Another deception; Onitsha alone will consume the 260MW and still have large areas in darkness so how come they are saying Nnewi and other areas?

Vice Chancellors in Nigerian Federal universities serve for just one term of 5 years and go; truth be told - he that is a bad and inept leader is a bad and inept leader be it 1 year or 1000 years.

Education › Re: Covenant University: Accounting Student Graduates With 4.99 GPA by otokx(m): 5:02pm On Jul 27, 2011
There are many dimensions to these whole thing but i will talk on only 1 which is the method of computation of Cumulative Grade Point Average.

The way universities compute their CGPA these days in Nigeria leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Some of them do not permit you to fail a course so if you get F in first semester Yr 1 and do it again in first semester Yr 2 and get an A they will replace the F in first semester Yr 1. What is in vogue now is to churn out more first classes lets say out of 5000 you can get 20 and then brag that your university is the best because you have 20 first class that Ife, Ibadan or Zaria are not in your class but we know better.

When companies do their job tests many of these wonderful first classes cannot pass and if you waive it for them to go straight to interview stages they still cannot perform. The decay in Nigeria is going to catch up with us in the long run; its not like foreign universities are so much better. A colleague of mine came for his project work here from the UK and the whole thing was just shambolic to say the least.

The way to correct all these BOLLOCKS is to subject all graduates to an aptitude test and if you pass then do an interview and see how they perform. You will be amazed at what you see.

University of Maiduguri did the sensible thing and other citizens should follow suit; life first before you can live. They should get out of that town and get away from the violence in it. Boko Haram will find it difficult to operate in a town where no human being resides except the soldiers.

Mediocrity is in great abundance in Nigeria especially the Niger Delta area; was it not when our youth went to Abuja for the million man ABACHA that their eyes were open? Apart from the Choba - Rumokwuta, one of the others one can point hand to is the Tam David West boulevard that runs from Choba - Rumokwuta up to Airport. To think GEJ came and commissioned a road that is not near functional speaks volumes of the deceit. The primary health centers; have you verified if any one is functional? currently in use. The glorious model primary schools could have been much better like massive four stories but we settled for something people clap hands and say ODILI did nothing. Small brain is affecting a lot of us and its because we are not exposed.

Once the army is involved this is what happens; ask the people of ODI, OGONI or even my friends in CHOBA; you guys have not seen anything yet. In CHOBA when mopol came from benue state to protect wilbros the entire village was sacked, they all migrated to Aluu, Rumualogu, Alakahia and Emohua. Anything that moved was shot at and destroyed. People who unknowingly took that part of the CHOBA road to go to the metropolis when they got to the check point they were sent to meet their maker and their left over belongings inherited by the soldiers. As for ODI they just blocked two sides of the east west road, moved in the tanks and artilery together with massive air power - they leveled the place down so do not expect anything less in Maiduguri.

Happy to note that people are finally speaking up; AMAECHI in himself may mean well and he does speak frankly most times but the system is just too bad. The new games village that was used for the sports festival we hear is no where near half complete, most of the model schools are not in use, same for the famous two hundred and something clinics. Choba - Rumokwuta road is a sad reminder of the reality of the insanity; a new road that is not complete that is already being patched by the original contractor that built the road. AMAECHI should order those guys to do a total resurfacing of the entire stretch of the road. Contractors who collect money up front and runaway should be taking to court and then banned for life from ever doing such roads; when i say ban it should be done on the directors of the company because most times they just go and reincorporate another company and its the same old looters. He should take a cue from Akwa Ibom that gave all its roads to Julius Berger and till tomorrow the governor can beat his chest even in his worst nightmare.

I have been shouting all along till my voice took a leave.
What is the point in reawarding roads that were termed completed by the past administration?

What is the point having GEJ come to commission that new airport dual carriage road when its only the airport end that is complete and that is by one lane only? By the time you drive 1 km on that road you will know that in the next 2 years that road will not be completed.

What is the point awarding roads to so called indigenious contractors who have no idea on what to do?

Where do i start from? Apart from Aba road and few portions of Ikwerre road name one new road that is good in Port Harcourt.

God bless you when it rains in the metropolis, if you do not have a jeep then sorry.

The road that is being redone by RCC appears to be a good job but what is the completion time? The inhabitants of that area have traumatized for so long a time (4 years) in the name of road construction.

The 202 or so primary health centers was a novel plan but are they functional? The idea was for the doctors to stay in the quarters behind so that the citizens can receive prompt care.
