“Whether we die young or old, what matters is the grace to continue living hereafter. It is now four years since our beloved brothers and sisters slept in the Lord. We must realise that their death is an unavoidable call – a call to our Heavenly home that no one can disobey.
Jesus said that if you do not take up your cross and deny yourself daily and perhaps even get killed for your belief in Him, you are not worthy of Him (Matthew 10:38, Matthew 16:24). The level at which satan attacks us seems to be equal to the level of our commitment to the Lord. I don’t think enough people understand this. If you are totally committed to God, He will take up satan’s challenge against you.

As soon as we make a true conversion, a commitment asking Jesus to purchase us, we become Jesus’ property. Then satan hates us the same way he hates Jesus. That is why the moment we are truly saved, we are engaged in a phenomenal battle (John 15:18-22). We cannot separate warfare from salvation. True salvation is going to put you into direct conflict with satan.
Many of us would say, “Why should I suffer or die? After all, Jesus won the victory on the Cross and suffered for me?” But the question we need to ask ourselves is, “What did Jesus say?” He said, “I have said unto you, the servant is not greater than his Master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).

Anyone who claims that he does not have to suffer because Jesus did it for him is indirectly saying that he is greater than his Master. He is actually contradicting what Jesus said. Basically, we need to give up our lives here on earth and gain eternal life in Heaven. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we are accepting citizenship in Heaven and death here on earth.
Once Christ purchases us, we become aliens here on earth and there is a barrier between us and everything here on earth. We are servants, we simply obey the command of our Master. We do not decide what suffering we must bear.

Many people have been serving the Lord fervently and have come into difficult life situations because of being mistreated by either wicked men or carnal Christians. The truth is that they have been treated unjustly. But to become offended would only fulfil the enemy’s purpose of getting them out of the will of God. If you stay free from offence, you will stay in God’s will. If you become offended, you will be taken captive by the enemy to fulfil his own purpose and will.

If we are Christ’s followers, we must follow His example. If He could forgive the people who were killing Him, we can certainly find a way to forgive those who hurt us. When we cannot forgive, we hurt ourselves more than anyone. Nursing a grudge damages our heart. Life is too short to waste our time on things that have no lasting value or significance.
From eternity’s perspective, death is not a period; it is only a comma because of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. When a believer dies, he goes into glory, where there is no conflict. Heaven is our home. A man may die young yet be satisfied with living but a wicked man is not satisfied even with long life.

Those who try to kill us are only helping us to go home and rest. But those who send us home will go into further conflict; they will have more questions to answer than when they were alive. The wicked seem to prosper now and live without a care but they will spend eternity in terror and despair.
How can we honour the memory of the martyrs of faith? Endeavour by the grace of God to live for the Lord and give yourself to the needs of others.
Romans 14:8 – “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”

As 2019 approaches for the Nigerian election, there has been several individual showing interest to be elected in several political offices across the country and Ogun state isn’t an exception. In ogun state alone, Over 50 individuals have shown interest in contesting for the post of the governor but research has revealed the few qualified ones.
Among them includes Mr Jimi Lawal, who has been into public service since 2003 during the Era of Mallam Nasir El Rufai as the Minister of the FCT, Abuja, even up till now that he is the governor of Kaduna state.
The aspiration of Jimi Lawal can be likened to that which stands out among the crowd as his intentions, consultations, his works are second to none.

While speaking with selected journalists at his campaign office in Ijebu, he made it known that the decision to run for the office of the governor was a collective one as he was asked by his state residents and party executives due to his tremendous and selfless services rendered over the years.

He also made it known that his qualifications in terms of exposition to public service is another reason for his aspiration. In 2003, when Mallam Nasir El-Rufai became the Minister of the federal capital territory, Abuja, he served as an advicer and in 2015, served as the senior adviser on Investment Promotion , doubles as chief of staff to the governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

However, in Ogun state, it is no more news that the present Governor, Ibikunle Amosun made it known that he will be supporting a Yewa Candidate ad that he will be unveiling his candidate soon whom he described as ‘whizz-kid’ despite the fact that it is the turn of the Ijebus to govern the state. Mr Jimi Lawal explained that he isn’t bothered about Governor Amosun’s Candidate and stated how Governor Amosun used the term meant for the Yewa’s and how he is trying to compensate them by supporting them against the Ijebus who are the people meant to produce the next governor of the state.
‘’ Amosun has done well, so he is entitled, infact, if a Government has done so well and he doesn’t nominate someone however there is a tradition, governorship is rotated in the state, by the Egba Division, with a sub division of Yewa/Egbado and the Ijebu division with a sub division of Remo.

