Culture / Re: How True Is Money Ritual, Is It Real? by OShepherd: 6:48am On Jan 31, 2022
it's not real! money can be invoked/spiritually conjured using Magic but not the way some people think, it's just a means of blackmailing the fellow involved, (ask why didn't the Ritualist//BabaLawo do such for his children or family members) However, there are combinations of herbs that can prevent Spiritual blockage in one's dealings which in turn paves way for success; anyone who has indulged in occultic money invocation will pay dearly for it here on earth or afterwards because there's no void in creation. I tactically avoid you(even if U r my blood relations) once I discover such in you......shallom!

whether the world likes it or not, the truth though sounds bitter to some denominational fanatics remains that Pa SBJ Oshoffa was truely GOD sent" only if adherents follow the originally laid down "Christianity" which he preached.....
In those years, whatever it was that was seen would be taken or dispelled with spirit of discernment. However, in today's setup, we would rather rely on perceptions and our biblical knowledge. We are very sure, the events that happened and that was recorded in our constitution e.g. Christ's visitation at Makoko, and Mary's appearance at the sea viz a viz the appearance of moon, sun and star at papa's burial, if these events happened today, with modern technology, we would have manipulated the facts therein.
Papa have been appearing to different people in the past, through different media....and unless there is one that is discernly gifted to dispel this, I do think there is need for caution.
If we agree papa is a Saint not because of who he is, but for the mandate he was given and he delivered, anything is possible.
The Catholic knows better in this circumstance, but modern day pentecostalistic ideology will not make us view things spiritually but logically.
This generation sef, I'm sure they'll never believe Christ if he came in this our generation

Autodidact101:
Sorry to say, but Nigerians are too obsessed with this first class of a thing. You go to university in Nigeria, chew, and regurgitate everything you learned back to them. Graduate with a first class on paper but have no practical knowledge of anything. At the end of the day, you're jobless. You shouldn't be jobless with a first class or 2:1. You need to start looking beyond that paper otherwise you'd be stuck forever.
Unfortunately, Life offers more than classroom grades & the saddest part of our education is that those that give lecturers word for word gets 2.1 or firstClass while those who understands the course & life's philosophies end up with 2.2 and they are the ones getting ahead in life (my mindset changed towards rote learning when I discovered this hard truth wayback 2003 when I was about to graduate), I believe more in people than immersing myself in books&grades: dont get me wrong, I love education(infact, You need to see my Library) but I believe more in those I meet along my Academic paths & thats why I find life quite enjoyable & interesting, FirstClass/2.1 is superb but Humanity is the Surest!!! Best of Luck Dear!!!

No. You cannot submit your HND, because based the public service rules you were supposed to inform the agency your intentions to go for further studies to get BSc/HND before they can accept it upon completion of your school programme.

We are in the era of certificate forgery so they won't trust your HND certificate hence you would need to go for another HND or BSc programme. Moreover, this Nigeria, if you know someone who knows someone, they may smuggle your certificate for upgrade or regularization.

k2money:
A Lagos State High Court has sentenced popular prophet and Shepherd-in-charge of Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis Parish, Israel Oladele Ogundipe aka Israel Genesis, to two years imprisonment for defrauding a United Kingdom-based woman, Mrs Olaide Williams-Oni.
Ogundipe, who has been on trial since 2011, was charged with seven counts of obtaining by stealing, inducing delivery of money by false pretences, unlawful conversion of property and forgery.
In her testimony, Williams-Oni had told the court that she met the prophet in 2002 during her visit to Nigeria when she was taken to his church for prayers by her step-sister.
Justice Akinlade, in a judgment that lasted for about four hours, sentenced the defendant, Prophet Oladele, to a year imprisonment on count two and four.
The presiding judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade found the clergyman guilty of two of the seven charges brought against him and dismissed the remaining five over lack of evidence.
Akinlade ordered that he should pay the complainant the sum of N11m, which he illegally obtained from her.
Both sentences are to run concurrently and the defendant is to restitute the complainant the sum of N2.5mi in respect of count two (stealing) and N8.5million in respect of count 4 (unlawful conversion of property not delivered),” the judge said.
Following the judgment, Rotimi Odutola, lead prosecuting counsel for Lagos State, thanked the court for the ruling.
According to the prosecution, Ogundipe committed the offence between August 30, 2002 and 2005.
During that period, he is alleged to have fraudulently obtained N14m and £12,000 in various tranches from the complainant.
Between August 30, 2002 and December 2003 at 32, Bello St Ladipo Estate, Shogunle, Lagos, he allegedly received N2.9m from Williams-Oni to purchase an uncompleted building for her but fraudulently converted the money to his own use.
The prosecution said that between March and December 2003 at Commint Bureau De Change, Broad Street, Lagos, he stole £12,000 from the complainant, which was meant for the purchase of four plots of land for building a mosque.
He is alleged to have stolen N8.5m between October 2002 and March 2003 from Williams-Oni for the purchase of landed properties in Lagos, Odutola revealed.
The prosecution also noted that on diverse days between 2002 and 2003, he had received N2.6m from the complainant by falsely representing to her that he is a man of God and that the money was to be used for his church.

