Dude, that is so old school. If you can get past border security, you're now a citizen. I know people in Texas who never went through shit to stay here, not to talk of in Georgia. You just gotta find a black family to get close to, and in due time apply for citizenship.. Your good. Let alone now you got black peeps everywhere, like the immigration could nab you and they got no idea if you're a Puetro Rican, Cuban, Jamaican or whatever.. You just don't have to implicate yourself with that 'Nigerian' identity.
Please explain this more, is there alternative way wine can get green card without arranging fake marriage?

PoliticsWhy Do The Success Of Nigerian Military Make Some Nigerians Sad? by orimahspence(op): 9:02am On Feb 20, 2015
A strong critic of President Jonathan (Spence Adeniyi) wrote:

"Lately, Nigerian military forces are increasingly dislodging and crushing Boko Haram terrorists and regaining control of captured territories and towns. Although this is happening later than we expected, its equally as bad that the progress being by Nigerian troops is being so grossly under-reported. The same local voices screaming for help and protection are suddenly mute, and hesitating to appreciate rescue efforts that have now reached them.

"Were they screaming for help merely to whip up sentiments or they really wanted peace restored? This is what happens when politics mixes with national security. These two should never mix.

"Well done, Nigeria military forces. I celebrate you, today!!! But please bear in mind that fighting terrorism takes much more than a one-time victory. Fighting terrorism is an institutionalized process. We still lack strong regimes and institutions for countering terrorism. This is an area of work I am going to get deeply involved in, sometime in the nearest future.

"I need to write a note...."
------------.
That is what I have been shouting myself hoarse about for long. Because of politics, many of us actually celebrate Boko Haram, pretending to be concerned about the killings. The assumption is that if the Nigerian armed forces triumph over Boko Haram, Jonathan will be popular. So deep in their hearts, many Nigerians pray for Boko Haram to have the upper hand, so that it will make Jonathan unpopular and therefore lose the election. And once they see such, they post it, comment on it, share the links, pictures and videos, pretending to be concerned about Nigeria.

But once the media headlines show that the armed forces have recorded successes against Boko Haram (like today's headlines show), they ignore the news and look for some other negative stories to celebrate. When a post is made on the success of the army, they quip: "Is it not the duty of the army to defend the nation? Why should we clap for them?" Or, "We can no longer believe the army, that is why we are not sure if the news is true." Lame excuses!

2 days ago, thousands in Niger Republic marched against Boko Haram, as seen in the attached picture, but here it is all about politics of PDP vs APC.

I weep for this nation!

PoliticsTribunal Decides Aregbesola, Omisore’s Fate Friday by orimahspence(op): 1:19pm On Feb 04, 2015
The Election Petitions Tribunal hearing matters arising from Osun State governorship election of August 9, 2014 is set to deliver its final judgment on Friday, February 6, 2014.

The Secretary of the Tribunal, Mr. Adamu Aliyu, confirmed the date on the telephone to our correspondent in Osogbo on Wednesday.

He said, “The judgement is coming up on Friday, February 6, 2014″

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, had dragged Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress to the tribunal.

The Chairman of the panel, Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime, had on January 23, during the adoption of written addresses by all parties, adjourned indefinitely for the final judgment.

Omisore, the PDP candidate who came second during the poll with 292,747 votes against Aregbesola’s 394,684 votes prayed the tribunal to sack the incumbent governor and declare him the winner of the election.

Omisore’s counsel, Dr. Alex Izinyon ( SAN), had told the tribunal during the address stage that Aregbesola admitted that he scored 234,971 votes and not the the number of votes credited to him by the INEC in his final address.

Chief Akin Olujinmi ( SAN), who represented the first respondent explained that Aregbesola did not admit that he did not score up to the number of votes credited to him.

He stated that what the table meant was that “assuming with out conceding, the tribunal cancels the result in the disputed units, the first respondent would still have won with the new figure.”

He argued that the petitioner failed to prove his petition.

