Mindlog: Ikuchi nwanyi (which many have done away with due to Christianity and westernization) have to involve other members of the family. You having a child with her would mean she will be more of your second wife and you will also have obligations to provide for her and the children and constantly spending time at her place and having sexual relationships with her as she is more or less also your wife because what she is presenting to you is the need to procreate but companionship will also be in the mix.
Ask yourself, should you impregnate her will you not be spending time away from your own wife and go be with her during her pregnancy and birth?
Will it not affect your marriage?
Does it align with the faith you profess?
In summary, traditions evolves and not cast on stone. The most candid advice |

Punchline33: Am in serious shock here. If I were the man I would have simply run away first. But did the wife lie to him? She should have told him the truth from the scanning stage by staying away from the house and breaking the news to him. He would have taken time to accept it before inviting her to return home. Both parties have lost out over something common sense would have solved. I brought a friend's issue similar to this on NL but unfortunately too many kids who are still living in their parents home & all they know is backyard/Bush sex bashed me, I understand what a friend went through when he had 3girls consecutively, lost one only to have a baby boy & his in-laws(MIL&SIL)who came to do "Omugor" used razor blade on d child in his absence (in d name of one Baby Convulsion), How do you want such a man to react after being deceived by his wife again that d expected child is a Baby Boy contrary to test results? Morning all! Been a while I came on board but there's a challenging situation here a friend just disclosed & really tearing his marriage apart, He's actually a lover of one man one wife ideology as well as few kids mostly 3 but I guess his mindset is getting a facelift Got married years back & welcomed a Baby girl, followed by another (but lost her at infancy), then another Girl (she remained) & a boy child followed(My guy was happy it's 2-1, no issues but d baby boy died 3days after, This really left him devastated as he was far away @work only 4 him to be told that d boy developed complications 2days after birth(but d inlaws who were around @home had to go native by putting inscissions all over d boy but unfortunately d boy could not be rescued by d time he returned & rushed him to hospital d following day, what a terrible blow (2 deaths recorded) & he made up his mind to keep off d wife but You all know women antics, She took in again but last night she delivered a baby Girl again after some internal rumblings; took us a while to find out because he has been unusually moody since d news of d 3rd baby girl broke last evening; looking very sad and he broke down saying he can't continue with the marriage again! This stand is quite worrisome especially considering a highly disciplined person he is! What can be done here because I left him last night dumbfounded and I doubt any one would tolerate such without thinking otherwise- Too many girls around? Haba! |

Your dreams weren't killed by Nigeria in anyway. You followed the bandwagon of "i want to enter school". Then the higher instituion took advantage of that by providing lesser options for desperate kids like you seeking admission.
Some of you then will be deceiving yourselves that you will change course once in 200 or 300 level back to the original one. I keep advising people not to be in a hurry accepting anyhow admission just because you want to go to University.
Instead of an engineering aspiring student to take up Physics as course in University for example, I always advise them to follow the route of Polytechnics instead, get the actual engineering course there than to say I must go to UNILAG or UNIBEN and study Fishery abi na Physics education. Christianity Etc › Re: PHOTOS- Founder Of Celica Church Of Christ by OShepherd: 5:45am On May 11, 2019 |
Kunlecelica: I read with great interest the comments passed by some people about the church .I do not want to join issues or respond to the comments but i want to clarify the confusion in Onatisi,Gboliwe and Omo Alata’s mind. I also saw that Delafruita and Enilove had already passed judgment without having first information about the church and its activitiies. It is a case of misconceptions or bad experiences with other white garment churches .One bad experience with a particular church or parish does not mean u will use it to judge the whole church or other churches. Firstly, i want to say the establishment of Celica Church of Christ is not a man-made idea but by the divine order of our Lord Jesus Christ. the founder of the 3 preceding denominations were truly commissioned by our Lord Jesus Christ to liberate the earth from darkness, they were the Anointed Prophets of their generation. They are resting in the bosom of their Lord and are still working in their various churches to this day. That is why there are still signs and wonders when their members call on the God of Orimolade,Babalola and Oshoffa to this this day. To buttress this read Mark 9 vs 1-12,Matt 17 vs 1=13”after 6 days Jesus took Peter, James and John to a high mountain where they were alone. there he was transfigured before them, his clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them and there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. as they were coming down he gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until he was raised from the dead.”Also read Matt 22 vs 23-33 when the Sadducees came to test our Lord Jesus Christ with questions about marriage at the resurrection.”Jesus replied ‘u are in error because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God, at the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage, they will be like angels in heaven but about the resurrection of the dead have you not read what God said to u, i am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. he is not the God of the dead but of the living. Therefore the 3 founders are not dead spiritually but still living and working spiritually in their various denominations. that is why they are able to appear to prophet Adeonigbagbe and gave him the baton to continue the mandate which our Lord Jesus Christ sent them to do in the world. Prophet Adeonigbagbe’s mandate can be found in in Isaiah 60 and 61 quoting chapter 61 vs 1’the spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” To answer Delfriuta and Enilove”Matt 7 vs 1-2 “Do not judge or you too will be judged. for in the same way u judge others, you will be judged and with the same measure you use, it will be measured to you and Psalm 105 vs 15”Do not touch my Anointed ones, do my prophets no harm.