escape judgement. MEDIA ORGANISATIONS AND JUSTICE NETWORK MARVEL AT 'MONKEY VILLAGE' MATTER, SEEK POLICE INQUEST @VONNEWS As the continual wrangling for the soul of the vast land( popularly known as Monkey Village) situated at Wole Ogunjimi/ Folorunsho St. Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos state, assumes a dangerous dimension as two media firms, Timeswatch News magazine/online, Voiceout Nigeria News(VONN) and Voice out Network, a society watch group, haven followed the development for a while now, have approached the zonal headquarters of the Nigeria police in Lagos to unravel the puzzle. The bodies who have prepared a document to the effect of the finding for the perusal of the Assistant Inspector- General of police, AIG, are bothered by the likely internecine crises that the struggle on the land may generate. Timeswatch, VONN and Voice out Network have on different occasions been invited by the Meadows/Amure families of Opebi , who currently is in possession of the Supreme Court Judgement on the land, over matters of invasion and encroachment by alleged land grabbers who has manifested in different guises. The Voiceout Nigeria News, VONN, on different occasions witnessed the invasions by the alleged grabbers who usually parade gun wielding and fierce officers that claim to be from the Zone 2 command and the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Lagos. The grabbers according to VONN, also use thugs who help scare everyone to pave the way for their illicit demolitions and constructions, especially as they are doing so on a property over which the apex court of Nigeria had given judgement on , to the rightful owners, the Meadows/Amures. Part of the concerns conveyed in the media practitioners' letter to the police authorities include the need for thorough investigation into the ownership of the property and why police are dispatched for such a mission. These police actions are essential for the purpose of nipping a breakdown of law and order in the land that may lead to blood shed. Recall that the Monkey Village had been in the news over cases of the invasion of land grabbers. By Naomi

IGBO PROGRESSIVES IN AMUWO ODOFIN CONDEMN LASIEC'S INDECISION AND HON. VALENTINE BURAIMOH'S INFIDELITY The Igbo progressives who recently joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, in March this year have expressed their disappointment over the party's inability to make decisions and stand on it. According to the Igbo progressives , Hon. Dipo Oloruninu of APC, was given the mandate to fly the flag of APC in the coming Lagos LG election sequel to his victory in the recent primary election held in Amuwo Odofin, but later some forces in Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC bowed to pressures from the defeated incumbent executive chairman, Engr.Valentine Buraimoh, and also gave him the party's form, a behaviour they called unfortunate and dangerous, especially as it could set the local govt on fire. The Igbo APC entrants noted that the confusion the double standard has created has set tongues wagging as to whether Hon. Dipo was truly chosen. They noted that this is the first time the Igbos will come out en mass to support a candidate who they strongly believe has the interest of the Igbos in mind. Lamenting further, the Igbos threatened that in subsequent elections, they will not show any form of interest in choosing any candidate of the APC, let alone coming out in large number to vote for such. More so , the Igbos said that their negative mentality about the APC changed since Hon. Dipo was chosen and an Igbo person selected as his vice, emphasising that this new development from LASIEC could further jeopardize the recent faith the Igbos have in the APC leadership. Hon. Valentine Braimoh has once again shown his incompetence and trickery by forging the recent result of the chairmanship primary elections, by obliterating Hon. Dipo's name and fixing his name instead, a name they said was already endorsed by LASIEC to take the people of Amuwo Odofin into the next level. They however affirmed " To this effect, we call on the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to save the name and integrity of the party in Lagos by looking into this matter to ensure that APC will always be firm and credible with their choices. "This recent attitude of Hon. Valentine will spell doom for the party". By Blessing Akuekwe

