Davido’s N4.5Million Eye-glasses stolen!

Nigerian superstar, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has lost his recently acquired N4.5Million eye glasses to the hands of the unknown.
Although, he didn’t announce this directly, the exclusive gist was discovered through one of his closest ally, Cubana ChiefPriest, the self acclaimed celebrity barman in an instagram post.

Davido posted a video of him wearing the eye glasses and in the comment session, the celebrity barman cursed the person who stole the glass ‘E no go better for who carry this eye glass’.

Davido’s love for this accessory no doubt know no bounds as he has been seen wearing the glasses all around, in videos, in pictures and in several functions, it’s so sad the music star had to do away with it this way.

Davido doesn’t seem to be bothered about this though as news has it that he just acquired a necklace worth N150Million from ice box. He posted the picture of the necklace yesterday on his instagram page with the face of his son, Ifeanyi on it.
It would be recalled that some weeks back, Davido released an album titled A good time, according to him, the album is dedicated to those who have helped him become who he is in the music industry. He made it known that he has passed through battles of life, both physical and spiritual but he survived.

One of the selling point of the album is the album art, it had pictures of his friends, including the ones who have lost their lives, the likes of Dj Olu, His mother and others.

T B Joshua’s Wise Word on A Marble For Bayelsa Governor Elect

Governor Elect of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, David Lyon paid a courtesy visit to Prophet T.B. Joshua today to show appreciation to Gods goodness upon his life through the ministry of SCOAN.

He is banking on your prayer because the best is yet to come. My brother, I am at your service. When I say I am at his service, I mean I am at his service to see that the expectations of the Bayelsan people are executed.

The prophet’s closing words to the Governor-Elect of Bayelsa were: “I want to leave you with a word of wisdom: It is better to live poorly upon the fruit of God’s goodness than to live plentifully upon the product of our own sin. Breaking! Governor Elect of Bayelsa, David Lyon Visits T.B. Joshua

Governor Elect of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, David Lyon paid a courtesy visit to Prophet T.B. Joshua today to show appreciation to Gods goodness upon his life through the ministry of SCOAN.

Finally, he told the governor elect that he has a word of wisdom for him, “I am at your service. By that I meant I will make sure the expectations of the Bayelsa people is executed.

It would be recalled that David Lyon was declared winner of the just concluded gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

The representative of Ikorodu Federal constituency, Hon Babajimi Benson(MHR) has received an award of the best representative of the year from the association of local government vice chairmen in Nigeria.

The award which was presented to him by the National deputy chairman of the association and the vice- chairman of Ikorodu Local government, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba was earlier announced during the annual award/gala night of the association held at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja on Wednesday, 6th of November, 2019.

2019 is gradually coming to an end but one will never forget the experiences of the year anytime soon. Especially in the Nigerian music industry, it’s been a hell of a journey, we had so many new artiste who just got noticed this year. Infact, most of the songs we enjoyed well this year came from most of the newbies in the Nigerian music industry.

Although, we also had bangers and hit songs from already made artistes, we had jams from Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, to mention a few, those are names people have known over the years but the motive of this publication is to celebrate some of the most successful new artistes In 2019, some of who were successful than those we refer to as A-List celebrities.
Some of them include:

Zlatan Ibile : Zlatan Ibile is one of those artistes who have made Nigerians to fall in love with the hip-hop industry in 2019. He started the year on a very good note with a release with Burna Boy titled Killing Dem. His verse on the songs made the release go really far beyond the expectation of fans. Ever since then, Zlatan Ibile has almost risen to the level of the king of Dance hall in Nigeria for this year.
He was also said to be one of the most featured artist in 2019. After his song with Burna Boy, he released songs with Davido, Tiwa Savage, Naira Marley, DJ Cuppy, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun and other big names in the industry.
For his singles, he released Bolanle, Yeye Boyfriend, Wake Up, to mention a few. No doubt, Zlatan Ibile, as far as this year is concerned, is bigger than some A-List artiste judging by the songs he released, how they became an instant hit, the dance step he released, the like of Zanku, Gbe Body, Gbeku, and the kind of big names he worked with in 2019.

