Politics › Re: Hon. Azuka Okwuosa Was Offered N2bn To Quit Anambra Governorship Race by Onyemabright(m): 4:09pm On May 19, 2021 |
AmadiAba: Controversy has already begun to rise as the 2021 gubernatorial elections in Anambra state draws closer. Aspirants, stakeholders, and significant party members are quickly orchestrating means to eliminate strong party oppositions early enough in the race. Hon Azuka Okwuosa recently took to his Twitter page to state that no amount of money would make him relent in his pursuit to fix Anambra. It is believed that he was offered a large sum of money in a bid to lure him out of the Anambra governorship race.
The above assumption is founded on the premise of a recent discovery by IGBERE TV that one of the governorship aspirants for the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the person of Hon Azuka Okwuosa, was offered a large sum of money to step out of the governorship race. Sources have it that he was recently offered a whooping sum of 2 Billion Naira (N2,000,000,000.00) to quit his pursuit of the governorship seat of the south-eastern state.
Reliable intel from his campaign team revealed that Hon Azuka Okwuosa took this offer as an insult to his personality and a misguided test of his integrity. In the process of rejecting the offer made to him, Hon Okwuosa rained abuses on the representative of the offeror whose identity remains hidden. He used the opportunity to assure members of his team that he remains unphased by the attempt of the opposition to excuse him from his governorship aspirations. He iterates that now, more than ever, he will give his best to ensure that only a man of reputable character would ascend the governorship seat in November.
Clear indications have shown that the ruling party is on her toes owing to Okwuosa’s determination to ensure the development of the people and the state. His party endorsement and approvals are through the roofs, and the excitement and anticipation towards his victory in the primaries are intense.
Reports of the bribery of promising aspirants out of an electoral race are not uncommon in the Nigerian political space. However, the recent incidence in Anambra state has two significant implication that would eventually influence the outcome of the gubernatorial election in November.
The first implication would be that stakeholders within and outside the party consider Hon Okwuosa a strong opposition for the governorship. An early exit of the top APC even before the party primaries in June would be to the advantage of other aspirants who are most likely less suitable for the Anambra electorate. The unfolding happenings could also mean that alternative means could still be employed to eliminate him from the governorship race.
Hon Okwuosa’s rejection of the offer could also imply that he is not in the race to achieve a selfish agenda. His acclaimed quest to fix the deplorable situation of the state has gained some credence. It also proves him to be a man of character and integrity—the kind of man required to lead the state into the new phase.

Olusharp: Timi Frank distance self from N40bn claim, insists N90bn diverted for 2019 election Challenges FIRS to sue him
A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has distanced himself from the report of PRNigeria claiming that only N40 billion were stolen from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to prosecute 2019 election by the ruling party.
The outspoken activist said his earlier position that about N90 billion were diverted to prosecute the 2019 general election for the government of the day has not changed.
Frank demanded an apology from the authority of the FIRS for saying that he was been used to fabricate lies against the revenue generating agency, adding that he is a man of integrity.
He, however stated that the agency and the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have explanations to make to the world regarding the missing money.
Frank in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, challenged the authority of FIRS to live up to its earlier threat of going to court as soon as possible.
Comrade Frank also accused the FIRS of brain behind the N40 billion claim in the media to divert attention from the original N90 billion claim to make his revelation appears incredible.
The Bayelsa born activist also lambasted the ruling party for describing the stolen money report as hogwash.
Frank said if the APC actually has the interest of the country at heart few elements who were not in the know of how its leadership mismanaged the taxpayers hard earned money ought to have been worried by the revelations.
"I don't know where the report of N40 billion is coming from and I don't actually have connection with the PRNigeria who released the report but it is incumbent on me to state categorically that my position on the stolen N90 billion has not changed.
"I have waited patiently for either of the parties involved in the swindling of Nigeria taxpayers' money to sue me but up till now the shameless elements are still hiding under one finger.
"They threatened but could not live up to their own expectations. A media organisation were force to retract the report thinking it will ends there but so many courageous media houses and the social media ensured that the truth could not be hidden. I salute the courageous ones, even as history will never forget them in a hurry," Frank said.
Reacting to the APC statement describing the report as hogwash, Comrade Frank said the judgement day for the ruling party is just by the conner.
"It is a shame for the leadership of the APC to speak on this matter now having kept quiet since the revelation was made. Understandably the party is the beneficiary, it must do everything possible to divert public attention," he said.
He called on Nigerians, especially the rights groups and courageous individuals to defend Nigeria's democracy by urgently rescue it from the handlers of the current government for the sake of innocent Nigerians.
Signed:
Comrade Timi Frank Political activist Abuja.

Kosiso12: BREAKING!!! Ebonyi Women Protest N@ked In Front Of Govt. House, Give Reasons(Photo)
At least 150 Ebonyi women, on Monday, protested naked in front of Government House Abakaliki.
Igbere TV reports that the women from Agubia in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State protested over the arrest of not less than 9 of their sons by security agents allegedly acting on the order of top state government official from the area.
Igbere TV correspondent who monitored the protest reports that the aged women who gathered in front of the gate of Government House, Abakaliki, around 12noon alleged that there had been incessant arrest in the village.
One of women said "the latest was the arrest of two persons from the village who came for a wedding ceremony in Abakaliki last Saturday”.
According to report, a bloody clash that erupted between two rival groups three weeks ago over which group to control a motor park in the community claimed the life of one Chinedu Nwali, and many others injured, while houses, cars and other valuable properties worth millions of naira were damaged.
The Agubia Motor Park is the central park where all the vehicles leaving and entering the community stop.
The women disclosed that since the clash peace had eluded the community.
Mrs Mercy Nwali who spoke on behalf of the women said the crux of the protest was to demand urgent and amicable resolution of the matter as their lives and that of their family members had been in danger.
“What we demand is that all of them who are involved in the crisis should come home so that we could make peace. They shouldn’t be in town here and be terrorizing us in the village. Any time we schedule to meet to seek solution to the crisis, we don’t see them. We no longer sleep in our homes and we want government to intervene”, she explained.
They also called for the immediate release of their children who had been arrested and put in detention.
Another aged woman, Mrs Juliana Nwali who gave the names of her children arrested as Messrs Igwe Nwali, Chikwendu Nwali and Chineme Nwali vowed never to leave government house gate until they were released to her.
She was seen crying profusely, saying she prefers to die than go back without her children.
