Imagine someone saying that a Believer's way is ONLY prayer. Ok ! So why are you working to earn money and pay your bills? Why do you go to the market to buy food? Why do you cook what you eat.......etc? Why not sit somewhere and just pray for money so that money from heaven will just be entering into your account or wallet. Why not just sit somewhere and don't do your job or do any work and just pray and then the work will do itself....... Mtchwwwwwww! Even the Bible says Faith without works is dead. You cannot pray injustice away, you cannot pray oppression away, you cannot pray bad governance away, you cannot pray a good government into power. You have to act too, you have to physically participate in the process of change. Is it angels that will come and rig votes? Is it angels that will join political parties and contest for you? You see this faulty mentality of aloofness, this nonchalant attitude towards nation building, this mentality of its not our business, is exactly why the evil elements has taken over our societies, and then you continue to pray endless unnecessary prayers, unnecessary because if you had done the things you were supposed to do, you won't be needing those prayers. Continue shouting HolyGhost fire and cover your children with blood of Jesus 24/7 and ignore participating in the process that shapes society and let's see whether you won't fall victims of your own ignorance. Truly this is why He said my people perish for lack of knowledge. |
✓ People are been killed illegally; ✓ People are being killed extrajudicially; ✓ People are being extorted on false charges; ✓ People are being kidnapped illegally and forced to pay money for their freedom or otherwise they will be setup and framed for crimes they know nothing about; ✓ People are being stereotyped and falsely accused and oppressed; ✓ People are being harassed and assaulted, some have been left with permanent disabilities, some with unthinkable trauma by an organ of police that have gone rogue, gone dark and completely betray their oath of duty which is to serve and protect the public.......etc and then the society wants to protest peacefully and are protesting peacefully to demand for their rights, to demand for justice, to demand for an end to illegal oppression, to demand for change, to express their displeasure to the authorities etc, and then you as a Believer (or claiming to be a Believer) are saying it's none of your business, you operate under another system, you function by heavenly government, or you do your own protests by prayers etc.....these are some of the dumbest excuses ever! It shows your level of faith, it shows you don't know the One with Whom You Have To do the way you ought to know, it shows you're a baby. And I have to make this post to let the public know that not all Believers hold these childish views or perspectives. I'm a Believer and I will join peaceful protests whenever possible and will always support peaceful protests whenever it is required. May God bless all the End Sars peaceful protesters, and it is in record in Heaven that you spoke out and spoke up against injustice to your fellow human beings. God will surely reward you for good. He is a God of Justice! And He is a God that blesses those that support and fight against injustice. |
Revelations 6: 9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed. A peaceful protest = a public outcry of displeasure in a non-violent way. Look at the scriptures above, there were a particular group of saints in Heaven who gathered together and they called out in a lout voice (= public outcry) for justice. Another accurate interpretation of this is that they did a peaceful protest to God, they made a public outcry against injustice, they gathered and publicly yelled out and said God, how long before we will get justice, they weren't happy they had not gotten justice, that God had not rolled out punishment. Did God shut them up? Did he send angels to cancel their protests? No, He told them to wait a little longer = I have heard your protests, don't worry, I'm aware of your displeasure and outcry, I'm working on it, you will see the results soon. |
It's shocking to see people who claim to be Believers and it's shocking to see Believers who know the scriptures say that Believers should not participate in peaceful protests. Do you know there are (or will be, depending on the time perspective you look at it) "peaceful protests" (quote and unquote) in the Heaven that is existing currently? |
HeavenlyHolines:When it comes to scriptures, don't just know the letters, know the spirit in the letter. You're quoting a scripture that references about Jesus yielding himself as a sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world. How does this relate to a Believer not participating in peaceful protests? You still haven't answered. Jesus committed himself to Him that judges righteously = Jesus didn't retaliate when he was attacked by those who condemned him to die, a LEGAL condemnation (even though it was by a conspiracy and frame up) because he faced a trial and was declared guilty by law. How does this relate to peaceful protests? Are you saying the willing sufferings of Jesus at the hands of his oppressors means that we shouldn't protests? Are we the sacrificial lamb that the Bible says was set apart and slain from the foundation of the world for this very purpose to suffer and die for the sins of humanity? Study to show yourself approved. Don't just quote scriptures, you need to understand the Spirit of those letters. |