Fireboy DML: Signed under Olamide’s YBNL, Fireboy DML has proven to the music industry that he isn’t just another artiste, but one with a unique sound capable of keeping him on top of his game, winning every competition that comes his way.

Fireboy DML started getting the recognition he deserves in 2019 after releasing ‘Jealous’ earlier this year. ‘Jealous’ didn’t get registered in the heart of fans because it’s a love song alone but it’s lyrical prowess and brilliant concept made it stay in the heart of fans.
Fireboy is one of those artiste that can categorically say he has no competition in the industry at the moment because his style is unique and almost nobody does his kind of music in the country at the moment.

Rema : Signed to Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, Rema can be seen as the future of the Nigerian music industry. He is quite young and has so many potentials that is being released gradually.
Rema, the self acclaimed Bad Commando is a king of freestyle, king of brilliant lyrics and a father of flows. The ways his songs are being arranged is one of a kind. He kicked off his career with the release of Dumebi and boom! He was shot to stardom. His voice is unique, he doesn’t sound like a Nigerian and most people refer to him as the next wizkid, 2face, Peruzzi of the hip-hop music industry.
Some time this year, it was discovered that one of his songs titled Iron Man was on former president of USA, Barrack Obama and his wife’s annual summer playlist, a height no artiste in Nigeria has attained before.

It was indeed a glorious time to reap the rewards of philanthropic gestures and humanitarian honor as The United Nations honoured top Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele with its ‘Eminent Ambassador of Peace’ award.



In a ceremony held at Ayodele’s INRI church in Lagos on Sunday, 24th of November 2019, the UN, duly represented by Ambassador Chinedu Anthony, presented the award to the cleric ‘for his relentless contributions to the society and global humanitarian services and, above all, for being a man of peace.

According to Ambassador Chinedu Anthony, Eminent Peace Ambassador Award was bestowed on primate Ayodele Elijah because they have heard about his philanthropic gestures for so long and have also come to verify if this man of God deserved it.

He noted that when he was recommended for United Nations, they took their time to research if truly he peaches peace and unity in Nigeria.

He however said a lot of benefits are attached to this award to mention but few he will be preaching peace to the world among other prominent pastors, prophet, popes anytime the United Nations are called upon to give speech on peace about religion.

The event which also served as the 2019 harvest of the church also witnessed donations for the widows, orphans and the sick.

Ambassador Primate Ayodele in his words said to Yoruba nation will arise during the time of Ooni of ife. "Oduduwa republic will come to stay". he prophesied.


While expressing happiness on the presentation of the award, primate Ayodele noted this is another challenge for him to do more and contribute to the growth of the nation, he said, "if i am spending 1thousand naira for the needy, it has to be increased to 5 thousand naira now. I pray God should give me strength to to carry out this task" Ayodele added.

‘You have been 27years for three years’ – Chioma, Peruzzi exposes Davido’s lies on his Birthday

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is a year older today and according to him, he is 27 years old today but it seems his colleagues and fiancée is not having any of it as they stylishly accused him of lying about his age.

In an instagram post on Peruzzi’s page, he wished the father of three happy birthday and stated that only God knows his real age.
Under the comment session, Chioma, who is Davido’s fiancée jokingly said He has been 27 for three years and might claim to be 26 by next year.

…Suffers Major Setback In Core Banking Operations At The End Of 3rd Quarter In 2019 As Earnings Per Share Dropped

