You don chop this morning?
Do you realise dialysis costs money?
Do you realise that you need at least 3 sessions every week that is 156 MINIMUM sessions every year for effective dialysis?
Do you realise that most people cannot even bear this minimum cost on their own?
What do you think has kept him alive the past 2 years without the disgrace of coming to the public to beg for help?
You think money for women and drinks equates the cost of one dialysis session?

Do you know the cost of one vial of erythropoietin alone? If you don't know this is needed in kidney failure google is your friend
Do you know the cost of immunosuppressive drugs he will need AFTER the transplant ?
Do you know if any complications will occur?
Have you seen anyone die from renal failure before?? Didn't think so
It can eat up the funds of even wealthy people who in your very words have ' invested wisely'

So Madam kidney foundation is right?
I hope she ll still be right if kidney failure visits you or someone you know

CelebritiesRe: PSquare Donate N5m For OJB's Kidney Transplant by Onyinyechimara(f): 6:29am On Jun 28, 2013
Nuzo':
Juliet Ibrahim made very valid points.

1. Why must people be harrassed/coersed into such donation when they may have uncles, aunties and other relations that may be needing their help?

2. And yes, $100k maybe to much for a standard kidney transplant in India. Remember, she owns a foundation that centers on kidney related illness.

And less we forget, how much did Ngozi Nwosu use in doing both kidney and liver transplant?

Nomoreloss and co lost it on this one. They should have listed in details what they inteded using the $100k for. Was it for the transplant and a year of medication?

It actually sad that it took a far away Ghanian to remind us of how to be detailed and transparent.

4. And yes, she has every right to claim to be more beautiful than Kim K. Alot of people in the streets of Bahrain, Iran and even Poto Rico are far more beautiful than Kim K but it has never been only about beauty....your lineage, publicity, location, line of work, carriage, finace, friends makes the difference.

And for the records, I've never seen Ms Ibrahim's movies and I don't wish to see cos I know it will be wack...thereby I'm not her fan.
What are you saying? Now is not the time to be making 'valid' points but to help

She has a foundation so she should contact them if she has so much superior knowledge and show them a better way to go about it

What will 'valid' points do for OJB?
CelebritiesRe: Juliet Ibrahim Questions Cost Of Ojb’s Kidney Transplant by Onyinyechimara(f): 8:44pm On Jun 27, 2013
She has a kidney foundation abi?

Since she knows so many cheaper deals and alternatives that can be worked out why doesn't she hook OJBs team up??

If she doesn't understand why their asking for so much why doesn't she contact them and show them the way to go about it??

Otherwise I think she should stop tweeting on this matter

FamilyMarriage by Onyinyechimara(op): 10:12pm On Jun 26, 2013
Abeg nobody should crucify me but I really want to get married
I have a boyfriend........he hasn't proposed ( and no I don't intend to get down on one knee)
But everyone around me seems so fulfilled in theirs
My colleagues that got married at work get so much respect in the workplace
It's really an honour able institution especially for people in decent marriages
There's this elevation of status that comes with it
Even people who were struggling before seem to find a way and make ends meet
The glow on their faces says it all
And of course the blessing that God bestows on those brave enough to undertake it cannot be overlooked
I remember my parents had nothing when they first started out like so many other people,
But Gods grace has been sufficient

I guess other people feel this way at times
I limit my use of social media for the sight of a classmate with wedding picture or baby picture kinda makes me feel old
I m not old, but I just wanna have the honour and dignity that (I think) marriage brings
And I want that covering over my head so that I know I m not alone in this world
I can plan my life with someone and have stuff to look forward to doing together
And know that i m not committing sexual sin
Abeg make una no crucify me o, just saying.....

TravelRe: Moving To Ghana For Greener Pastures Might Be The Best Option For Nigerians by Onyinyechimara(f): 7:56am On Jun 24, 2013
SOME REASONS WHY NIGERIANS SHOULD RECONSIDER MOVING TO GHANA

You ve painted a very rosy picture and its very deceptive I must say

1. The election petition case brought against the ruling NDC by the opposition NPP is still in court over irregularities in the recent DEC 2012 election results which brought Pres MAhama to power. They ve presented evidence of election fraud.

