Seeeeee the ETHIOPIANS I was just praising,
Little did I know they were just 1st half players.
It appears ETHIOPIANS only trained for 45minutes for a 90minutes game?
They tried but their coach had a wrong game plan in the second half!
Knowing the camerounians will come out guns blazing, they should have played a compact game in the midfield and frustrate them a bit before using their pace to good effect during the closing minutes of the game to score!
A very good and compact team will overrun and punish the camerounian defence!

PoliticsRe: Ahmed Lawan: Ninth Assembly Under Me Not Perfect, We Made Some Errors by openmine(m): 12:52am On Jan 13, 2022
Nothing good can ever come out from a rubber stamp senate president!
The electoral bill the senate threatened to veto only for them to make a ridiculous U-turn and conjured a last minute face-saving hilarious move to seek counsel from their constituents over the electoral bill is enough proof that the senate presided by Ahmed lawan is a confirmed toothless bulldog and has fantastically failed!

Great gameplan!
Very good start!
I have never seen this commitment and zeal since the super eagles last won the Afcon in 2013!
Aribo played very well in that midfield and has justified his inclusion!
Awoniyi is another fine striker that should be given more opportunities for the super eagles...If he is not scoring,he is troubling the defenders...its a pity he never kicked a ball for LFC due to British work permit!
Sub Ejike, twice, should have made the scoreline comfortable by placing the ball to a better positioned player instead of going for glory...just happy that the wasted chances did not come back to haunt us!
Overall, huge credit to Austin Eguavoen for his tactical setup!
Onto the next game!

PoliticsRe: NLC Mobilises For Protests Against Fuel Price Hike On Jan. 27th, Feb. 1st by openmine(m): 2:11pm On Jan 10, 2022
backbencher:
On the other hand we cannot sell fuel at a loss and pay an increasing amount in subsides to cover the loss ,which forces us into more and more debt.
You still dont get it!
We are done with the economic effect of another mindless and insensitive increment!
If the economic hardship in the country is not affecting you, then congrats on being a billionaire!
We cannot keep paying for the incompetence and sluggishness of the FG...we have been doing that for more than 26 years!
If they want to stop subsidy, they should do so after the refineries start working and dispensing not before.....and the solution is not to bribe 30% of the citizens with a monthly peanut of 5k whose purchasing power will evaporate once the subsidy is removed!

backbencher:
Let's be realistic. All the arguments you are using now we're used in 2012 and before. And we lost a lot of golden opportunities to save money , attract more money and jobs.
The reality which you fail to see due to an obviously partisan inclination of this horrendous administration is that if we don't fix the refineries and go ahead to take off the subsidy, the money and jobs you keep talking about will be irrelevant when inflation hits the roof!
We are talking about how to reduce the sufferings of an already burdened citizens by doing what should have been done a long time ago and U are busy talking about creating phantom jobs and monies they haven't made since they came onboard!

backbencher:
Unless you have an alternative.
The alternative is simply to fix the refineries and hope the new ones will be ready anytime from now...then ensure they start dispensing products before subsidy is removed!
Mind you subsidy removal must be a gradual process....a total removal of fuel subsidy will bring the economy down to its knees and spell doom for the country including the purchasing power of the currency!
PoliticsRe: NLC Mobilises For Protests Against Fuel Price Hike On Jan. 27th, Feb. 1st by openmine(m): 12:15pm On Jan 10, 2022
backbencher:
ON refineries, PH and Warri are being repaired, plus we have five private refineries coming up, Dangote included, that can refine PMS (BUA's refinery can refine everything but PMS).
Are being repaired or have been repaired?
I guess its the former I'm referring to which buttresses my earlier point that the FG was asleep for the better part of their administration!
If they had done the repairs or built the new refineries earlier esp the first 2 years, we wont be in this situation where the FG uses the citizens as a scapegoat to get over their obvious incompetence!

