bigpicture001:How is that his inheritance? No wonder he was bragging about becoming a big boy! He would have destroyed a business a man spent years and sweat building! For the fact that the late father included conditions like reduced police cases simply implies that the son was really in the wrong side of the law which automatically make him a liability! Would you hand your business or enterprise to such an irresponsible fellow? |
This news is not only old but irrelevant! GEJ is no longer a President! Neither is he contesting for a post as a President in 2023! Probably a political stunt by the OP to justify a deed previously done by their corrupt principal! |
ghm:We need more refineries to not only cater for our ever growing consumer base which will create a competitive business environment but also create jobs for Nigerians! |
Its terrible when you cannot really enjoy an important aspect of your marital life because your partner is not sexually receptive! Its even worse when that same partner is unwilling to tackle the problem and find lasting solutions to their sexual needs but would selfishly and unapologetically advise that their spouse should m.asturbate as a way of satisfying their sexual urge! Most times,i don't blame those who explore their sexual capability and compatibility with their partners before marriage! eleyi gidi gan ![]() |
chaloskyx:Texas,a state in the US,have 27 working refineries! |
Biodun556:Let the local refineries start working to full capacity before they contemplate the removal of the subsidy! Besides,Dangote will not sell his PMS at a cheaper rate unless he gets tax breaks/holiday or gets the crude oil at a reduced price! |
Either way, we will still have to pay a price until the FG does the right thing by rehabilitating the refineries...which was contained as a priority in their manifesto! If this administration had repaired and modified these refineries earlier, by now we would be talking about building more refineries to compliment what we already have! |
Golan007:That's why i did not use ALL but MOST in making my comment! It still happens in Africa......If the number is reducing then thats a good development but MOST of the players from the Nigerian leagues claiming 18-21 are lying! |
He even played for two clubs before joining Bordeaux! ![]() Most Players from the Nigerian league leave for greener pastures at their late 20s! By the time they are ready for the big leagues in europe, they are already in their late 30s....so some who are super fit play for 3-4 seasons(barring any serious injuries) before going out of form and retire at one chinese or saudi league! A case study is Keita who plays for my club LFC! |
When you keep comparing yourself with another person, you will always be the one behind! Know this and know peace! |
slawormiir:Still watching that film till the present.....The running of T-1000 when the terminator drove a police vehicle on reverse from the mental institution was awesome! ![]() Robert and Arnold finish work for that film! ![]() For me Terminator 2 should have been the end of the franchise! The rest were not just there and they messed up the storyline when they did the last Terminator film! |
backbencher:I ask again...where do you want the youths who are currently unemployed and constitute 40-50% to pay taxes from? You keep looking at the citizens as a means of tax collection....has the same government been truthful or transparent about the revenue generated from their agencies? Nigeria remains the poverty capital of the world where most families cannot sustain one square meal daily and you want to burden them with taxes from a currency whose purchasing power is on a downward slide? Your truth may not be the absolute even if you place it on repetition! [s] backbencher:[/s] You are going ahead of yourself! Where is the electricity supply to start with? What are you even saying? So we must suffer for the ineptitude of an FG who lacks the foresight in terms of service delivery? I just told you that Nigerians pay for electricity bills yet no service delivery...Nigerians pay for a Transformer, feederpiller and cable wires which should be the sole responsibility of PHED! What is the responsibility of a service delivery company like PHED? Should i just throw away monies and i end up not getting the services that i require? backbencher:Noooh please continue...its not easy defending the incompetence of this government! |
backbencher:With profound respect to you,it would seem that you only read to react than comprehend! The african countries you gave out...what is their unemployment rate? What is the unemployment rate of Nigeria before the recession and during the pandemic? How do you want Nigerians to pay more in taxes when over 40-50% of our population(mostly the youths) remain unemployed? Will the unemployed that are made up of the youths get the tax monies from yahoo yahoo or prostitution? If you had comprehended properly,i said these african countries you rolled out gleefully have not only reduced unemployment thereby increasing their tax net but have also attracted, through their flexible policies, local and foreign investors/businesses which further increased employment and boosted their tax returns! This is one of the ways a government can offer service delivery to their citizens! Aside Oil revenue, agencies of government have been remitting less than what they generate in a month.....I gave an instance of NPA! If you combine the ACTUAL amount of funds generated from these agencies