HOW MASTERS DEGREE HOLDER WAS SACKED AS DRAINAGE CLEANER FOR DISCLOSING N35,000 SALARY Posted on May 26, 2021 CYRIACUS IZUEKWE The Lagos State Ministry, which had engaged a graduate and Masters Degree holder from the Lagos State University, LASU, Mr. Toyemej Joseph Juwonlo and offered to pay him N35,000 every month as salary to clean drainages in Ikotun area of the state, has sacked him for disclosing his salary. P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that the father of three children, who is from Badagry area of Lagos, was sacked after he revealed his monthly salary as a drainage cleaner, which was hitherto kept secret within the Ministry. The Ministry officials were said to have become angry after the conditions of service were made public and the Governor asked to know why he was engaged with such ridiculous salary even as a Lagosian. However, instead of addressing the issue as requested by the Governor, he was asked to stop work without payment for the days he had cleaned drainages in the state. The embattled Juwonlo started work last month and had to trek from his house at Meiran area to Ikotun every morning to do the job after the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources had engaged him as Drainage Supervisor – meaning to clean gutters at the Ikotun axis. P.M.EXPRESS had reported that Juwonlo was engaged without any appointment letter and he was not sure of the condition of the work he was employed to do. With the sacked, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has confirmed that he can be sacked without payment for the number of days he had cleaned the drainages. The 49-year old Juwonlo studied Banking and Finance as first degree before he went for his Masters in Business Financing and had worked many places before he started his own business as a freight forwarder, which eventually collapsed due to the economic situation in the country. He was said to have been out of job since 2014 and could not feed his family. The embattled Juwonlo said that for the past seven years, he had written several applications, looked for both Government and private jobs to no avail before he was informed about the work to clean drainages under the Ministry and he decided to take the job instead of continuing to stay idle. He had earlier said that he did not know his fate in the job and did not know if it was a contract job or not but was told that it was from the Ministry. Juwonlo’s condition attracted many reactions from members of the public in Ikotun area, where he worked as many stressed that it was indicative that the Government is not ready to assist its citizens. Despite the meagre salary offered Juwonlo, which will not take care of his wife and children, his tale of woes has been compounded by the Government Ministry by sacking him from the job just for disclosing his salary.

NEWS: Lagos Landlord Decries The Illicit Activities Of LASBCA Personnels, Petitions the Police. @VONNEWS A Lagos landlord, Olayiwola Martin Luko, has petitioned the police authority, lamenting about the arbitrary invasion of his property and extortion tendencies. The petitioner who wrote through his lawyer, Barr.Adeshina Ogunlana, asked the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state and The General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency, LABSCA, to intervene towards checking the excesses of these lawless officials. According to the petition, a certain Engr. Ibitoye operating from the Bolade Oshodi Zonal Office of the agency, stormed Mr.Luko's property at 11,Akinpelu Street Oshodi with fictitious claims which were never substantiated through any legal documents. The petitioner expressed chagrin over the fact that his simple replacing of spoilt doors and windows on his property, has become a renovation and thus, a criminal act that drew the attention of Engr.Ibitoye and his superior, Engr. Ajanuku who variously demanded # 2,250,000 respectively in their office as fine for an unestablished offence. To make the move of the rampaging officials all the more suspicious, Engr.Ajanaku who could not present any legal order to the effect of her claims and she also declared her fines as negotiable inside their Bolade office. On the 7th of May, Engr. Ibitoye had stormed Luko's premises with 4 vehicles loaded with armed officers attached to the Lagos state Taskforce, Bolade and thugs, and cut the gate to it before securing it with chains and padlocks as was stated in the petition. Against these lawless moves which have greatly embarrassed Mr.Luko, the petitioner demands an apology letter from the LABSCA officials, which must be submitted to law chambers and published in 2 national dailies. Moreso, the sum of 20,000,000 million naira is demanded as damages from the LABSCA officials within one week of the receipt of the copy of the petition. When Olayiwola Luko spoke with the press on the matter, he said that it is obvious that the unlawful harassments by LABSCA officials may not be unconnected to the secret plots of some disgruntled family members who earlier lost in the legal tussle for the ownership this property. His lawyer, Barr.Ogunlana while talking, noted that it is terrorism of some sort to use public office for extortion and intimidation. Making a property better for occupants can never be the same as turning it from residential, this does not mean renovation. Barr.Ogunlana described sealing, harrassments and fines as criminality and gross indiscipline. By Onome Onojaefe

