I am opportune to be following live
the rally in Gusau. When they first
started I was sure the propaganda
against Dr Jonathan was really
working in the state. The Crowd
were very few then but I say it
boldly that they remain the most
vocal of the audience GEJ has
spoken too. Their response could
be heard from afar in comparission
to the rallies in Lagos,Enugu and
co. The people were very zealous
both the male and their female
counterpart.
Some minutes into the rally, the MC
begged the security people to allow
people to enter the stadium and
that was it!
The 3 speeches I love most were
those of Taminu Turaki ,Ahmadu Ali
& Namadi Sambo. They all spoke in
Hausa language. Taminu advised
the people to ignore those asking
them not to vote Jonathan because
he is a Christian whom they should
not have anything to do with. He
informed them of the actions of
those people telling them not to do
so who on their own part are going
to the Christian worship centers
mingling with them. He told them
they are liars and hypocrites.
Ahmadu Ali towed the same part
and reminded them of how Umaru
Dikko was nearly bundled to
Nigeria just to kill him.
Namadi Sambo spoke about how
loving the President is and what he
has done for Zamfara as a state.
The Climax was when Dr. Goodluck
Jonathan was speaking. By then the
place was already crowded and
probably God's wisdom just came
over him and he asked the Police to
leave the crowd alone. He said; '
Police,please leave them alone,
they are my people,they are not
here to harm,they are for me."
That was it! The crowd went into
jubilation mood and from there
onward the noise was too much to
the extent that the Jonathan had to
just speak amidst the noise. The
only noise that rented the air was
"Sai Goodluck!", "Sai Jonathan!"
Those youth of Zamfara are indeed
the best audience so far in all the
electioneering campaign so far
except those in Imo who were
asked by former ANPP chairman
Ogbonaya Onu at APC rally in
Owerri if they were going to vote
for Buhari to which the chorus
answer was NO! until he rephrased
the question and asked again if
they were going to vote for
Okorocha to which they responded
Yes!.

A lady will only pretend to be your mugu when you give her money but the truth is that she knows what she is doing. No wonder most guys suffer heart breaks because they believe with money they can mugu-lise a lady, when the money is no longer there you will realise that the lady in the real sense used you as her mugu.

Abuja - Islamist insurgents dressed as soldiers opened fire on worshippers leaving a mosque in Nigeria's far northeast this week, killing at least 35 in the second such attack this month, officials said on Friday.

"Boko Haram people attacked the village on the ground that they have refused to co-operate with them, that they refused their message," defence spokesperson Brigadier General Chris Olukolade told AFP of the incident in Dumba, referring to Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.

The attack occurred on Monday, but the information did not become public until Friday with phone lines cut in the region and the village located in a remote area.

A separate military source speaking on condition of anonymity said Boko Haram gunmen dressed as soldiers entered the village early on Monday and took up positions at a crossroads, where they fired upon worshippers leaving a mosque after morning prayers.

The source said the attack was believed to be in reprisal for a raid by soldiers and vigilantes in the village the previous week that resulted in the arrest of Boko Haram members.

Separately earlier this month on 10 and 11 August, suspected Boko Haram members stormed a mosque in Konduga and shot dead 44 worshippers as well as 12 other people in a nearby village in another area of the northeast.

Those attacks were believed to be revenge over citizen vigilante groups forming to help the military battle Boko Haram, which has been waging an insurgency since 2009.

The country's military launched an offensive in the northeast in May aiming to end Boko Haram's insurgency.

The pattern of attacks that has occurred since then indicates the insurgents may have to a large degree scattered into more remote areas of the region. Dumba is located near Lake Chad and close to Nigeria's borders with Cameroon, Chad and Niger.

It is near the town of Baga, where in April the military faced accusations of major abuses after nearly 200 people were left dead, with residents alleging soldiers shot civilians and set fire to much of the community.

Maiduguri - Dozens of suspected Boko Haram militants in Magumeri forest, Borno, have turned to human eaters after being stranded for days without food or water.

Magumeri forest is about 150 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Mallam Momodu Bukar, a suspected militant, told newsmen on Saturday in Maiduguri that he fled the camp at the forest on Thursday when it became obvious that he was going to be eaten.

"I thank God that I escaped because I would have been slaughtered by now to provide meal for my colleagues at the camp,'' Bukar said.

The suspected militant was captured by a Youth Vigilante Group, popularly known as the civilian JTF at Baga Road motor park, Maiduguri, on Friday.

He said the militants had been in the forest since May, when they were dislodged from Marte, Marte Local Government Area, by the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) after the declaration of the State of Emergency.

"Our group, consisting of about 300 well armed combatants, headed for Magumeri on the orders of the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, shortly before the military took over Marte Camp.

"We have been wandering in the forest. We have exhausted our food and water supply, and so, everybody became hungry,'' Bukar said.

He also said that they lost contact with Shekau due to the closure of GSM services by the Defence Headquarters.

"It all started last Monday when three of the combatants in camp died of acute hunger, and it became obvious that all of us will die if action was not taken.

"The leader of the group, Abu Omar, directed that a non combatant member be slaughtered to provide meal for the rest.

"The meat provided meal for the combatant for just two days and another person was killed in the same manner on Wednesday.

"So, it became certain that I might be the next person since I am also a non combatant member.''

Bukar said he escaped after volunteering to help search for drinking water for the group in a nearby village.

"I left the camp on Thursday evening after agreeing to fetch water from the village.

"After leaving the camp, I started running until I arrived at Magumeri town, so, I slept in the motor park before boarding a vehicle to Maiduguri with the little money on me.'' he said.

Bukar said that he was apprehended immediately he arrived at the motor park in Maiduguri by the youth vigilante group.

Commenting, an official of the vigilante group, Mallam Ajid Asheik, said the suspect would be handed to the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) for investigation.
