I have a Mitsubishi L200 pickup for 5 million last. You'll not get a vehicle with those requirements for your quoted price.

I was considering the accord too but not until I read about the leg issues it normally have. Please is this issue peculiar to all accords?

The issue was addressed from the 8th gen Accord (2008). The 2013 is a very very good car.

All cars mentioned are good but stay away from the Aveo nah bad market on the long run.

Get a civic as first choice, kia Rio then nissan Sentra 3rd

Add Peugeot 406 (Stick shift Ew10 J4 engine).

Boss Gazuzz or anyone please what's your advice regarding Honda accord 2013 or Toyota Camry 2013.. which one to go for?

Based on aesthetics, handling etal, the Accord is the better choice.

However, they don't age well like Camry, not forgetting the CVT.

But I'll personally pick the Accord any time, anyday.

What's your opinion on the 2005 Nissan Xterra and the symbiotic twins 2005 to q009 Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. Do they have the same ac and Engine issues as the Elantra?

Which kia/Hyundai?a see price on the pictures attached
Except you have a Toyota engine in it

Clearly, you are talking about the 2012 and above. What's been discussed here, I believe, is the 2005 to 2009 model years.

Make sure you buy foreign used with good engine and transmission. The engine and transmission is very expensive and could go for over N1.3m

I got an engine for a friend for 280k last December and heard the transmission is about 160k or so.

As stated earlier, he's either incompetent or deceitful (at least for my transaction). I'll not go into details for now.

You can try all the mental gymnastics you want. A Highlander owner in Nigeria will spend a lot less getting his car functional and travel-worthy than an X5 owner would. This is a a fact. So yes, owning a Toyota is cheaper in Nigeria.

This entire discussion is based on what happens in Nigeria. If the average Nigerian Toyota owner isn't buying OE parts, then I can hardly see how prices of OE parts is relevant here.

Gear 1-2 transition time is slow in that car. Notice despite the redlining of that engine it took quite a number of time to get to speeds. That car is like an 8-9seconds 0-100km/h car.

I noticed too. The speed wasn't fast enough compared to the revs.

Buy if you are in Lagos but get only trusted hands like Gazzuzz to maintain it. Elsewhere buy a Volvo XC90, 2007 Honda Pilot/Acura MDX or a 2009 Hyundai Tucson 2.0L (avoid the v6).

From ur pics... Don't u think u are not fair to 504? With it ur collections go complete.

I think the 505 represents the generation of the 504 well.

@buygala, You really should learn to be quiet more, this is cartalk. A man should be known to think and listen more. This behavior of yours is getting annoying.

@Ikenna351 glad to have you back. The 407 coupe has always tickled my fancy but my specs would be an i4 stick shift. Nice job.

davessales039:

All.
They all have different models that fit into that category.

Sorry but you may need to do a little more research. Pick the models you are interested in and we can help you choose.

Eg
For Honda, there's Civic, City, etc.
For Toyota, there's Corolla, Yaris, etc.
For Nissan, there's Sentra, Sunny, etc.
For Mazda,.... Well you get the idea.

Other questions...
1. Are you looking to buy New, Tokunbo or Nigerian used?
2. What model years are you looking at? 2005 to 2010 or something more recent 2013 to 2019?
3....

All these need to be considered when looking towards " low maintenance, cheap parts and fuel conservative".

Don't be in a rush.
Do some research.

Please remove corolla, it's not a cheap car to buy and maintain anymore.

I'm also considering Acura MDX but I read somewhere on Nairaland that it's expensive to maintain.

I haven't really checked out Santa Fe, is it a better option?

Thanks.

Based on your facyors:

Hyundai Ticson or KIA Sportage with the 2.0l i4
2007 - 2011 Honda CRV
Car Talk / Re: Advice On 4 Cylinder SUV To Buy by oride: 9:11am On Mar 08, 2022
Hyundai Tucson
Kia Sportage
Toyota Tav4
Honda CRV
Nissan Rogue
Nissan "Qashqai"
Mitsubishi Outlander
Honda Element (Not SUV but practical)
Ford Escape 4 cylinder
Toyota Highlander 4 cylinder
Volkswagen Tiguan (if you have balls)

I'd however recommend the Acura RDX.
