Be it money, relationship or a high position in career, happiness and satisfaction would elude us after attaining, if our motives and intentions are wrongly defined.

Your motivation for a particular position or office in career should be primarily about the purpose of the office. You must be driven by a will to contribute through the office to the overall success of the business.

You must come up with your strategies and plans on how to improve the capacity and value-adding potentials of the office. You must be excited about engaging your creativity in making the office or position outstanding performance wise – setting new records, innovations and superior output.

It should never be about how many people now report to you, the size and beauty of your office, your official cars, perks and other benefits tied to the office. It should never be about power tussle, who rules, who controls and who’s in charge, it shouldn’t be about having your way and imposing your will on everybody and the system in general.


You must be seen as gentle, reliable, self-controlled, thoughtful, considerate and a good listener. Because when you invest too much energy dealing with people instead of focusing on your responsibility and productivity, you’ll eventually malfunction.

In career many confuse position with power. In fact many can’t tell the difference between the purpose of a position and the purpose of the power tied to the position.

Position in career is 100% about responsibility. It’s about what you should be doing and accomplishing. It’s about the role and function of the office.

What does that office exist for? Why was it created? What are the nature, quality and degree of value expected from the position? What should the person in that position have the capacity to generate and contribute?

Positions generally are about work and responsibility, every position created in a company is for work to be done there. Now if the occupant of that position thinks more about hierarchy, levels, control, respect and class and can hardly see the work in the position as the main thing, there is going to be ineffectiveness and work crisis.

Such a one would be distracted and self-conscious, the work would cease to be priority and non- value-adding office matters would he prioritise.

Another example is confusing association with relationships.

A good, rewarding relationship must be well defined from the start. When people begin to associate without defining the reason and the essence, it most often ends up in crisis and hurt.

Association without definition is not a relationship because all relationships must be well defined. When an association is well defined, then it becomes a relationship. An association may have a name tag and yet not be well defined. For example ‘we’re friends’ is an association tag but the relationship is yet to be defined. This is because there a different kinds of friendships. If the parties involved don’t define clearly this friendship, its crisis waiting to happen.

For every association, you must have a purpose and a definition. This definition will entail the details of your own responsibilities and expectations and the other party must also share the same picture in details as far as the relationship is concerned, this is when there can be real fulfilment and satisfaction in the relationship.

For example, money is not an end; it’s a means to an end. Many confuse these two ideals.

Money in itself is nothing without an end in mind or a well-defined purpose for it. I’ve heard many people say I want to be rich, very rich and they are willing to work very hard to get money.

Eventually, when they become well off, they are still unhappy and frustrated because they mistook money for an acquisition that would bring happiness, but money doesn’t really bring happiness and satisfaction, it is when it is used for a well pre-defined purpose that it brings satisfaction and real peace.

When you spend money carelessly just to acquire unnecessary material things and for selfish ends, it makes you unhappy.

There is what is called buyers remorse – a bad feeling that comes after buying something you realise you never really needed. Hence, you find a lot of rich frustrated people acting in lawlessness, oppressing and intimidating the so-called less privilege. This is simply because they really don’t understand what money means and its real purpose.

Tragically the cash then becomes a curse and their undoing.

Life generally is about trade-offs. For anything you want, you must be willing to sacrifice for it. There is nothing really free I tell you.

Many today want better quality of life, more income, more time, better living standards, health, peace, happiness, security, friendships and quality relationships. These are all good things that of course would bring satisfaction and fulfilment. But truth is they all come with a price tag.

You see, you can’t have it all without giving up something; you can’t eat your cake and have it. You must be willing to give something to get something. That’s the way life is.
Look at your life right now, what do you really want? What is that thing you’ll get that would really make you happy and satisfied?

You see, it’s important we correctly define what we actually want. If we are not very clear on what we want, we may end up chasing the wrong thing and becoming frustrated if eventually, that thing does not bring the joy and satisfaction desired.

Many today confuse means with ends, processes with accomplishments, accesses with destinations, association with relationships. They can’t really tell the difference; unfortunately, they still end up frustrated.

I’d never forget a young lady I counselled a few years ago. Her parents had asked she come to see me on the account of marriage; she didn’t want to marry the man they all loved and felt was good for their daughter. Reintroduce yourself to your very best self before that disappointing experience and surge forward in purpose, power, potential and personal possibilities. Dear friend it’s time to stop expecting others to do for you what you can do for yourself.

You still have a sound mind, hence, you can be creative and can build a most fantastic life for you again for all to see and admire even the very ones who disappointed you. Burst the past and embrace a great future. It’s all up to you.

Think about this my friend, who has really hurt and disappointed you lately or a long time ago and even now you’re struggling to let go? The matter of fact is, this person may have absolutely forgotten about what he or she did to you and they’re free of the matter, the weight of the experience unfortunately still lies with you.

Many times when we go through a disappointing experience, most initial reaction is shock and negative surprise. We then recoil into our shells, we find it hard to trust again, we retreat and then conclude everyone is bad and no one can really be trusted. We use the sad experience as a basis for future human interaction and personal vulnerability.

Many times when we’ve been through severe disappointments, it lingers with us so long and so strong people around us can feel it but we never realise it.

We assume people can’t notice but it’s so glaring. Most of the time, your opinion, views, perspectives, advocacies, judgments and interactive tendencies keeps mirroring your mind state.

What you say, your conclusion on matters and judgments reflects your heart condition.