Religion / Re: Fresh Crisis Tears Celestial Church Apart by OShepherd: 12:52am On Aug 19, 2020
hbatagarawa:

The last has definitely not been heard of issues flowing from the hosting of Fuji music star, King Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe Marshal popularly known as K1, at the 2019 Harvest Programme of the Celestial Church of Christ Genesis Global under the leadership of Senior Sheperd-in-Charge, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, on 15th December, where the famous singer performed on the altar for over an hour. Because an attempt to sanction the Senior Sheperd-in-Charge better known as Genesis has apparently kick-started what could turn out to be a domino of problems withing the Celestial Church fold in Nigeria.

According to the feelers reaching this writer from reliable sources, the National Headquarters of the Celestial Church in Imeko, a suburb of Ogun State, after the incident of K1’s performance considered as desecration of the altar, attempted to invite Genesis to come and face disciplinary actions on 2 offences. One being the K1 issue, and the other being an offence of bigger magnitude which concerned some actions of Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku popularly known as Baba Eto in both Celestial Church and Lagos political circles, who also attended the Genesis programme in contention tagged: Harvest of Massive Mercy.

But how exactly did Baba Eto get involved in an infraction worthy of counting against Genesis? This is how: when K1 was about drop the microphone on the day of the harvest to bring his electrifying performance to a close, Baba Eto made a grand entry into the Church which K1 was not initially aware of. But one of his band men rushed to him on the altar on the stroke of the time he was handing over the microphone, and the message that Baba Eto had just stepped in was apparently whispered into his ear. Hence, instead of going ahead to hand over the microphone, K1 stepped back with it to begin a special rendition in honour of Baba Eto who just came in. But that was not really the second offence.

The real offence was two pronged. One was that as against the doctrine in Celestial Church, Baba Eto wore his cap into the Church. It was said that he should have ordinarily taken the cap off before entering the Church as a norm. And as if that was not enough, Baba Eto allegedly went on to commit more grievous offence in the Church. There are reportedly, 2 special chairs above the altar in all Celestial Churches which are reserved for exclusive beings. One is said to be reserved spiritually for Jesus Christ, so no one sits on it no matter who they are. And the other is said to be reserved for late Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, the founder of Celestial Church, and only any of his descendants who has taken over the leadership of Celestial Church who currently is Rev. Pastor Mobiyina Oshoffa, is allowed to sit on it whenever he visits any Celestial Church.

But lo and behold, after K1 had made obeisance to him while still singing his praise, and Genesis had come to prostrate for him before hugging him on the altar, Baba Eto went straight to sit on the chair reserved only for the person leading the Celestial Church worldwide. Abomination! In the doctrine of the Church, that is what it was said to be; abomination. The Headquarters wondered why Genesis did not ask Baba Eto immediately to vacate the seat immediately the anomaly was committed. And Genesis reportedly sent words back to the Headquarters that Baba Eto was too big in the Celestial Church for him to have challenged like that. For, one, he was quoted to have said that Baba Eto too heads a Celestial Church of his and well aware of the sacredness of the chair. So, he must have some reasons best known to him to have sat on it.

