Ibadan elite wish me dead - Adedibu By Stephen Gbadamosi Tuesday, May 13, 2008 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Oyo State, Chief Lamidi Adedibu, has accused Ibadan elite, who fell out with the PDP, of wishing him dead. There had been media reports lately that the 80-year-old politician's health was failing. But Adedibu, at a press conference addressed at his Molete, Ibadan-home, said the reports were all fabricated by agents of aggrieved members of the party, who, he said, were basically from Ibadan. "Those behind the campaign of ill-health are the agents of Ibadan politicians who claim to be in the PDP, but have lost ground. It's Ibadan people who were with me in the PDP before," he said. Chief Adedibu, said he would never resort to treatment abroad for any ailment, adding that he would not leave Nigeria until the Appeal Court had given its ruling on the appeal filed by the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) governorship candidate, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, against the election petition tribunal ruling that upheld Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala's election in February. "I do not pray to travel abroad for treatment of any ailment. It is the same God that is here that is there and He is the one who heals. He created death and there is nowhere death cannot get a human being. I was happy when Gani Fawehinmi returned. There had been roumour of his death too; what do people stand to gain from these? "They reported that I would be rushed abroad; I won't leave this country until after the Appeal Court ruling. It is every June that I go abroad for my holiday. I am going this June and my lieutenants will follow me because we will be celebrating Appeal Court victory then," Adedibu said. The politician, who said he called the conference to show himself to the world as a proof that he was of sound health, disclosed that it was Governor Alao-Akala that prevailed on him to go to the Lagos private hospital when his doctors advised him to rest, adding that it was not true that he and the Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, quarrelled over N2 million medical bill. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/may/13/607.html |
I support the adoption of pidgin english 100%, afterall that's the only language spoken and undertsood by about 70% of Nigerians. What else do we need? |
Don't they snap masqurades in Naija? |
You can't judge them. God is the ultimate judge and you are no different from any of them if you sit there and judge them. |
We should be celebrating this decision.Abiooo, what other country in the world have you heard that a street will be blocked because of a freaking party? I know the likes of Okoya will soon hit the brickwall because he's the number one culprit here. |
Are you like coming up with worse case scenarios or what? Am not going to date either oneHe's talking of a genius here. I will definitely want a genius even if he looks like a monkey. |
Lol @thank God for hell fire. Do you have assurance they'll be punished there? |
So you see, the fun element would still be very much intact! The bastardization of the female gender is so evident here. Women are not intimacy gadgets or yuour fun element, rather women are humans like you with body and spirit. |
Out of curiosity, what do you think is the worst sentence "Hang im by his balls or his weenie"?Maximum, they'll give him 2 years. It's drug offence and rape that carry stiff sentences. |
TatooBoy and Ibkaye, |
hotfunmi probably has nonexistent boobs - thats why she's on about this - she has to do outrageouis things to get fellas' attention (unlike more enodwed members of her gender).Blessed are those who did not see but yet believe. |

Iyabo sighted at Obasanjo's hilltop mansion By Olusola Balogun (Lagos) and Adetutu Folasade-Koyi (Abuja) Runaway Senate Health Committee Chairperson, Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, who is diving and docking from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is hiding in Abeokuta. She has taken temporary abode at the Hilltop mansion of her father, former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Iyabo abandoned her duties in the Senate following the decision of the EFCC to arraign her over the diversion of N300 million unspent budget of the Health Ministry. She admitted collecting N10 million from the loot. The EFCC wants her to return the money, but she says she has spent it on matters pertaining to the committee's work. Attempts by the EFCC to arraign her along with others have failed. However, a source confirmed that Iyabo "is hiding in Abeokuta at her father's house. She is at the Hilltop mansion. She has been in the place for over two weeks, and is always on the phone, and reading newspapers." The mansion, on the prestigious Millionaires' Estate, was built in the twilight of Obasanjo's administration. The estate is located at the back of the popular Ibara Housing Estate, sitting atop two plots in an area conceptualised by former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba. The Hilltop, said to have an underground bunker, was commissioned last December with a carol service. Iyabo has been absent from Senate plenary for three weeks in a row. The Rules and Business Committee had served notice on Tuesday that she would present the report of the Health Committee on the National Health Bill. However, on Wednesday, the Order Paper credited the presentation of the report to her deputy, Gyang Dantong. No reason was given for her absence. Rules and Business Committee Chairman, Aloysius Etok, explained that Iyabo's absence would not affect proceedings since "the Committee on Health is not made up of (her) alone. There are other members. Whether or not she is around, the committee work goes on. The committee has laid the report and it will be debated tomorrow (today)." However, feelers from the Upper chambers indicated that the embattled Senator risks sanction over her continued absence from duty. Section 63 of the 1999 Constitution stipulates that, "the Senate and the House of Representatives shall each sit for a period of not less than one hundred and eighty-one days in a year." The Constitution also provides that a member risks recall if he does not show up within 60 days. Obasanjo-Bello was last seen in the Senate Chambers on April 15. A ranking senator who declined to be named noted that Obasanjo-Bello is expected to attend to legislative duties within a specified number of days, failing which the seat could be declared vacant. "Constitutionally, she is required, just like any other legislator, to sit for a number of days. It's only when she fails to show up on those specified number of days that the seat is jeopardised. Also, don't forget that there is a register which details attendance of each member. "Again, Section 69 stipulates that, "a member of the Senate or of the House Representatives may be recalled as such a member if - (a) there is presented to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission a petition in that behalf signed by more than one-half of the persons registered to vote in that member's constituency alleging their loss of confidence in that member; and; (b) the petition is thereafter, in a referendum conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission within ninety days of the date of receipt of the petition, approved by a simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that member's constituency." Regardless, Section 68 (1) (f) of the Constitution stipulates the tenure of seat of either a Senator or member of the House of Representatives. The section also stipulates the number of days a member could be absent from legislative duties. It states that a member would vacate his seat if "without just cause he is absent from meetings of the House of which he is a member for a period amounting in the aggregate to more than one-third of the total number of days during which the House meets in any one year." But another National Assembly source argued that Obasanjo-Bello has not flouted any known rule of the Senate. "There is no rule which says that a member cannot be absent from Senate duties. I believe that she is not absent without a cogent reason. She will appear in due course." |
Well different strokes; i will defintely choose these to fry pan ass!Lol; fry pan ass. |
Oh please, forgive my frustration but EFCC could go jump into a ditch for all i care. People should stop being fooled by all the noise and no action and EFCC should just shut up unless they are ready to actually genuinely do anything. Can anyone please name one politician that is in jail today because of EFCC or ICPC or whatever cc? Is Ibori in jail? After all the hoopla that was caused and the noise and importance of the fact that Yardaua was in the states when this was going on and all that jazz, is he in jail? What about Odilli? Is the armed robber in jail? Has OBJ even been investigated despite that fact that his name seems to come up in every corrupt transaction being discovered? What about Igbenidion? All the noise that was made and what has happened? What about Iyabo? A whole senator people, a whole senator who has even been reported as turning up for work, and they can't "find" her? After the whole trial of Alams what happened? The trial took so long while he relaxed comfortably that by the time it was all over, they let him go because he had apparently "served" his time during the trial fiasco. So i ask you people please, unless i am missing something, which public thief is in jail today as a result of the EFCC? This government is actually adding insult to injury when they continue talking about this non existent rule of law as business as usual continues.5 star response |