The counsel referred to the objection of the first respondent to the petition filed at the hearing stage, saying he adopted the two applications filed to challenge the competence of the petition.

Based on this, the first respondent urged the panel to strike out the petition.

The counsel argued that the petitioner dumped the ballot papers used for the election and other electoral materials on the tribunal without demonstrating to the panel how they related to the case.

He further stated that the duplicate copies of form EC8A tendered by the petitioner were inadmissible, adding that those who tendered them were not the makers of the documents.

PoliticsIs Buhari A General Or A Major General? by orimahspence(op): 1:56pm On Dec 27, 2014
Is Buhari a General or a Major General?

Some have asked me this question and I have witnessed some heated argument over this issue.

Only 2 Nigerian military heads of state came into office as Major General and left as Major General.

No 1. Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi (He was Nigeria's first Major General)

No 2. Major General Muhammadu Buhari

Once a Nigerian soldier becomes a head of state, the first thing he does is to get himself made a General. Buhari's deputy/Chief of Staff, Supreme Military Council, Tunde Idiagbon, was promoted from Brigadier to Major General. But for one year and eight months, Buhari was head of state without promoting himself to General.

In Libya, Gaddafi was Colonel all through his four decades in office. In Ghana, Rawlings was Fl Lt all through. In Burkina Faso, Sankara was Major all through.

So by not promoting himself, Buhari showed himself as not being rank crazy like others

PoliticsA Lesson For All Nigerians by orimahspence(op): 10:05am On Nov 07, 2014
A LESSON FOR ALL NIGERIANS

Good day, fellow Nigerians, For some days now, among the flying and flowing around news is that of a city in Adamawa state that was taken over by the Boko Haram terrorist.

Mubi, the biggest commercial town in Adamawa state, was thrown into chaos the day Boko Haram descended on them and the people found themselves running for their lives. The terrorists shot sporadically, killing a lot of people while those who could escape jumped into any available car to run to safety. Christians, Muslims, Igbos, Yorubas, Tivs, Hausas and any tribe or religion, jumped onto any vehicle that was headed outside the town. Soldiers scampered onto trucks with civilians, begging to be saved, hundreds of people who could not get a vehicle ran into the hills. In their frantic effort to stay alive, no one paid attention to anybody's religion or ethnicity before asking them for help or helping them to stay alive. It was a community of people, united by their desire to escape the common enemy that hunted them all without discrimination. Ethnicity and religion vanished, all they were left with was their humanity. Those climbing the hills stayed together, helping one another stay on their feet as they all tried to survive.

The most interesting part of the narrative is that the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Badeh is from the same town of Mubi. It has been reported that few hours before the attack, helicopters flew in and evacuated his family members from the town. The chief of Defence staff by the way, is the most senior military officer in Nigeria and he controls the army, navy and air force. Before that sad day, someone from Mubi would have boasted that the Chief of Defence Staff is from their home town. But on the day that it mattered the most, he evacuated only his family members and abandoned everyone else to their fate. It means he had information of the impending attack and as the most senior military commander, he did not fly into the town to lead his men to battle to defend his community. He quietly saved only his family and left even the soldiers without an inspiring commander to motivate them to engage the terrorists and defend his community.

One lesson all Nigerians must learn from this story is that as a people, all we have is our neighbours. When you need some help at home, you knock on the door of your neighbour. The president, governor, senator or minister is not there to help you. Why then should you continue to fight your neighbour because of a man or woman who cares only about his own family?

Our elites may deceive us about sharing the same religion or ethnicity with us, but time and again, they have proven that they do not care. We have been fools, killing one another on the basis of religion and ethnicity while they stay united across all the divides and plunder our wealth. The time has come for us to rise, educate one another and unite to fight our biggest common enemy. The politicians are our enemies and not the poor struggling men and women in our neighbourhoods.

What now will the people of Mubi boast about as the gain of having their son as the chief of Defence Staff? If you go to Otueke where Jonathan comes from, there are many people who live in excruciating poverty! Same for Tinubu and Saraki , Atiku and Kwankwanso hometowns.

