I know, am saying the M54 in the X5 is NA no turbo, no hanky panky. just plain lovely engine though seems a bit underpowered for all that weight

It's not underpowered. The vehicle is just heavy.

The M54 in the X5 had no turbo, it's plain NA and feels underpowered for the vehicle. There is no big deal in BMW that everyone just dey fear, I did gladly buy 1 if I can afford it. We know some models are a plague to be avoided but definitely not a first gen X5

Never said it was. Please read my submissions again. I mentioned three engines and some were turbo charged (N55).

the X5 of that year is not a piece of crap, it is a really good vehicle.

You are the first person I have read (seen) say this.

funny guy read before you respond. the 3.0L i6 is M54 grin

The N54, N55 and M54 are all in line 6 I believe. Just that some have turbos others have not.

There are people still using extremely old BMW and doing fine. Nothing complex in a X5 that a technician who knows his onions can't fix

I agree. People still drive the 04/05 Range Rover too. Doesn't change the fact that it's terribly unreliable.

And Op, both the X5 and the Range Rover share the same power train. Go figure.
Car Talk / Re: Rough Terrain Roads. by oride: 5:51pm On Oct 03, 2020

An excellent choice though rare to come by and needs a really good technician to handle it, Parts aren't that expensive though.

3.0L V6 may be underpowered but the 4.4L V8 na baba Nla for highway

If he wants to live a long and peaceful life, the V8 should be avoided.
A BMW is a complex car, a 15 year old BMW is just not it.

You guys need to calm down. This back and forth will not help. What is needed is how this issue is amicably resolved.

2003 Nissan Xterra (Avoid 2004 and above).

2006 Honda Pilot/Ridgeline

2005 Toyota Highlander AWD V6

The above will give you good value for your money with the Xterra coming out tops with regards to reliability and cost (purchase in parts and vehicle). It scores low in luxury and fuel consumption, although it has a 3.3L V6 (same with the Highlander) in contrast to the 3.5L V6 of the Pilot.

The Highlander handles best but most expensive of the three to acquire.

The Pilot sits at the middle in everything and though big, is not as bogus as it looks.

P.S. I have used all three, so this opinion is based on my personal experience. This is not a Bible.

Good luck.

Two and half decades ago, I was so keen on building a rocket with a small payload(bomb).

Didnt know much about rocket guidance system so I was toying with the, idea of using combination of. trigonometry and angle of elevation to plot my trajectory and trying to develop an equation that will help solve the distance problem.
For the propulsion fuel, I was thinking of using magnesium and phosphorus ( but pure phosphorus is unstable and very toxic)
The stable one is used in making match stick heads.

Ah! Quite a lofty dream. This is Nigeria....the graveyard of dreams

At least you have a bit of knowledge on some elements and components of what you were trying to achieve. He doesn't. He wants to build a plane by reading up Wikipedia.

I want to talk about BMW 3 series as well as the 5series in comaparism, but focusing more on 3series because that is the type I always see around, now I want to know the the real things about BMW that made it look like a big luxury car, and how good are they in Nigerian roads compare to Japanese cars, are they very reliable as Mercedes benz, are their spare parts readily available in our markets, why do most people avoid BMs and volks even when they are regarded as German machines, I love the 3series but I am scared of getting one because I don't see many of it on our roads,

Benz and BMW score low points on reliability. However, if you have deep pockets, go for them. OEM parts ONLY must be used and these are readily available.

They are not as reliable as most Japanese brands though, but better driving experience.

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking what car to buy and giving your preferences. My main gripe is more with how tangential most of the post is.

Lost me at the paragraph when he started talking about his education. Completely irrelevant and, in my opinion, potentially a sign of an unfocused, wandering mind.

Gazzuzz has been good to me.

He made one very public display of affection/kindness towards me when someone wanted to bring me down on these streets.

He privately offered to do another that I resisted. Someday he will come to appreciate why I said no to the second offer.

But I deeply appreciated both offers.

He really is a wonderful person.

I'm not a big fan of the GT63s, really. I'd much rather have the smaller, more fun AMG GT-C

Agree that Nissan needs to update its lineup. Thankfully, a new Z is coming next year. After 12 years, smh.

I'm still looking to having an affair with the 05 or 06 350z. I hope the over a decade wait will be worth it.

It's absolutely ridiculous, especially since that isn't even the Nismo. A Nismo probably wins the rolling race too. But yeah, we need an R36.

Current-gen AMGs are essentially muscle cars tbh. That GT63s is something else.

No surprises here with the GTR but my eyes and heart are with the AMG.

Also, Nissan seems to be on a downward slope. They have neither improved older models nor introduced newer ones.

No offence sir.

You fail to realise that some naija used re better than toks.

You clearly bought a faulty vehicle simple.

As you mentioned water rushing behind your dash, your gasket made up of two layers has separated and allowed water into your engine block.

If you like change everything and leave the gasket you re just buying time for the katakata that will eventually happen.

I mentioned earlier that the gaskets be replaced but....
