Politics / Re: Rochas Has Done It Again As Imo Councils Get N27b For Capital Projects by opokonwa(m): 10:54am On Feb 06, 2012
danielng:

In 2011 when Rochas got APGA ticket, iknew he will win, because i've followed his activities and studied his kind of person since 2003. I am jealous of Imo people for having this kind of man as a governor. Wish he was from Enugu State, tough Sullivan is good.

I indeed envy Imo people for electing such a statesman.

I am from Anambra state, I won't even bother comparing Peter Obi with Rochas.

Their level of passion for their states and leadership speak volumes of how different both Govs are.

These Rochas-initiated developments are on steroids.

The entire South-East and indeed Igboland has never seen anything like this.

Sometimes I wonder who Rochas is competing with ; Himself, Fashola, Oshiomhole or 2015 Presidency

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: El Clasico - Real Madrid Vs Barcelona (1 - 3) On Saturday 10th December 2011 by opokonwa(m): 9:31am On Dec 09, 2011
Thriller, yes!

Tough, yes!

Entertaining, yes!

Real Madrid will be fielding a very improved team from last year. I think Barca has much to fear from this present Real Madrid team. I am only being objective here.
Mourinho sure has blood on his mind while Guardiola has a reputation to protect.
Barca will be playing to maintain their rep as the better team while Real is on a mission not just to defeat but demystify Barca.

I wonder what you all think about the new sense of social networking and communication?
What with Facebook, Apple, Google, Twitter, Amazon leading the pack? Feel we Nigerians are left to lap up what these guys do.
No true Nigerian tech firm. Our generation watches and keep lusting after the creations of these guys.
I've been thinking, how do we get relevant Beyond being consumers?
ANY IDEAS?

@Ken
It's not just you. Maybe we are being lured back b/c the rest of the WWW is getting boring and we're returning to old memories
Maybe we realise life is not just abt push, push, push, . . . we need to take stock
Maybe just curiosity . . . wanting to re-connect.
Maybe by just some sixth sense, we're getting back here

How's Bonny?

:DGlad to see Kuwena has moved on as time heals most wounds.
:DGlad to see most thread alumni have also moved on and made sth (and still making sth) out of their lives

Peeps I must say the real world ain't easy as life has been a roller-coaster of experiences.

I look back wth nostalgia to this thread; I can't even begin to start reading it page by page (i don't have such attention span). besides their are plenty other things begging my attention.

The guys and babe that I have met in the real world are doing ok. Lesson: there is always room in the stratosphere to excel beyond one company or one (or several) disappointments.

Kuwena, I salute you. Make the most out of life.

I think we were all a bit immature and literally inexperienced in life back then compared to now. Looking back, it's an aspect of our lives that will always be our souvenir.

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, go make that money, add value to your life and your environment.

That was why we all went to school in the 1st place wink Cheers! kiss

Kubwa market is deserted. Traders have huriedly locked their shops and fled. If all these occurs on a Monday, what will happen on Friday? when these peeps will come out en masse from their mosques
Politics / Hightened Insecurity In Abuja by opokonwa(m): 1:28pm On Apr 18, 2011
Security reports is that the main market in Wuse is closed down with people repoertedly locking their shops and fleeing for their lives. Parts of Suleija are No-Go areas with angry youths smashing cars. Disgruntled Northern elements have taken it upon themselves to register their dissatisfaction with the impending victory of Goodluck Ebere Jonathan of the PDP over Buhari of the CPC. Please tell your loved ones to stay indoors and out of harm's way.
Education / Re: Which School Is The Best University In Nigeria And Why? by opokonwa(m): 3:58pm On Oct 13, 2010
I wonder why this argument appeals to a lot of you.

Truth is most people will defend and advertise their Alma Mater. I schooled in UNN but I'm not even prepared to defend UNN on the basis of passing through it.

The bottom line for me is what one makes with his/her life with the little exposure one gets in life. That is, whether you were in OAU, UNN, a Polytechnic or even not a graduate, impact your world positively. This is the ultimate measure of progress.

No Nigerian school is even in the world Top 100. So let's stop glorifying mediocrity and warring over local champions.

Once you wanna clean up the system in this country, rather than massive support, you will come under massive attack from the 'powers that be' benefitting from the status quo.
Worse still, majority of Nigerians are not very informed on this issue. All we know is 'some people lost some jobs'. We re-echo the ethnic-religious mistrust between the North and South, Christians and Muslims rather than examining the facts on Ground.

Sanusi is my man for his massive COURAGE.

Clean up the System I say!