“ our Lord Jesus Christ said in Matt 5 vs 17”Do not think i have come to abolish the laws or the prophets; i have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them and look at what our Lord Jesus Christ did in Luke 5 vs 12-14’’ A man with leprosy fell at his feet and said Lord, if u are willing u can make me clean ”Jesus healed him and ordered him ‘go and show yourself to the priest and offer sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing as a testimony to them”. Also about separating the New Testament from the Old Testament, it is wrong becauss the bible will not be complete without the whole 66 books .The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ was predicted from the time of Moses, Isaiah ,Amos ,Ezekiel, Daniel to mention a few. Check Isaiah chapters 7,9,11,42,49,55 for confirmation, our Lord Jesus Christ quoted all he said from the Old Testament. Check Deuteronomy 8 vs 3 and Matthew 4 vs 4, 7, 10. What he simply did was to explain and simplify the Old Testament for us. He sumed up all the 10 commandments into 2: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbour like yourself, Mark 12 vs 29-31. Check if all this quotes are not Deuteronomy chapters 6 vs 1-12, 10 vs 12-22, 11 vs 1-15.Therefore the New Testament is hidden in the Old Testament while the Old Testament is revealed in the New Testament. Also on speaking of tongues in white garment churches the spirit enables us to speak the languages of different Countries (Aramaic,Hebrew,Latin,Arabic) when in spirit without learning it formally. The citizens of these countries will understand what we say. God has also given us the grace to be able to interpret the spiritual languages into English or our native languages. To buttress this, Acts 2 vs 4-6”All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them, staying in Jerusalem were God fearing Jews from every nation under heaven; when they heard this sound they were surprised because each one heard the apostles speaking in his own language” Altars in white garment churches are replicas of what is in heaven, i quote from Hebrew 8 vs 5-6”They serve at a santuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. That is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle; see to it that u make everything according to the pattern shown u on the mountain”. Also let me correct this misconception we (Celica Church of Christ) do not use animal blood for sanctification. Our Lord Jesus Christ has sanctified his altar and his church with his blood however we do sanctify with water and perfume. We must come before the Lord in purity both in mind and physically. It is the spirit of God which lives in the altar. We believe in the trinity thus we pray like this in Celica Church of Christ”to God the Father,to God the son ,to God the Holy Spirit, the God of Adetunji Adeonigbagbe is our Lord Jesus Christ who commissioned him for the spiritual assignment. The secrets of God are revealed to his servants; his prophets: Matt 13 vs 11”Jesus replied to his apostles “the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to u”. Apostle Paul was blind for 3 days when he was persecuting the apostles: he was being shown heaven and the works of our Lord Jesus Christ for the 3 days. Acts 9 vs 1-22”As he neared Damascus suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; he fell to the ground and heard a voice”Saul;,Saul,Why do you persecute me? Who are you, Lord? Saul asked. I am Jesus whom you are persecuting; Saul got up from the ground he could see nothing, for three days he was blind and did not eat or drink anything” Enilove was talking about divisions in Celestial Church of Christ and he was making careless utterances. Do you know what transpired in the church? I don’t know if you were a former member of Celestial or a member of the Christ Apostolic Church and Cherubim and Seraphim Church has divisions in their ranks. You were right in saying there ought to be a successor. The founder of Celestial Church of Christ Rev. S.B.J Oshoffa had said it repeatedly that the Holy Spirit would choose the next pastor. That succession to the seat of the pastor was not by rank or relationship, that the occupier of the seat could be from anywhere within the ranks in the church but papa Oshoffa died in 1985 without anointing or choosing his successor as revealed to him by God. Afterwards the Celestial Church was thrown into crisis where different factions emerged. Before the demise of the founder of the Celestial Church, Pastor Oshoffa, the Lord had continually shown Prophet Adeonigbagbe in a vision, a golden cup which was full of dirt inside and outside. The Lord told him to wash the cup, as he washed the cup, it continually became more dirty then the Lord told him that if he was not allowed to wash the cup, he should ask for a new cup but he declined repeatedly. Adeonigbagbe loved papa Oshoffa and the Celestial Church so much but more importantly he had no ambition to establish a church. It is the lieutenants left behind by the 3 patriarchs that should be asked how they allowed divisions to happen within the church. I believe they did not strictly act on the instructions of the holy spirit(particularly in Celestial Church of Christ). It is not for you to judge anyone or