Same for Amaechi and the governors of the failed pdp states of Ebonyi and Abia. There is still a lot of poverty and suffering in the home towns of all our governors, ministers, parliamentarians and former presidents, while they and their families live in scandalous affluence. The minister of petroleum allegedly spent over 10 billion Naira on a private jet. That money can end the poverty of several communities in her state. Stella Oduah bought two cars with 120 million Naira while there are people in her home town who can't afford 500 Naira to feed their family in a day. Sanusi at CBN larvidhrd billions and rven empowered El Rufai with an alleged 5bn consultancy. The time to throw away the sentiments is now! Support only a man or woman who has a just heart and will serve everyone and every community regardless of if they come from there or not. The moment anyone begins to talk to you about religion or ethnicity, reject him summarily! We need leaders who will unite us because our shared humanity is greater than any differences between us. And if someone does something wrong or fails in governance, do not support them simply because they're your own. Nigerians should wise up

Christianity EtcWhat Is Your Pastor Preaching? by orimahspence(op): 10:23pm On Sep 22, 2014
Unless you want to pretend to be ignorant of what is going on in today´s churches in Nigeria and its message to the many gullible followers of most churches of today, you will agree with me that the word of God has become a sort of merchandise for clergymen and peddlers of the word of God. The word of God has been reduced to mere means to the selfish end of smooth talkers and hypnotizers from what it ought to be, which is redirecting lives from the path leading to eternal destruction to the path leading to eternal life.

The very sad truth is people are now being led by the very people they revered and look up to to the very destruction that the good book (bible) talked about. True, the word of God, according to its message is meant to change lives, but the so called life changing message of toady´s celebrity pastors, especially those in Nigeria, is different from what the bible teaches. I know there was a time when the word of God really changed lives in Nigeria, just like it did in the days of Christ on earth, where people after listening to the word of God, in its pure form, will abandon their wicked ways and follow the path of righteousness wholeheartedly. This was because the message as it was in the bible and as it is to this very day, because the word remain the same, was preached to the people as strictly as a message of salvation from spiritual poverty and not salvation from material poverty, this is the reason why the message of today´s men of God, which they are not for it is better to refer to them in the reverse order, as gods of gullible men and women, is not changing lives at all.

When a drunkard goes to church to listen to a pastor´s sermon and at his sober moments reflects on the teachings he got from the pulpit, and there and then begins to retract from the destructive path of a drunkard: that is when we can say the message from the pulpit is a life changing message. But these days it is not so at all. You will see certain cases where a man, despite going to church regularly, will continue with his drunkenness and that is because the only change he hears from the pulpit and the only change he is directed to pursue is the change of that miraculous transformation from his state of material poverty to a state of material prosperity.

Spiritually, the man is further impoverished and materially his life remain the same and his pastor: not helping matters, aggravates his woes by misdirecting him spiritually, and that is worse. Of course, his pastor´s only interest, as I mentioned at the beginning of my article is to sustain and maintain his material interest at the poor man´s expense and that of other naïve worshipers like him. What informed the establishment of his church: a clear edifice for his mercantile agenda, was money. He does this by fleecing worshipers desiring to fulfil their religious obligations. That's the truth, unless we don't want to say it the way it is.

You might be wondering what inspired my apologia on this matter. I was watching a Tv documentary one Sunday morning. It was a Christian program from the popular 700 Club from the United States of America. In that interesting short documentary, a story was told of a young man who was a member of a deadly gang and how the word of God positively impacted his life; redirecting him from the path leading to destruction to a path of righteousness. I strongly believe the young man's life took a dramatic change for good because the message that inspired the change in his life wasn't the kind of polluted messages the flamboyant preachers of the gospel in this country preaches to their gullible listeners.

When a man cease to be a murderer because of the inspired word of God, that is what I am talking about. If a life of violence like the young man's before he turned a new leaf is inspired by materialism and riches acquired by crooked artifice, which is always the the case, how will the polluted message of the material prosperity preachers in this part of the world change a life like that?

