Botman poised for summer move

Newcastle might have missed out on top centre-back targets, Lille's Sven Botman and Sevilla's Diego Carlos, but there may be hope for the summer.

Sevilla have already said the offer for Carlos was "respectable" but perhaps the timing in January wasn't right.

Botman has told Dutch TV tonight that he was "ready to make the next step" after "concrete" offers from Newcastle and AC Milan. But after staying with Lille to help them this season, he "hopes to make a nice transfer next summer."

You'd imagine that Newcastle have to stay in the Premier League to be in with a chance of landing the highly-rated Netherlands youth international.

Barcelona have received an offer from an English club for Ousmane Dembele, president Joan Laporta has said.

The French winger has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou before the January transfer window closes, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Chelsea are reported to be plotting a move for the 24-year-old, who has made 11 appearances in all competitions this term.

Colorado Rapids defender Auston Trusty will move to the Premier League with Arsenal in the summer, the MLS side has confirmed.

Trusty, 23, is one of the US top-flight's highest-rated young centre-backs.

Two 'falling' North african teams trying to outdo each other in the act of cheating!

Liverpool Football Club have completed the signing of Luis Diaz from FC Porto, subject to the successful granting of a work permit and international clearance.

The 25-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the Reds after passing a medical and finalising personal terms.

Diaz will arrive on Merseyside once he has completed international duty with Colombia, who face Argentina in a World Cup qualifier in Cordoba on Tuesday evening.

He joins Liverpool after two-and-a-half seasons with FC Porto, where he made 125 appearances and scored 41 goals, and will wear the No.23 shirt.

The forward faced the Reds twice in this season’s Champions League group stage with the Portuguese side and had netted 14 times in 18 league runouts this term.

He had previously represented Barranquilla FC and Junior FC in his homeland before making the switch to Europe in 2019.

To date, Diaz has 31 caps for Colombia, with seven goals for his country.