NEW CONSTITUTION, NOT SECESSION, IS SOLUTION TO NIGERIA’S PROBLEM–DON. By Oluwatope Lawanson A Constitutional and International Law expert, Dr Wole Kunuji, on Tuesday said that secession would not end the various agitations and unrest in some parts of the country. Rather, the don said, the most viable solution to the existential problem of Nigeria is to painstakingly and democratically work out a new constitutional framework. Kunuji, of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that secession would create potential economic, logistical and administrative difficulties. According to him, breaking away to start afresh will lead to fresh struggles for power and ascendancy within the new republics. Kunuji said that such new constitution would work out the parameters under which the several ethnicities and nationalities that constitute the Nigerian state could peacefully cohabit without sacrificing their age-long desires for significant local autonomy. “The Federal Government needs to urgently facilitate the birthing of a new constitution that will straighten out the terms of our collective existence as one indivisible state. “First, government should set up a Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC). made up of eminent constitutionalists drawn from all over the country. “The CDC should be asked to review the reports and recommendations of all constitutional conferences ever held in our checkered history as a state. “The CDC should also examine and review all our previous constitutional texts, especially the 1963 constitution which, by any yardstick, remains the most “federal” of all our constitutions till date. “A draft constitution prepared by the CDC should be submitted to a constituent assembly popularly elected for the purpose of thoroughly debating the draft constitution and membership of the constituent assembly should be drawn from all the 774 local governments in Nigeria. “Following the constituent’s assembly’s deliberation on and review of the draft constitution, a final draft adopted by the assembly should be presented to Nigerians for ratification at a properly conducted referendum “All Nigerians of voting age should be allowed to participate in this referendum,” he said The scholar opined that the way out for the present administration is to rise up to the occasion, jettison conservatism and put in motion the process for the birthing of a truly democratic constitution that is genuinely federal in character. He noted that the 1999 Constitution was an elitist framework foisted on Nigeria by the military on the eve of their departure from office in 1999. “It is a lifeless document that is completely detached from the reality of Nigeria. To dust up this document and insist that it is the basis on which Nigeria must be governed is to play the ostrich despite glaring deficiencies in our current governance arrangement. “The new constitution must foster unity without discountenancing diversity. “It must enhance togetherness without suppressing local autonomy. This, candidly, is the only way out for a multi-national state like Nigeria. “Our leaders must stand up to save the country from disintegrating by embarking on a genuine process of restructuring through a new constitutional framework. “Only then will our children and grandchildren be able to look back several years hence and say “this, indeed, was their finest hour,” Kunuji said. https://mikeosemeke./2021/05/18/new-constitution-not-secession-is-solution-to-nigerias-problem-don/ |
GTEXT HOMES PLANTS 2000 TREES IN LAGOS, ABUJA TO TACKLE GLOBAL WARMING. By Oluwatope Lawanson. A leading real estate developer, GText Homes, says it has planted more than 2000 trees in Ibeju- Lekki in Lagos and Lugbe in Abuja to help tackle the challenges of global warming. Chioma Orazulike, the company’s Business Developer Manager told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) that the Jasper Gardenier plant was named after the newly developed estate in Ibeju-Lekki. Jasper Gadenier plant has a very inviting scent that gives the environment a unique natural scent. Orazulike said the essence of the exercise was to create an eco-friendly environment that would go a long way to provide green and smart homes for Nigerians. According to her, this is to create awareness for all other real estate business developers to key in to the fact that they have to be conscious of the ever changes in global warming. She urged government at all levels to create more awareness on the importance of planting trees in our environment adding that it is also a way to mitigate the menace of deforestation, desertification, and erosion in the country. “Nigerians see forestation as an obstruction on land forgetting the importance of these plants to the environment, such as better oxygen quality, soil preservation, dynamic eco-system and most importantly climate amelioration. Government should therefore, consider the rigid implementation of laws that prevent unauthorized felling of trees,” she said She also urged Nigerians to make tree planting their priority as a way a sustaining their environment “It is key that we do lots of tree planting and start educating our children to