cast aspersions on any church as i earlier said. Romans 14 vs 12”so then each of us will give an account of himself to God” On Judgement day prophet Orimolade will stand and each Baba Aladura,Apostle, leader and worshipper under cherubim and seraphim church will give account of their stewardship whether they followed the tenets and doctrines laid down by Jesus Christ for the founder, Apostle Babalola will stand and each pastor, evangelist, elder and worshipper under Christ Apostolic Church will give account of their stewardship whether they followed the tenets and doctrines laid down by Jesus Christ for the founder, Prophet Oshoffa will stand and each Evangelist, Shepherd, prophet, elder and worshipper under Celestial Church of Christ will give account of their stewardship whether they followed the tenets and doctrines laid down by Jesus Christ for the founder, Prophet Adeonigbagbe will stand and each Bishop, Iriju, Apostle, Prophet, elder and worshipper under Celica Church of Christ will give account of their stewardship whether they followed the tenets and doctrines laid down by Jesus Christ for the founder, Prophet Josiah Akindayomi will stand and Pastor Adeboye, each pastor, elder and worshipper under Redeemed Christian Church of God will give account of their stewardship whether they followed the tenets and doctrines laid down by Jesus Christ for the founder. It will be like that for every church originated from our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you surprised by this revelation? Amos 3:7 whatever the Lord plans to do, he tells his servants the prophets”. OPPOSITION TOWARDS CELICA CHURCH OF CHRIST At the inception of the church several elements raised so much opposition they said at several periods that the church will not last for 3 months,1 year,3 years and 7 years before folding up. Prophet Adeonigbagbe answered with the words of Gamaliel in Acts 5 vs 34-39”For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail; but if it is from God you will not be able to stop them; you will only find yourself fighting against God; however we boldly say we must obey God rather than men” since the establishment of the church is divine. Prophet Adeonigbagbe is also strengthened by the words of our Lord Jesus Christ who called him, from the book of John 16 vs 33”in this world you will have trouble; but take heart ! I have overcome the world! And also from the book of Psalms 62 vs 1-2”My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him; he alone is my rock and salvation; he is my fortress, i will never be shaken”. However in Celica church of Christ we do say we do not need to justify our actions to people because we are led by Holy Spirit. We only need to back up our activities with this biblical reference John 14 vs 26 “the holy spirit will come and help you because the father will send the spirit to take my place. The spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you” and also from John 16 vs 13”but when he,the spirit of truth ,comes he will speak only what he hears and he will tell u what is yet to come. It is the holy spirit that directs us on what we do at all times .That is what we stand on. DIVISIONS IN CHRISTENDOM Many people have negative opinions and misconceptions about white garment churches. .It is not their fault but as a result of some negative actions by some people within the fold. You must understand that even among the Lord’s disciples there was a Judas. There are some Judases among the fold and it cuts across Christendom from orthodox, pentescostal, gospel to spiritual churches. Spiritual churches are more pronounced because we have a uniform, our garments of glory. let us not stain our garments of glory “with palm oil”.It is up to the youths in the spiritual churches, we must begin a massive re-orientation, reformation and revitalization in our various denominations. Let us imbibe the values of the founding fathers, zeal for the Lord, selfless service, love for humanity ,fairness ,tolerance, dedication, obedience to God’s directives, discipline, truthfulness and sincerity, honour and most importantly showing the way of salvation which is our Lord Jesus Christ. The kingdom of Satan causes divisions, fights, disagreement and misunderstanding. That is its work, it is normal therefore that Satan is waging war against Christendom. Christendom should be united against the kingdom of Satan instead we are having differences. Let us not discriminate, our Lord Jesus Christ is the same so no matter which side he shows u. What he only wants is for us to serve him and he wants to draw people to himself that is why he descended different types of churches .If u don’t worship in one, u will worship in another, just serve the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully. John 10 vs. 1-6 “ There are other sheep which belong to me that are not in this sheepfold, I must bring them too: they will listen to my voice and they will become one flock with one shepherd” ( all churches who serve our Lord Jesus Christ truthfully and faithfully). God himself will expose those who are corrupting the good works of great men of God who are truly called, who have not mixed with the occult or polluted their calls. The time is at hand and there will be great surprise across Christendom when secrets are exposed. Hmmmm! The more you live, the more you learn indeed! |

bilms: Islam, IG Wala’s sentence and the indictment of Hajj Commission By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat
“Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by hating it and feeling that it is wrong] – and that is the weakest of faith”
The above hadith by the noble prophet of Allah is a direct instruction to every one of us to always strive to correct the ills in our society in the manner convenient for us and to my understanding; this is what propelled the Human Rights Crusader, Ibrahim Garba Wala to embark on a mission to hold the National Hajj Commission accountable to the numerous corruption allegation leveled against the institution over the years.