And again,Genesis was said to have argued that late Oshoffa’s wife was in the Church as a guest that day too. So, why did she keep quiet instead of raising issues on Baba Eto sitting on the sacred chair. But the Headquarters was said not to be ready to hear any of his excuses sent in words of mouth but for him to show up personally at the Headquarter to answer to the crimes he allegedly engineered against the Celestial Church. But Genesis was said to have responded to them that he would not come because he had not committed any crime whatsoever. So, it was a ding dong affair between Genesis and the Headquarters for days.

Meanwhile, the Church service after the incidents which was held on Sunday, 22nd of December, Genesis reportedly told his congregation that he was withdrawing his Church from the main body of the Celestial Church to stand alone. And he asked those of his members who want to stay with him to stay and those who were willing to go away with the main body to do so by their own volition. And as a result of that said secession, the main body of Celestial Church was said to have instituted a court action against Genesis on the matter. And how that would pan out in the coming days remained to be seen.

But in demonstration of his resolve to secede, members of Genesis were said not to have taken part in general worship by all the Celestial Churches in the country every year which starts few days before Christmas and ends on Christmas day usually referred to as “Imeko”. The battle line has obviously been drawn and the last has apparently not been heard of the matter.

7 REASONS WHY DEGREE HOLDERS ARE POOR?
Writen by

*MALAM MAMUDA KABIR DUTSINMA*
1. I have a very painful truth to dish out to graduates out there: Your degree or certificate is not the cure to poverty; the cure to poverty is your ability to see and seize opportunities. In this Article, the word P.O.O.R means: Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly.

2. Dear Graduates, if somebody offers you an amazing opportunity, but you are not sure you can do it, say yes then learn how to do it later!, never should you say you don’t know. School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their creativity and ability to solve problems. School rewards caution; life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones.

3. Being on top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. The world is filled with poor graduates but rich opportunists! Kevin Ngo once said, “If you don’t make the time to work on creating the life you want, you’re eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want”.

4. Your certificates and degrees are meant to help you garner the experience and expertise needed to fulfill your dreams; they are not your destination! I have watched pitiably many graduates with degrees and certificates languishing in poverty looking for jobs that don’t even exist while people with keen eyes for opportunities reach the pinnacle of success in the most unlikeliest of ways.

5. Do you have a graduate or degree holder around you that is poor? I bet you have as they are everywhere! I have a very painful truth to dish out to graduates out there: Your degree or certificate is not the cure to poverty; the cure to poverty is your ability to see and seize opportunities.

BASICALLY, there are seven (7) reasons why degree holders are poor.

1. THEY DON’T THINK BEYOND THEIR CERTIFICATES

Albert Einstein said, “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” Have you ever heard creativity term “Think outside the box”? One of the major reasons why most graduates are poor is simply because they can’t see and think beyond their certificates.
I have seen engineering students work as bankers. I have seen medical doctors with great skills in web and graphic designs. I have seen lawyers that are very dexterous with finances. The list is endless!

The basic truth of life is that the skills that are needed to be much sought after and become more successful in life are not really found within the walls of the classrooms. Your certificate is just a proof that you are teachable, it does not suggest what you are totally capable of doing. You are full of possibilities when you think beyond your degrees and certificates.

2. THEY PRIORITIZE THEIR CERTIFICATES MORE THAN THEIR GIFTS AND TALENTS

I have often advised some of my colleagues, never to leave their gifts dormant while pursuing and hunting for jobs with their certificates. There must be a complementary balance in the pursuit of your passion and in the search for jobs.

Everybody is gifted for something, but the winning edge comes from our ability to work on our gifts and bless the world with it. The very best way to develop yourself is in the direction of your natural talents and interest. In order to live a fulfilled and impactful life, we need to work harder on our gift than our job. We need to discover our gift, develop it, and sell it. Don’t bury your TALENT with your certificates.

3. THEIR CERTIFICATES PREPARE THEM FOR A WORLD THAT NO LONGER EXIST

It has been found that most of the skills taught in schools are becoming obsolete in the present world. The world has changed a lot, and so are people’s need! It is imperative to know that the present form of university education does not prepare students for the future.

Graduates are becoming endangered species in the face of a changing world. Our archaic methods and approaches of learning are preparing graduates for a world that no longer exist, as we are churning out degree holders every year with certificates that have face value but no intrinsic worth. Most learning institutions are filled up with lecturers and pseudo-educators with lecture notes, methods and approaches that have lost relevance in a changing world.