The first governor came from Ijebu, Ola Bisi Onabanjo, and after that it went to Egba, Chief Olusegun Osoba, then it came back to Ijebu ode in Remo, Otunba Gbenga Daniel , then it went to Egba, and it went to Egbado, Infact the Oba said no right thinking Ijebu man should come out because it wasn’t our time so you wouldn’t have found anyone, Ijebu supported the candidate but unfortunately, they were divided, OGD supported a Yewa Person in person of GNI, unfortunately PDP were divided and the faction led by Obasanjo supported Engr. Olurin from Yewa so their votes were divided, and unfortunately, Egba that has done it before got the ticket and won, and the rest is history.
Amosun has used Yewa’s tenure for his own so he is trying to compensate them and that is why he is supporting the Yewa Agenda which is wrong. You can’t use our turn to compensate your half-brother. It is the turn of Ijebus, I wouldn’t have come out but they called on me and I have the qualification and willing to serve.

Furthermore, he talked about his 5-point agenda if he is elected Governor of the state which includes Economic development, Human capital development , health care, Security of lives and property , Good Governance

The foregone quote aptly describes the man, Chibuzor Edwin Okolie, famously known and called CEO being abbreviation from his three names.

By the grace of God I have done so much at sensitizing my constituents and I believe they will come out in mass to support CEO. ORU-EAST Divine project. I am not a strange fellow in my community and I have spread the gospel of my vision and mission which is well understood. By and large, I am well prepared for the election and I have a brighter chance to get the party’s ticket.



What gives you motivation to contest for the position of House of Assembly?

I am highly motivated by the need to have more government impacts in my constituency. I am motivated by need to correct the existing abnormality of the current aged leaders who believe in looting the fortune of the future generation. The youths have come of age to take up the mantle of leadership and everywhere in the world; the trend is gears towards having more youthful elements in politics and decision making



Do you have confidence in the country’s electoral umpire, INEC to deliver free, fair and credible elections come 2019?

With what they have displayed in the just suspended bye-election in Rivers State, I think with maximum pressure they would not have any choice but to be transparent. Don’t forget Nigerians are now more vigilant and more mature politically. So, the issue of rigging and manipulation has been reduced in the last general election and it is my belief that INEC will play by the rule.



Insecurity as a result of the activities of armed robber, kidnapper and ritualists are very prevailing in South east and Imo is not exempted. What legislative measure do you wish to introduce in other to curb the menace and what's your view about state police?

If you have being following the news critically you will find out that the issue of kidnapping has become a menace to society but in Imo it's a different story because the issue has being brought to the nearest minimum but I shall lend my voice to strengthen the existing secured Imo and by extension Oru-East which is my constituency.



What will you do to encourage entrepreneurs in Oru if you are elected?



Undoubtedly, people need empowerment and there is a lot to be done in other to empower my constituent. First, will be to make laws that will boost investments and development of small scale businesses. I have in my game plan that there is need to attract development that will enhance the ability to transport goods produced locally to the open buying power. This will encourage more productivity as people would work for themselves in an enabling environment free from crime and insecurity. We shall form a front that will protect lives and property in my constituency by God’s willing.



Politics and perhaps contesting an election is no doubt a capital intensive project. You have been doing great works even apart from politics that gulp lots of capital, what's the source of your income?



I am an entrepreneur with interest in tourism and hospitality business. I have many businesses that have engaged me profitably in the past. I started working for myself since I was in secondary school and till date, I am a boss of myself. Although, I also do businesses with multi nationals companies around this region.



As a loyal party man, do you have confidence in the leadership of your party to conduct a credible primary and would you consider defecting an option if you lose at the primary?