know more about having clean environment. “This is actually our company policy in every part of the country we are building homes,”she said. She stressed the need for tree planting as one of the most effective solution to climate. She explained that tree planting helps to stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air. “As trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating “As homes developer, we want to create a sustainable environment habitable for everybody. “This is a necessity that is very safe for all which symbolises purity and cleaniness and we also believe we have to educate everybody on this. “Jasper Gardinier gives a tourch of luxury that can attract foreigners and most especially Nigerians in the diaspora. “When people move into our homes, they would experience the well being of the environment that has a good scent and eco friendly that they can leave in,” Orazulike said She noted that planting of tress in the environment also has direct economic benefits which includes; cooling costs are reduced in a tree-shaded home, and heating costs lowered when a tree serves as a windbreak. She added that homes with excellent landscaping enhances the sales appeal of real estate. https://mikeosemeke./2021/05/15/gtext-homes-plants-2000-trees-in-lagos-abuja-to-tackle-global-warming/ |

Family Raises Alarm Over Attempts To Release Suspects Behind Rotimi Adegoke's Murder MICHAEL AKINOLA The family of late Rotimi Adegoke has raised alarm over alleged plans by the Police at Adeniji Adele in Lagos to release suspects behind the killing of Rotimi during Party meeting in Alimosho Local government area. It was gathered that the suspects identified as Seun K was arrested with arms and ammunition and one De Royal Tadeyo who was captured on video on the day the late Rotimi was shot dead. It was gathered that one of the members of National Assemble and Party chieftain in Alimosho local government were said to trying to influence their release without even the knowledge of the deseased family. The late Rotimi Adegoke was brutally murdered during APC constituency meeting at Mosan Okunola area of Ipaja in Alimosho LGA, Lagos . Apart from the fact that the late Rotimi was reportedly shot dead by suspected hired thugs, the family was unable to retrieve his corpse for burial, given suspicion that he may have been secretly buried to cover the crime. The aggrieved mother of the late Rotimi, Mrs. Rachael Adegoke, said that since the incident happened on Saturday 27th March, 2021, the family had been looking for his corpse for burial to no avail and regretted that those behind the dastardly act were walking freely because no arrest had been reportedly made over the killing. The late Rotimi Adegoke was said to belong to a faction led by Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero, who had been agitating for Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo led G18 to give way for the reconstitution of new leadership so as to have equality in the Party in Alimosho area comprising six LCDAs, having stayed in leadership for over 20 years determining the fate of members in elective positions. This was said to have brought serious political disagreement between the Enilolobo group and Ejigbadero group including some youths who want a change of leadership. The late Rotimi Adegoke went for the Constituency meeting unknown to him that his group had already boycotted the meeting over security reports that the meeting will be violent and the information was passed to members not to attend but Rotimi did not receive the information and so attended the meeting. He was said to have attended the meeting and was identified as a member of Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero group and he had come to the meeting as an informant to his group and that was the last he was seen until the picture of what happened at the meeting surfaced on the social media over his death. Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero, who believed that the late Rotimi Adegoke was brutally murdered at the meeting because there were no traces of his corpse after the incident. He said that a petition had been written to the Police to investigate the murder and bring those behind the dastardly act to book. Rhe youths in Alimosho Local Government are not happy and are protesting over the death of late Rotimi Adegoke, who they described as a loyal party member, who had worked hard for the Party in Alimosho Local Government for many years before his death. They believed that if the cause of his death is swept under the carpet, such dastardly act will continue in Alimosho Local Government and so they want the Police to fish out the killers of Rotimi Adegoke, who was the bread winner of his family. NAFDAC Officer, Mrs Uba In A Mess For Seizing Blind Man's Used Bottles For Skirt Brandy MICHAEL AKINOLA What is happening to a blind man from Umuchu town in Aguata local Government area of Anambra State, Mr Samuel Ikeh can only be discribed as cruelty by the officials of NAFDAC