of government including the extortive and exorbitant taxes Nigerians are paying through their noses,it will meet 90% of the revenue gotten from oil! I stand to be corrected! backbencher:In a nutshell,What you have analyzed is simply because the FG CANNOT supply electricity to every community or state in Nigeria! The TRANCOS are still limited to 5000mW which is not enough to supply to every household or industry in Nigeria hence they will definitely run at a loss even if the private companies are the ones running the show in terms of pricing! They have tried and its already failing! Hence, there should be a constitutional alteration to empower all tiers of government to produce their own electricity or get an investor to do such! I dont blame those who dont pay for power they dont even use....how can one pay as much as 6k estimated bill and yet only receive 2hrs of electricity every month? Nigerians pay for a faulty/new Transformer,a faulty feederpiller, replacement of fuse...Is that not madness? They praise them because there is no service delivery on the part of the providers! First, they should fix the power supply and ensure consistency....then they can send their staffs to monitor the connectivity of the electronic meters.....Some People will always bypass but not without the knowledge of the PHED staffs who aid them to do such! Good afternoon! |
backbencher:No sir ....It happens due to the availability and affordability of the products due to consistent power supply, harmonized tax, reduced transport cost and road accessibility in those countries........ Even if we mechanise,as long as we still have persisting issues with unavailable power supply, multiple taxation, hiked transport cost,we will still head no where! If the FG cannot do anything about those issues i mentioned, the manufacturer will definitely heap the burden of his production cost on the consumers and the consumer will be forced to buy the commodity that is affordable from another country due to the funds at their disposal or will outrightly decide not to purchase locally made but expensive products from Nigeria which will eventually affect the manufacturer whose commodity will be returned and they will run at a loss! backbencher:I have a simple question......the african countries you mentioned.....what is the purchasing power of their currency? What are the developmental strides of those countries you mentioned compared to ours? I ask....The taxes that are available to the authorities...what have they been able to use it for? The agencies that have been unable to remit their actual cashflow....what steps have been taken to plug such loopholes and ensure the actual funds are remitted to the coffers of the country? Lets stop comparing ourselves to african countries that have gone very far in terms of service delivery to their citizens! backbencher:Have energy experts not advised the FG to decentralize the power sector through the amendment of the constitution? Does the FG have the wherewithal to supply adequate and consistent power to all the communities in Nigeria including their states? The answer is an absolute NO! There are states with the financial muscle to create and establish Power stations in their state but the law is saying that any power station must first be fed to the national grid! If the states have the mandate or constitutional powers to provide power to their states, the burden will be taken away from the FG! You are saying only 40% pay for power...How many energy consumers in Nigeria have electronic meters? How many consumers have stable power supply in Nigeria? More than 70% of power consumers resident here are on estimated billing.....why should they pay for services that they dont even get? Does that make any sense to you? Haba ![]() |
backbencher:So who loses from not buying or patronizing the local products or commodity due to the unavailability of power? The manufacturer or the consumer? Are you aware that there is a purchase of huge amount of rice smuggled from countries that share border with us at a far lower price than the amount in Nigeria? backbencher:@ highlighted...This is totally untrue! Nigerians have paid more than enough taxes unless you are not in this country or commenting from another country! We pay about more than four different taxes when when transacting online! For every purchase made on any commodity, there is a VAT Lets even admit without conceding that we dont pay enough taxes as you are alleging, what have the authorities done with the ones that they currently have? How many major roads have the FG(both past and present) done with the taxes that have been given? What about the health and educational sector that keep going on strike to press home their demand for enough funding which is a necessity? Furthermore, aside tax payment, one of the reasons why FG is finding it hard to get funds is because most of the revenue generating agencies do not remit their actual cashflow.....Imagine an agency like NPA that was meant to remit 500billion at a particular year only remited 50 billion...is that the fault of Nigerians? Lets even ask....are we not suppose to run a federated system of government where state own their own resources and remit to the centre? Most of the rail projects could have been handled by most of the states with or without the involvement of the FG! backbencher:Rice can be sold for even less if the FG fixes the power sector and reduce the multiple taxes that have ensured the manufacturers reflect it on their production cost! Is it rocket science that countries with adequate power supply like Ghana sell their products a lot cheaper than Nigeria? |