On the 16th of April 2019, an Abuja court sentenced Human Rights Activist Ibrahim Garba Wala popularly known as IG Wala to 7years imprisonment and since that fateful day, many opinion articles have flooded the media, both conventional and social.
Some of the op-eds are well thought out, others full of fabrications and some are outrightly sponsored. What is important here is that IG Wala has succeeded in achieving the first phase of his advocacy, which is to focus the searchlight on the National Hajj Commission, a government agency for Muslim pilgrims, alleged to be extorting the Muslim Community.
Before we all get carried away by the paparazzi of joining a popular narrative, let us pause and ask again, what was Wala’s crime? Like many before him, he was said to have uncovered monumental acts of corruption, running into billions of naira in National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM) against the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria and he took action to stop it. Contrary to reports by several media agencies, IG Wala didn’t only go on the social media to accuse the Chairman of NAHCOM, that’s a false narrative. He actually petitioned the relevant agencies, which include but not limited to the Nigerian Senate, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and others and all pieces of evidence at his disposal was presented to these statuary agencies for further investigation. If i am not mistaken, it was a portion, from the petition submitted to these agencies that IG Wala posted on the social media.
For many years now, Nigeria has remained one of the most expensive places on earth to travel to hajj, even though the country is not among the most distant places to Saudi Arabia. Countries that are more distant than Nigeria to Saudi Arabia are said to be paying less and it continued to remain a misery, why Nigeria’s hajj fare is so exorbitant.
After the Nigerian Senate received IG Wala’s petition with all the supporting evidence, they set out to investigate the claims. The Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Accommodation, Logistics and Feeding sent some delegations to Saudi Arabia to verify some of the claims in Wala’s petition and when they returned; they also held series of public hearings in which IG Wala and the Chairman of Hajj Commission were given an opportunity to present their case. Those who witnessed the public hearing gave accounts of what transpired.
Consequently, having properly investigated the matter with both parties presenting what they have, the Senate established the facts and made its report public on 19th October 2018 and in Vanguard Newspaper, the headline screamed ‘’ Senate panel indicts NAHCON in hajj extortion, fee hike probe’’
In the report also carried by several national dailies, it was said that:
The Senate had on July 20, 2017, resolved to conduct the probe following the adoption of a motion moved by Senator Ibrahim Dambaba, titled, ‘Extortion of Monies from Nigerian Pilgrims by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. The report partly read, “The committee has observed that the commission’s procurement processes on the annual hajj operations were marred by many contraventions and infractions as it flagrantly breached the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, the Public Procurement Act 2007, and the Federal Government’s Financial Rule and Regulations in the conduct of its role as mere regulator of hajj operations.
“Similarly, it was also observed that under the normal circumstances, Saudi Arabian authorities recognize two institutions as far as hajj is concerned: the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the (Nigerian) Civil Aviation Authority. The Foreign Affairs Ministry’s recognition was based on the international laws under the Vienna Convention on Consular Matters. The role of hajj commission is limited to national issues.
“However, NAHCON has usurped the responsibilities of these agencies and deals directly with Saudi Arabian authorities without recourse to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In fact, the committee has realized that the Nigerian Consular General in Saudi Arabia has been turned into an employee of NAHCON. This explains why there is a conflict of interest in almost all the offshore transactions engaged by NAHCON.” The committee also accused NAHCON of “over bloated charges,” onshore and offshore, saying, “The charges escalate the cost of pilgrimage,” it said.