Tell me, how will the sermons of a worshiper of Mammon change the lives of drug dealers and hired assassins? If after listening to the sermons of these flashy pastors, people are not changing from their ill-ways to godly-ways, then we will continue to have high amount of morally bankrupt persons pretending to be Christians in the society. A corrupt politician will continue in his wicked ways as long as the church he attends sees nothing wrong in his wicked ways. Why should he bother to stop stealing from public treasury in the first place when his life, according to the message he is receiving from the pulpit of his church, is a living example of his pastor's message?

As it is with the corrupt politician so it is with people in all walks of life. It is all about the prosperity of the wicked. And when it is so, the society in general becomes the worse for it, making it a place where everything and anything goes. Another fundamental truth about the message of the flamboyant preachers of the gospel in this part of the world is that God's holy spirit will surely not work with their kind of message: the reason why their message hardly change or transform a spiritually and morally bankrupt life to a God-fearing life: the same reason why a young lad, despite having a Christian father and mother and attending a university owned by a church, will butcher his biological father because of one incident of minor misunderstanding he had with the old man.

So we don't need to wonder why the proliferation of churches and all kinds of Christian religious centers in the country has done almost nothing to curb the rampant waywardness in the society. It is the same reason ladies go to church in provocative apparels and the church will not frown against their indecent dressing.

At the heart of this same proliferation of churches families with Christian marriages are failing at an alarming rate, even the so called flamboya cool huhnt church leaders are not spared of this disgrace. The failure of the church to guide and instruct its members on this important hymeneal matter is indeed one of the cause of the large repository of social ills that are associated with broken homes,e.g, girl child molestation and related misdoings in our society.

No doubt we are living in the time the scriptures pointed out to be the period when the multiplication of societal ills will be out of hand. However, it will be a big slap on the face of the church, i.e, its fellowship and its leadership, if they continue to make themselves the fulfilment of the prophetic statement from the scriptures.

Let us as adherents of the Christian faith begin to manifest the fruit of the spirit of God even in these last days: drawing admonitions from the letter of saint Paul to the Galatians in Gal. 5:19-26, where he says, 'the works of the flesh are clear,[and] they are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses, worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings, envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith, gentle behaviour, control over desires: against such there is no law, and those who are Christ's have put to death on the cross the flesh with its passions and its evil desires.
If we are living by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us be guided. Let us not be full of self-glory, making one another angry, having envy of one another'. It is clear that the scriptures is self explanatory on this matter of life changing message. The Spirit and the Word effects the change that bring forth the good in us and suppresses the evil in us. It doesn't matter what side of the divide the change occurs in terms of the person's economic status. If a wealthy merchant changes from his old ways of cheating customers via crooked artifice and becomes a honest trader of merchandise without dishonest scales or measures. That means the trader has truly change. This act of repentance is the true manifestation of the work of the spirit of God in that person that abandon his ways of iniquity to follow a path of godliness. This should be the main message of the Christian faith.

When people whether rich or poor stops dishonesty to be honest, that is when we can say the message has become a life changing message. If the message is truly life changing, then the righteousness that saturates the land will exult the nation. The church leaders of today must begin to play down their preachment of materialism and preach the message that will bring people to the path of righteousness. And to do this they must also repent from the unapproved ways they have chosen. The repentance must start with them before their message will have the approval of God through his holy spirit, else, they will be breeding generations of blatant scapegraces pretending to be Christians.
Christianity EtcI Am A Muslim ,i Despise Bokoharam by orimahspence(op): 2:23pm On Sep 20, 2014
I'm a Nigerian,I was born a Muslim and I still remain one, I despise bokoharam terrorists and all that they represent. In fact, despise is not even a strong enough word to convey my true feelings about those who kill innocent people in the name of Islam. I hate them with every fiber of my being.