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) presently is facing a major setback experts revealed to this publication
He said, it is necessary to enlighten the publics, shareholders, investors and customers of the bank for them to know the status of the financial institution.
Reason for this is that Ecobank in its core banking operations recorded low which whittled down its finances in the third quarter ended September 30, 2019.
Which means shareholders of the bank are the biggest losers as earnings per share (EPS) dropped and share price staggers.
However, the bank defies Central Bank of Nigeria directives on granting 65 percent of depositors money as loans to real sector.
The financial analyst said, this was as a result of the bank’s inability to attract new deposits.
ETI recorded a 3 percent drop on deposits in the third quarter of this year as against its performance for same period 2018.
As of September 30, 2019 deposits from customers dropped to N5.63trillion from N5.80trillion in the preceding third quarter.
In the same vein, loans and advances portfolio declined 6 percent as the bank decided to cut down on advancing credit to its customers contrary to the directive of the central bank that deposit money banks should increase lending to small and medium enterprises and individuals to accelerate economic growth.
The bank’s loans and advances to customers compared to its deposits base stood at about 56 per cent as at September 30, 2019. It dropped from N3.34trillion in September 2018 to N3.15trillion as of nine months ended September 30, 2019. The figure fell below the CBN’s mandatory cap of 65 percent.
Although Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) grew its third quarter earnings by 7 percent with net profit up 4 percent, the marginal growth did not come as a result of its core banking services as net interest income dipped 9 percent while non-interest income only grew 12 percent which means the bank fell short of key performing parameters for deposit money banks in the review period with deposits from customers dropping by 3 percent while loans and advances to customers declined by 6 percent.
Also total assets dropped by 0.6 percent while total equity remained unchanged in the review period. Also, earnings per share (EPS) dropped by 8 percent.
According to the financial expert, he highlighted that Ecobank Gross earnings recorded a marginal growth of 7 per cent from about N573billion in third quarter ended September 30, 2018 to about N611billion in the same period in 2019.
The ability of the bank to generate revenue improved by 1 per cent as revenue increased from N419billion in Q3, 2018 to N423billion as of September 30, 2019. Operating profit before impairment losses recorded a drop to the tune of 13 percent from N163billion in Q3, 2018 to N142billion in the same period in 2019.
Before tax deduction, profit increased by 14 percent from N96billion as of September, 2018 to N109billion as at September 30, 2019 while profit for the period (net profit) increased by 4 per cent at N78.8billion compared with N75.8billion recorded in the same period in 2018.
However, the bank’s balance sheet recorded a dismal performance as assets portfolio sheds weight by 0.6 percent from N8.22trillion in September 2018 to N8.17trillion as of September 30, 2019. Total equity remained almost fixed at N660.22billion from N660.07billion in September, 2018.

The bank could not grow its deposits portfolio in the review as year-on-year performance recorded a 3% drop.

Meanwhile, expert revealed that Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, said he wanted to ramp up the growth of the Nigerian economy and his strategy is to bring about that desired growth for the economy through deliberate investment in the real sector which is the growth engine of the economy.
In a letter tagged: “Regulatory Measures to Improve Lending to the Real Sector of the Nigerian Economy,” he mandated all commercial banks operating in the country to make cash available for businesses to increase their capacities and to be able to create more jobs.