NAHCON was further accused of short-changing and extorting Nigerian pilgrims, intending air carriers, and service providers “through spurious charges without regards to the Second Schedule of the Utilities and Charge Commission. The committee added that “ the so-called revenues realized by the commission were not paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund, contrary to Section 80(1) of the 1999 Constitution. “Just as in the same manner, the commission generates its revenues with total disregard to extant Acts, so it expends them without following the provisions of the Constitution. “Similarly, NAHCON often goes on spending spree from the said generated revenue, quite beyond the approval threshold of the Accounting Officer, which is a breach of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s circular with reference number SGF/OP/S.3/XI/894, dated 14th January, 2016.”
The above indictment against NAHCOM wasn’t done by IG Wala, but by the Nigerian Senate through evidence provided by IG Wala and subsequent investigation of the matter.
So, what I am driving at here is that, even if we remove IG Wala from the equation, the corruption allegation against NAHCOM is still very valid and it is only a matter of time before the NAHCOM chairman is prosecuted unless those in charge choose not to.
However, rather than for our Muslim Ummah, whom IG Wala is trying to protect from extortion to see this as something worthy of attention and ask relevant questions, our leaders are looking the other way, as if IG Wala who made the Senate report possible has committed a crime by trying to protect the Muslim Ummah against possible extortion and make hajj more affordable.
One must then ask, where are the so-called Muslim organizations always claiming to be fighting for the interest of Muslims? Have they not seen the Senate indictment on NAHCOM about possible extortion of the Muslim Ummah? What has been their contribution in ensuring everything is corrected?
In all honesty, the judgment against IG Wala wasn’t strange to him. Long before now, Wala had revealed several times that he has been promised jail by hook or by crook and he vows never to back down, even if it means going to that jail. The first time he was sent to jail, he saw it as a learning opportunity and this will not be any different. However, he is certain that the truth, which he stands for will prevail, now or later.
Many had accused IG Wala of turning down out of court settlement, but what is there to settle really?
Will settlement between IG Wala and NAHCOM suddenly bring justice to NAHCOM over the senate indictment or will the settlement make NAHCOM chairman saint?
If you ask me, IG Wala’s case can be equated to that of Yusuf in the Holy Quran. In Suratul Yusuf, Prophet Yusuf prefers prison against the temptation of compromise.
In verse 33 of that chapter, Yusuf said, ‘My Lord! The prison is DEARER to me than that to which they invite me” and like Yusuf, IG Wala refused to negotiate if that negotiation would mean rejecting the truth.
Sometimes last year, a colleague narrated how he came in contact with an individual working in one of the anti-graft agencies and the hajj commission matter came up.
The gentleman narrated what he heard, which according to him was frightening, though cannot be verified.
According to the person he met, IG Wala made the biggest mistake of his life by trying to expose corruption in Hajj Commission. The person, who is not even a Muslim, pointed out that, even in his office, there are several petitions against hajj commission, but he dare not act on them. He said, rather than act, he will rather resign and walk away in peace than incur the wrath of the hajj commission cabals.
Curious to know why it is so, he said as an activist, you can fight corruption in NNPC and succeed, you can even fight corruption in CBN and succeed, but there are places you dare not go to fight corruption and one of such places is hajj commission. According to this information, if you dare do that, you will be dealt with and nobody can save you, not even the president. This revelation shocked many greatly, but the fellow isn’t done. He went on to explain that, when the cabals in hajj commission are ready to deal with anyone, they will get their own police that will arrest you, get their own judge that will sentence you and still get their own prison official that will ensure you are feeling the heat of the prison.
This person asked those close to IG Wala to advise him to settle out of court no matter what.
IG Wala became aware of this information and he laughed it off. He made it clear that he knows the capability of those against him, he knows what they can do, but rather than negotiate with an evil prophet Muhammed asked us to reject, he decided to face the consequences of the truth, knowing fully well that no matter how fast falsehood runs, truth will eventually catch up with it.
Yes, IG Wala maybe arrogant, but his arrogance is usually against corruption and bad governance. He may be proud, but only against injustice and he may be accused of taking activism too personal, but that is because he personally feels the effect of lack of good governance.
Although, for IG Wala, activism is an act of worship to Allah. It is in furtherance to the observation of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammed (S.AW) and he is very convinced that even if he dies in the course of activism for a better society, Allah if not the society, will give him his reward.