backbencher:
ON subsidy, the writing has been on the wall for some time. Subsides are funded by crude oil revenue, whose price has not been favorable to us for several years now, and even long before 1993. Alternatives like tax revenue, and revenue from non-oil exports are not enough to pay for subsides, and finally, subsides means that no one until recently was going to invest in refinery and sell fuel at a loss, with the subsidy unable to cover the resultante loss.
So in other words, the FG will still call on her already economically burdened and tax inflicted citizens to still swallow more hardship simply because they failed to get their priorities right abinitio?
Any slight or humongous increment in fuel price will definitely inflate already high cost of goods and services! Everyone will be gravely affected including the wealthy!
Subsidy will definitely go but it must be gradual......refineries must start working in order to convince the citizens that something significant is being done by the FG to ameliorate their current plight!
Nobody loves to have a huge hole in their pocket, but why not fix that hole instead of putting more burden and pressure on it!
PoliticsRe: NLC Mobilises For Protests Against Fuel Price Hike On Jan. 27th, Feb. 1st by openmine(m): 11:24am On Jan 10, 2022
The FG used more than 6years living in denial instead of taking loans to repair the moribund refineries or/and build new ones as a compliment!
Now they want to subject Nigerians to more hardship with more than a 100% increase in the fuel price..
What is their backup plan to reduce the effect on Nigerians and the economy? bribing 40 million Nigerians with 5k monthly! Hilarious!

Protest before the price increase?
Would you prefer that FG first makes an increase which will definitely be in the range of 250-300 per litre only to reduce it to 190 or 200?

Good game. But some things I noticed in this match
1. A lot of unnecessary back passes
2. Sloppy and very soft passes that any good opponent will take advantage of
3. Konate easily loses focus. He is a good defender but maybe just a little above average.
4. Klopp loves to take risk. You could have started firmino and Minamino in the beginning before subbing them after we have buried the game.
5. Curtis Jones jokes a lot on transition and most times end up dulling the game.
#YNWA
1-2 The team just came out from isolation due to Covid 19 and just trained on saturday before playing this match!
I wont expect much coordination esp in the first half because they never had much time to train....mini is just recovering from an injury and firmino has been self isolating just like Fabinho!
3.Konate is very good though being a young player,he will make little mistakes...he will learn from it and become better!
Interestingly, you hardly praise him when he does well in other matches!
4. All successful managers have taken risks and thats why they are regarded as top coaches!
Without risks,TAA would have currently been a squad player @ LFC.....without risks from Former LFC coach late Gerard Houlier,we would never have seen the emergence of Steven Gerard at a very tender age!
Risks make top coaches!
5.Still young and will get better!
He needs to add confidence to his game and what better match than an FA cup tie against a lowly shrewsbury town!
Overall, your assessment of the team is good and worth noting but try to be less critical and talk more of the positives next time! Thank you!

You're talking about the symptoms of a deep-lying disease which is our warped political system. America has had more power-drunk governors than Nigeria. Most of what we see in Nigeria is child's play compared to what has happened in the American democracy.

But the fact remains that community or state police is a fundamental criteria of a federation. Without it, a federation can never be a federation.

Forget about the noise that governors will abuse it. Those things can be corrected by legislations.
True!
PoliticsRe: President Buhari: State Police Is Not An Option by openmine(m): 1:53pm On Jan 05, 2022
So what then should be the option?
Wait till everyone is vanquished by these terrorists?

You mean the 'status quo' that has not only failed scandalously but has been a consistent tool for the office of the president to cajole & threaten political opponents?

as much as I understand the fears in some quarters about the flip side of state policing, its simply the only option we have & an alternative whose time has come!

However, the main issue of state policing is not really funding but 'control'!
Who controls or who would the state police commissioner be answerable to?
Who recommends & appoints the police commissioner?

Falana (SAN) once opined that security control should be handed to the people of that state & they should be the ones to decide who is the CP!

He further explained that each state should have a police council that is made of a rep from the civil society, judiciary, the state government, traditional rulers,Nans etc

This group of individuals will determine who is appointed as the state CP,the CP will also be control by the council while finding/training should rest on the shoulders of the state government!
In the future, there should be a special tax to fund the civil security of the state!