4. THEY KNOW LESS ABOUT THEMSELVES BUT MORE ABOUT THINGS

Certificates and degrees don’t reveal people to themselves; they at most measure our IQ (Intelligent Quotient). I have often tell people that there is no Recovery without Discovery. A poor man is simply someone that has not discovered himself.

The more you discover yourself, the more you realize the treasures that are hidden deep within you. We carry inside ourselves latent treasures that can only be unveiled through self-discovery.

5. CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES CAN KILL INITIATIVES

Degrees and certificates can close up your minds to ideas while initiatives open it up. If you are not careful, your degrees and certificates can close up your mind. The purpose of education is to keep your mind perpetually opened towards limitless possibilities!

Fred Smith saw an opportunity for overnight delivery of anything anywhere in the USA, and ultra- fast delivery anywhere in the world, FedEx was born. It will be interesting to know that Fred Smith got a grade “C” in a Yale economics class for an idea that the professor belittled as unworkable.
Fred Smith’s company became the first American business to make over ten billion dollars in annual profit. Beginning with just 186 packages delivered the first night, FedEx now delivers in over two hundred countries using over 6,030 aircraft, 46,000 vehicles and 141,000 employees.

6. DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES POSITION YOU TO LOOK FOR JOBS AND NOT FOR OPPORTUNITIES

Our certificates and degrees prepare graduates to look for jobs and not open our eyes to life-changing opportunities. You are not poor because you don’t have a job; you are poor because you are not seeing and seizing opportunities.

Being POOR is simply Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly! What keeps people ahead in life is not their education or degrees, it is simply the opportunity that they seized. Jobs may be scarce but not opportunities.

As long as there is a problem to be solved, there will always be opportunities. It is a waste of our education, exposure, and experiences if after we graduate from school, all we think about is searching for a job. An enlightened and educated mind should be able to see and seize opportunities.

7. CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES PREPARE PEOPLE TO LOOK FOR SECURITY AND NOT TO TAKE RISKS

We must be willing to make mistakes and take breakthrough risks. Taking risks and learning from mistakes help us in knowing what works and what does not! When Thomas Edison was being questioned by a mischievous journalist on how he felt for having failed for 999 times before getting the idea of the light bulb, his response stunned the whole world when he confidently said, “I have not failed 999 times, I have only learned 999 ways of how not to make a light bulb”.

Many graduates and degree holders are becoming progressively poor because the skills required in the modern world to get rich are not taught in schools and institutions. By 2025, we’ll lose over five million jobs to automation. This means that future jobs will look vastly different by the time many people graduate from the university.

Future jobs will involve KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION/CREATION and innovation, and people that are only equipped with skills found in the classroom will definitely be a misfit in an ever-changing world. Skills like critical thinking, creativity, people’s skill, STEM skills (e.g Coding), complex problem-solving skills etc. are central to living a more comprehensive and productive life.

8 THEREFORE, in conclusion, My humble and candid advice to graduates and students in institutions is to think wide, deep and outside the box. Take volunteer jobs, and don’t be afraid to navigate fields that are different from your field of learning. Your future career will require you to pull information from many different fields to come up with creative solutions to future problems.

Start by reading as much as you can about anything and everything that interests you. Once you get to college, consider double majoring or minoring in completely different fields. Trust me, it’ll pay off in the long run.

Don’t limit yourself to the classroom. Do something practical. Take a leadership position. Start a business and fail; that’s a better entrepreneurship. Contest an election and lose. It will teach you something political science will not teach you. Attend a seminar. Read books outside the scope of your course.

Think less of becoming an excellent student, but think more of becoming an excellent person. Don’t make the classroom your world, but make the world your classroom. Step forward and try something extra. Invest in something you believe! Real financial security and freedom is not in your job, but in your passion, gifts, talents, and your ability to see and seize opportunities.

Well said but in as much as Certificates don't make one rich but you meet people who someway would be relevant to your life's journey and who says "Success is all about Money"? Your attitudes with people & preparation would open up or close doors of opportunities that would turn out to "peaceful riches" in Life (that is what education is all about),
Meanwhile, the young at hearts have to be careful with what they absorb hook, line & sinker because some Motivational Speakers are more theoretical especially in our "Naija World"!