Politics to me is not a do or die affairs. However, it would be a very big loses to the constituency if the party does not conduct a free fair and credible primary. But with the crop of leaders we have in PDP now, I have no doubt that the election with be free from imposition and manipulation.



Is your party in the best position to win next year general elections giving the gale of defections from right and left?



The best way to answer this question is to put to you this way: As a Nigerian would you vote to a lie called government if given second chance? I live the answer to you.



What's your view about the phrase; rule of law in contrast to national interest?

The rule of law is supreme and it is the only mechanism through which justice can be delivered to all. In fact, it is a typical example of an ignorant leader who got into power bye the rule of law and now claimed not to recognize the supremacy of constitution of the land. Nigeria and Nigerians need to be vigilant and watch out for any aberration that can drag the country backward.

it is our prayer that Almighty God crowns your aspiration with resounding victory. However, We'll like to know your view about the quest for Igbo presidency ?

Igbo presidency can't be achieved now. That's a hopeless promise; it will be manifested when Nigeria is ready to grow beyond ethnic politics. Because Nigerians are scared of developing internally which is what the Igbo presidency will bring to the table?

We appreciate all the good efforts of this administration in making Nigeria a safe place to live and work.


This letter is borne out of our concern for one of our colleagues, Mr. Samuel Ogundipe, a Security reporter with the Premium Times, an online newspaper.


Samuel was arrested by the police, alongside his Editor-In-Chief, Muskilu Mojeed and the Education reporter, Azeezat Adedigba on Tuesday the 14th of August 2018. The other two were later released.


Information obtained from the pair revealed that the police refused to release Samuel due to his refusal to disclose the source of a published story on a recent memo of the Inspector General of Police, IGP addressed to you last week.
As you know Sir, confidentiality of sources is critical to the growth of quality journalism in every civilised society.


Today, we received with sadness news that Samuel was arraigned before an Abuja magistrate court by the police in a bid to get an order to prolong his detention. It is also worrisome that the police curiously omitted the fact that Samuel is a Nigerian journalist in the charge sheet presented to the magistrate.


We therefore demand that you use your good office as a renowned advocate of law and social justice to intervene expediently for the release of Samuel Ogundipe.


Nevertheless, we believe that the rule of law should be followed to the letter in the event of any legal and fair prosecution. We also wish to remind the Nigerian Police that a federal law enacted in 2011 (Freedom of Information Act) reposes on the Nigerian media certain privileges of Confidentiality in section 16c, and the police shall therefore be held accountable for any unconstitutional act designed to oppress or traumatize Mr. Ogundipe, or any Nigerian journalist practising legitimately.


We thank Your Excellency in advance, as we look forward to your usually swift action on this matter.

Notorious Land Grabber, Mutairu Owoeye a.k.a Baba Owoeye Invades Isoso Community GRA Quarters in Sagamu with Over 200 Armed Thugs

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, lately signed a bill into law which prescribes 25 years imprisonment or death sentence for anyone found guilty of land grabbing.
He signed the bill 34 days after the state House of Assembly passed it. The law criminalises land grabbing or forceful takeover of landed property in the state.

