Politics / Re: Other Nigerian Rapists Strike. . . . . by otawa: 7:33am On May 14, 2010
A Nigerian-born doctor, Dr. Adaobi Stella Udeozor, a resident of Darnestown, Maryland, U.S.A. has been sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison and fined for keeping a domestic slave. She was ordered to pay restitution of $110,249 to her 23-year-old victim for her labor and would be deported after serving her prison term. Udeozor was convicted of conspiracy and harboring an alien for financial gain in 2004 by a federal court jury of nine women and three men. Her husband, George, evaded trial by fleeing to Nigeria, leaving her wife to face charges alone.
The victim had been taken from her family in Nigeria in 1996 when she was 14 under the false belief that she was being adopted by the Udeozors and would attend school in the U.S., according to evidence presented in federal court. The girl was then smuggled into the United States by George using his own daughter’s American passport. In the United States, the victim was raped by George and abused by his wife, Dr. Udeozor, according to the victim and prosecutors.

Dr. Udeozor operated the Optimum Care Medical Clinic, where she also used the victim for slave labor in addition to using her as nanny and domestic slave at home, according to court records. The Udeozors have six children.

The unidentified victim was taken from the Udeozor home in 2001 after she reported the abusive behavior to the police, The case was referred to the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement who arrested Dr. Udeozor at her home in 2004.

On Tuesday at a U.S. federal court presided by US District Judge Peter J Messitte, the young victim said, "I want to make Stella pay the price for what she did to me." Stella Udeozor told the court she did nothing wrong. Judge Messitte disagreed with her, sentencing her to seven years and three months in federal prison. Messitte told her although she may come from a culture that allowed the kind of behavior for which she was convicted, there was no room for it in the U.S.

George Udeozor has been arrested in Nigeria and is awaiting extradition. He is charged with rape in addition to the offenses that his wife was charged.

Politics / Govt Immortalises Yar'adua by otawa: 10:26am On May 13, 2010
THE Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday held a valedictory session for the late President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, with the Federal Government announcing the naming of the ever-busy Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road, currently under reconstruction to a 10-lane highway and the Katsina International Airport after the late President.

I wonder what Yaradua did to be immortalised.

anyway, the drama continues.

The rogues in power will continue to loot and loot and loot because they know the worst that will come out of it will either be a little media coverage or a slap on the wrist (e.g Alams,Bode George and Lucky Igbinedion). Look at the likes of IBB and Obasanjo.

Gbosa!!!
Politics / Re: Foreign Lenders Shun Independent Power Projects by otawa: 12:51am On May 13, 2010
Inability of some private entities granted licences for Independent Power Plants (IPPs) to obtain loans from international lending institutions has stalled the take-off of the power projects.

why should this be a news.

Mr Obasanjo already spent $16billion and no result.

The 'institutions' dont want to put their money in 'bottomless pit'

Politics / Re: Olu Obansanjo - The Greatest Evil To Befall The Nigerian State by otawa: 12:08am On May 09, 2010
God Bless Gen. Olusegun Mathew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo

The man is an institution unto himself, Nigeria is safer with him.

CRAP.

Mr Obasanjo is the man that WIPED-OUT a whole Village of ODI.
If you family were from that village, you wont write such crap.

Mr Obasanjo sold Bakassi people to slavery because of Third Term.
Compare with UK that went to WAR to keep Falklands which is 6000km away from UK. Same falklands is yielding oil money now to UK.

Mr Obasanjo is the FIRST president in Nigeria history to spend $16billion on electricity and the result was MORE DARKNESS to hapless people of Nigeria.

Mr Obasanjo is the worst thing to happen to Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Harvard Hires Segun Adeniyi by otawa: 4:28pm On May 08, 2010
Adeniyi is just a professional doing his job!

indeed.

surely if it was DONKEY Mr Obasanjo selected in 2007, Adeniyi would have worked for this DONKEY.

And you will be here telling us that he is doing his job.

What a CRAP of a job.
Politics / Re: Ibori Escapes To Venezuela by otawa: 4:22pm On May 08, 2010

In the mean time the politician on the run has been described as the masquerade behind the recent wave of reports now been referred to as the Halliburton ‘s Okiro report

And we never ask why Mr Obasanjo, the man that wiped-out ODI Village still walking free in Nigeria.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Us Says It Has 5,113 Nuclear Weapons by otawa: 8:50pm On May 07, 2010
This may be ironic and bizarre, but I feel safer with Russia and the USA having thousands of Nuclear head weapons, than say a nation like Iran, Syria or those fanatic nation like NK.

indeed.

History also told us that USA is only country to have drop nuclear bomb on hapless Japanese people.

History also told us that USA is the country that wiped-out a nation of people: the red indians.

"When we got down, my brother, I was shaken. Imagine how this country could have lost between 90 to 100 prominent people in an air crash. It could have been the worst in the history of this country

Politics / "the Papers Say You Are Dead. Umaru! Are You Dead?" Mr Obasanjo by otawa: 5:27pm On May 07, 2010
Rewind back to 2007:

At a rally days after, the outgoing President Olusegun Obasanjo called the man he had personally picked to succeed him in his hospital room and, holding the microphone to the telephone, bellowed: "The papers say you are dead. Umaru! Are you dead?

Now that Umoru is gone, may his soul rest in peace.

If Mr Obasanjo had presented a DONKEY in 2007, Nigerians would have accepted it.

Sadly, Nigerians still have not learn any serious lesson from these issues.