Let me therefore conclude by saying that, IG Wala has been sentenced to prison for daring to fight corruption, not for stealing, not for committing any crime, but for observing the Sunnah of prophet Muhammed which says, “Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by hating it and feeling that it is wrong] – and that is the weakest of faith”.
But according to Sheikh Adam Abdullahi Al-Ilori (May Allah continue to be pleased with him), when you are down, (like IG Wala is currently is), nothing worse can ever happen to you than rising up. I believe strongly that like Yusuf in the Quran, IG Wala shall rise again.
#IStandWithIGWala Abdulrazaq O Hamzat http://saharareporters.com/2019/04/21/islam-ig-wala’s-sentence-and-indictment-hajj-commission-abdulrazaq-o-hamzat If 60% of what I read here is true, then am 100% sure IG Wala will rise again. Just a matter of time. #IStandWithIGWala# |

solreb: Do you know that when Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria;
Chief of Army Staff was from SE Chief of Naval Staff was from SE IG of Police was from SE Chief of Defence staff was fron SE Internal Affairs Minister SE External Affairs Minister SE Education Minister South SE Many other key ministries to SE Parliament President SE Unilag VC from SE University of Ibadan VC from SE North resisted same at ABU!
Still there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!!
Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.
Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!
We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets. There is the tendency to think those are truths and facts.
"What follows are documented facts that can be cross checked for authenticity!"
Thou shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
“Prof. Ben Nwabueze was the man who drafted the constitution that took away powers from regions and handed it to the central govt because his brother Aguiyi Ironsi was the head of state then. Today, he is shouting restructuring that he helped to destroy. We won’t forget.”. Let those who have ears
WHAT BIAFRANS WILL NEVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR WOES IN NIGERIA TODAY:
The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausafulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their seeming claim of being in third class citizen status in Nigeria. In their perpetual attempts to play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria nation. The story told in the post above is one of such selective and distorted accounts of history which the average Igbo man is fond of narrating. However, the national archives have the complete and unedited history of Nigeria regarding the political events beginning way back from even before 1914. I will therefore proceed to furnish my readers with the complete story for all to read and be endowed with enough facts so as to judge and act from an informed position.
Shortly after the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates, it started getting clear that the country was bound to fail as the amalgamation in question was done with colonial fiat without the consent and consensus of the different tribes which were over 300. This prompted the political leaders to start asking for de-amalgamation so as to forestall the future danger which the forced amalgamation portended. To that end, Ahmadu Bello, speaking on behalf of the Northern protectorate in 1944 described the amalgamation as "The mistake of 1914 which if allowed to remain will ultimately lead to unstoppable bloodshed and a failed country". Awolowo, speaking on behalf of the Yorubas and Western minorities, described Nigeria as a mere geographical expression not qualified to be called a country let alone a nation. Awolowo added that if the amalgamation could not be reversed, then Nigeria should be structured as a strictly federal state so as to enable each tribe enjoy autonomy this freedom from being dominated by any one single tribe.
But Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the Igbos, denounced Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, terming them ethnic champions. He accused them of nursing a sectional agenda against the unity of Nigeria, and he declared further that the Unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable.
After moving the motion for independece in 1953, Anthony Enahoro proposed that a secession clause should be incorporated into the future constitution of Nigeria so as to give legal backing for any tribe to peacefully exit the forced union if it feels marginalized in future. According to Enahoro, such provision in our constitution would instill in all Nigeria's future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. But Azikiwe, speaking on behalf of Igbos, rose against him in the parliament and labelled him an agent of disunity, and enemy of Nigeria. At a later date, Awolowo too made a case for secession clause, but Azikiwe again resisted him and instigated the colonial authorities to threaten him and Enahoro with charges of treasonable felony if they didn't stop proposing secession clause for the future constitution. While Azikiwe did all these, Igbos cheered and urged him on because they felt the future Nigeria was theirs to dominate and lord it over every other tribe
Before independece, Tafawa Balewa too had in a public speech described Nigeria as a British experiment and Nigeria's unity as a British intention which Nigerians themselves don't believe in. But Azikiwe kicked and demonized him too. Had Azikiwe co-operated with Enahoro, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa about the secession clause, Nigeria perhaps would not have been this misgoverned.