The bill was passed on October 11, 2016. It is titled, “H.B. No. 03/2016 – A bill for a law to prohibit forcible entry and occupation of landed properties, violent and fraudulent conducts in relation to landed properties, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and allied matters and for other matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.”
According to the law, death sentence applies when a life is or lives are lost in such forceful takeover of land. Kidnappers also risk life sentence.
However, at the peaceful neighborhood of Isoso community, GRA Quarters, Sagamu, Ogun state; Land Grabbers has been drizzling terror on the dwellers of Sagamu and its vicinities; the community was disrupted some days ago by hoodlums, who stormed the area as thousand residents fled their homes.
The hooligans, who the residents described as land grabbers, aka ‘Omoniles,’ were said to have vandalised property worth millions of Naira.
The leader of the hoodlums, Chief Mutairu Owoeye aka (Baba Owoeye) who were said always using Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to perpetrate his forbidding land grabbing activities was boasting he is above the law and no government can halt his actions
We gathered that sometimes ago, two families had dispute over three hectares of land, and both headed to court. At the end, both families secured same Supreme Court judgment ceding the three hectares property for the two families that both must be in consent whenever any of them decides to sell out of the property.
We learnt that duo of Mr Jimoh Olatunji the Agba Akin of Makun Kingdom in Sagamu, Mr Onayemi, Mr Mutairu Owoeye AKA (Baba Owoeye) and one Olowo Ake led a 200 bandits harmed with sophisticated firearms, offensive weapons, malicious destruction/ demolition of houses and industries property, terrorizing the whole community whose their properties does not any way in jurisdiction of the three hectares of land belongs to the said families.
Visits to the community today by our reporter, it was pull together that land grabbers were full in operation with dangerous weapons, ready for war and already creates panic in the community as people of Isoso GRA Quarters were forced to have a sleepless nights with horrified experience. Efforts to get more details and move around were prevented by these mobsters as our reporter was seriously threatens to be pierced with cutlass
Presently, these lawbreakers is currently waylaying people in the community, raiding houses at the neighborhood, using the opportunity to perpetrate different kind of criminal activities. Shops and Offices closed down and no business doings because of the heavy presence of Land Grabbers exhibiting their malevolent movements in the community.
The elders of Isoso community in GRA Quarters, Sagamu, Ogun state have cries out to Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Police IG and Security agencies to come to their rescue and deliver them from this broad day light horror. Also, different petitions has been written to Governor’s office and Inspector General of Police over the dreadful activities of this notorious land grabbers in Ogun state and its environs

Again on the 9th of April 2018 while ministering live, the Man of God explained clearly the political drama that will unfold in APC.

He said the ship of of the Ruling party will soon Rock and that it will rock very high. He stated categorically that will rock until it becomes scanty and that attempt at reconciliation will not be effective.

Samuel Ortom of Benue, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state.

On the other hand, I think I'm getting obsessed. The other night, I was on YouTube. I sent the whole night watching all videos I could find about the Lagos State House of Assembly. I think I've read every thing they have on their website. I know nearly all the members of the house by their names and faces. Maybe I'm getting obsessed.. Lol!

Now, seriously speaking, I believe we can break Nigeria into an era of positivity. Well, I'm an eternal optimist. I believe that there's always a tipping point where when its reached, the course of direction just suddenly shifts and newness begins. I also believe that right now, there's a fresh wind blowing across our political scene. That's why you see young people stepping up to contest elections. There's a window that has been opened up, and some of us who are sensitive enough are grabbing this with both hands, because we know that if we must change our country, we must be aggressive about it.

These few weeks, I have interacted with more people on the streets that I have ever done in my entire life, and its been very revealing. Whenever I take a bike, I make sure I engage the 'okada rider' in a conversation. And boy, these people are frustrated. One told me one day, he said 'we don't have a government in this country, we are just living in a jungle'. Everyone is feeling the pain, and worse, there's no one to even complain to. You can't even see your elected leaders. They are hidden in beautiful offices, eating good food, wearing nice clothes, while the common man starves.

If we don't step up to take charge of our destinies, we will be forever in this condition. And this is why I'm doing this. I'm contesting for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly (Ikeja 1 Constituency).

I'm very much passionate about specific issues. They are:
•Education (formal and technical)
•Ease of doing Business/Poverty Eradication
•Youth Capacity Development (children and teens)
•Women Empowerment

These are issues, I'll fight massively to ensure we make progress in these sectors.

I have 3 accounts with various banks, First Bank, UBA and GT. I dare say I have issues from time to time some even worse than the one in question. The point is that I am always in touch with my customer service officer. At the end of the day. I have peace of mind.

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) and United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) on Wednesday November 30, 2016, signed a US$ 150 million loan agreement to finance infrastructure and SME projects, including women-owned enterprises in Nigeria.
“The Fund will support development of productive sectors of the economy; particularly the power sector, Infrastructure, Women owned enterprises as well as SMEs. This line of credit comes at an opportune time and would boost efforts at reducing the huge power sector-financing deficit that is limiting energy supply and complement our support to medium and small scale enterprises while also promoting gender diversification across the value chain” said Kennedy Uzoka, UBA Group Managing Director/CEO.
UBA, one of the largest commercial banks in Nigeria incorporated in 1961, operates in 19 African countries whilst providing a wide range of products and services. UBA Nigeria has been the leading financial institution to support various infrastructure projects, particularly power, telecom, transport and also social infrastructure such as hospital and education facilities, and received Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year Award in 2015. Nobel prize-winning author Wole Soyinka said Thursday he has fulfilled his pledge to throw away his US residency green card and leave the country if Donald Trump won the presidential election.