2. Please let's not compare Naira and Cedi. If you want to compare its between £$ and Cedi then you will know the definition of the word 'free fall '

2a. Stop deceiving yourself that anybody is gonna pay you GHc2000 a month. Stop that deception. That's starting pay for doctors ,bankers and engineers and gaining jobs in these areas are not easy cuz they re are very well regulated and ain't no ghanain gonna employ you unless you schooled here then they can trust your CV. And by schooling here anything outside University of Ghana legion or Kwame Nkrumak Univeristy of Scince and Tech will earn you discrimination in your job search so all of you going to those private universities in Ghana, just know that you re dashing them money because when push comes to shove..........the well paying jobs go to LEGON and KNUST graduates and even at that you have to pass well

School fees for Nigerians and foreigners are in dollars mind you . Univeristy of Ghana medical school is nothing left than $10,000 per YEAR so if you think you won't spend money here before you make it better sit down at home.....it's not all rosy

2b. As someone pointed out, there are discriminatory policies against foreigners and to some extent it's true
If you are moving because poverty is driving you from home, well I ve got news for you!!!
Don't expect to come and live here scotch free with some imaginary 2000 salary......you have to pay these every year

Residence permit.......Ghc 1000 per year for nonstudents
Work permit.........yearly renewal otherwise face closure of your business when immigration get hold of you
NOn ghanain identity card.........this is a new one and EVERY nonghanain is required BY LAW to have one of these. It's renewable yearly. I paid a tidy sum for this one..........can't even remember now but nothing less than the Cedi equivalent of $200. Without this one as a foreigner, you CANNOT, I repeat you CANNOT open a bank account, buy property, get employment and a host of other things because they'll ask to see it.

2c. Please stop deceiving yourself that you ll get decent accommodation in the heart of Accra for a mere Ghc 1000. Please show me where you can get such unless you re in a face me I face you. First of all, no landlord in Accra gives one year lease.......it's either you pay for two years or you go outside Accra.

4. Ghanaians have been known to smile with you in your face and behind you or in two mutter all sorts about you( Nigerian ) in twi

For your information, Ghanians are not all that. If they were that welcoming why is its next to impossible for a Nigerian to open account in some of their banks? Standard charted and Barclays come to mind

If by now you don't get it then you ll never get it. They don't want you in their country!!! The only time a move to Ghana would favor you is if you have excess money to spare or you re being sponsored by your company. Otherwise reconsider . If you must spend this type of money go elsewhere and at the end you can even end up a citizen but NOT ghana!!!

I m not here to debate with whoever started this thread , I m here to make sure people who are in need read this and know the facts. Tell yourself what you will OP......this is not meant for you as your mind is already made up and I have no intention nor energy i dare say to endevour to change it so think what you will.
FashionRe: I Am A Stylist: What On Earth Does That Even Mean? by Onyinyechimara(op): 4:52pm On Jun 20, 2013
^^^thank you so much for that. Such a detailed write up

Are you a stylist yourself?

Is it a rewarding job/ hobby in this present day Nigeria?
FashionI Am A Stylist: What On Earth Does That Even Mean? by Onyinyechimara(op): 5:47pm On Jun 19, 2013
No offence to all the celebrity stylists out there ( and non- celebrity ones as well.....lol)

I just want to understand what it means when someone calls them self a stylist in an African or Nigerian context

I understand that you make people look good

But how is that different from someone who owns a boutique and sells clothes?

When celebrities say they only work with one stylist what do they mean?

Is that the same as having a personal tailor?

I know that some of the clothes these people wear are ready made

So does that mean the celebrity gives stylist money to buy the dress

OR the less believable option that they get the clothes on credit and hope the celebrity will pay back later??

In this present day Naija, very unlikely , people naturally find it hard to pay back stuff given on credit ( yes even celebrities)

How on earth does a stylist make money?? Is is just another name for tailor / boutique owner??

Just curious. Sensible replies welcome. Cheers

Yeah I had a similar experience with them in the days when i was SSS
They keep bombarding you with emails of potential matches
But the moment I upgraded ( ie paid the money to their account) I sent a few people I was interested in messages and they immediately terminated my account
All of a sudden I was unable to reach them , these same people who used to disturb me every second with emails
Called their numbers tire, no response from their end

Was so pissed off you wouldn't believe it
They just tempt you with nice profiles of guys but they never allow you to meet them or exchange numbers/ email/addresses
They want you to be perpetually online and paying them money without taking the relationship offline
Anyway tha was the end of dating sites for me

All these people saying they don't care, they don't need his visit etc.........Y'all should care. It should tell you that Nigeria is not where it should be. It's not safe plain and simple

Nigerians and their pride!!!!! Never telling themselves the truth. Are we still beating our chest saying we re the giant of Africa ?

This same president went to Myanmar after he noticed they were getting serious with their democracy.

Only a mumu will believe such

My advice: get a job and stop fooling yourself that you are 'okay'. This way, you are sure of stability and a guaranteed future. [/quote
