If zoonotic disease are diseases spread from animals to humans, then diseases from humans to animals will be called what? humanootic Lol. |
Medical Laboratory Scientist They say blood is thicker than water but I say even our love's bond more than blood. You are the epitome of beauty that crystallize what love is. Let me Swab you with love enviable to all and thus shoot up your PCV to an admirable height devoid of all pathogenic disorders. |

Me: If you believe NIGERIA does not have money, say Hi; if otherwise say NAY. Verdict : The NAYs' have it |
In my opinion, this is biased. Numerous viruses/disease have been named after an individual, geographical location, event etc. Take for instance Lassa fever( a viral disease) is named after Lassa( a geographical location in Borno state, Nigeria). Are indigenes of the place stigmatized because of this? the answer is NO. I believe WHO is not telling the whole truth. The so called 'stigmatization' will eventually fizzle out into oblivion even if there is any iota of truth in their pronouncement. |
I don't go to a party as an hungry man. Always apply this for any ocassion and your life would never remain the same. |
Thanks for your honesty. Some sellers here would be 'puffing up' the ancestory of their dogs. Even with this mix, the pups turned out beautiful. Thumbs up bro! |

To avoid this. Just think outside the box. Split your payment into multiple folds e.g if you have #600,000; just pay 300k twice. You don't dodge bullet b that. Same as withdrawal |
So it kinda remind me of my own o. Almost 3 years ago. I saw an agent's number and I gave him a call that I needed a room preferably in a flat. I t should be neat and the likes... He described one place for me to go and check at a relatively low price(1st trigger). As I entered the flat, the room was filled with numerous jargons and the ceiling is almost touching my head with the way it bent inward. When I attempted to check the toilet and I knocked my head against the wall as the entrance was low (even for a person of average height like me); that was when I confirmed I should run for my dear life. I did not even call back to give him my assessment. He later called me that I didn't even tell him if I was able to locate the place. I nearly blasted him for making me suffer unnecessary hardship. He said the rent price could be reduced further. |
Hello Nairalanders. Please I wish to go into catfish farming and i am looking for best fingerlings and the right materials to buy at the right price( You know what I mean. Lol!). Plastic ponds or other substitute is what I intend to use (not earthen ponds) I am based in Ibadan. Thanks. |
Jetrue3oo:So tell me in the history of the world, who is that Minister of God that has been able to 'see it all' as you put it. Using Jesus in the analogy is just to drive home my point. I repeat again, no mortal being is ever Omniscience. Take it or leave it. |
Jetrue3oo:You got it totally wrong bro. Oyedepo could not have seen it as he could only see what was shown to him by God. People like you could have said the same thing in Jesus's time when he caused the fig tree. You could have said he should have known that there would not be any fruits hanging on the tree. Only God is OMNISCIENCE. |
You tell me.

Hello to everyone out there. I saw an App named "Tradefi". It claims you can use it to trade in Treasury bills and Bonds. Is there anyone who can verify their authenticity as all my effort to get genuine review has been futile. The App is both on Android and IOS Thanks. |

DAY 2 It has been a busy day for me; am sorry for posting this late. Today we will talk about those who eventually comes out positive. What to do and how to go about it. Caveat: This information should not be used as a Medical advice but for sharing of knowledge. You should in conjunction with your Doctor. As an Hepatitis B Patient, your Doctor will probably recommend some tests that include but not limited to the following : i. E/U/Cr: This stands for Electrolyte, Urea and Creatinine. Majorly it is used to test the `functionality of the kidney'. In other words it is to show whether you don't have Kidney related disease as Hepatitis B drugs can really affect your kidneys in a bad manner if care is not taken. ii) LFT: This stands for `Liver function test`. It contains ALT(Alanine Transaminase) which is majorly significantly raised when d Liver is going extremely bad. Is also raised in Heart related problem but mainly for Liver AST(Aspartate Transaminase) which is mainly raised in Heart diseases and also in Liver problems ALP (Alkaline phosphatase) :Mainly for bone diseases and liver problem BILIRUBIN: Raised in Hemolytic diseases(abnormal Red blood cells breakdown) etc. Some facilities run Albumin test and Total Protein too. Albumin is the major binding Protein in the body. It binds to so many things like drugs. So you must have enough in your body. Total Protein in other words is the protein produced in your body. Why these are important is because the Liver is the production site for Albumin and Total Protein and hence both test the synthetic function of the liver. In other words, LFT = ALT + AST+ BILIRUBIN + ALP ± ALBUMIN ± TOTAL PROTEIN. When all these have been done, you will now be requested to go and do the following too: iii) Hepatitis B Profile: This is like 5 test in 1. It has Hepatitis B surface Antigen, Hepatitis B Antibody, Hepatitis B core Antigen, Hepatis B Envelope Antigen and Hepatitis B core Antibody. All these have their individual functions and the `Hepatitis B Profile` on its own placed the patient in one or more categories which is used to help the patient at arriving at the best method to tackle the disease. For instance, you might be a Chronic Hepatitis B carrier or Acute Hepatitis B etc. iv) Hepatitis B viral load: This test usually involved the use of molecular method like PCR(Polymerase Chain Reaction). It gives the replication time per seconds. In layman terms, this gives the amount of the viral DNA the patient carries in his or her blood. It is relatively expensive to do. |
Good day fellow Naira landers and how is your day going? I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist by training. For the next few days I will delve into Hepatitis B prevention, treatment etc from a Medical Laboratory Scientist view. I will try as much as possible to use layman terms for `a larger audience appreciation` and I will be brief as much as possible. It will be sectioned into days for easier follow up. Thanks. Day 1 Today I will talk about a little history, testing, contraction and vaccine. History : Hepatitis B is caused by a virus, hence it is a viral infection. It affects majorly the liver and can cause the infected person to develop liver cirrhosis (cancer of the liver). The liver is a highly functioning organ that to a large extent tolerate a lot of abuse. The liver can get damaged to as much as 70% before the sufferer noticed that there is something wrong with his or her system. Hence the need to get tested as soon as possible Testing: Whenever you visit a good medical Laboratory and you request for Hepatitis B testing, what they do is to test for the Surface Antigen which is abbreviated as HBsAg(Hepatitis B surface Antigen). If you are positive for Hepatitis B you are said to be HBsAg positive and if otherwise, you are said to be HBsAg Negative. Contraction: You contract Hepatitis B ( shortened as Hep B) majorly from sex and exchange of infected body fluids (blood, breastmilk, semen etc) and also mother to child transmission (during the course of delivery there is usually exchange of bodily fluids in which infected mother can transmit the virus to her baby) Prevention: The number 1 prevention is abstinence from sex. You can also take Hepatitis B vaccine which prevents you from ever contracting it. The vaccine are given in 3 dosages(3 shots) intramuscular on your arm at an intervals of like 8 weeks to about 6 months depending on what is in place at where it is being administered. After your last shot, you are given another shot in 10 years time and this is what is referred to as booster dose. You should note that if for any reason you are positive, Hep B vaccines will not work for you; hence you have to go for treatment. The vaccine works by stimulating your body system to produce what is called `Hepatitis B surface Antibodiesʼ which act as the primary body defender if for any reason you come in contact with the virus. Thanks. |
Lol.
