If the political structure of Nigeria wasn't created by northern Nigeria through its soldiers who proliferated too many states in the old Northern region, there shouldn't have been any need for zoning the presidency between the north and the south of Nigeria. A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states; assuming that you understand the implications of that.

It is a no brainer to even think of that as a good idea to curb the menace of unprecedented insecurity in the country, eg. kidnapping, unprovoked attacks and killings, banditry and terrorism that's bedeviled the country for over a decade.

Ado Doguwa a member of the house of representatives has this as a plan to stop insecurity. But I think the multiplier effects of doing so will be so enormous and overwhelming.

The northern region has benefited so much from this fraud called Nigeria. They have resisted every voice and force that wants to separate this fraudulent entity. They have produced most head of states and Presidents. They got more states than the rest regions. They control most government agencies and parastatals. They control the Police and armed forces. When will the southern politicians start again to insist that the political structure be revisited democratically? Because land mass is never used as criterion to derive new federating units in a country formed by diverse regions.