led by one Mrs Uba and the director of Skirt brandy, Mr Emeka Ikeh in Lagos. Investigation revealed that Samuel got blind in Lagos and still continued his business of buying and selling empty used bottles with the help of his wife by picking them from various refuse dumps and was saying to Emeka Ikeh who uses it to produce Skirt drinks. However, Samuel had disagreement with Emeka Ikeh over price of suppling him the used bottles. According to embittered Samuel, he was selling the bottles for #450 per bag for seven years before sometimes in January, 2021, Samuel asked Emeka to add some money to be buying it for #600 to cover his cost of buying and washing the bottles but Emeka refused and insisted that some of the bottles he was buying from him was his product. Hence, Samuel had a customer who offered to buy the bag for #1000 and he loaded one truck worth #3.5m to sell in Aba, Abia State. Samuel said when Emeka got the information that he had loaded the bottles to sell to another customer, he reportedly arranged with armed Police officers from Adeniji Adele, Lagos and stormed his shop at Kara market area of Ogun State, the police alleged that they got information that Samuel loaded arms and ammunition inside truck with the bottles to Aba. The truck was impounded and taken to Adeniji Adele, Lagos for investigation and the police later found out that the information alleged by Emeka who was the complainant was false and the police released the truck with the bottles to Samuel. Emeka then contacted Mrs Uba at NAFDAC at Apapa and she sent some officers to Adeniji Adele and the bottles was seized and taken to their office at Mobile road in Apapa, Lagos. The NAFDAC boss, Mrs Uba then prepared documents and asked the blind Samuel to sign that he has accepted to forfeit the bottles to Federal Government if he cannot sell it to Emeka on the amount he was buying it from him. Samuel refused and left not knowing more trouble was waiting for him, Mrs Uba was said to be angry and she sent a team of NAFDAC officers to Samuel's shop, led by Emeka and another four truck load of bottles worth over #7m was seized and taken to undisclosed location. Mrs Uba alleged that she was directed by the Director General of NAFDAC to seize the bottles because Samuel refused to sell to Emeka and he committed an offence which involved seizing the bottles in line with NAFDAC policy. Since then, Samuel and members of his family are helpless and to worsening his situation, he alleged that Mrs Uba and Emeka were mocking him over his blindness when he visited her office. "Mrs Uba told me that it was because I am a wicked man that made me go blind while Emeka said he will ensure he will carry plate to beg on the road for attempting to sell the bottles to another customer" Samuel appeal to the members of the public to come to his aid and plea to Mrs Uba and Emeka to release his bottles to him to take vare of his family. On who he sells the bottles, he said he had been in the business for over 20 years and sells the bottles to groundnuts, Cashew and others who use the bottles for their businesses like local medicine. He explained that he had bewn in the business and got married with children before he got blind. He lamented that he was not the only person selling bottles at Kara market but Mrs Uba and Emeka singled him out despite over 300 people selling the same bottles at the market.

P.M.EXPRESS investigation revealed that the Imo State-born Ife disconnected every contacts including his known mobile phone numbers so that he will not be traced or contacted by the Police over the alleged fraud. When our correspondent visited his office at Lekki, he was told that the CEO was no longer coming to the office because of several invitations served on him by the Police and so went into hiding. The suspect was said to be wanted by the Police following a petition to the former Inspector General of Police, IGP Abubakar Adamu, by the Managing Director, Alpha-K Aviation and Allied Services Limited, Otunba Kayode Adesina, whose office is located at Araromi Street, Anifowose area of Ikeja, Lagos. The suspect, Christopher Ife, was said to have compounded his woes by issuing two dud cheques to the tune of over N17m in order to defraud the company and since then he was said to be evasive over the alleged fraud. According to Police sources, Ife, who is the alter ego of Globasure Technologies Limited, contacted Alpha K Aviation & Allied Services Limited in 2018 to clear a consignment of Android Point of Sale, POS, belonging to Bet9ja from China to Nigeria. Initially the arrangement was to cover air freight, Customs and delivery to the office door. However, due to change in foreign exchange variation, Alpha-K and Allied Services Limited opted to air freight the goods and withdrew from clearing it. The company released documents to enable Ife to use another company to clear the goods on condition that he will pay the freight for bringing the goods to Nigeria. It was gathered that Alpha-K and Allied Services Limited wrote