Spare us the gender bleating. God's laws serve a higher purpose. The purpose of the indissolubility of marriage is to strenghten the family as the building block of society.

The whole essence of their relationship is a booty call. It doesn't serve God's purpose but subverts it. In essence, what you guys are saying is that if a couple, married for the first time, were to go their separate ways. They are free to sleep with each other in perpetuity because they are only consumating their indissoluble marriage. Utter nonsense.

In practice, the man will be unable to carry on his two timing without the help of the ex-wife. In God's eyes, not that I speak for God, they would be subverting the purpose of his law and as a result are commiting a sin.

do you have to speak all this grammar to say that? grin
in essence, are you saying they should cease and desist from chopulating themselves ? grin

iReport:

Ekiti: SSS arrests man for sewing fake police uniforms

By Akin Oyedele, Ado-Ekiti

Operatives of the Ekiti State Command of the State Security Service have arrested a tailor, one Segun Adamu, said to be sewing fake police uniforms, in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Also, the men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the state police command arrested 18 suspected cultists allegedly being trained in gun handling in the same town, on Friday.

Men of the SSS were said to have arrested the tailor at Anaye Street on Friday, while sewing a large quantity of the police uniforms.

He was said to had been unable to give satisfactory answers as to who contracted him to sew the uniforms when interrogated on the spot, prompting his arrest.

A source said that the tailor was caught with an unspecified number of uniforms already sewn and a large quantity of clothes.

When our correspondent visited the office of the State Director of the SSS, Mrs. Florence Ikenone, on Sunday, she declined comments on the matter.

She said, "I'm a civil servant. And this is a secret service. You don't expect me to start telling you that we have arrested anybody in connection with what you mentioned."

When the SSS contacted the police authority over the matter, it was gathered that the police denied enlisting the service of the man to sew uniforms for their personnel.

The source said that the tailor was still being quizzed to disclose the identity of those that sent him after which he would be transferred to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

The SARS were also said to have swooped on a location in Ikere where an unnamed local government chairman was allegedly harbouring suspected cultists said to be part of those an unnamed political party planned to use for the rerun election.

The fiery looking men were said to have initially resisted arrest by the police following which some of them were shot on the foot to demobilise them.

Sensing that they might be killed, the suspects were said to have given themselves up leading to the arrest of the 18 of them, while some of them allegedly escaped.

I didnt marry her for papers. I had plenty of white women before her offering me to marry them but they were middle aged and obese. Please, the papers were only a bonus. I married her because I genuinely liked her. I am actually in contact with a girl back home. She is pretty, intellegent and shes only 21 so I hope it progresses.

Aloy.Emeka:

What if both parties did not remarry after their divorce, is it a sin for both of them to explore each other once in a while even though they are no more legally bound by the marital clause?

Emeka ,this is another dimension to this whole thing.
Would they be seen as fornicating (in the sight of God) if they got divorced and still get together once in a while for a touch down grin
These questions are not that easy to answer afterall some separated couples still bound legally by marriage get together once in while and tango and are seen as cheating when they see other people while separated

Weapons were allegedly used by the members of both sects on each other, causing many injuries among each followers.

The fracas was said to have spread beyond the venue of the ceremony as the houses of leaders of both sects were destroyed. The police in the state waded into the matter to control the situation, but on Tuesday night, there was a reprisal attack at the houses of some leaders of another sect.

and the 2 groups were chanting allahu akhbar!

Stupid people
why can't they be tolerant of themselves and others?
If a group wants to even celebrate Easter why should it bother the Muslims around them?
why can't they worship their God and leave others to worship whatever and however they choose?

Rules of Christianity aside, the whole situation is pathetic. Woman should move on. He comes for sex and then leaves and sleeps with someone else. That's disgusting

Very true
But what if she dooesn't want to go dating and sampling other men
should she just buy some gadgets to help her out and forget men when she still loves and believes her man will come back

1. the new wife shld not have married a divorcee anyway if she were a true christian so she is living in sin herself.

