Former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has again cleared the air on his stand concerning the forthcoming presidential elections, as well as the candidate he will support.

At the launch of his new book ‘My Watch’ in the United Kingdom, Obasanjo responded to questions on reports that he had endorsed the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, maintaining that his wish is to see Nigeria headed by a strong president.

“Well, whatever you get in the paper and in the press, please yourself, he said, referring to guests at the event who wanted to confirm the reported endorsement.

He added that “”What I said and I maintain that and I will say it again and I will do it. When the time comes for me to vote, I will consider the track record of all the candidates that are contesting and I will assess and based on my assessment for who I believe have the best track record to perform the job of the Nigerian president, then he will have my vote and if anybody should know what the job of the Nigerian president requires, I should know.”

He further noted that “Nigeria has a population of 180 million and you wouldn’t have anybody other than one person or two persons that can run the affairs of Nigeria? What the hell are we talking about?

“For me there are millions who can run the affairs of Nigeria who are not even coming out. So why should you die on behalf of one who is probably performing as a mediocre. With all due respect.

“Nigeria, if you love it, you would look for the best for Nigeria and I don’t believe that at this point in time we have the best for Nigeria,” he said.

Bros relax. Now let's disect the news . U guyz said he has endorsed Buhari. Now the young man OBJ said u guyz can believe watever pleases u as u read on d newspaper. This is what u get when ur certificateless. Not reading between the lines. Even before he debunked the rumours av already told my colleagues that from what he said in Kenya OBJ has not endorsed Buhari. Rather he was just affirming that Buhari is qualified and has all it takes to lead this country.

Folks were already jumping that he has endorsed him. By the way, obj endorsement doesn't change a thing. He lost even in his ward during last election. For me he is even a bad market him endorsing any.

General Obasanjo has just debunked rumour that he has endorsed Buhari. Speaking with Channels correspondent in london where the general was launching his controversial book "my watch" debunked the news making the round that he has endorsed buhari.

He said he is still making assesment of the two candidates and will make his position known after conviction on who between Buhari and Jonathan will perfom better.

I have always asked : who is sponsoring GMB massive campaign he has been pulling.
We all know Buhari even borrowed money to purchase INEC form and was able to realise only N54m. How come he is matching PDP money for money in campaign.

This is to tell discerning Nigerians that behind the anti corruption posture of Buhari lies a very big deceit. Tinubu and Amaechi doesn't run charity org and definitely wud want sometin in return. Amaechi used Dan Amachere faction of the house of asembly to pass request for N19billion loan he procured . He said the loan was to complete ongoing project and speed up construction of Mono rail. PDP raised red flag asking how can he borrow such amount just some few months to the end of his tenure. Now we know what the money was actually meant for.

The involvement of Chadian army I wud say has a very big impact on d fight against these guyz. What I know for sure is that chad has been a safe haven for these BH. Kaduna (NDR) - This certificate scandal of Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has really opened the eyes of many. Initially, some of us in the north thought that Goodluck Jonathan in his desperate move to remain in power beyond 2015 wants to use this certificate issue to shut out our champion, Buhari.


But from every indication, the opposite is the case. It's an understatement to say that I'm ashamed of being a Muslim and be supporting Buhari. Islam is not about lies and evil. Islam is a true religion based on peace and unity.


For over a month, Buhari is yet to provide his certificate and remove the shame he has painted on us, his diehard supporters. I mean, how difficult is it for Buhari to instruct WAEC to send a copy of his certificate to INEC, not to Premium Times? Is this so difficult? He doesn't need to travel to do this. The time he used in Press Conference is the same opportunity he would tell WAEC to kindly send his certificate to INEC. By so doing, the whole world would know that he is truly a man of integrity and incorruptible.


Organizing a Press Conference with the aim to release a shabbily prepared Statement of Result is not ideal, especially when the CERTIFICATE is there with WAEC. Or is the Statement of Result more valuable than the CERTIFICATE?


For 2 days now, I have thought about everything I held Buhari at high esteemed thinking that he was being victimized by the lucifers in PDP, but I was wrong. I have come to a solid conclusion that he has been lying to us, his ardent supporters. I am ashamed to say this, but I must say it. I must describe Buhari in 6 words:


1. FRAUD - he entered the army without any certificate but rose to the rank of Maj-General taking salaries and pensions which he didn't merit.


2. COUPIST - he was the arrowhead in ousting Gowon in 1976 as well as Shagari in 1983.


3. LOOTER - I now believe the $2 billion in midland bank Fela sang about.


4. BIGOT - He jailed politicians that are not from his ethnic group or how could one explain why Shagari wasn't jailed but Ekwueme was. He feels so proud that he executed 76% of PTF projects in the north, neglecting even our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Southwest.


5. LIAR - He maintains that Abacha didn't steal just because he followed Abacha and looted Nigeria dry. He claims to have N1m in his bank account, yet his children are in the UK schooling where millions of naira are paid as Tuition fees.


6. FORGER - this one is causing me depression. I can't believe that Buhari has no single certificate, instead of him to open up, he went and forged one.

We have no option than to stick with Jonathan till 2019. Buhari has messed us up walahi!