I'm not going to tell you, "Islam is a religion of peace." Nor will I tell you that Islam is a religion of violence. What I will say is that Islam is a religion that, like Christianity and Judaism, is intended to bring you closer to God. And sadly we have seen people use the name of each of these Abrahamic faiths to wage and justify violence.

The unique problem for Muslims is that our faith is being increasingly defined by the actions of a tiny group of morally bankrupt bokoharam terrorists. Just to be clear: The people who commit violence in the name of Islam are not Muslims, they are murderers. Their true religion is hatred and inhumanity.

The only people terrorists speak for are themselves and the others involved in their despicable plot. They do not represent me, my family or any other Muslim I know. And believe me, I know a lot of Muslims.

We hate these terrorists more than non-Muslims do. How can I say that? Because they harm innocent people in the name of our religion and consequently we suffer a backlash because of their acts. It can be anything from a spike in hate crimes to people viewing Muslims as troublesome imperils because of our faith. We are the ones called to answer for the sins of people we detest.

Since the bokoharam bombings has renewed for some concerns about Muslims, I wanted to candidly answer three questions I have been asked repeatedly over the years:

1. Why do some Muslims commit terrorism?

I'm not a terrorism expert but I will share the view of those I have spoken to in the Muslim community. There can be no doubt that some Muslims wrongly believe that their terrorist act is sanctioned by Islam. But to us their true motivation is not religious, but rather political.

Islam is simply used by terrorists as a way to recruit support. They then engage in terrorism to bring attention to their grievances or to achieve their political agenda, just as other terror groups have done in the past.

The recent statement of the bokoaram terrorist group spokesman ,boasting an unachievable task of completely abohoring western education in the country further makes this very point. That expressly tell us that they have a specific political agenda

2. Why don't Muslims denounce terrorism?

Just to be clear: Nigerian Muslim organizations have unequivocally denounced and condemn bokoharam and their terror attacks. Not just once, but over and over.
http://muslimsagainstterror.com/muslims-of-nigeria-denounce-and-condemn-boko-haram/

They made it clear that The actions of Boko Haram are in clear contradiction of the tenets of Islam.

But that doesn't matter if you haven't heard it. And despite their best efforts to get this message out there, what attracts more media attention: A Muslim denouncing terrorism or footage of an explosion?

Does that mean that we will stop denouncing terrorism? Of course not. But we will have to be more creative in our efforts to attract media coverage to make this point to our fellow Nigerians
3. Why don't Muslims stop blowing stuff up?

I have never blown up anything, except maybe a model toy tank when I was a kid. Nor has any other Muslims I've met in person or even on Facebook. But still we are charged by many with the task of policing a religion of more than a billion people.

Although this may not change some people's perception, statistically Muslims have not been the ones involved in most terror plots in the United States. In fact, since 1995, 88% of the domestic terrorist plots have been by right-wing groups, ecoterrorists and anarchists, according to an analysis by the Center for American Progress. But still, 12% were Muslims.I don't use Nigeria because our country is one with poor record of statistic and non-dependable database,if we have any

Believe me, we wish that number were zero. But here's the brutal truth: Neither law enforcement nor the American Muslim community can stop every radical or criminal who happens to be Muslim. A "lone wolf" can devise his or her evil plan in secret, making detection almost impossible.

It is my hope that in time, Muslims will not be defined to my fellow Nigerians by the handful of terrorists, but by the millions of others who are involved in all aspects of Nigerian life. Well-known Nigerian Muslims range from The Richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Saultan saad Abubakar III, The sultan of Sokoto, The late Arisekola Also, Aare musulumi of yoruba land, to police officers, teachers, judges, Government workers, cab drivers and the millions of Nigerian Muslims in between.

These people, not the terrorists, are the true Muslims.

Dear brothers, fear only Allah.
When you see any one engaging in making bombs or terror activity, tell the police or the constituted authority

Quran says what means- whoever takes an innocent life, it is as if he has killed the entire human kind.
And whoever saves a life, it is like wise as though he has saved the entire human kind.
Quran 5:32 ..whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a person, it is as if he has saved all mankind.