What does Protest mean? A protest is a public expression or communication of dissatisfaction or disapproval against something. A protest is a public outcry against something. A protest is not something secret, it is something openly done, a public display to express your views of displeasure about something. This is what it means to protest. Having understood this, then a peaceful protest means a public outcry against something in a peaceful way, a public demonstration or expression or communication of displeasure in a peaceful way. That is you don't employ violence or instruments of violence or engage in destructive methods while you protest. Therefore a Believer can and should participate in peaceful protests against injustice. It is a CIVIC duty. You can't call yourself a Believer and not stand up for justice or speak publicly against injustice. Then what kind of Believer are you? What exactly do you believe in as a Believer? Being a Believer means you believe in something and being a Christian Believer means you believe in and uphold the values of the Christian faith. Among the values of the Christian faith, do you know Justice is the most important? Do you know that even the God that you believe in hates injustice with passion and fights against injustice? |
I can see that some Believers on this thread don't really understand the meaning of protests, and so they don't understand the meaning of peaceful protests either |
Amatarasha:Show me the scripture where he said so, I just need 1 |
HeavenlyHolines:And how exactly do these scriptures relate to Believers not participating in peaceful protests? |
I don't know maybe today or later, when my mind is calm and clear, I will try to make a thread to write about why it is right for believers to join peaceful protests. Or maybe I won't, I don't know for now. My mind is in many places |

You're wrong. |
HeavenlyHolines:You're wrong. |
AududuNine11:Yes, a believer should join protests whenever there's injustice. Do you know there are "peaceful protests" in this current Heaven that's currently existing? |
Do you think if the North (NE + NW + NN) were the ones that had the crude oil Niger Delta has, they will collect 13% derivatives + NNDC (Northern Nigeria Development Commission) and be happy to share their 87% resources wealth with everyone else? Do you think if the North has the kind of IGR of over N500 billion that South West has, which is about 46% total national IGR, or combined with the South South about 80% total IGR etc do you think the North will share all that money with anybody else to their own detriment? It will NEVER happen. They would have formed their own country and removed themselves from such a one sided arrangement. The South should continue wasting away and selling their region for crumbs, and continue shouting stupid tribal slurs 24/7 against themselves like low IQ fools, while the North (NW + NE + NN) continues to rape your resources, suck your region dry and oppress your lands, and give your political elites just enough crumbs falling from their dining table to maintain the status quo and betray their region for 30 pieces of silver, while the North keeps the keys of the vault where the entire silver treasure is stored and plunder it as they wish. And some southerners will now insult the North that they are stupid, lol, no, they are the wisest people in this country. The North is 100% wise and intelligent and adept, they are highly life smart. The South thinks amassing the biggest paper certificates makes them intelligent, no, no, no, it only means you are book smart but as for real intelligence the South is close to ZERO intelligence. They can't even understand something as simple as the enemy of my enemy is my friend, they can't even put aside their differences away temporarily for a short time and unite for the greater good of self determination. All they do is come on Nairaland and insult themselves 24/7, brown roof, potorpotor, Tinubu, ikpeazu kerosene governor, but check the North, you won't even see them say Gandollar, you won't see NE insulting NW or NW insulting NN...... tuehhhhhh |
susy6999:Best Police unit in Nigeria. Always professional! May God continue to bless all the police RRS members and their leadership. |
Coronabirus:it's very interesting how you methodically listed the vices associated with the South but didn't mention the terrorism in the North, you know like Boko, ISWAP, killer herdsmen, bandits, drug addictions like codeine, pedophilia and all kinds of vices bedevilling the North. And that's why we should all form our different countries so we can concentrate on building better societies for ourselves. Self determination and wanting to have your own country is not evil, selfish or based on enmity. It is based on vision and ideals, based on compatibility. So don't worry about yahoo boys, skull miners, ritualists, drug peddlers, cultists etc in southern countries that will emerge. We will work to solve our own societal problems. We have enough intellectual capacity for nation building. We have more than enough purpose, goals and objectives. So let's worry about that, while you worry about fixing your own societal problems too like boko, ISWAP, killer herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers, carnage, bloodletting, extreme poverty, mass illiteracy and other vices plaguing the North. Then we can all have the countries of our dreams that we are proud of and be happy and we can be collecting Visas to visit eachother if the need arises. So of course, there's already purpose and objectives. The