i dont think theres any cause for alarm. Those machines hv not be set up to capture and collate data to Inec database so they just ordinary machines which can only be resold and not to be used by persons other than Inec to influence our voters register.but stil, is very sad and unfortunate that the machines were stolen right under the nose of our security operatives in a sensitive place like d airport which is suppose to be one of the most secured place cause of its vulnerability in times of external aggressions. So the theft, as far as am concern, has no effect in our voters registration nay general elections

Tell me whats the difference between Nigerias CBN and U.S. Federal Reserve? In a capitalist economy, a democratic one at that, how come such so-called laws exist in the Nigerian constitution as well as CBN act; that powers are given to the CBN governor to make such a decision? Remove a Bank executive because of non performance or whatever the case might be? There lies your problems right there.
1. Banks are private entities, single but obviously owned and controlled by shareholders (individuals or other entities) whom by power elect the Board of Directors for the bank. Private entities ARE NOT and I repeat, ARE NOT controlled by neither the government nor its entities, however; the government does have regulatory powers over private entities.
2. When private entities such as banks have government interference, its no rocket science, banks would often not operate in full scope of flexibility for the fear that an action taken by the banks directors might be viewed wrongful by the Apex bank which will in turn cause retaliation.

Let the CBN allow the banks play its role in the economic system, if they feel that something is wrong, what they do is launch an internal investigation and review of bank policies, if they wish file complaints with the appropriate financial crime unit of the Nigerian Government. With their powers as well, they can stop all banking activities, issue directives as they wish or whatever actions they choose, but firing an executive appointed by the Board is an overstep of powers.

Boards of Directors as well as Bank Executives need to appeal to the Nigerian Houses to repeal such laws because it does not conform well to a civilized and democratic society and if they have to lobby the Nigerian political leaders, they should. If I were Bank Directors, file a suit challenging such laws; removal of an executive appointed by a board is NOT a regulatory decision.

Elementary economics taught us the different types of ecomonic system where Capitalism,socialism and MIXED ECONOMIC(combination of elements of capitalism and socialism) systems are defined and seperated.
USA is a capitalist economy
NIGERIA is a mixed Economy
Democracy is a system of government not an Economic system so dnt get them mixed up.
That is where the difference you seek lies.

Guys I had my first HIV screening this morning and believe me it was not fun all the way. I got there and after a series of questions bodering on my knowledge of the virus and infection routes, I went in for the screening proper. The dude at the lab kept a straight face. I hoped to make out the result of the test from his face to avail. When he was done he asked to go back to the counsellor for the result.

By then my heart started thumping seriously When the counsellor came in, she had a form with her. She started asking me lots of questions bothering on my sexuality. I answered them all. She then asked me whether I have had transfusion in the last 3 months and i said no. Then she asked is I have night sweats and I became confused cos I sometimes feel hot even when most fellas are freezing up.

Finally she handed me the result and asked me what I could see. Guys believe me I could not see a thing cos my mind was blanked. But somehow I managed to see a line with the words "negative" written on it!

Believe me guys, I had the longest 20mins of my life today!

Hahahahahahaha! You can imagine what these guys do to us in d name of conducting a test for us. I felt just like that my guy.at a time i was not seeing the guy right in front of me and his words were mere echoes in my ears. I believe they are trained to do these things but is not fair at all cos it can cause health complications if u are hypertensive

Are the health workers all trained to make one sweat and scared? There are recent calls from patriots across the country that our senators and other legislators should act on part-time basis and be paid only SITTING ALLOWANCES. This is what was obtainable in early democracies(Greek,Romans) and some states in the USA which is the biggest democracy in the world. It is believed this will keep the unpatriotic,selfish,greedy,corrupt elements away from our polity and bring in patriots who believe in service to their father land and see their job as a clarion call. I strongly concur with this school of thought. What about you?

Some health guys came to my office today to enlighten us on HIV and at the end of d show they asked us to come forward for free test. Nobody agreed to come forward.i volunteered and d guy told me to wait for 5mins for result. All eyes where on me as i waited for d result.after about what seems lik 5years d guy called me out,took me to a corner,sat me down and started asking me strange questions.like when was d last time u did dis test? Hv your fiancee done hers? Do u use public clippers? Does your fiancee fix weavon with public needles? There was dis serious and concern look in his eyes. By this time all my colleagues where looking at us at a distance with anticipation while i was stuttering in response to his numerous questions. Sweat have gathered at my brow and many things where going through my mind. For christ sake wat is dis question about my fiancee and public clippers? We getting married in months! D guy paused and looked at my blood sample and started to explain some stuff to me i was certainly not listening to,blow out his cheek and said you are non-reactive! What does dat nean? He said oh you are negative. Phew! I felt like blowing d guy rite in his face. What was d suspence for in d first place? D guy really made sweat. I smiled sheepishly, tanked him and walked away on quaking feet. Trust my colleagues,they were jst staring at me until i showed dem d report which gave dem d courage to do theirs. It wasnt funny!

Legislators should be a part time job. They should be seated no more than 90 days a year. The more they meet the bigger the damages done to the Nation. Greeks and Romans were part time lawmakers and so are the American large states like Texas and Michigan with California to follow soon.

We need part-time legislators that will be paid only seating allowances. This system is unsustainable and will inevitably lead the military to come back.

I strongly agree with dis school of thoughts. Our legislasture should be a call to duty and a clarion call so should be on part time basis as it were in the times of those that invented and introduce democracy to d world(Romans,Greeks) and some states in d biggest democracy in d world,USA. This will bring in patrotic,intelligent and dedicated human resources who are genuinely concern about the growth and development of the country rather than go there primarily for d bogus salaries and allowances that is demeaning in d face that a civil servant cant get 18k as minimum wages and millions of nigerians go to bed without food,die in govt hospitals without drugs,die in highways cos of bad roads,get robbed,raped and killed even in broad daylight cos of no adequate funding of security operatives.schools on strike,nigerians living under d bridge and shanties,dieing of water borne dieases,no substainable electricity.i can go on and on. A mysterious okada without a rider hit and killed a 2years old boy in Benin. According to the mother of the child and eye witnesses, the okada without a rider came from sapele road end of the city into Ringroad and hit the child that was held by the mum. The okada was seen lying on the ground with a pair of slippers but without the whereabout of the rider of the okada. The incidence drew a mammoth crowd to the scene who came to catch a glimpse of the mysterious okada and the mother of the child.The news was all over the television stations last week wednesday ITV,EBS,NTA Benin. Most persons believe the mysterious happening has something to do with ritual killings especially as the 2011 elections draws near. The okada is with the police and nobody has come forward to lay claim to ownership.The okada has Enugu state registration number and nobody in the busy ringroad in benin city can say he or she saw the rider of the okada. The police PRO who did not believe the okada is without a rider made a press statement that whoever the rider is should come forward or else will be fished out and dealth with.