Shortly before the vote, Soyinka had vowed to give up his permanent US residency over a Trump victory to protest against the Republican billionaire’s campaign promises to get tough on immigration.

“I have already done it, I have disengaged (from the United States). I have done what I said I would do,” the 82-year-old said on the sidelines of an education conference at the University of Johannesburg.

“I had a horror of what is to come with Trump… I threw away the (green) card, and I have relocated, and I’m back to where I have always been” — meaning his homeland Nigeria.

The prolific playwright, novelist and poet won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986 and has been a regular teacher at US universities including Harvard, Cornell and Yale.

At the same time he said he would not discourage others from applying for a green card.

“It’s useful in many ways. I wouldn’t for one single moment discourage any Nigerians or anybody from acquiring a green card… but I have had enough of it,” he said.

Soyinka, one of Africa’s most famous writers and rights activists, was jailed in 1967 for 22 months during Nigeria’s civil war.

He was reported to have recently completed a term as scholar-in-residence at New York University’s Institute of African American Affairs

Talented artiste, Harrysong has finally ended the long time chemistry between him and his label, Five Star records owned by E-money. He revealed this in an interview with Planet TV and made known that he is setting up his own music platform, ALTERPLATE. The Olusola Oke Campaign Committee has cried out to President Muhammadu Buhari on the plans by members of his cabinet to surreptitiously release the sum of Seven Billion Naira (N7 billion) to the All Peoples Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu from a bogus N10 billion infrastructural contract slated for Owo community of the State to perfect plans to rig the November 26, 2016 election in the State.

The Organisation while raising this alarm in Akure on Friday, alleged that the plan was hatched in the Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja wherein a bogus contract was without due process mooted for works on some infrastructures in Owo area of the State where Akeredolu hails from and then divert a substantial parts of the money towards rigging the election.

In a release issued by the Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the Organisation, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, “the boast of the APC which had been sedentary in its approach to canvassing for votes in the State is that they would rig this election even if only one vote is cast for them. They have been preaching it and now they have profess it with this dastard plan perfected and supervised by the top echelons of the Government to use government funds to make good their threat.”

According to the Olusola Oke Campaign Committee, the contract sum was perfected and released without going through due process and the money has now been earmarked as part of the war chest to be used by the APC to rig the election later this month.

“We want to appeal to President Buhari to be aware of what is being done by members of his cabinet in their vaunted ambition to win this election at all cost and immediately arrest the situation. While we have been going round the State canvassing for votes from the people, they have remained in their offices boasting that they will use Federal Might to rig the election even if nobody vote for them.

“The APC members in Ondo have been preaching this strange gospel of rigging and we are now amazed by this latest antics to win the election with the award of a strange contract for a whopping N10 billion for Owo community where Akeredolu hails from with a view to releasing a whopping sum of N7 billion to him to make the rigging plan a reality.

“The pertinent question to ask now is that, why a contract in Owo, which has one of the best road networks in Ondo State? Who approved this contract sum and why did it not go through due process such contracts had to go through?

“We want to assure them that the people of Ondo State are watching them and the consequences of rigging election here await perpetrators. Winning election should not be a do-or-die affair,” the Committee posited in the Statement.

While calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies in Nigeria to beam their searchlights on the activities of the Mr Babatunde Fashola led Federal Ministry of Works, the Oke Campaign Committee, reminded them that those who live in glass houses do not throw stones.

Its words: “If we have been probing those who were alleged to have embezzled our treasure-troves and those who doled out monies without following due process, it will be strange that those sitting on the throne of Justice now are equally perpetrating the same offence they sit in justice over others, it is such an absurd development.

“We, therefore, called on President Buhari, a noted democrat and a man fabled for his aversion for graft to immediate call to order those attempting to make nonsense his fight against graft and election rigging the order of the day to order as it portends grave danger for the nation. Election must be free and fair and the will of the people must be allowed to prevail.”
