HealthEBOLA: A Student Introduced It To Virgin Country-where? How? by oskaaay(op): 4:58pm On Aug 29, 2014
Its still seems hard for many Nigerians to forgive the Liberian American Patrick Sawyer that introduced ebola to the Federal Republic of Nigeria that another person recognized to be a Guinean student in University who was tested positive to EVD disappeared from Guinea to Senegal.

His appearance in Senegal seems to defile the country amidst the list of virgil countries across the world not been affect by Ebola yet.

PoliticsSCANDALOUS: Outrage In Nigeria As Government Brands National ID Card With Master by oskaaay(op): 3:20pm On Aug 29, 2014
The new Nigerian National Identity Cards launched Thursday by President Goodluck Jonathan, with branded logo of the American firm, MasterCard, have sparked outrage across the country amid fears of serious security and economic breach, with many Nigerians calling for an immediate stoppage of the deal.
Nigerians expressed shock and fury Thursday at how the Nigerian Government, through the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, would surrender a symbol of national sovereignty and pride to a foreign commercial organisation by not only sharing the biometrics of 170 million Nigerian to the firm but by also allowing the firm to boldly engrave its insignia on the IDs.

Many Nigerians raised the alarm over the implications of the agreement in an age that has seen intense data surveillance by the National Security Agency of the United States of America, Mastercard’s home country.

One commentator said allowing MasterCard’s emblem on the Nigerian National ID Card could only compare to the trans-Atlantic slave trade abolished in the nineteenth century.

“The new ID card with a MasterCard logo does not represent an identity of a Nigerian. It simply represents a stamped ownership of a Nigerian by an American company,” said Shehu Sani of the Civil Rights Congress. “It is reminiscent of the logo pasted on the bodies of African salves transported across the Atlantic.”

At the launching Thursday, the Nigerian Identity Management Commission said the cards, designed to also allow handlers effect payments and other financial transactions, will be issued to 13 million Nigerians.

At the completion of the pilot phase of the program, 100 million cards would have been issued, the commission said, describing the move as the “broadest financial inclusion program in Africa”.

The cards will be issued to Nigerians, 16 years and older, and are expected to serve as voting cards in the 2019 elections.

President Jonathan, who flagged off the rollout, praised the outcome of a partnership between NIMC, MasterCard and Access Bank.

“The card is not only a means of certifying your identity, but also a personal database repository and payment card, all in your pocket,” Mr. Jonathan said.
Under the partnership, the NIMC is the project leader, MasterCard provides payments technology, while Unified Payment Services Limited is payments processor. Cryptovision is the Public Key Infrastructure and Trust Services Provider, and the pilot issuing bank is Access Bank Plc.

The Identity Management Commission said it was working with other government agencies to harmonize all identity databases including the Driver’s License, Voter Registration, Health Insurance, Tax, SIM and the National Pension Commission into a single, shared services platform.

For a National ID card project jinxed for decades due to corruption and mismanagement, Nigerians welcomed what seemed like a breakthrough this time, several years after the first attempt at a national Identity Card project ended in fiasco.

But the optimism waned after it became clear Thursday the new ID cards, a key instrument recognised by the federal constitution, will not only bear the Coat of Arms and the Nigerian colours of green white green, but also the logo of MasterCard, a profit-driven private entity.

“Nigeria’s colours and coast of arms is what should be there. It is not an opportunity for advert for promoting companies,” said Eze Onyekpere, Lead Director Centre for Social Justice. “As far as we are concerned it cannot stand. It is not worth it if that’s what they have done.”

Beyond national pride, many Nigerians spoke of the dire economic and security implications for Nigeria.

“Clearly, there are National Security implication,” said Nasir El-Rufai, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. “All these data go to the American payment platform.”

Mr. El-Rufai recalled that Malaysia was the first country to implement a general multipurpose ID card and that the country did so with its own resources and technology to protect its citizens.

Economically, analysts say, the deal also hands over all adult Nigerians as direct and compulsory customers of MasterCard.

The US-based firm appeared so elated at the outcome of the contract that by Thursday, it hired a media consultant, African Media Agency, to publicise the landmark deal all over the world.

MasterCard could not be reached immediately for comments.