When your heart is bruised based on a disappointing experience, you come across as wronged, offended, bitter, unforgiving, suspicious, arrogant, stuck up, desperate, selfish and often, unfriendly.

People can easily see it, everyone can sense it. Everyone then begins to cope with you and chose to tolerate you. If they had a choice they’d rather not want to be with or around you, but if you’re family or a colleague, they’re left with no choice. Your heart condition is critical to how people see you and would choose to interact with you.

You’re stunned, to shocked to think, it can’t be, definitely, it’s not the end, but trust me, after a few days, you’ll realise it’s just the way it is, you have failed.

Disappointment has found its way into your case and you’re feeling it real bad. Disappointment, disappointment. Hmmm

Disappointment is when you experience disconnection from an appointed expectation. When what you expect to happen does not happen due to circumstances and developments you didn’t foresee, imagine or think existed.

Disappointment is most painful when it has its origin in people and not circumstances. It’s easier to bear when it’s a circumstance, but most difficult to take or handle if someone is the cause.

When someone you love, trust and respect, makes you a promise and you believe this person so much so, you’ve jettisoned other options and possibilities on the account of this promise, and at the end of the day, this person you so believed in lets you down with little or no excuse or explanation.

You feel so bad considering all the time, effort and trust wasted; everything gone down the drain, you remember other options you ignored and neglected on the account of this promise that has now failed you, and you get so pained.

Disappointments can really be devastating depending on the importance of the matter or the investment gone down the drain, probably in cash, emotions, hard work and time. It’s painful.

Disappointment is when a preferred option out of many fails to deliver; when your appointment is dissolved.

The greatest pain could be the fact you had other consideration which you ignored and now you look back in regret especially if one of the considerations you rejected is now working out perfectly.

If it has to do with people, you’re hurt, they didn’t keep their end of the bargain and you begin to lose hope and confidence in people; resentment, offence and at times vengeance may begin to find roots in your heart.

Is this my life, is this all there is to me, you begin to think. You arrive at a point in your life when you’re utterly confused and at your very end. You do not know what else to do or how else to work it, you don’t even know where and how to turn, you’re stuck in a place and situation too hard for you to crack, too tough to cope with and too overwhelming to comprehend.

You don’t even know the next step to take. You’re too tired, emotionally and psychologically to consider new options or initiatives. You have become devastated, discouraged and shattered to be able to even think again. The world now looks impossible, your life now appears out of your control, you feel all that’s left is for you to just float and exist, you think all the principles and advise and ideas successful people share daily are just but a ruse, you’re now almost sure this life is a tragedy, your hope is all gone, your faith is failing, no one appears genuine anymore; everything appears just like a maze or a puzzle you can never resolve. You are disappointed.

Many times as humans we get inspired and motivated to try new things, new ways, new businesses, new careers and even relationships. We believed we’ve had it all well thought through, we seek counsel and advice and everyone says it’s a brilliant idea. You think it over and over again and everyone including the experts say to you no need to fear, it’s a perfect idea, then you invest, indulge and attempt; suddenly, the perfect exciting idea, commended by everyone and endorsed by experts begin to crumble, unforeseen circumstances and developments truncate the possibility of success. You fight, you work hard, pull every string, run to everyone relevant, campaign, advocate and fight hard to make it work as much as possible but alas, it isn’t going to work and you gradually watch every dream and expectation dissolve and vaporise before your very eyes.

So far, I have analyzed from the commencement of this thread to the present as regards the objectives of the thread and that of the OP and my cessation is that this discourse,the scriptures provided and other valuable opinions by unperturbed and unruffled individuals on this thread have indeed strengthened my stance against homosexual acts whether its consensual or not!

Once again the scriptures have triumphed over the controversial postulations which endeavoured,fruitlessly,to impose or dispute explicit scriptures on the bible’s stance against homosexuality!
The OP emphatically claimed in his own words that God saw nothing untoward about consensual homosexual acts….Unfortunately and dolorously,he was unable to make any near semblance to such scriptures supporting his viewpoint and that’s because such scriptures doesn’t EXIST!
The bible is coherent and perspicuous about the consensual union/sexual intercourse between a man and a woman which was expressly endorsed by God almighty!


The op would deviously say ‘what is wrong with two adults engaging in a consensual homosexual act’?....The aim of such statements is to provoke empathy from the supposed open-minded!
Everything is fallacious about such deeds no matter what analogy or sugar coating used!
A pig will still submerge itself into a mud no matter how well they are treated or clothed!
Its fool-hardy to do a wrong thing in the right way....!
So no matter the tag ‘consensual’ used to tie around homosexual acts, such acts are unorthodox,abhorrent and mortifying!
God,in his wisdom, created and endorsed a union between man and woman to procreate and multiply which WAS and STILL is his plan for mankind and no scripture inclination has mentioned anything contrary or indirectly created a union other than the one endorsed by God!

Never was there a necessity or future proclamation of same sex union as erroneously suggested by the OP!
This is made glaring with scriptures calling acts of same sex union as UNNATURAL…in other words,not based on the plans and features of a natural union which is between a man and woman!



Lastly, to those who have stood firm in the face of insults, provocation and manipulation from Op and invited partners in crime,i think we have all made our salient points known and at the end,the word of God has finally prevailed against any alteration outside the word of God!
What has been said is more than satisfactory for the wise to comprehend!
Hence I would humbly suggest that we avoid extending this thread by falling for the OP's obvious but incessant prevaricating and digressing ploys!
We are not here to force anyone to reject or accept our submissions….however, Let others peruse the back and forth of this thread and let them decide for themselves!
