SmartPolician:Even if someone opens such petition and it gets 100 billion votes or signatures, the US government is not going to deport anybody based on that, when the person didn't break any US laws or have a criminal expatriation request from his/her country of origin. And in this case NOI is even an America citizen, so it can't work. Which shows you such things are only politically sponsored divide-and-conquer propaganda, which also proves my point. Such things are being sponsored by those that don't want unity in the South, and they push it to the public space and watch us tears ourselves apart with tribalism, while they laugh and continue owning all the major wealth in this country. This tweet was a 100% quote from another person who is a very famous personality in international circles. It was her opinion not his. Sharing it doesn't mean he hates NOI, in short, I think it helps her so her team can know those who are pushing against her selection and work around to counter it. If he didn't tweet this info, maybe 90% of Nigerians won't even know, maybe her own team might not be aware. The good news is, it's just this woman's opinion and others have their opinion too. And this woman is not part of the WTO DG selection team. And it stands now, most of the international power Bloc countries are supporting NOI, even China is supporting her. So we can't be too emotional in matters like this. But see it has turned to tribal war. |
He posted a quote from "Sarah Chayes, author of Thieves of State" and the woman is not even a Nigerian. But you guys have foolishly turned this thing to another tribal war.
|
There are so many low IQ people on Nairaland that just rush to comment rubbish without knowing they are being used by some powerful political elements working behind the scenes to promote tribalism, use divide-and-rule tactics to maintain the political status quo in this country. Check the tweet, it was a quote, and the author's name was included. So he was quoting another person, who obviously is a book writer. |
Nigerian bloggers and lies na 5 & 6. You guys have bastardized journalism just because you're hungry crooks. 1 trillion years from now I still won't click that link, mtchwwwwwww. |
I just hope she knows that in the next 2 to 3 years, that lion will be able to kill and eat a human being The LASG should take note and seize this lion from her if it's in Lagos she kept it. We can't be having people keeping lions as pets within residential areas. |
Tonymegabush1:What she's holding is a complete real 100% lion cub. We have white lions too. Not all lions are brown

Sometimes, writing these figures in short form doesn't wake up the public's view of the implication beyond the subconscious. So let me just write it out ₦712,000,000,000 was just embezzled ![]() |
Bbbwings:Oga nobody needs to change any physiology. Do some research before talking about things you don't understand. Even lions as they are right now (as one of the deadliest carnivores), still eat grass occasionally when they have stomach issues OR whenever they feel like eating it. And they don't die when they eat grass. Tigers eat grass too. We call them carnivores because they eat meat and blood MOST of the time, but they are actually able and capable to eat grass too, which actually makes them some kind of omnivorous carnivores. So the Bible is 100% correct about this. A human being can only doubt the Bible (those 66 Books from Genesis to Revelation) at his own peril. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaW4TPfl-go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1D19K9VwO8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt9ZkJyjsyw |
peterantai:Lol! There's nothing like "old way" (or "new way" ). There's only "The Way" and who go believe go believe and who no go believe no go believe. And you misunderstood that scripture. Paul himself is a Jew . Saying he acted like a Jew when he was among Jews and acted like a Gentile when he was among Gentiles was a purely cultural statement, not about mixing faith with culture. His character and lifestyle did not change whichever side he was. Paul was a Jew that was born in Tarsus, which was a Roman province. So he could speak Greek, and he grew up among the Gentiles, so he was familiar with their culture. But at the same time, he was from a devout Jewish family, so he was also familiar with Jewish faith, practices, culture and language. He could speak Greek and he could speak Hebrew. And this gave him a very high advantage in his missionary work, and gave him an edge among the other Apostles in reaching out to the Gentiles, because he knew them and understood their culture and way of life because he grew up among them and could relate with them well in their own culture as per language and norms. The other Apostles were Jews that grew up in Jewish states under Roman control and saw Gentiles as outsiders not to be mingled with. But Paul was different. Remember, in Acts, when he had an altercation with the crowd and was arrested and was beaten by the soldiers, he called their commander and asked him, Is it legal to flog a Roman citizen that has not be judged and declared guilty? They asked him, are you a Roman citizen? Paul said yes. The Commander was shocked and impressed, to the point he was like He bought his own Roman citizenship with money, but Paul told him I was born a Roman citizen. And that was why he was sent to Rome for trial and he wasn't handed over to the Jewish religous leaders..... Acts 22: 22 The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He’s not fit to live!” 23 As they were shouting and throwing off their cloaks and flinging dust into the air, 24 the commander ordered that Paul be taken into the barracks. He directed that he be flogged and interrogated in order to find out why the people were shouting at him like this. 25 As they stretched him out to flog him, Paul said to the centurion standing there, “Is it legal for you to flog a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been found guilty?” 26 When the centurion heard this, he went to the commander and reported it. “What are you going to do?” he asked. “This man is a Roman citizen.” 27 The commander went to Paul and asked, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” “Yes, I am,” he answered. 28 Then the commander said, “I had to pay a lot of money for my citizenship.” “But I was born a citizen,” Paul replied. |