Emefiele through the Director of Banking Supervision, Mr. Ahmad Abdullahi, instructed banks to make available as loan to the real sector, at least 60 per cent of the cash, which they collect from depositors effective from September 30, 2019. The requirement has since been reviewed to 65 per cent with a December 31 deadline.
“All DMBs are hereby required to maintain a minimum Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) of 60 per cent by September 30, 2019. This ratio shall be subject to quarterly review,” the letter stated.
For the purpose of implementation and to be able to track compliance, the CBN said it shall provide a framework for classification of enterprises/businesses that fall under these categories.
The apex had warned that failure to meet the prescribed minimum LDR by the specified date shall result in a levy of additional cash reserve requirement equals to 50 per cent of the lending shortfall of the target LDR.
The CBN said it shall continue to review development in the market with a view to facilitating greater investment in the real sector of the Nigerian economy.
Earnings per share from continuing operations attributable to owners of the parent during the period (expressed in kobo per share) stood at about 227.4kobo, dropping 8 percent from 246kobo in the same period the preceding year.
A breakdown of the bank’s earnings portfolio showed that income from core banking operations in the review nine months period dropped by 9 per cent as net interest income stood at N196billion compared to N215billion recorded in the preceding nine months period.
Interest expense, which increased by 27 per cent YoY made a mockery of the 5 per cent increase in interest income as at end of September 2019. Interest expense rose to N177billion in 2019 from N139billion in 2018 while interest income moved up from N354billion in 2018 to N373billion in 2019.
Non-interest revenue on the other hand gained 12 per cent with fee and commission income and net trading income being biggest contributors. Meanwhile, fee and commission expenses which declined by 34 percent, from (N14.86billion) in September 2018 to (N9.8billion) as at September 30, 2019, boosted non-interest revenue which stood at N227billion in 2019 compared to N203billion amassed in September 2018.
It’s obvious that the management of ETI must device means to reduce cost, if the bank must move up on the ladder of profitability and be able to compete effectively in its industry. Whilst operating income grew only by 1 per cent as of September 30, 2019, operating expenses moved up 10 per cent.
The condensed unaudited consolidated statement of comprehensive income of the bank presented to the Nigerian Stock Exchange for the financial period ended September 30, 2019 showed that operating expenses grew by 1 percent to N423billion from N419billion in the same period in 2018 while operating expenses jumped 10 per cent from N256billion in September 2018 to about N281billion in the same period in 2019.
Apparently, a growth strategy to grow its deposits portfolio must be adopted. In vein of this, Ecobank has made some moves in recent times. The Pan- African Bank with a presence in 33 African countries including Nigeria, entered into a partnership with Airtel Money, which will allow millions of Airtel Money and Ecobank customers across Africa gain access to mobile financial services using the Ecobank digital financial services ecosystem.
Customers will be able to make mobile deposits and withdrawals, effect real time domestic and international money transfers, make in-store merchant payments, and access loans and savings products among others.
The bank also said it had removed all charges from USSD transactions for its customers.
The Ecobank group in August 2019 appointed a new consumer banking head as well as chief financial controller to drive deposit and manage its finance.
Group Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Ade Ayeyemi, revealed that “The bank will continue to focus on its strategic priorities. Whilst noting the revenue headwinds, most of our regions delivered solid profit growth, with total Group profit before tax of $303 million, demonstrating the resilience of our pan-African business strategy.
We continued with the modernisation of our core banking application having now covered about 80 per cent of total Group transactions and 22 out of our 34 countries within a period of less than a year, with full completion by mid-November 2019.”
“Our unwavering commitment to ensuring best-in-class digital product offerings remains key. Our Ecobank Pay Zones are increasing across our network, providing SMEs and households with easy and secure digital payment solutions.
Additionally, we are growing our agency banking network making banking services available to more previously un-banked Africans.

Sometime ago in the Nigerian music industry, Highlife musician, Flavour and MTN Project Fame winner, Chidinma were seen as prospective couple due to their intimacy, the kind of relationship they have built beyond mere musicians, they released songs together and were seen kissing on several occasions.

When asked then, both of them would deny or rather not talk about it till the rumour faded out after which their intimacy was reduced on the social media scene, although nobody knew what was going on behind the scene.

However, it seems the rumour is about to become reality as the intimacy which everyone used to see has come back with full force.
Days ago, Chidinma and Flavour posted a picture on their instagram pages with the heart symbol of love as their caption. The picture had the setting of a traditional wedding between both of them. Lots of fans and celebrity friends commented on the picture and some were seen asking them to make the date of their wedding known.

Furthermore, while some were asleep, in the early hours of today, both of them posted something that looked like an album art, and a wedding flier with the inscription ’40 YEARS EVERLASTING’ on it. They both captioned the post ‘Our gift to you’.

Although, further diggings revealed that it’s a joint EP they both worked on as it will be released on the 18th of November, 2019 but some things about it look fishy. Even the tracks on it have everything related to love.
In as much as we want to believe this is just a music project, there are so many things attached to it that is raising eyebrows. It’s not a bad idea if both get married, they have been married in the minds of some fans already(lol).

There was wild jubilation in South Sudan as President Salva Kiir Mayardit received T B Joshua in his Private Jet around 3pm today at the international airport, J1,Southern Sudan. We reliably gathered that the popular televangelist, Prophet T.B. Joshua visited the country today to offer special prayers for peace on the exclusive invitation of the president. Information available to us revealed that Kiir sent a high-level delegation headed by Vice President Wani Igga to Nigeria to deliver an invitation to the prophet offering him an advisory role in the government.

His visit was not unconnected to his role in South Sudan for his alleged prophecy of a failed coup attempt against President Salva Kiir before the conflict erupted in 2013. Upon arrival, he was received amidst pomp and pageantry by the president and entire cabinet and he was driven to the presidential palace in Juba.
Reacting to the grand reception given him, T.B Joshua admitted that his purpose was for peace in the country.

