Some Muslims in Western Nigeria shout glory!,attend crusades,go to churches and to mosques They quote Bible passages like no man's business and ask for prayers when in trouble Yes there are Islamobaptists and Chrislams Perhaps inquisitive minds Maybe they are the ones trooping to Christ at the end of the day. Let them keep hearing the word. The word works My good friend in the midwest (USA) was once like that, today she's a Christian and married to one and her whole family members including her dad are now Christians |

9jaganja: Seriously, I don't think it's right for anyone to have a king. We can have laws guiding our morals but what are kings for? However, having an Igbo king in another man's land is totally disrespecting. I know, I know , they have it in Lagos but it's only a celebrity postition. Oba of Eko have spiritual roles he plays not political at all. Only corrupt kings play politics . I don't know about Igbos but in Yoruba land, kings are not selected or elected, they are chosen by the God of Prophecy and Divination(Ifa). So the Eze thing in Lagos is a celebrity role to promote more unity amongst the people and also make the Igbos feel at home and guided in Lagos which is working if you ask me.
It's just a title. However, if the king doesn't approve of it, it shouldn't happen. If the Oba of Lagos said no to Eze thing in Lagos, it won't happen. But Igbo people obey the traditional rules in Lagos especially in areas where the traditional ruleS applies which is few. If the Eze thing will mean Igbos won't obey the traditional laws of the place, then it will be a problem but that is not the case so let them be. ONE Nigeria!! and what are these traditional rules in Lagos if I might ask? A country that has no enforcable law and order and you're talking of traditional rules. Igbos have no kings. The title king was from the newspaper article perhaps. If it's a celebrity position in Lagos,is it hoping to overthrow the Obong in Calabar? sheesh! |

Everyone that knows me knows I have some tiny little crush on Obama I was one of his fiercest supporters on nairaland during the campaign but last night, I dreamt of ObamaThis is the truth y'all. In that dream, Michelle was our nanny helping with the kids. Obama and I lived happily in a house with very beautiful gardens And the house was white he flashed that colgate smile in the dream at some point and I smiled back. This was one of the best dreams I ever had,it seemed so real I was almost late for work because I couldn't wake up on time Eventually I woke up and told my husband about my dream and he asked if I had malaria. Maybe it's the upcoming inauguration. I wonder what this dream means? |

that's exactly what it is, a go between and a local "leader" per se (similar to Al sharpton in the USA, for blacks if you will) The term king is used loosely. Igbos didn't really have kings, they've always had a democracy and not a monarchy with the exception of Aro and one other place |

tpia: This Eze kingship thingy seems like a relatively recent thing, as far as I know. In some areas what they have, or used to have, is a community leader who also acts as an unofficial representative for his/her community, and sometimes these leaders are given titles by and from the host community, in recognition of their contributions and goodwill.
Thats the one I know.
However, things may have changed after the civil war, or else different areas have different laws about such matters. My dear how old are you, this one you sabi pre war modalities of Ezeship? The eze thing is really nothing. You remember sometime ago when Igbo's were being kidnapped for ransom in some Yoruba town, some "yoruba King" in Enugu went on record and spoke out and condemned the act happening in his home area . These people are not paid, they are not there to cause trouble. they are mere spokesmen for their people. Just like every Igbo town in the USA have associations, they are not looking to overthrow the US govt. I doubt if the Alafin of Oyo or Ooni of Ife is concerned by the "igbo kings" without palaces in their neighborhoods. If those recognised titled men don't even wield much powers as they did perhaps in pre colonial times, what could some puny Igbo kings do? The obong should chill What powers does he even have? |

insight04: The last Igbo clown who tried that Ezi Ndi Igbo stuff in Cross River was kicked out of Ikom and his bread factory was burned down. He was given a proverb, that "you don't sit down on top of a kola-nut tree to eat kola-nut".(you simply look for a quiet place to eat it, twit).
Can't they sit down like normal visitors and do their spare-tyre business jeje without trying to usurp territorial powers ? So it amuses you that a man had his means of livelihood probably employing a few Ekaettes and Okons burnt to ashes? How silly. Eze ndi Igbo means king of the Igbos. Hausa have their kings within their communities in Aba,Owerri,Enugu and Umuahia Yorubas have theirs in Igboland There are so called Igbo kings amongst the Igbo communities in Yorubaland. Why then are Calabar fearful of Igbos having someone they designate as some form of leader and spokesman in Calabar Are you folks that insecure? By the way spare parts business is a million times better than doing boi boi and house girls all over the nation. |