Details of the partnership between the NIMC and MasterCard were unclear as of Friday.
A former senior government official, well briefed about the process, said the Nigerian government may have adopted the Public Private Partnership model for the project, with MasterCard underwriting part of the cost of the deal.

Speech by Hon. Justice Kutigi, Chairman National Conference at the submission of 2014 National Conference Report to President Jonathan, in Abuja

HON. JUSTICE IDRIS LEGBO KUTIGI, GCON, FNIALS, FCIArb, FNJI, (FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA)

CHAIRMAN, NATIONAL CONFERENCE

AT THE

SUBMISSION OF 2014 NATIONAL CONFERENCE REPORT

HELD IN ABUJA, NIGERIA

21 August, 2014

Protocol

Mr. President, when you inaugurated the 2014 National Conference on 17 March, 2014, we knew that we were taking on a tough assignment. If truth be told, most Nigerians did not believe that this whole enterprise was going to last this long or come to a successful conclusion.

2. Yet, Mr. President, here we are five months later at a ceremony to mark the successful execution of our mandate.

3. It is not that we lasted this long that is newsworthy; but that we overcame all the obstacles in our way.

4. Mr. President, when 494 Nigerians are assembled to address the fears, disappointments, aspirations and hopes which have accumulated over one hundred years, it is only to be expected that the debates would be robust; and indeed the debates were robust. It was only to be expected that tempers would fly; and tempers did fly.

5. Mr. President, we did not try to ignore or bury our differences. We addressed these differences while respecting the dignity of those holding these differences and sought to construct solutions which would become building blocks for a just and stable nation.

6. Mr. President, we approved over 600 resolutions; some dealing with issues of law, issues of policy and issues of constitutional amendments. These resolutions did not deal with frivolous or inconsequential issues. We showed courage in tackling substantial and fundamental issues.

7. Mr. President, time will not permit me to list all the critical and fundamental resolutions adopted. But let me emphasize this: all our resolutions were adopted by consensus. Not once did we have to vote or come to a division. This is a message that we wish the world to hear loud and clear. Nigerians are capable of not only discussing their differences but are also capable to coming up with solutions to these difficulties.

8. Mr. President, the magnitude of what we have done is reflected in our Report and Annexures of 22 volumes of approximately 10,335 (ten thousand, three hundred and thirty-five) pages. Mr. President, the official Report of the 2014 National Conference was also adopted unanimously.

9. In the post-independence history of Nigeria, there have been four Conferences, including this 2014 National Conference. However, Mr. President, our own task has been the most arduous. The following statistics graphically illustrates this. The 1978 Constituent Assembly had a membership of 230 people and met for 9 months. The 1995 National Constitutional Conference had a membership of 371 people and met for twelve (12) months. The 2005 National Political Reform Conference was made up of 400 delegates and met for 5 months. We are 494 in membership and you made us do all this work in 4½ months.

10. Lasting Impression:

On behalf of the delegates to the 2014 National Conference, I thank you for your courage in summoning this Conference. We have finally laid to rest the apprehension that a National Conference will lead to the disintegration of Nigeria. We have held a National Conference and we are more united today than ever.

11. Let me state here categorically and with the fear of Almighty Allah in my heart, that not once did you interfere or dictate to us in the course of this Conference. The only time we tried to consult the President during the conflict over voting percentages at the very beginning of the Conference we were told that the issue was for us to resolve. At no time after that did you meet with us or speak to us.

12. I also wish to thank my fellow members of the Conference Management and Conference delegates for the vibrant, even if at times turbulent, cooperation in ensuring a successful Conference.

13. I thank especially the former and present Administrator of the National Judicial Institute and their staff for their contribution to the success of this 2014 National Conference. Mr. President, let it be on record that all these facilities were turned over to us with less than 12hrs notice.

14. I thank all of you who have responded positively by accepting our invitation to attend this closing ceremony. Your presence has added gravitas to this ceremony.

15. At this juncture, I want to convey to the National Assembly, the greatest respect of all members of the 2014 National Conference. We accept that the National Assembly has a pivotal role to play in ensuing that the Conference Report translates into law.