a detention order to SAHCOL not to release the goods until Ife and his company pay the freight of shipment to Nigeria. When Ife realized that he will not be able to clear the goods because of the detention order, he went to Otunba Adesina, the MD of Alpha-K and Allied Services Limited, and pleaded for the withdrawal of the detention order to enable him to clear the goods and supply to Bet9ja, who he had lied will only pay him if he supplies the goods. He was asked to give post dated bank cheques and promissory note of paying the money at the agreed date, which he did by signing two UBA Bank post dated cheques and he was allowed to carry the goods. He supplied to Bet9ja, which paid him in full and he then ran away. However, the fraud was exposed after the company went to clear the cheques and it was not honoured by the bank and since then Ife had been on the run. P.M.EXPRESS investigation revealed that Bet9ja had since paid him the contract money worth close to $1m but Ife has refused to pay the money to Otunba Adesina. When our correspondent contacted the MD, Alpha-K Aviation and Allied Services Limited, Otunba Kayode Adesina over the matter, he confirmed the alleged fraud but declined to make further comments and then referred our reporter to the Police, who is investigating the matter. It was also gathered that it was not the first time, Globasure was defrauding the Alpha-K and Allied Services Limited, which the Police is now investigating. Several efforts to contact Christopher Ife proved abortive as his known phone numbers were switched off raising the suspicion that he was actually on the run.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the management of the Bank has started investigation over her conduct by unilaterally frozen the account while the vehicle dealer, Young Suleiman Omokhuale is demanding for #100m from both Miriam Chima-Ndu and Fidelity Bank for the trauma he was subjected for the past one Month Miram frozen the account. This followed a petition written to the Managing Director, Fidelity Bank PLC dated 12th March 2021 by Barrister E.A. Iyobhebhe on behalf of the complainant. It stated that Young Suleiman Omokhuale purchased SUV worth #1.7m and delivered to Mariam Chima-Ndu in her office as they agreed after Mariam confirmed and ordered for the vehicle. However, she rejected it on ground that she no longer wanted it and ordered Omokhuale to transfer money in his account to her account and he refused and asked her to give him time to sell the vehicle and refund her money. She went and secretly frozen his account insisting that she will not open it until he give her order to transfer the money into her account. The petitioner stated: "The transaction with your staff was personal contract, howbeit, she unilaterally frozen his account. This complaints is with view for your immediate reversal of the said unlawful freezing of the account and failing which, we will be constrained to sue your Bank and Miriam Chima-Ndu for #100m for depriving the complainant the use of his legitimate fund" In response, the Bank management confirmed the receipt of the complainant through one Ayobamidele Peter and stated as follows: "With reference to the unauthorized lien on your account, please be informed that your complainant is receiving attention and feedback will be communicated upon completion of the investigation. All inconveniences are regretted " But the response appeared to be an illusion because the Bank management never got back to the complainant nor unfrozen the account. The complainant, Young Suleiman Omokhuale has expressed shock over the incident and lamented that the action of Miriam Chima-Ndu and Fidelity Bank have thrown his business and family in double jeopardy. He said that he has no access to his money and apart from that Miriam detained him at Idimu police station before the police intervened and asked her to give him time to sell the vehicle and refund her money. Yet, the account was still unfrozen and he cannot transact any business and feed his family for the past one Month and he resort to begging to feed his family. On the next action since the Bank has refused to unfrozen the account, he said he was heading to Court and have directed his lawyer to file a suit to that effect. The Court of Appeal, Lagos has ruled that banks have no right to freeze their customers account without a proper order of court. The court further ruled that there is no law that confers power on banks to freeze a customer's account. Justice Sidi Dauda Bage of the appellate court delivered the judgment, upholding the judgment of Justice Iyabo Kasali of Lagos High Court who had delivered the same judgment at the lower court on September 29, 2005. It was in a case that involved Fidelity Bank and a private company, Bayuja Ventures Limited and its Managing Director, Mr Bashir Jamoh. The company and Jamoh were customers of the Apapa branch of the bank. On October 8, 2002, the bank froze the accounts of the plaintiffs by entering a no debit status on the accounts.