South don't want the Cabal oligarchy anymore, we want to control our own resources, we want self-determination, we want freedom to pursue our dreams, we want to take our destiny into our hands and build a nation that is unique to our culture, a country that we are 100% compatible with etc. So, if it's about purpose and objectives, there's more than enough. So far, all the Southern regions have indicated that they want self determination, that they want their own country. Let's summarize what they said they want: Niger Delta = 100% resources control = self determination South East = Biafra = self determination South West = O'dua = self determination Middlebelt = Middlebelt republic = self determination North (West + East + NN) = Arewa = self determination So what exactly are we still doing together with Nigeria? I'll tell you what: KEEPING THE DESTINIES OF HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN BONDAGE, exploitation of resources in certain zones, embezzlements etc. This is wrong. This formula and equation is not working and cannot work. |
hafsatadebisi:There's nothing wrong with you using a pseudonym and I don't have a problem with that. I was just curious that you're not one of those people who open pseudonym accounts using different tribe identities to cause tribal wars on Nairaland. And that's not the case here. |
hafsatadebisi:Your name is Ruth Nwanze on the receipt but you opened a Nairaland account and used the name Hafsat Adebisi..... Then you said your bank account name is Ruth N, which I presume the N stands for Nwanze, which matches your receipt. So why are you now using Hafsat Adebisi as your moniker, is that your boyfriend name or what? |
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem for in its peace shall you have peace". Any government that says its citizens will not have peace, that government too will not have peace. Buhari better do the right thing. Ordinary gunshot inside presidential villa compound, he changed their security team within 24 hours. How many more innocent Nigerian citizens have to die before he takes action? |
There is power in unity. If only the South can unite to accomplish the goal of self determination, unite to break away from Nigeria and form our separate countries and take our destinies into our own hands to build the kind of countries we can be proud of and create the kind of future we will be happy about. |
NybenSBF101:If you have a wild animal like a lion or tiger or bear that enters the human areas, if it doesn't kill anybody, do you know what the wildlife experts do? They will capture and relocate it back into the jungle, deep deep inside, so it won't wander back again easily. But if the wild lion, tiger or bear etc kills and/or eats a human, do you know what the wildlife experts will do? They will capture it and KILL IT immediately. Do you know why? Because once it has tasted human blood, there's no going back. It will start hunting people to eat. Same way, this SARS police unit have gone beyond reform and gone to a dark place and there's no going back. They have gone rogue as a unit, it has become part of their system. The govt didn't tackle this issue on time and those guys see themselves as wild cards, as above the law, as a force of impunity. You can't reform them again. They will go back to their vomit and illegalities in a very short time. Go and read about how Germany dealt with the Gestapo units. They got the army's special forces involved and rounded up all the Gestapo officers and their heads. The Govt (Presidency + IGP) needs to disband the unit completely, and investigate them, and all officers found wanting of extrajudicial killings, illegal tortures, public extortion and indiscriminate assaults, must be prosecuted and punished by the law. Those guilty of murder should be sentenced to public execution, and stripped off all entitlements. The Govt needs to make a serious example of them, so that it will serve as a deterrent to any other unit or agency that wants to tow that path and turn themselves to Gestapo killer units. After this is done, then the Govt can now set up a new anti-robbery unit and assemble a fresh team from newly trained officers in anti-robbery operations. Then roll out their reform agenda for the operational guidelines and rules of engagement with the public. Problem solved! |
a4cube:So you think the international powers that be who will determine and decide who becomes the WTO DG know whether one guy called Kayode exists? Or you think they follow him on twitter and depend on his tweets to appoint candidates? Very, very few people in this world have the kind of educational pedigree and qualifications that NOI has in her field. She's super-qualified any time any day. That's why she made it to the finalist stage. The people that are choosing are they illiterates, you think they don't know the background and accomplishment of each candidate? Both finalists are very excellent candidates, and both are women but 1 person will get the job eventually and this tweet is 100% inconsequential in determining that. So stop making political jobbers famous by feeding their controversies with attention! It's not even his article. I even checked it and saw that it's actually a yahoo new article and it's even recent 8th October, read the article here and see it. Whether why he decided to share this news on his Twitter is good or bad makes no difference at all. It doesn't change anything. https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/ngozi-okonjo-iweala-nigerias-hope-101439966.html It's just a normal news on Yahoo. Overall, the article is even in her favor. Most people here just fought tribal war for nothing, you just added more social media fame to this guy's name for FREE. |