backbencher:So whats the essence of parading locally made rice when its more expensive than the foreign rice? If the issue is production cost, why cant the government tackle the issue of unavailable power supply. Multiple taxations and accessibility of roads to ensure a reduction in the cost of these products? Mind you if the prices dont come down, more consumers will keep patronizing rice from countries where their production cost! |

Use the 18 months and fix those moribund refineries and possibly build new ones! The FG liked being forced to do things they should have done a long time ago! |
rentAcock:They know they cant do away with it without the local refineries working! Who will bear the cost when the subsidy is removed? Ofcourse the consumers! No one is saying subsidy should not be removed but if they dont provide the refineries needed before removal, something worse than anarchy will happen in Nigeria! |
No one is saying that the fuel subsidy wont go away eventually but, beyond the upcoming election as reason behind the suspension,do we know the grave consequences of removing subsidy when there are no local refineries in place? There will be untold hardship that will adversely affect not just the economy but everyone no matter their financial status! This will cause anarchy and what followed the #EndSars protest will be child's play compared what we may witness post Subsidy removal! Now that the NNPC has been privatised, they should start giving out licenses to those who intend investing or building refineries in the country! The federal government should start rehabilitating the remaining 3 moribund refineries and ensure the modular refineries that they managed to build start refining as soon as possible! Once we are able to have more than enough capacity locally to supply consumers with enough refined products, subsidy will die a natural death! If the current administration had taken loans very early in their first term to modify and rehab those dying refineries,by now,we would have been talking about building new refineries to compliment the ones already functioning! |

I received such messages but never replied so they increased the funds from 50k to 500k ![]() I simply blocked them and informed truecaller that the number is from a scammer! Even when they sent me a message on whatsapp,i still blocked them with no reply! I dont even bother calling or replying because some sophisticated scammers might have access to your phone if you call them or reply their messages! Just ignore, block and report them! |
philGeo:Nothing like Juju! Its simply called GREED! They will never tell you how much they were promised by the scammer and because of the shame of being swindled despite seeing themselves as being smart, they refer to their predicament as JUJU influence! |
Omor see tweets about Okoye and PMB ![]() Hope they dont close down twitter tomorrow due to the bashing PMB is collecting ohh ![]() But on a serious note, the call by PMB,despite his best intentions, was ill timed and should have been done after the tournament.....That unfortunate call and tempting pledges by some notable Nigerians put the players in an awkward situation which partly resulted in a dismal performance tonight! No matter how well you perform during the group stages, soccer experts will tell you that its during knockout stages where the boys are separated from the men....hence the SE players were supposed to have maintained maximum concentration...any little distraction will put pressure on the boys and make them have such forgettable performances like we witnessed today! NFF should have protected the players from the public and ensured that they play down on the success during the group stage until their goal is achieved! This should be a lesson to the handlers at NFF thats if they will ever learn! |
raphy:Nooooh he is a mancity fan who hid his face in shame when his team haplessly lost a UCL last season but keeps chestbeating about serially winning the carabao cup ![]() |
[s] uunwanaobong3:[/s] ![]() A glorified noisemaker and tactless chestbeater shamelessly bragging about being serial winners of a less fancied Cup but cannot even win a single UCL despite huffing and puffing at previous attempts only to manage reaching the finals last season! Did they bring Pep to win carabao cup repeatedly or to lift the UCL? Why cant he win the elusive UCL that he finally managed to reach the finals only to lose haplessly to one of the supposed children,Chelsea! ![]() Lucky? were you sleeping under a rock when LFC were leading 2nd placed Mancity by an astonishing 21 points? Lucky is if LFC won the EPL that season with a margin of just a point....LFC finished the season with a humongous 15 points despite losing few matches! Oga beg Pep to win UCL nah instead of making noise about Carabao cup! |
Bride price paid in full after initial gragra ![]() Once again LFC team is not about Mane or Salah... though we still need them but its important that Klopp made that definite statement that no player is indispensable! Great result! Nice one DieGOAL OJOTA ![]() #WEMOVE #YNWA |
Kollins11:Is this a joke or an extreme sarcasm? |
“This man doesn’t know that APC has exhausted Lying bundles fa! There is nothing he is going to say that would be taken seriously. ![]()

emmydee:Yes he will definitely score on PlayStation 6 PES 2050 Demo version ![]() |