Put the activities of Landgrabbers to check, The Chairman Of Igbo Stakeholders Forum Tells Lagos St. Govt @VONNEWS Sequel to the continuous invasion of the family land of the Ogundairo family situate at the Greenfield Estate, Okota, Isolo, Lagos state, by the Okeregbe family, using thugs who are agents of landgrabbers, the Chairman, Igbo Stakeholders Forum, Comrade Nixon Okwara, has called on the Lagos state govt, the police and other relevant authorities, to urgently call the invaders to order to avert greater crisis. According to Okwara whose forum has property in the troubled zone, the activities of the landgrabbers who encroach properties violently, maiming and killing people is turning the state into where people behave lawless and fearless, as though they are above the law. Speaking further, he stressed that it is unfortunate that after a supreme court judgement had given ownership to their landlords(Ogundairo family) after a protracted 19 years case, recalcitrant Okeregbe family is using landgrabbing antics to sell portions of the land. 'It is a dangerous situation which should be urgently checked because capable people who can repel the landgrabbers are stakeholders in this estate, but are just towing the path of justice. The Igbo Forum, Alado, etc are all owners of property in that estate. It will pay all stakeholders if the authorities will apprehend one Alh.Aregbe Saheed who marshals thugs after and against innocent landowners Okwara cautioned to prove that the laws are effective", Okwara maintained. Alh.Mutiu Ogundairo while speaking on the development, said that the landgrabbers have been duly reported to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police at Zone 2, Lagos, and that they are still investigating the killings and attacks, stressing that it is criminal for the Okeregbe family to continue to defy and violate court injunction delivered after almost two decades. He also affirmed that the Ogundairos do not only have the supreme court verdict but also have the C of O, and therefore sought govt intervention before the situation snowballs into crisis, pointing that landgrabbers are turning Lagos into their safe haven. 2023: IGBO STAKEHOLDERS COLLAPSE ALL POLITICAL STRUCTURES AS IT PARTNERS WITH SUN NEWSPAPERS By Cyriakus Izuekwe The Apex Sociopolitical Igbo group known as Igbo National Stakeholders Assembly, INSA Worldwide, has collapsed all the political structures in Igbo land and Diaspora as it partners with the management of Sun Newspapers for mobilization for Igbo Presidency for 2023. P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the President of INSA, Chief John Uche, during INSA courtesy visit to the Sun Newspapers in Ikeja, Lagos. Chief Uche, who was the first President of Ohanaeze, Lagos State, visited the management of the Sun Newspapers to solicit their support on Igbo agenda in Nigeria. He was accompanied by the Igbo Traditional Leader in Mushin Kingdom, Eze John Nwosu, Chief Friday Okike, General Secretary, Lizy Anowai, National Women Leader, Rose Bello, Lagos State Women Leader, Chief Kali Uguru and Hon. Christopher Ekechukwu In his address, Uche said that INSA is the Apex sociopolitical organization of Ndigbo in Nigeria and Diaspora, formed in 2017 to serve as political structure for Ndigbo to use to negotiate their political position in Nigeria polity. He noted that over the years, Igbo have been operating on sociocultural groups like Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Market Associations, and town unions and had not had sociopolitical organization to use as basis for negotiating their political and general interests in Nigeria. “Hence, INSA has therefore, collapsed every other Igbo Political group and has built structures in all the 36 States including FCT and Diaspora. Therefore, INSA is in a better position to advance and negotiate whatever interest the Igbo may agitate or seek to achieve.” Chief Uche noted that over the years, some people imagined if the Igbo man can be President of Nigeria, stressing that Igbo is one of the tripod components of Nigeria and other tribes geopolitical zones have produced President except Ndigbo. “Therefore, it is the turn of Ndigbo to exercise their inalienable rights in vying for the position of President of Nigeria” Uche said. He called all the political groups, ethnic nationalities, religious and sociocultural groups to support and rally round Ndigbo in this divine mandate to save Nigeria from total collapse and extinction. "I OFFER MYSELF TO REPOSITIONING THE SOUTH-SOUTH PEOPLE'S UNITED FORUM" @VONNews The State Deputy Chairman and the Lagos West Senatorial leader of the South-South United Forum, Otunba Napoleon led principal coordinators to the palace of the South-South traditional Council leader, Chief Awhi on 5th March 2021 The aim of the visit was to intimate the traditional ruler on the anomalies in the leadership of the Forum since the absence of the State Chairman on health grounds. Otunba Napoleon briefed the traditional leader that the Chairman had initially written a letter to the State party Chairman and introduced himself and six others that they would serve in the interim committee. This committee interfaced with Dr Ken Mordi and Chief Lucky. Dr Ken Mordi, a former National Assistant Secretary of AD, Vice Chairman South-South Zone in ACN advised the committee for a need for restructuring where Engr. Emiyede and himself with other leaders would serve in the BOT while fresh and vibrant youths would form the Executive. The Deputy Chairman, Otunba Napoleon directed that another meeting be convened but the State Chairman appealed that the meeting should be suspended for him to recuperate from his illness. Furthermore, the recent impersonation of Lucky calling on Local Government Chairmen to demand for money and not disclose amount collected is an embarrassment to the Forum. The visit to the State Governor yielded #2m and how the money was shared is only known to Chief Lucky and Otunba Emiyede. The money made available for hiring vehicles for transporting palliatives and renting of warehouse; how much was collected and expended remains a mystery. The house in the presence of Mr. Udoma Udoma cautioned him to desist from addressing himself as Acting Secretary or act as the leader of South South in the absence of Emiyede when a substantive Deputy is available. Pst. Obi, Principal Coordinator of Amuwo maintained that the forum was due for a change but unfortunately Chief Lucky cannot be the image of the change. He added that his uncultured and uncouth nature does not portray the attributes of a leader. The Osu in his godly wisdom inaugurated a four man Committee and charged them to chart a new pathway for the South-South and also to commence an immediate dissemination of information to all PCs and LCDA Coordinators on the impersonating character of Chief Lucky. The Osu prayed for all the committee members and in particular he prayed for quick recovery for the State Chairman. In the same view, the Deputy State Chairman paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of all Executive Chairmen in Lagos State, Hon. Mrs Essien , who is also the Executive Chairman of Mainland Local Development Area. Hon.Essien corroborated that there was a need for change in baton of leadership of the Forum. She admitted that Emiyede and Mordi must relinquish their positions. She therefore called on the delegates to go restrategize and come back to her. She gave her blessings to the Ag.Chairman in the absence of the State Chairman.