For those in doubt, here is a link of one of the numerous instances in which Nnamdi Azikiwe fought against the secession clause proposal for the future Nigeria constitution.
https://www.thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2017/06/my-opposition-to-secession-zik/
It should be noted that there were many Igbo members of the parliament in which Azikiwe fought against Awolowo's secession clause proposal in the link above, but not a single one of them rose against Azikiwe or condemned him.
Igbos initially never wanted to hear anything like secession in Nigeria because they so much believed, though falsely, that they were the most educated tribe. (The first Nigerian tribe to produce a university graduate is the Binis). As an evidence of Igbo domination agenda hence their initial resistance to the idea of secession; here are some quotes: "From all indications, the god of us Igbos have destined us to rule the whole of Africa"..... Nnamdi Azikiwe (1945).
"It is getting clearer each day that Igbo domination of Nigeria is just a question of time"... Oscar Onyeamma. (1949)
As at 1900, the whole of the present Benue State, Kogi East Senatorial District and some southern parts of Taraba State called Munchi District back then; were all in the Southern Protectorate. Whoever doubts this should consult MacMillan Atlas for secondary schools in Nigeria. With that situation the South had a higher population than the North hence always had an upper hand in any democratic bargain. But as at the early fifties when the regions were being created, common sense dictated clearly that these areas should fall in the future Eastern Region. But against common sense, the colonial masters decided to gerrymander them into the Northern Region. While they did that, Azikiwe who was supposed to be in Enugu fighting against it as the leader of the East, was far away in Ibadan struggling with Awolowo to rule the Western Region and also playing the spoiler role against Awolowo's attempts to have Kwara and present Kogi Yorubas carved into the Western Region from the North which was already too large by landmass.
While he abandoned his burning house and was far away in Ibadan struggling against Awolowo for his own (Awolowo's) region, Igbos saw absolutely nothing wrong with that. Rather they applauded him as a nationalist. A nationalist whose house was burning yet busy chasing rats in a far away land.
When opinions became unanimous that Lord Luggard and his government must be forced out of Nigeria and indeed the whole of Africa, it was still the Igbos that frustrated the attempts. Here is how: In 1948, Anthony Enahoro organized an anti-colonization symposium in Lagos for which Azikiwe and some other Igbos had agreed to deliver the keynote address. But when the D-day came, Azikiwe was nowhere to be found as he deliberately disappeared into thin air for fear of being arrested and dealt with by Lord Luggard. Anthony Enahoro then quickly replaced Azikiwe with another person who did the job improptu but perfectly well as he lambasted and lampooned Lord Luggard and the British Government. However, the British soldiers invaded the symposium venue, arrested the speaker and Enahoro and jailed them for treasonable felony. Ironically, the next day Azikiwe came out of hiding and granted a radio interview in which he accused Enahoro and the other organizers of suffering from youthful exhuberance. On regaining his freedom few weeks later and being told of Azikiwe's radio interview, Enahoro resigned from his post as Editor of Azikiwe's newspaper - The West African Pilot. Then he wrote a book titled "Nnamdi Azikiwe: Sinner of Saint". After launching the book, Enahoro left Azikiwe's party - the NCNC, and moved over to Awolowo's Action Group.
The first military coup in Nigeria was carried out by majority of Igbo army officers. That was the coup that truncated democracy just six years post Independence and led to a succession of coups which put the country on the reverse gear for 33 years. Through that first coup, those Igbo army officers who accused the politicians and government of the day of monumental corruption, killed the political leaders of the Northern, Western and Midwestern Regions but allowed all Igbo political figures to escape by tipping them off prior to the D-Day. In addition to the killing of political figures, they also killed a total of 27 innocent high ranking military officers from every region except their Eastern Region. In the end an Igbo man called Aguiyi Ironsi, who was supposed to have been killed alongside other military officers, ended up becoming the new military ruler of Nigeria. Rather than immediately arrest and punish the coup plotters, he kept them in detention where they were treated as heros. This was actually what sowed the seed for the eventual Biafra War. On the 23rd of February 1966 (i.e. a month and 8 days after the first coup porpularly but wrongly known as Nzeogwu coup, an Ijaw born Army officer called Isaac Adaka Boro who hailed from Kaima town of present Bayelsa State, declared the secession of the Niger Delta Republic in an attempt to free his Ijaw people from the monumental marginalization they had been suffering under Igbos in the old Eastern Region. But Aguiyi Ironsi immediately ordered Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu to arrest him and hand him over to the military high command under him in Lagos. Ojukwu went all out against Isaac Adaka Boro with federal military might and within 12 fighting days killed 150 Isaac Boro's soldiers, arrested him, stripped him naked, and had him driven to Lagos and handed to Ironsi who immediately charged him to court and within two months secured against him a conviction of treasonable felony for which he was sentenced to death by hanging fixed for December that year by the Supreme Court. His 'crime' was that he declared secession of The Niger Delta Republic from Nigeria. Meanwhile the Igbo coupists who shed innocent blood of other tribes and even sprayed bullets into the bellies of the pregnant wives of Ahmadu Bello and Brigadier Shodeinde were not charged to court or arraigned before any military tribunal.