A brown bear and its food are playing together, have become friends, even a lion will avoid a brown bear. Truly, God is great and truly our mankind was made in God's image and it makes animals much more physically powerful than us submit to us when we interact on neutral peaceful terms. They always see us as the master, as the boss to submit to and follow our lead and be under our control, instead of them trying to control us. On neutral peaceful interactions, no matter the animal involved, they never try to control us, but rather they yield their power to us, yield themselves to us like it's their natural programming to view us as the superior. Truly God gave man dominion over this world, and it's in our nature. |

Godbless3:Which means police is a fundamental requirement and component for law and order in any human society, otherwise you will have a system of chaos, you will have endless cycles of attacks and reprisal attacks, you will have a situation where the person with the most powerful weapon dominates. This system doesn't guarantee justice. Humanity is coming from a long history, we have covered huge distances in the timeline of existence. The system where people take justice into their hands has been practiced before, but it doesn't guarantee justice, it isn't effective in the long run. Because if you take justice into your own hands, everyone's idea of justice varies, who determines who.was right and who was wrong? Do you know even criminals do reprisal attacks too, even though they are the guilty party? So Police is necessary. It is not just a group of crime fighters, it is an institution, an integral aspect of modern society. So what we need is to build institutions with good operational systems. The problem of police we are facing today is because the police as an institution has so many internal problems with its setup and system, from operational guidelines to rules of engagement to training to welfare to internal processes of checks and balances. This is where people need to brainstorm about and bring ideas that will work, ideas for the kind of police we want in our societies, and how they should operate as an institution. |
OP, I score you 80 over 100. You missed 3 groups 1) Student religious groups like departmental religious fellowships, muslim students fellowship, Christian students association etc 2) business students. This ones are schooling and running part time business on campus, either in hostel or in department. They sell handouts, exam questions, run tutorials classes 3) lecturers children groups. They live in quarters, their parents are either lecturers and professors. They usually graduate with 1st class too but some turn out to be Marlians |
bergs2:Nobody said they won't bear the effects, that's not the context of discussion. The economy is bad, don't they suffer it too? The government is corrupt, are they immune from the effects? Police are human beings too with family and friends living among us, so of course if there's insecurity, they will suffer it too. Do you know how many police officers get killed by criminals both on duty or off duty? Wicked evil criminals don't care about who's police or civilian. Whether we like it or not, police is a requirement to maintain law and order in human society, not just our own alone, every society in the world has police because there are evil wicked heartless people everywhere. Even with Nigerian police on duty, don't bank robberies still happen? Home robberies, kidnapping, assassination, you have bandits raiding towns killing hundreds of people, you have killer herdsmen marauding villages and leaving carnage and destruction behind. These are all internal threats, not even foreign attackers. So police is a vital organ of any society. SARS should be scrapped, that's what I think as a personal opinion. But does it mean that after scrapping SARS we won't have another anti-robbery police unit again? Of course we will and we must. Because we still have violent evil armed robbers all around society and so having an anti-robbery police unit is inevitable. So violently attacking or killing police is not the solution to the problem. The problem stems from an institutional crisis, it is a systemic problem. So, if I were to advice the Buhari and the IGP, I will say scrap the current unit, because they have gone rogue, turned themselves to Gestapo units for too long. It will be very hard to reform that. Because once you go dark like that, there's really no turning back. So they should be scrapped. And investigated and the guilty officers should be prosecuted and punished by govt according to the law, not jungle justice. Then the IGP should set up a new team from any new set of highly trained officers in anti-robbery operations, then set up a better institution of operations, better guidelines and better rules of engagement and limit them to their scope of anti-robbery only. Let the other anti-fraud police units like EFCC, ICPC, SFU etc go after yahoo boys and fraudsters. And even still, set up better rules of engagement for dealing with public for all of them, all the force units that deal with the public both publicly and inside the station. PROBLEM SOLVED! That's the kind of solutions and ideas people should be bringing up, not kill SARS. Killing police men is not and can never be the solution. |
Godbless3: Post like this justify why akwa ibom/calabar indigines kill criminals caught. If we leave in fear even when police is around then their existence is not wanted.Ok, so why did people make Police to police their societies if they are not necessary? Do you know how many people get attacked in their homes by violent criminals and armed robbers, people that got killed on highway trafffic robberies, men that have suffered disability from attacks, women that have been raped and killed? We just saw the news of the young lawyer, a girl barely in her 20's , she already has the horrific experience of being kidnapped by hardened criminals. Fortunately she was rescued, were you the one that went to rescue her, was it not police? She said her kidnappers were even planning to kill her that day. Do you know how many unfortunate victims have been wasted like that? And then you say we don't need police. Are you ready to patrol our society yourself and engage armed robbers that prowl around in shootouts? Smh! |