2. I dont blame the wife . . . she has only 2 options - remain celibate (since she doesnt want to sin) or sleep with the man she married and still loves.

Actually the Bible says that if the unbelieving man leaves his spouse (this man obviously would qualify),she's not bound.
She could remarry isn't it so?

The scenario of this discussion is that the woman is a Christian.
That is the main crux of the matter.

and what kind of retarded woman would STILL sleep with a guy that left her for another woman?

The Bible calls the new wife an adulteress, that opens up a whole 'nother dimension to this discussion

From the man's part = sin.
On the part of the woman . . . i cant say, its her husband anyway.

That was my thought also.
I thought the woman could chop the man if she wanted to and he was up for it.

I know this sounds like an easy answer but it's not.
I was having this discussion with a friend today.

Supposing a Christian man and woman fall in love and get married vowing to love each other till death.
They have a healthy, explosive sex life but somewhere along the line the man left her for another woman.
He flies for divorce goes on to marry the new woman

The woman remains single and shares custody of the kids with the husband.
But they continue to have sex ocassionally.
It may be immoral but is it sinful especially since the Bible for the most part is against divorce ?
And the woman in this case never stopped loving the husband despite what he did to her and would like him back.

@ Ijawgirl, I couldn't have put it better myself.

What is there to hate about Ijaw culture?

Is it the fishing, the swimming, the piriangala, the pioru or the liberal culture?

It is well known that Ijaw women are the most liberal in Nigeria. Nobody send sef. If your husband dey ph@ck up, you go just replace am sharp sharp.

Ijaw culture is spotless mehn. cool

The only thing I don't like is the warrior culture which was passed down from war canoe-house times.

My brother that is not always a good thing.
It's not uncommon to see a married woman in Ijawland who leaves her matrimonial home to conceive and bear for another man then return to continue the family where she stopped.
You shouldn't even say these things loudly to the hearing of others.

Aloy.Emeka:

That is one thing I'm yet to understand about Yoruba culture. I've been bullied many times by Yoruba elders to prostrate but i always stand my ground and quietly tell them NO. The youngies are doing it ajibo style now anyway. It'll soon fade away, hopefully.

I actually love that culture of prostrating and courtesying before your elders.
In Igboland, one small boy will just stand at attention and be talking to a 70 year old man sometimes calling him by his first name sef.
The culture shouldn't die amongst Yorubas. It's very respectful.
People like Sauron that run around abusing their elders ,if this was in olden days,I would have ordered him sold into slavery. grin

It's about a Nigerian pastor who tried to scam a church in the US and they made an idiot out of him, lol
Read the story below as told by Ifeanyi N.

Pastor Samuel Eze of God Love Bible Ministry in Apapa, approaches the Church of Bread and Wine abroad with the aim of helping them spread the work here in Nigeria, however he has a shortcoming: He needs funds. Thus he asked the Church to provide him with $74,000 to foster a joint venture between the two churches,

419eater is contacted and takes over and poses as Father Ted Chilly of the Bread and Wine Church. He immediately responds to Samuel Eze's email requesting the funds ($74,000)
This is a picture of the " Church of Bread and Wine" and its Photoshop!! To fool Pastor Samuel!!
Says "Father Ted" (419eater) to Pastor Samuel in his email reply to him: "You have come to the right place. We have over 300 churches world-wide and love to help upcoming churches like yours. We don't, however send funds without recourse to our due procedures, in order to be sure of where our funds are being sent. You must follow the formal steps to identify yourself with our Church before u can claim the money.
They are as follows: You must identify with the symbols of our Church, which are BREAD and WINE."
1. You must send us a picture of yourself holding our Church name printed on a banner. You must be sitted.
2. You must send a picture of yourself holding a bottle of WINE to your ear.
3. You must send a picture of yourself carrying a loaf of BREAD on your head.