He affirmed, “Thank you very much for welcoming me. He who honours a prophet because he is a prophet receives the reward of a prophet. Thank you for honouring me. I am here to deliver God’s message. I pray that God gives all the political stakeholders in this country discretion that will guard their hearts to obey this message, in Jesus’ name. As a prophet, I need to be specific - that is, I should not say what God has not said. Yes, this is the voice of God. Time has come. Seven times, I have been invited to this country – but each time I received an invitation, I would ask God and the Lord would say, ‘No’. But this time, the Lord said, ‘Yes!’.

Time has come for us to put our differences behind us. Who can fight with the Lord? Time has come for us to put our differences behind us in this youngest nation in the world. If I am a prophet, this will not go without fulfillment. Take your pen and write. I am here to prophesy to the nation. I am not coming here to preach or to teach. If I am a prophet, this will not go without fulfillment. Time has come. The issue of this nation is spiritual. We need to tackle it spiritually.

Time has come - I repeat - for us to put our differences behind us. Our leaders, we should overcome our divisions and agree to work together – for the good of this country. Peace has no price. To show peace has no price, when I was preparing to come to South Sudan, my operator could not find an international insurance company to cover our trip to South Sudan – because of the situation of the nation. The operator recommended that the plane should be parked in Ethiopia or Kenya. I said why? They said because of the situation of the nation.

And this is a country endowed with enormous natural resources. How many investors or tourists would want to go through this?
We cannot do it alone. As I travelled the world, I have discovered that people from South Sudan are everywhere all over the world. There is no country in this world where you will not find South Sudanese. They are intelligent, hard-working, ambitious people. Our leaders should overcome their divisions and allow them to come back to develop their fatherland.

We should overcome our divisions. You cannot stand in the way of the Lord. He owns man’s heart and He can instruct man at any time. Don’t look at my appearance. Don’t look at the clothes I put on; I had to wear something. Look beyond this appearance. Beyond this appearance is the man talking. Next month, we talk of December and then the New Year. This country is going to enter a New Year, a new beginning - whether you like it or not, whether I like it or not. Your agreement does not matter to what God is about to do. So, after this meeting – take your time and look at my antecedents, my track record in the ministry when it comes to the prophetic. Please, take this word seriously. As a prophet, I am not an orator. I need corresponding power to talk. I need the suggestion of the Spirit to talk.

Let us pray as the Spirit directs. Lord, I pray for the peace of South Sudan. Have mercy on the nation! Have mercy on the nation! Let the leaders and citizens of South Sudan obtain Your mercy. Let the leaders and citizens of South Sudan obtain Your mercy. Thank You, Lord, for Your compassion and for Your forgiveness. In Jesus Christ’s name.

This is the message and prayer I am sent to deliver. It may look short – but it’s pregnant. Let us await the result. If God says yes, no one can say no! I pray the hearts of those concerned are controlled by God because the Word of God cannot go without fulfillment. I repeat again – time has come for us to overcome our divisions, for us to put aside our differences. There is no more time for you or us again; God wants to move the nation forward. Long live this peace initiative! Long live the youngest nation in the world, South Sudan!

Popular televangelist Prophet TB Joshua is expected to visit South Sudan tomorrow, the presidency said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Presidential spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny confirmed that the self-proclaimed prophet would hold prayers at the presidential palace and preparations are on top gear.

“Yes, he is coming tomorrow to hold prayers for peace. He is coming to pray for the leaders at J1,” Ateny said.
Temitope Balogun Joshua also known as T. B. Joshua is a Nigerian pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist. He founded The Synagogue, Church of All Nations, and owns the Christian television network Emmanuel TV.

TB Joshua gained prominence in South Sudan for his alleged prophecy of a failed coup attempt against President Salva Kiir before the conflict erupted in 2013.

One news that shook the world of late is the stepping down of Saad Hariri as the prime minister of Lebanon after nationwide protests of citizens for close to two weeks.

This further confirms Primate Elijah Ayodele as the most accurate Prophet in Africa currently, looking at the kind of prophecies he gives and the way they come to pass.