RELIGION: PASTOR EASY ONYEANWU AND THE VINEYARD OF GOD @VONNEWS Many a preacher of the word will rather go by big names and ostentatious ways, but this humane and down-to-earth yet easy going disseminator of the gospel goes low. Yes, Pastor Prophet Easy Onyeanwu, Shephered and Chief Custodian of the Christ Battle Solution Assembly, aka battle winners chapel, situated at Ijegun-Ikotun area of Lagos, is a simplistic labourer in God's vineyard. His entrant into the service and worship of God can be traced to his birth era when his mother dedicated him to God owing to the mystery that surrounded his birth. It is on record that his fetus would have been aborted by the evil fetish or poison his mother was struck with during pregnancy but for the merciful intervention of God, situation which made his family enrol him for a seminary training requisite for becoming a reverend father, a mission which was truncated by certain factors Though he was nicknamed reverend father, he opted to develop himself as a servant of God.His foray into the ministry was a divine design to keep him on track as a child of destiny. And since the end of his service year as a graduate, he only had a few experiences of secular businesses before finally retiring to what is from all indications, his eternal endeavour where he is tied to a vigorous prophetic and deliverance work that became full fledged in 2009. And for over a decade now, this firebrand prophet of the Most High God has powerfully been behind the christianity brand called, "Christ Battle Solution Assembly", a ministry that has enviably remained a model amongst its likes in the religion hemisphere of Ijegun and its environs. Little wonder people travel from far and wide to seek spiritual SOLUTIONS to their BATTLES at this torchbearing place of worship and divine solace. Prophet Easy(call him Pastor if you like) has not only maintained a clean sheet in his ecclesiastical calling, he has also ensured that he runs a charity ministry which tends to continually provide timely succour to any needy in sight, and this philanthropic gesture made him a darling of the people during the torteous pandemic lockdown in Nigeria. Apart from donations organised in the church premises, his home was also thronged by people who came for one need or the other. He was never spared by those who accosted him on his way to church for same, reasons.Interestingly, him and his amiable wife saw the donations and supports as a labour of love.It will interest you to know that he never consulted his church committee for support during this largesse. This Imo state born prophetic and deliverance preacher has built a standard which mandates his followers to always and ever expect solutions from Jesus Christ the ultimate mediator and saviour, not from him. His quiet dispositions provide a facade for his thunderous prophetic pronouncements which continue to astound and astonish! Bothered about the decline in faith in Nigeria, he remains of the view that pastors and all fathers of faith should let biblical truth lead the way instead of vain promises. He also condemned disgusting and misleading display of wealth and unnecessary love for materialism by all christians. By John Savior

Surprisingly, nothing has been done to that regards up till now. Njirika said that as the farming season approaches, there is palpable tension that the two communities might engage themselves in a bloody war which will lead to loss of lives and properties when they go back to the same farmland. The Chairman of Ibughubu Umuchu vigilante group, who made the appeal, maintained that his community is a peaceful one, called on the relevant Government agencies to come and demarcate the said boundary before the two communities go into same land for farming.
