Depends on your definition of mediocre. A friend got married last week. He point blank told me ORE ko si owo. Not all poisonous snakes are venomous and not all venomous snakes are poisonous. And there are some snakes like python that are neither venomous or poisonous, and we also have some that are both poisonous and venomous.

Have you asked yourself why you can eat a venomous cobra and nothing will happen but you can't eat a rat snake as it's poisonous. Venomous snakes needs your veins or blood stream to activate the venom while poisonous snakes just need you to taste them. Just a little hug in your mouth and you're a gonna. Pythons constrict their prey before swallowing, other snakes immobilise the prey with venom.

Not only python constricts. Even rat snake and some other specie. The only place I feel you might be right is that little snake can't have the energy and strength to constrict that agama.