As the saying goes, to be forewarned is to be forearmed, it is necessary for one to heed to warnings and advice whenever it comes before embarking on a course, else, one would have stories that touch the heart at the end of the day, this is the case of PDP and it’s Presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar who went ahead to drag APC and it’s candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari due to the outcome of the 2019 general election that saw the latter victorious.

One of the voices God sent to Atiku was that of Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual church who warned Atiku to step down from the course to reclaim his mandate, else, he will lose blatantly up to the Supreme Court.

He has been sounding this warning for months and last talked about it during the launch of his annual book of prophecy on August 17, he revealed that PDP and Atiku will lose if he doesn’t step down from it.

‘’Atiku should step down, the money he is spending on hiring lawyers should be used to the needy because it is a waste, he can still pursue his course but he will not win even at the tribunal to the supreme court’’

One of the cardinal objectives and policy thrust of President Buhari Administration is the fight against corruption; however, this is not the case of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos State, Dr. Oluwayemi Cecilia Ogun who was alleged to have refused to vacate her office as the CMD despite clocking the mandatory retirement age of 60years since September 23, 2019.

This contravenes and is in deviance to the Public Service Rules (PSR) 0202810 of Chapter two (2) in relations to retirement, which states,

“The Compulsory retirement age for all grades in the service shall be 60 years or 35 years of Pensionable service whichever is earlier, and no officer shall be allowed to remain in service after attaining the retirement age of 60 years”.

Our investigation as confirmed by very credible sources who sought anonymity, revealed that the process for the appointment of a Medical Director of the Neuropsychiatric hospital Yaba in 2017, was skewed to favour the appointment of Dr. Ogun, owing to her affinity with the immediate past minister of health Dr Isaac Adewole, who disregarded the rules as advertised which prescribed the eligibility criteria of not being above the age of Fifty Five Years (55) as at the time of applying for the position of Medical Director as opposed to the regular standard obtainable for the appointment of medical directors across board for other Federal Medical Institutions in Nigeria.

From information gathered, her appointment specifically violated the 6th requirement for the position as advertised at the time that “candidate must not be more than fifty five (55) years of age, as Dr. Ogun was already 58 years old when she was appointed ( find attached Publication and nominal Roll)

Notwithstanding the curious circumstance of her now elapsed appointment, The investigators also gathered that the CMD who clocked 60 on 23rd September, has refused to proceed on terminal leave, as required by law and has now resorted to lobbying high level officers of the Ministry of Health, to extend her tenure, by referring to an already suspended circular by Mr. President on tenureship which is an affront to the anti-corruption agenda of the Federal Government.

It has also generated bad blood amongst her colleagues who are of the view that the intent to elongate her elapsed tenure is vile considering the manner she vigorously fought her predecessor who allegedly attempted to extend tenure illegally.

However a petition has been written against her by the JOINT HEALTH SECTOR UNION for gross abuse of office and corruption.

In the petition sighted by our Investigators, dated 15th of February 2019, she was accused by staff members amongst others of outsourcing the account department without going through the necessary procedures, which is strongly against the Financial regulation of the establishment.

It was gathered that she was also once invited by police force headquarters CID Alagbon, Lagos to answer for allegations of corruption and abuse of office.

It was also noted that in 2018, she singlehandedly bought a vehicle worth N40million with funds meant for another purpose despite having two functional official vehicles.

our source also hinted us that she bought a personal 2019 model Camry car worth 26million naira which was packed in front of her quarters.

Similarly, she was accused of having sacked all hospital contractors and suppliers, awarded contracts to her relatives at exorbitant prices far above the amount previous contractors charged, according to the petition. Most of the companies used for the hospital contract owned by her husband and cronies.

All efforts to contact her proved abortive as at the time of filling this report.

For some weeks now, one of the industries that has received so much attention lately is the Nigerian music industry due to the content flying around the industry.

A lot of music fans have been enjoying this atmosphere as some claim it is very healthy for music especially for the lovers of hip-hop.
Not to keep you in suspense, all I am talking about it the most recent diss tracks flying around in the hip hop sector of the Nigerian music industry.
The hip hop industry has really come alive than it has ever been in the past few years.
It all started with one of Chocolate city’s latest signee, Blaqbones, who claims to be the best rapper in Africa shading fellow rapper, Davolee, who was
under Olamide’s imprint and Wale Turner, a rapper too, in a song which he was featured on titled ‘Define Rap’ by VJ Adams.

