Currently Hepatitis C does not have vaccine. It is only Hepatitis B that does. For Hepatitis B, you take 3 shots with a later booster dose after 10 years.

I am a Laboratory Scientist by training. Hepatitis B is even more widespread than HIV and fortunately it has vaccine. Peradventure you got infected with Hepatitis B, you will spend more than #500000 to get a cure. That is the bitter truth. Vaccine that cost less than #5000. GET tested today and save yourself a myriads of problems in the future.

Good day everyone out there. Today I will be discussing briefly what makes a particular 'human blood' different from another. What i want to discuss is called ABO blood group system out of over 400 blood group system known. It is one of the two most immunologically important blood group system (the other being Rhesus blood group system).
You probably have learnt that you are of a particular blood group vis-à-vis A+, B+, AB+ O+, A-, B-, AB- and O-.
Before I delve into that, there is something called H gene. The inheritance of it at conception changes a precursor substance present on the red cells to H substance through a transferase enzyme.
Individuals with A blood group has an A gene which produce a transferase enzyme (1,3 N-acetylgalactosaminyl transferase) that convert the H substance into A antigen which is present on the red cell.
Individuals with B blood group has B gene which produce a transferase enzyme (1,3 galactosyl transferase) that convert the H substance into B antigen which is present on the red cell.
Individuals with AB blood group has both A and B genes and thus employ both transferase enzymes mentioned above to convert the H substance into A and B antigen which is present on the red cells.
Individuals with O blood group have an inactive transferase enzyme so that the H antigen remain unchanged on the red cells.
Whether you are Positive or Negative (as in A Positive; A+ etc ) is another blood group classification on its own called Rhesus blood grouping system. It has nothing to do with what I discussed earlier.

SUMMARY: Distinguishing feature that makes one blood group different from another one is as a result of the presence or absence of these so called Antigens on your red cells.
It should be noted that no blood group is superior to another. Everyone is unique on its own. After all, variety is the spice of life.

The only thing I won't subscribe to is for them to still be collecting their salary back home. I observed that the NYSC website has not been updated 24hours after the change in baton of the DG. Anyway, let the NYSC not use this administrative change to further delay the mobilization of potential 2016 Batch A members. Let NYSC ICT department do the needful. I really want to serve my fatherland and get it over with. I also want to congratulate graduates of Chemistry as the new DG is a graduate of chemistry.

The other day, I was having a discussion with a friend of mine about an issue (though I have 'magnified' the issue); and I want somebody in the house to shed more light on it. At what point is Sex a sin?
Me: When is a marriage said to be consummated?


Option 1: When you have done your traditional marriage
Option 2: When you have done your court marriage (which is acknowledged by the government)
Option 3: When you have done your Church marriage.
Given a scenario where 3 intending couples wanted to marry ;
Couple A: Only did Traditional marriage with no intention of doing Court nor Church Wedding
Couple B: Started having Sex after their Traditional marriage but with intention of doing Court or and Church marriage
Couple C: Started having sex after doing at least one form of marriage
Now for those who think they should wait till after their Church marriage; what if the Church marriage comes first before before other forms of marriage, should they still wait before having sex?