16. Mr. President, please permit me to pay tribute to four of our delegates who died during the pendency of the Conference. Barrister Hamma Misau who died on March 27; Dr. Mohammad Jumare who died on May 5; Professor Dora Akunyili, on June 7; and Professor Mohammad Nur Alkali, on August 1, 2014. May their souls rest in peace.

17. Finally, Mr. President, let me on behalf of all of us thank the Secretary to Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, GCON, who went beyond the call of duty in virtually turning over all the facilities of Government to assist this Conference.

18. And now on behalf of the 2014 National Conference and the people of Nigeria, I hereby present to your Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 21 Volumes of the Report of the 2014 National Conference. Here, Mr. President is the Main Report and on that table are the remaining 19 Volumes of supporting documents.

Thank you.

TravelMalaysia Airlines Flight Mh370:Pilot Killed Passengers,Sank Plane Intact-EXPERTS by oskaaay(op): 7:18pm On Aug 20, 2014
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah is the man responsible for the plane’s baffling disappearance, brilliantly executing a sinister plot to prove his superior aviation skills by ensuring that the Boeing 777-200 would never be found. Those are the conclusions of Ewan Wilson, an aviator, accident investigator and founder of Kiwi Airlines, who conducted an independent, four-month study of the Malaysia Airlines mystery.

“Ahmad Shah was a man known for his methodical, thorough nature, for his love of the technical, and probably for his ego, too,” said Wilson, whose findings are detailed in his new book, Goodnight Malaysian 370: The Truth Behind The Loss Of Flight 370. “This would have been his final sad act to his family and to the world: ‘find this one.’”

Wilson says he and co-author Geoff Taylor investigated “every conceivable alternative scenario” before arriving at the shocking conclusions in the book, in which he argues that Shah locked his co-pilot out of the cockpit then deliberately murdered all 239 people on board by depressurizing the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 cabin, which would have deprived everyone on board of oxygen.

While oxygen masks would have automatically dropped, Wilson acknowledges, he says that with many of the passengers asleep they may not have been aware of the masks, which provide only about 20 minutes worth of oxygen anyway.

But Shah, described by Wilson as mentally ill, put his twisted plan into effect a full four hours before finally ditching the Malaysia Airlines plane in the Indian Ocean, the independent New Zealand investigator says.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished from radar and ground contact during an otherwise routine March 8 flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing, China. But despite a multimillion dollar search involving numerous countries, not a single trace of the plane or scrap of debris has turned up.

Wilson says he has a solution to that mystery as well. After killing everyone on board, Shah either re-pressurized the cabin or survived on is own, more plentiful oxygen supply for the final four hours.
https://prowlingeagles.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Malaysia-missing-airline-picture2.jpg
At that time, Wilson says, Shah landed the plane on the surface of the Indian Ocean in what Wilson calls a “controlled ditching,” similar to that executed by US Airways pilotChelsey “Sully” Sullenberger on the surface of the Hudson River in New York in 2009.
But instead of attempting to save the Malaysia Airlines plane, Shah simply allowed the Boeing 777 to sink to the bottom of the ocean in one piece — leaving no debris or evidence, Wilson says.

“We could never have foreseen the information we uncovered, or their implications,” Wilson says. “Neither could we have imagined the horrific scenario that our research suggests took place on board that

A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, has dumped the opposition All Progressives Congress [APC] and joined the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].
Mr. Ribadu was the presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria [ACN] in 2011 and until his defection today considered one of the presidential prospects of the APC in the 2015 presidential election.

A member of the executive committee of the PDP in Bako, Mr. Ribadu’s ward in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa state, told PREMIUM TIMES that the anti-corruption chief has been registered as a member of the party and given a party membership card.
The source asked not to be named because he was not authorised to disclose the development to journalists.

A PREMIUM TIMES report had detailed how the PDP leadership led by the party’s national chairman, Adamu Muazu, mounted pressure on Mr. Ribadu to join the party and be its candidate for the October 11 governorship election in Adamawa.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has already released a timetable for an election being organised to replace former Governor Murtala Nyako who was impeached by the State Assembly last month.

- The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.

- Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.

- Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.

- Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill
from the Ebola virus or their body fluids.

- Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.

- The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.

- A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.

- Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).

- If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.

- There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.

- You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.

- There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.

- As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person