In his verse, he mentioned that ‘Where was Davolee and Wale Turner when sh*t got real’.
Just when we thought it was going to end with that, little did we know that something bigger was cooking between Vector and M.I, who have been counterparts over the years.

Vector pulled the trigger by releasing a diss track for M.I titled ‘Tetracycline’ , this received so many comments from hip-hop lovers especially for the fact that Vector is one who has been able to maintain his stature as one of the best rapper Nigeria has got.

While we were still waiting for M.I to respond, Vector pulled the second shot at M.I, whoop!, it was just another huge shot again as Mr Incredible fans were off balance as they listened to the second track.

Still in the midst of Vector and MI’s diss, Davolee who got a shade from Blaqbones responded and didn’t just fire the shot at Blaqbones alone but also Dremo, Falz, Poe, Ycee, Vector.His reply was such an epic one as people ever expected that he would kill so many birds with just one stone.

He mentioned how Blaqbones is just disrespectful, how Falz isn’t worthy of being a lyricist, how Ycee career went down, how Poe can’t drop hits, how vector delved into commercial music while challenging Dremo to battle him if he can.

However, Dremo actually did!, He replied with a diss track titled ‘Scape Goat’, the album art alone spoke so many messages and the lyrical prowess was just waow. He said in one his lines that he would turn Davolee to a mini-davolee, and how Davolee wears fake chains.

In less than 24hours, Davolee responded and said Dremo has used his glory to gather IG Followers who will still come for his funeral and asked if he bought the 30BG-Ice with his money, he also praised Davido for uplifting Dremo.

The whole thing got interesting when M.I responded to Vector’s diss tracks in a song titled ‘Viper’. He was so strategic to have released it on World Teachers’ day, creating an impression that he wants to school vector.
He made it known in the song that he didn’t do a diss track but a compassion, he repeatedly called Vector’s first name ‘Lanre’ in the song like he was referring to his son.

M.I also stated in his song that the fact that his son is taller than him doesn’t mean he won’t prostrate, recall that Vector had earlier shaded M.I for his height in the second diss track.

All these made Nigerians and music lovers give so much attention to Hip-Hop again in the country. It would be worthy of being noted that Rappers have delved into commercial music in order to make ends meet because they believe Nigerians don’t appreciate rap, however, with this, one would be left with no choice than to Say the real Hip-Hop is still alive.
Hip-hop has always been about rap battle, diss tracks, just for the fun of it, to create entertainment for the fans and have the fans anticipate their favourite rappers’ next diss track.

In the videos, Bisola can be seen trying to explain why she visited the church. She revealed that she visited the church due to a fire outbreak in her home at the time. In a much older footage she said she visited the church because God had delivered her from thinking of death.

ORIKADUN: A CELEBRATION OF AFRICAN CULTURE

Orikadun is one of the twenty six festivals celebrated annually by the good people of Igbara-Oke in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State. It has always been a moment of celebration filled with colourful display of traditional and cultural activities.

As the customs, Orikadun marks the end of the calendar (Traditional Calendar) year for the people of Igbara-Oke having enjoyed bountiful harvests in the outgoing year, and it signifies the beginning of a New Year. This year's event attracts many important dignitaries from far and near, particularly all sons and daughters of Igbara-Oke origin, both at home and abroad. The indigene and non indigene residents, ethnic groups, religious group among others participated actively to bring out the best in the display of their different cultural heritage.

Orikadun is being celebrated by all and sundry in the town, as all other activities, including trades, social gatherings or parties will be put on hold or postponed to honour this day.

All the Queens from the three Ruling Houses, Princes and Princesses, Chiefs and their groups (Otus), Baales from the sixteen satellite towns and their villagers, the forty-three Olori-Omos and people from their quarters were all present to pay homage to Olowa and the Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom.

