MackyNaija: From a few applications on which I have progressed past submitting my resume, they reply...
'An internship has ths potential to land one a full-time position post graduation' so they don't see any sense in training someone they cannot absorb after graduation.
This part is true, people still get and some here are rumored to have gotten offers from companies they interned with.
I am still optimistic something will come up for me - I'll keep pushing till I clinch one. What about those your guys in OKC....they could connect you to some temp jobs. How do you wanna regularize your kpali after you grad? |

dabol007: Good day, I am Mr Adebola Alex, from Abuja. I was issued b1/b2 tourist visa on the month of February 14, 2017. so on my way to usa this year january 10 via turkey. when i got to turkey the immigration officers told me that the american embassy in abuja said i should come and see them for further interview. i got back to nigeria from turkey only to discover the date i was given i could not meet up due to my sickness and i wrote to them about it and also requesting for another schedule date and till now they have not responded and i have written so many mails to them no response.
I later discovered some kind of restriction has been put on my visa status (Escalated) with case ID (2018-01-30-010282456). And I don't understand what all these means.
Kindly let me know what to do. Thanks adeoye I think they are wondering why it took you almost a year to travel with a visiting visa when you clearly made it known you were going for visit or business. E get as e be sha |

FrankNetter: The CNA job is the "starter" pack for nigerians that enter USA. I have relatives who had been telling me I was wasting my time at Burger king, only when I got my first CNA job pay check did I understand what they meant. With my first paycheck, I put my car in order. I got new tires $400 with the option of replacing them if anything goes bad (at a place called discount tire co) and a new car battery $150 (At a place called autozone) and I was left with some change, I then handled some bills around the house. Why didnt you check at Walmart...they sell cheaper, install free and also offer road hazard warranty for only 2.50. Discount tires gave me double the price and they were even doing small shakara ontop my money.... |

odigbosky: Bros i have noticed your comments on posts like this. i first noticed you in a thread by that guy that migrated from warri to a Scandinavia country. i really appreciate your work here regarding the advice you gave concerning acquisition of certain skills to enable us survive over there. I have been reading this thread since last year and this is my first comment on it ans bros na question i wn ask abeg find time take answer me.
I have an Elder bro in the US, he is a citizen. The last time we talked about traveling abroad my dad wasted money and it didn't work. My bro told me to apply for a community college, i did. i even took a TOEFL exam and i scored 88 and i had to beg an uncle of mine for statement of account. Bros that was the end, i didn't even apply for visa and my bro didn't even give me any further instructions. Now am in my 3rd year in school and i want to travel abroad after school. The OP mum is a citizen and she filled for him to come over there. My bro is a citizens cant he even send me invitation visa first so i can leave this place before he files for a green card for me...My future in this country isn't clear for now at all. Your bros clearly dont have such plans to bring you over. Which one be say make you aooly for community college?US embassy aint dumb enough to give you visa for such when they kniw you can pay more in a regular university. Just finiah school first and see what d dude has to say. |

MackyNaija: Nope, one works as an Operator (Fracking) - entry level position. Had a little exposure to Nigerian OnG, has a bachelors (naija) and masters (uk) in petroleum engineering. He was simply taken because he indicated his interest to work and had the permit to work (permanent resident).
Second, works as an Engineer (drilling) - somewhat an entry level position though he has naija experience and USA certification in the role he applied to. He has naija bachelors and uk masters in petroleum. These didn't come into play 'much' but bachelors I think is required for an engineer position. Most especially he has a work permit (permanent resident) and looked like someone that truly wants to work.
The pay is like half what it was few years ago but e still plenty. My brother, the truth is that they both had UK certificates which the US guys take as genuine. Its pretty nerve wrecking getting a good OnG job in the US if all you got are African degrees. Its either a bit of European degree or even a certificate course in the US. Lol, everyhody de willing to work na but e get some levels wey those guys de look... |

Some whites guys are just in the habit if being dickheads especially when they drive their big pickup trucks. One dude was on the speed lane heading down slowly and i pulled up behind him waiting for his stupid ass to change lane so i could pass him. Dude refused to move and went parallel to other dude on the slow lane effectively blocking both lanes. This could fetch hima ticket like 250 dollars if catch by the cops but he was lucky that stretch of road is usually devoid of cops. Luckily dude on slow lane moved faster and i quickly switched to slow lane and pass the goat by the right. I looked at him and saw he had stuck his middle finger at me. To beat the fool just de hungry me but i gat to calm as i no want spend new year for jail. Jail no be big deal for them but it is a bit deal for we immigrants as it will spoil your record. |
