Would it be fine if i say that i wont marry you because of your own views,
how about basing our decission on the outcome of the argument?
Nwannem nwoke, not happening. no offense your views are kind of outrageous. I mean yes rampant, teacher do date their students, but does it make it right? just because they do it doesn't make it a good thing. People yes murder eachother doesn't make it a good thing at all.and besides i don't date teachers. i would end up schooling you.

idupaul:
they do, teachers are heroes to students and girl easily fall for their students
Not really. i didnt fall for any of my male teachers or coaches. But i did hear this story when i was in highschool. There was this girl in my state who "thought" she was in love with her teacher. Until one day while in his home, he raped her. She became pregnant. The teacher denied ever being with her and eventually was put to jail for 11 years and she gave her baby up for adoption.

Orikinla:
Any of the guys here posing and posturing that real men do not cry do not even know what makes a real man.

I have wept for my mother and I am moved by the tears of a woman who truly wept from her heart and soul and God knows that I am more real than 99% of men who lie about their emotions.

I have been to war and saw thousands of corpses and survived and returned safely.
I have braved the dangers of gunfire during coups in Nigeria to visit a sweetheart when most men were hiding indoors.
I have been in emergencies whilst saving lives.
Has anyone carried a woman in a wheelchair down a staircase in emergency and protected her from noon to midnight in ER?
Yet I can cry too when my woman cries.
Because, I am a REAL MAN who has heart and soul.

Love is what makes us human and tears of love are the most beautiful tears to shed.

When a woman cries from her heart, she can move the spirit of compassion.
That was powerful, Nwannem nwoke, you are truly deemed as REAL MAN.

Not love like the poster stressed?

i see where you are going.
You are afraid of your children having sex right?

ok.mothers are always protective, i respect that but don't over do it.
meanwhile i am not married and i am a teacher.
i bet you will marry me if i ask and if u arent married already.
Okay that is a red flag right there. and i highly highly doubt i would marry you with these kind of views lipsrsealed

Sam i don't know if you are just like this or maybe you married a former teacher of yours from grade school, really don't care. A teachers purpose is to pass knowledge onto their pupils not their sperm or other body fluids. When we start allowing teachers to date students, where would the madness end?

A first date when the guy is just making up his mind is not the time to make sure another potentially finer girl is available.

Thank you 4 play.
I said this yesterday.its all about age.
A girl can still be a student at 20 while guy could be a teacher at 24.
Now where is the crime there if they are deeply in love?
Sam i pray no vex on your children(if you have any) that a teacher will come after them by the way you are talking.

That a guy should always pay at the first date because that is how you were brought up but if you initiated the date, you would rather invite him to your house and cook for him. Why would you  invite a guy you are just getting to know to your house on a first date?? because i was not brought up like that but if you think its  the best way for you then gudluck with that.
You think i would be alone!!! shocked shocked shocked hell naw, Nnam didn't raise no fool. i would tell my room mate to bring someone too so we can double date.

The poster said she was 17+, and that was not at the initial stage.
he said that today while this toipc started yesterday.
meanwhile karmaMod, at what age did you have sex for the first time?
At what age did you know what sex is?
Have you ever eyed an older man because he was cute, teacher or not?
People who maintain  such ethics as
THIS IS TEACHER,
THIS IS STUDENT,
THIS IS PASTOR (UNMARRIED),
THIS IS A CHURCH MEMBER.(THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO FALL IN LOVE)

Those who effectively follow such ethics are either ugly or VERY UGLY.
Rules are meant to be broken, especially those made by our fore fathers.
Open your eyes and do not let common things deny you happiness.
Like , my mum said this man is bad for me.
His family is poorer than mine, so i wont marry him.
He is 5 years older than me, so i wont date him,
she is a good girl but uglt , so i wont date him.

what matters now is LOVE. L-OV-E.
Thats the keyword here.
Kanu nwankwo married his wife while she was 17+
I am sure if Kanu came for you while you were still 13 , you will jump all over him.
EVEN IF HE IS YOUR TEACHER.
Not the only thing that would be jumping is him when my father comes with his switch.

Better say some nigerian men

Cos many Nigerian men are good romantically.
Well yes and no. I guess sometimes when they do something really romantic, people view as much more because it doesn't happen so often. But im not saying there is no romantic naija men cause there are.
Romance › Re: Deeply In Love With My Student by onyinye2(f): 10:16pm On Aug 01, 2008
I guess things in the states are different from the ways of Naija. A teacher who has a relationship with a student in primary, middle, high school, will lose their, their respected name, their respect from others, will go to jail, a will have to file themselves as sex offender for the rest of their lives. but in college, if a student has a relationship with their teacher, it is viewed as unprofessional and will probably lose their job. Not because it is illegal just because it is unprofessional.

Every tiny detail goes a long way to determining whether the chic is truly worth the rest of your life.  smiley
A girl who wont pay for a date, don't ask her for money to help you with the mortgage . . . she thinks its your sole responsibility. God help you if you have a job crisis.
You are looking way into that. you could be wrong. What if you were the type that spoiled your girlfriend rotten. Doesn't mean that you would necessairly do the same if yal marry. What if the girl was always giving when yal were dating, doesn't necessairly mean she will continue to give when you marry. she might do a 180 and become the black version of Paris Hilton. undecided

Wait , there is a law against that.
At 16, she is still very young.
He didnt go to jail because he is a teacher , he went to jail because of the age of the girl.

(RIGHT OR WRONG ?)

What if the girl is 20 and still a student, would the teacher go to jail?
What the heck!! I said that the FEMALE teacher went to jail not the student. The 16 year old was a dude.

I believe they DO follow the traditional roles of a wife, they just DONT like the WORD "submit", that's really all it is. "Submit" has a lot of negativity attached to it. Slaves are USUALLY the ones known for "submitting" hence the problem. We just don't like the word jo.
even i have to agree with some of this. embarassed

davidylan:
A whole lot, you can learn 1000 more just by paying attention to tiny details such as whether she volunteers to pay on any dates. Any guy who overlooks that shld be ready for surprises in his marriage.
Okay sure tongue well i guess this doesn't include me because i offer to pay and sometimes i take a guy out that im with to a date instead him always taking me out. with much convincing.
Romance › Re: Who Should Pay On A Date? by onyinye2(f): 9:41pm On Aug 01, 2008
@all
What is wrong with the guy paying on the first date? yal make it sound as if it a bad thing to expect that but when you go out on a date even you expect it. I just feel it is one of those unwritten rules. undecided

davidylan:
That was my point. Nowadays the average woman wants to eat her cake and have it back even bigger. If a woman supports the traditional . . . "well the guy shld ask me out first and PAY" then she should be ready to perform the equally traditional "women must submit to her husband" role in marriage.
Not this again. what does paying for dinner have to do with marriage?

You're right if he asked you out, then he better be ready to pay.
But if you guys already got to the point of going out every friday or once in a while, I think both of you should start paying the bills.[/quote]I was brought for the man to pay for the first date. you might think it is a faulty mentality, but it is what i was brought up to expect. But whoever initiated the date pays.

What if the dude doesn't  have any money with him when you asked him out? Where is he going to get money to pay?

I think this is why some dude ditches some women on their date.