Igbara-Oke, being a border town, is relatively peaceful and played host to different ethnic and cultural groups, Igede, Igbo, Igbira, Urhobo, Hausa, Ukwuni, Igala, Benin, Idoma etc. They all live in love and harmony, without discord. These ethnic groups were all in attendance in their respective cultural attires to add colours to the event.

Orikadun Celebration can also be regarded as the final events to round-up all the festivals in Igbara-Oke. It afford the good people of Igbara-Oke the opportunity to rejoice with one another, and in appreciation to the goodness of God to see the beginning of another year. Also, it is when the beautiful cultural heritage of the good people of Igbara-Oke are showcased.

Orikadun always begins with special prayers which are usually said in the early hour between the hours of 6-7am by Olowa of Igbara-Oke at a place called “Okiti Omo Olore” at Odo-Oja. The whole town will at this hour await the arrival of Olowa at this points, while others at different junctions to accompany him to where he would say the pray for the town and all the residents.

This year's edition was not different from what it used to be, as the prayer was said at the given time at the early hour. At Okiti Omo Olore, Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede in his usual way reiterated the importance of the prayer as it has been from time immemorial and being observed by his forefathers. He made the people to know that Orikadun celebration has no ritual, nor being done done to worship any deities. According to him, it is purely of traditions and culture as it involves both the Christians and Muslims to give thanks to God for seeing another year.

That was why it was no surprise to have seen people of different faith at the point of prayer and later at the Palace of Olowa to expressed their joy as they celebrate.

Apart from the indigenes and the residents in Igbara-Oke, dignitaries from all works of life, government official, traditional rulers from the state and neighboring states, traditional worshiper, among others were also there to grace the occasion with their entourage.

Without mincing words, the event was indeed a wonderful way of showcasing the true African culture. Many audience attested to this and adjudged it the best ever.

The Paramount Ruler and Prescribed Authority, Olowa of Igbara-Oke kingdom, HRM, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede was full of joy and excitement to have seen his subjects, and other well wishers in the display of different culture as it concerns their tribes and groups.

The monarch in his address to the town said the reason for the crowd is as a result of love, unity and peaceful coexistence among the indigene and non indigene residents. He said, without these, this year's celebration wouldn't have been this glamorous.

Chiefs from different groups (also known as Otu) also spoke on the importance of living in love with one another. The Council of Chiefs, Baales, and Olori Omos in their traditions paid homage to Olowa as a sign of respect to the monarch.

All the way from Oyo Alaafin, the traditional worshippers presented the goodwill message on behalf of Alaafin of Oyo, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi to the good people of Igbara-Oke as they felicitate with the town.

Others who spoke at the events include the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Transport, Barr. Tobi Ogunleye, his counterpart in the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, President of Igbara-Oke Citizens in the Americas, Mr. Olu Faboyede and Sapaye of Igbara-Oke kingdom, Chief Victor Ayo Isijola.

They all applauded what they saw which they referred to as a typical of African Traditional Culture. According to them, the displayed was unique and could not be compared to any.

They also commended and appreciated the efforts of Oba Agbede at bringing together the large crowd and for the peaceful coexistence.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of gifts to three distinguished elderly women, Mrs. Beatrice Oyedele, Mrs. Rachael Asegbeloyin and Mrs. Esther Oniya in appreciation of their efforts at waging war against Gender Violence.

NGIJ Storms Bayelsa For Governance Assessment Investigation

The Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) on Sunday stormed Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital for governance and impact assessment of Governor Seriake Dickson's almost eight years administration in the state.

The NGIJ President, Wale Abydeen in a statement issued on Sunday in Yenagoa said the assessment was aimed at promoting accountability, transparency and good governance as well as strengthen democratic rule in Nigeria by performing watchdog role in the society.

Wale Abydeen hinted that the guild's members while in the state would interact with critical stakeholders including traditional rulers, security agencies, top government functionaries, labour leaders, political parties, artisans and others.

He added that 10,000 questionnaires will be administered across all the eight local government areas of Bayelsa State to assess the achievements and impact of Governor Seriake Dickson administration on the people.

The NGIJ President explained that the assessment became necessary as the governor is concluding his two terms tenure and in view of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Abydeen disclosed that the guild in August 2019 unveiled its Governance Assessment Report on administration of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello at the Federal Capital Territory.