Who can proffer a solution for me? I am totally tired! I usually cannot seem to have a goodnight's rest. If I am not in a pool of different species of large snakes, I am always on the run because one is always after me. Fortunately for me, I am never harmed by them.

Dream interpreters and what have you, I need help. I have prayed countlessly but prayers don't seem to be working because the dreams usually resurface. I have suffered from this dilemma since I was 10. I really need help, please.

Someone made a sly comment of either being an "ogbanje" or a snake goddess but I can't still seem to wrap my head around such erroneous suggestion. cool
My Dear, just be prayerful & careful with your dealings; so many deceitful personalities around you! May Almighty GOD guide & guard U!!!

Religion / Re: Holy Names In Celestial Church Of Christ And Their Uses In Psalms by OShepherd: 1:57am On Jun 20, 2020

At first glance through your article, i have some misgivings as to so some of your claims and ill explain

1. Claiming that El Morijah means the "God who protects."

El Morijah means the "God who provides"as revealed in the second verse of a CCC hymn that says

El Morijah ti de lati wa bukun wa
Emi ti sorire baba lo so fun
El Morijah ti de lati wa bukun wa
El Morijah ti wole de.

Another CCC hymn titled El beraca bered Eli says

....El Morijah Oluwa Oba Olupese
Jowo wa pese fun gbogbo aini wa
Ki gbogbo ironu wa le di ayo
Ati ki gbogbo egan wa ledi ogo

This name El Morijah is related to the incident where God provided a ram for Abraham in place of Isaac that was about to be sacrificed in Genesis 22.

2. Claiming Jerimoyama means " the merciful judge"

In 99 per cent of CCC hymns, any strange sounding name is always translated right there within the song itself as a part of the song. God is not the author of confusion. Therefore i can say that

Jerimoyamah is not a name or atttribuite of Jehovah but is the first sentence in CCC hymn 1 that means: The Angels are full of joy in heaven.

Jeremoyama Jeremoyama
Awon angeli kun fayo lorun
Awon Angeli, Awon Angeli
Won forin ayo yin baba lorun

Other examples

Example A.

Hi rah Ja man,
Jah ri bam Hi rah ja man.
Emi mimo
Adaba orun sokale wa.

Example B.

Yago lola mariyanga ri yeh
Yago lola mariyeh.
E foribale fun oba oluwa
Mo foribale fun.

3. Replacing a divine name within a bible passage.

I have never seen in any Celestial Parish where you substitute a divine name in the actual text of a biblical passage with another one of your won choosing.

In CCC, you pronounce designated holy names 3 times before reading certain psalm during services, but not substituite a holy name with another in the text tself like you are suggesting.

Examples from the CCC Order of Service booklet.
Eyiba is for Psalm 51, Jehovah Ramah for Psalm 24,
Eli Yaba for Psalm 20, Jehovah Lass for Psalm 72 and Eli Yah for Psalm 118.

4. Praying to Jimartha.

This name comes up In CCC hymn where Jehovah instructs his prophets to be of good conduct and flee from sinful behaviour so that they can be close to Christ.

In the song a being named Jimartha identifies himself as the bearer of the message being delivered.
This means Jehovah sent Jimartha as messenger to deliver the message to the prophet whom God used to deliver to the church. Most CCC prophets have come to regard Jimartha as the angel assigned by Jehovah to be in charge of prophecy in the CCC . The important thing no matter how powerful and knowledgeable is, an angel cannot be God and cant be worshipped.

Where i am afraid is your recommending that people should go to a dead person's tomb to use Jimartha's name to pray. Any true celestian will seriously frown at that suggestion.

In almost 40 years of being a Celestian. I have never ever heard this anywhere in any parish on any pulpit by any prophet or shepherd.

I dont know where you have gotten your ideas from and I stand to be corrected though. But i want you to take a second look at what you are disseminating and be absolutely sure that you are really following Celestial tenets and doctrines as obtained from the Holy bible which is the final authority in all spiritual matters.
You are very correct Sir! Bless You! Halleluyah oooo