Freebills12:So you think the DG WTO matter is not relevant enough to draw or exploit fame from? You're funny oh. Ok, if it can't get him fame, then why has this thread gotten to 9 pages and counting on Nairaland? For a thread to get to 9 pages means it is a traffic pulling thread. "Controversial" news sell. Kemi tweeted against Endsars and she tweeted against NOI DG nomination too, who is Kemi? Famous Journalist that got famous by dishing out controversies regularly on social media. She's so famous now that she has literally become a household name on social media. If she was politically inclined, by now she could have bagged a political appointment with one party or another. If the NOI WTO DG nomination is not something they can exploit for attention and fame, will Kemi have jumped on it? It's like you don't know how big that WTO DG job is. Even in international circles, it is pulling weight and pulling traffic as people are lobbying left right and center and there is huge media publicity on it. |
Bbbwings:Yes, you're correct but my point is that as per physiology, the body we have was given to us by God, we had no say in its makeup, capacity or capability. From embryo to how the bones were formed out of blood cells to teeth, to skin to organs etc, everything was predetermined by our Creator, we had no say or choice. I'm of the opinion their current grass eating habits is more of a reminder or exposé to us that shows eating grass is not impossible and that the Bible verse of lions being herbivores exclusively in heaven is believable. Because the kind of new body that they will have then will be determined by their Creator and if He says grass is what they will eat, I have no reason to doubt it. Unless, if your argument is whether the Bible is real or fake, and well that's another topic. My discussion is based on the reality of the Bible being true. But if you think it is not, then my suggestions or claims will be irrelevant or fallacious to you. |
collinsVP:The problem with the tribal keyboard warriors on Nairaland is that because they have trained themselves to be tribalistic all the time, you view everything from the lense of tribalism and it usually beclouds the reasoning and judgment and makes them think and act like every thing or every matter or every topic is always a "us VS. them" or "tribe VS. tribe". If you can comprehend well, then you should know the person tweeted that quote is a political figure or activist with a political background, political undertone and such people thrive or build their political portfolios by being controversial through the media and stirring up the bees hive on social media to gain fame and popularity among the public, even if it is negative publicity. That's how they eat, that's how they get political appointments from pro or anti political parties that support their political dispositions and want to exploit whatever social media popularity they have. That's how they build the frame of their political careers. But the fact is that this tweet is INCONSEQUENTIAL, it doesn't matter what his intentions were regarding the WTO DG nomination. If you're observant, you will know that the real purpose of the tweet was to stir up controversy that will get him more attention and fame on social media and you guys have already given that to him. Now, the matter is personal to him, has nothing to do with his tribe but then some keyboard tribal warriors have turned it to a tribal war, which is exactly what the political sponsors of division want. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. The tribal keyboard warriors can continue acting like puppets to their political agendas. Continue the tribal wars as long as you like. No problem. It's your phone, it's your data, it's your actions, it's your freedom of speech. I'm not stopping anybody. But I was just airing my opinion that a tribal war based on this tweet is totally unnecessary. |
Can you guys see the kind of wonderful things that happen when we unite with unity of purpose? This is why the powers that be holding this country in bondage continue to heavily sponsor divide-and-conquer propagandas in the country through social media, especially in the South because the day we unite is the beginning of the end of their corruption empires in this country, and the beginning of self determination without war among ourselves. |
Bbbwings:Don't worry, you can give them meat and blood to eat in Heaven na, since you're their Creator that will determine what they should eat or shouldn't eat, or whether they should not be exclusive herbivores, since you are the one that will create the new body they will be existing in. I think your name is God, the Creator. No problem. |
SmartPolician:His intention for tweeting her write up is irrelevant, whether he has a bad intention or has a good intention. It doesn't matter, it has no weight, it has no significance beyond just being another tweet among millions of tweets. The point is everything he tweeted was written by another person. That's the person people need to focus on. The person is American. The tribal war is unnecessary. Congratulations to the keyboard warriors that have made his irrelevant tweet famous by turning it to a tribal war. I hope the keyboard warriors are happy being disposable pawns that politicians use to further their own divide-and-conquer agendas |
