A king is not loved in his own home...The bigger the home the larger the hatred..Thankfully, the man is unperturbed by those who want to trade words with him...Most of those throwing insults do not even have the guts to stand before this man. Has he made mistakes? Yes, like every human being....We may not have liked the way he handled some issues, but we can't take away the fact that he is a Builder with a very expansive Network. I would have preferred a Peter Obi, but when I look at the Labour Party, I am afraid of those he may want to build with...Who are their aspirants or Governorship, Senate, House of Rep candidates. What is their pedigree... We may not like where we are today, but we should be careful about the future we wish to chart |

All I can say that as a people we deserve the government treatment we get. Very few people are critical thinkers even when it is obvious...When the truth is said, they begin to rationalise and justify. For you supporting this award, Ask yourself the following; Who are the real organisers and what was the criteria for selection? If the State is the organiser, Is there an act or law of the state backing it like the national award? What was the actual reward for each recipient..Forget the plaque, what else did they get and if you think this award did not come with monetary benefits then there is no greater fool. Even the Nobel Laurate has a $1m award. To me this is nothing more than selection of strategic influencers to galvanise public opinion amongst the women folk... It is the government's responsibility to device strategies to sway public opinion and it is YOUR responsibility to sieve through this web of lies and gaslighting. For those saying we should forgive..Can you say with your full chest that justice really prevailed in those incidents. There can be no Forgiveness without Truth and Justice. I commend Mr Macaroni; Not all Heroes wear Cape |

At the end of the day, it's not like they had more men on the field nor were they exemplary in this game. If we don't cause upsets like this, how is our ranking going to move higher. ElPayaso: |
If we had gotten 70% of the free throws in and had more team work we could have won this game.. The guys just relaxed when they drew level in the 1st quarter |

My people perish for lack of knowledge: The initial timeline for recapitalization was too short even for the big insurers to raise any meaningful capital. Also, if companies wanted to merge, they must conduct due diligence assessments and be sure of what contracts they are entering before buying. Naicom may now be realizing this, hence the extension. I believe many are not aware of the benefits of insurance and that's why many families move into the poverty trap when the breadwinner dies, simply because he had no form of protection for the family. It's not about Jesus/Mohammed.. It's about who has our backs when one of us gets diagnosed with a disease or has an accident or dies and leaves behind a young family.. The days of insurers refusing to pay claims are over if you have the correct documentation. This is one of the reasons they are being asked to shore up the capital amongst other reasons.. |

Deltayankeeboi:I just pray you don't have any reason to go to a govt hospital this period.. You will know the impact of this strike when nobody is there to attend to you. No nurse to issue card or even take vital signs. No lab to conduct tests.. If you need a breather.. Nobody to administer ICU.. No specialist to administer anaesthesic.. This nonsense should stop. |

HigherEd:Oga just leave these negative comments... We as a people do not record our history and we do not take the effort to appreciate those who do.. That is why we will keep going backwards as a nation, since we keep repating the same mistake. 2019 will be another mistake...Coz all we do is pray but no action. |
jaychubi:I am really open to ideas on what really to do. Tried a couple of businesses but didn't work out |
Many of us have wonderful aspirations in life, but many aspirations are constrained by financial capacities, environment and all. Let me start by sharing mine. I did an analysis of what it would take to buy a home and based on my earnings and the duration, I did a projection. On contacting a mortgage house, the interest rates were staggering. I would expect that being a long term loan, interest rates should be slightly higher than a T-bill but when I got feedback, the least I could find was 22% pa. That's crazy to say the least.. You really don't understand the impact of when things are not working in this country till you want to get something done... Now the only option left is to save, invest and hope to buy or build if possible and hope that house prices don't catch up with inflation when you are ready but, really when you compare any investment with the historical inflation rate, there is very little real return on your investment even the so-called aggressive funds are just slightly above inflation with highea risk. Over to you guys... What's your biggest financial worry |
You can also throw in your questions on any issue about insurance. Please note that I am not a financial advisor or marketer. This is just my way of enlightening Nigerians. I understand that the industry has had it's issues in time past but times are changing. New investors are coming in and running things efficiently and ethically. There is a renewed hope and confidence now and insurers are better informed about the risks they face from perils of product they bring to the market. People need to see insurance as a way of transferring wealth to the next generation. |
The key function of insurance is for protection against uncertainty. The insurance company takes ownership of the risks you face, either personal or business risks and indemnifies you in the event of any loss. The principle of indemnity is to try and restore you to your financial position prior to the loss event. The insurance company also protects itself from huge claims through reinsurance. Huge claims can occur on the occurrence of a single event like the Benue flood if many people had taken policies like household contents Insurance or property damage, Farmers would have protected the value of their crops if they had agricultural insurance |

We live in an ever changing environment complete with its’ attendant risks and opportunities. Rapidly decreasing real wages due to inflation and currency depreciation over the past year, high cost of living, increase in crime rates, and increasing death rates due to road accidents, epidemics and now terrorism. It has become imperative for us as individuals to take charge of our finances and protect our future. We don’t like to talk about death in this part of the world, but let’s face it, death is real, even our favorite t.v series Game of Thrones confirms this with the saying Valar Morghulis meaning “All men must die”. The real question is How prepared are you for it? Let me ask this simple question, If Death knocks today, Are your total assets as at today enough to take care of your dependents till they become independent? If your answer is Yes, then maybe you don’t need life insurance, but if No, then why leave their future to chance? Many families have their dreams shattered simply because there was no support after the death of the breadwinner. Life insurance would have provided that support if the breadwinner had one. The standard of living in most countries ties with the level of insurance it's citizens have. Over the next few days, I will be sharing the different types of life insurance available, their benefits and risks. So share your thoughts |