Politics › Re: The Police Killed At Least 90 Muslims In Jos Crisis by osisi2(f): 4:43am On Jan 13, 2009 |
But it is quite unfortunate that Hausa Fulani (Muslims) were killed much more than anyone, therefore in this case, it is a matter of what contributed to more death, I bet even in Kano, when there is fighting, Police sometimes shoot, but not upto that number (90) this indicates there is an order for that before they started the act, and since non-Muslims were killing much more than the Muslims it means non-Muslims were carrying arms/weapons more advanced than the Muslims, most probably they were carrying guns.
It is therefore necessary to investigate the killings throughly and see who are those behind those acts, the reasons while this things keeps happening is that the so-called indigenes are always favoured when it comes to matters of Judgment, I bet, all the Indigenes of Jos caught in the crisis will be released without charge, but the non-indigenes will be charged and most probably be sent to Prison, the result is this Indigenes will still raise more violence in the state.
The truth maybe difficult to be accepted, but Hausa-Fulani of Jos are very peaceful loving people, and I bet, the Indigenes of Jos are worried about Hausa-Fulani people being participating in the politics of Jos. The end thing is "Why will the party nominate a Hausa-Fulani as candidate since they knew he was not an Indigene? Why? and people still wonder why these namas are a part of Nigeria? See the way they reason like the herd of cattle they rear. Let the remaining almajiris who escaped become pen pals with the remaining hamas operatives. Efulefus. Kudos to the Nigeran police here. They should have done a whole lot more Your post should have read like so But it is very fortunate that Hausa Fulani (Muslims) were killed much more than anyone, therefore in this case, it is a matter of what contributed to just 90 almajiri deaths, I bet even in Kano, when there is fighting, Police sometimes shoot, but not upto that number (90) this indicates the police are finally waking up and since Muslims were killing much more than the the non-Muslims it means Muslims were carrying arms/weapons, most probably they were carrying guns.
It is therefore necessary to congratulate the police the killings especially those who are behind those valiant acts, the reasons while this things keeps happening is because Nigerians have accepted these killings by almajiri Muslims.I bet,the non-indigene Muslims will will still raise more violence in the state.
The truth is well known by all and sundry that Hausa-Fulani of Jos and beyond are very violent people, and I bet, the Indigenes of Jos are worried about Hausa-Fulani making Jos a killing ground. The end thing is yet to come. |

Auwal The Senegal release itself is err. It was C.A.N that infiltrated the Nigerian police and killed innocents in Jos. And it has been long when they started engineering this kind of debacle. Let me figure out their (CAN) weapon stations in Jos. In u knw Jos watch following churches they are the depository centres of CAN ammunitions 1.Anglican church Amigo junction by new market. 2. catholic ecwa Church at Nassarawa Junction if ur going to Dogon Dutse 3. Our ladie saint Fatima Ali kazaure by Monido street 4. Saint Morumba zaria Road Jona Jang the excutive Govt of plateau state is highly involved in the recent riot thats why the panic. For those that don't knw, the indigeneos mendicants of plateau state are not the brain behind the myhem in Jos city. As time goes on C.A.N will have no place to hide their evil agenders. Are you using "idea" to reveal your next targets. Only 90 jihadists killed out of 400 lost lives and you're crying. Those 310 innocent souls what did they do wrong? wrap up your dead with mats and feed their sorry souls to the birds of the air They killed themselves. Good riddance to useless soldiers of a a violent religion. It's about time southerners in northen Nigerian had firearms in their homes. That is the only language those hooligans understand |

a divorcee with 2 kids?? baggages ha!!! not a very easy road to tread for a young person. think well maybe just forget about both of them and focus on whatever you have at hand eg career.
i personally think divorcee with kid or kids should go with another divorcee with kid or kids. My dear,I agree wholeheartedly. It's tough enough watching ones own kids than deal with someone else's that'll remind you ,you're not that mother. Unless the kids are in their moms custody and only visit then I may deal with it I don't want to die young |

Typical story from a girl who's fallen out of love with one and in love with another. It's not unusual to even look at the face of the other guy and see wrinkles everywhere. You obviously don't love the single guy anymore, let him go and don't string him along and keep him as a back up. That's not fair. Your divorcee lover is telling you a lie about why he got divorced. I don't believe that story,I wonder why you do. He has a lot of baggage but if that's your thing give it a try (not my advice) you may find out you weren't meant for each other and hang around a few years because you now have your own kids together and call it a day. |