Isaac Adaka Boro was in detention waiting for December to come for him to join his ancestors. But God so kind, a revenge coup happened on July 29 by Northern soldiers and Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Gowon took over and released Isaac Adaka Boro unconditionally, reinstated him into the Army with his previous rank.
Then on May 30, 1967, Ojukwu too declared secession of Biafra Republic from Nigeria and without consulting or apologising to Isaac Boro, drew a Biafra map which included the very areas that made up Isaac Adaka Boro's earlier declared Niger Delta Republic for which he fought against him and killed his soldiers. Seeing such level of arrogance in Ojukwu, Isaac Boro asked Gowon to provide arms for him to crush Biafra by fighting on the Nigerian side in vengeance for Ojukwu's frustration of his own secession declaration 15 months earlier. Isaac Boro, as an Ijaw man conversant with the waterways, led the Nigeria Army through the coastal areas into Igboland to finish off thousands of Ojukwu's soldiers thus leading to the crushing defeat of Biafra. But today, Igbos accuse Ijaws of betraying them in the war. But from the facts as above, who really betrayed the other in all honesty? Be the judge.
Why Gowon fought against Ojukwu's declaration of Biafra was as follows: After Ironsi and Ojukwu successfully crushed Isaac Boro's Niger Delta Republic declaration, Ironsi immediately proceeded to promulgate the Anti-secession Decree which made the mere mention of secession from Nigeria punishable with death by hanging. Ojukwu openly supported and endorsed the decree despite disapproval of it by the general public. So when Ojukwu later declared Biafra secession, he was reminded of the Anti-secession Decree made by him and his brother Ironsi.
Deadly Truth: Igbos frequently reference Aburi Accord to create the impression that the rest Nigerian tribes don't honour agreements. This is a very dishonest narrative from Igbos. First and foremost Aburi Accord was organized by soldiers and unelected civil servants who should not participate in political exercises like making laws due to the civil service anonymity principle. Secondly, those civil servants and military men in attendance were not elected by their federal constituencies to the Aburi summit. In the philosophy of democracy the only universally acceptable way of making laws is through duly elected representatives of the people. But in going to Aburi the peoples' representatives duly elected in the 1965 elections were all sidelined for soldiers to hijack the process. Where on earth do soldiers make laws for the people? Rather, the civilian populace makes laws that guide the military. Aburi Accord therefore had no seal of the people's sovereignty hence it was an illegality which shouldn't have been allowed to stand.
Thirdly, in 1957, Nigerians from all federal constituencies democratically elected representatives whom they sponsored to London, paid their flight tickets and hotel accommodation for the Independence constitutional conference. Those representatives all resolved and agreed on federalism marked by regional autonomy and resource control in the Independence Constitution which they brought back home and everyone accepted it.
In that constitution, Nigerians all agreed that on no account shall the military take over power. It was also clearly stated in it that ammendments to it could be done by only democratically elected representatives.
That constitution was the first ever agreement between all Nigerians. On the day of his inauguration as the Army GoC, Aguiyi Ironsi stood before the whole world and with his own mouth swore to protect and defend that sovereign Independence constitution regardless of the circumstances that may later arise. But just six years after he manufactured an excuse to clinch power against the clear provisions of that constitution we all agreed to, unilaterally began to amend its provisions with his very offensive Decrees, and ended up dismantling the federalism and resource control therein, and ultimately subverted that constitution we all painstakingly sacrificed to draft. That was the height of Irresponsibility and the dishonoring of sacred agreement. That was how Igbos breached the first agreement, all Nigerians, ever all mutually consented to, thus laying the foundation for violation of future agreements.
So Aburi Accord was only treated exactly the same way Igbos treated the Independence constitution agreements.
Obasanjo removed history from the school curriculum hence the reason why many of what we do for a know of the eventualities in Biafra war were altered to suite their narratives.
