See as people just dey concoct orishirishi concoctions. Seeking medical advice from nairaland will only confuse you the more. Guy, just go to any teaching hospital to see a consultant dermatologist. A solution only seems like a herculian task simply because u haven't gotten the right medications. U can also go back to that dermatologist at general hospital cos it may just be that u need a stronger version of that drug you were prescribed. |

obidevine: Hi Nairalanders , I need some mature responses .
Anytime I and my wife have a quarrel or a verbal altercation she tends to remove her ring for a few days.
Please what could this mean or how do I address this. It really gets me thinking. oga, sit her down and give her this stern warning: next time you remove your wedding band because of an argument, you must be ready to follow through by leaving my house. Tell her family to expect their daughter back if such repeats itself. I don't have patience for adult children. |

stupidity: Been asking this bae out and she finally agreed to go out with me today on the condition she’ll come along with her friend. I said no wahala.
I got to TFC before them and they came in 2 minutes later. We ordered drinks at first and chit chat a little, then ordered something to eat. All these while they were snapping photos like they some kind of celebrity. As we were about to leave, I asked if they wanted take away. One of of them suggested shawarma, the other girl said same but she doesn’t want “hotdog” included.
Her reason, hotdog is made of dog meat!! .
Then the argument started. This babe nor wan gree, she said she’s very sure it’s made of dog meat and if she mistakenly eat hotdog, boil will catch her in her armpit. And to make matters worse she didn’t keep her voice low. All eyes were on us and laughing as well.
This same babe is using an iPhone with a valid subscription which she was prolly using for Instagram and the likes.
Finally told her to go on google and do a search. At first she refused. Said she knows what she’s saying, later she did the search and still wasn’t convinced. Even before we left there, she stood her ground. Hotdog is made of dog meat. God give u revelation about the vacuum head wey u u wan dey follow. Dey dia dey argue instead make you run. |

Whether campaign strategy or not, glad they've finally started fixing that road. That route has degraded to the point that even walking down the road is frustrating, not to talk of driving. However, it would be mediocre of us to start applauding the govt for fulfilling its basic responsibilities. It still remains an embarassiment that we allow such important facilities to degenerate to such a deplorable level before measures are taken for repairs. Those that need to be voted out still need to be voted out. |

There is an overwhelming surge of old and mutilated naira notes in circulation. Obviously, there has been a drop in generation or circulation of new notes for months now. Instead for someone to be held accountable for this or instead of them telling us the real motive behind this, we the people have been given the task of reminding the banks to do their jobs. Smh!! |

This is a lazy mans way of attempting to curb the drug abuse problem in nigeria. It is foolish thinking to believe those that are addicted to codeine would simply just stop abusing drugs when they dont have access to it. There are too many alternatives to codeine to think simply banning the drug or closing down the manufacturing companies would make any impact. It won't even cause a dent in the problem.Tramadol abuse is a far greater problem than codeine. Its a prescription only drug, same as codeine, yet getting it is almost as easy as buying paracetamol. Also, drugs like codeine and tramadol have overwhelming medicinal values and has saved alot more lives than its abuse has damaged. A sane govt would focus on why we have a drug abuse problem in the first place and not the symptoms of the problem. What they are doing now is likeable to using paracetamol to treat malaria instead of antimalaria medications. We have a long way to go |

Proudlyngwa: Wrong move.
They should have allowed this to cool down before making a statement. Except the so-called sales rep has been heavily settled or threatened, He will damage Emzors reputation beyond recognition.
Such high level acts, don't go without the involvements of factory workers, managers and security personnels in the company.
That being said, cough medicine is an over the counter drugs and it is not illegal. The BBC should not come and cause a storm where there is none, There are people who are addicted to paracetamol, a lot of British youths get wasted on nitrous oxide which is not illegal.
The sales rep might have been doing illegal transactions but he never sold anything illegal. u obviously do not understand how potentially damaging the issue can be to their reputation. A sales rep of a reputable pharmaceutical company being caught on camera essentially drug dealing using their own pruducts? It would have be stupid and irresponsible of them to not respond swiftly. They would have being ruined by negative press and their competitors would have gladly sponsored and fueled the media outrage. At least now, they can claim ignorance and their prompt action against the sales rep can be used to reassure the public of their reputation. |

udemzy101: Depends on the person teaching him, you don't need to spend up to 2years or even 1year before you can know how to repair this things.
It's just Nigeria thing where oga will tell you to sign for 2years or so just because most of this oga's don't teach theory most of them do trial and error and when they get the cause, then if such fault arise they head straight to that place to repair.
It shouldn't be so, take for instance, as a laptop chip level engineer, some engineer believe when this problem arises then this is the problem, they head straight to the place to fix it and some times it might not be the problem. You need to trace from birth place, with a schematic diagram to help you trace fault well.
I see a lot of nigerian oga's them do trial and error especially in engineering stuff.
My advice to op is, he should learn from someone that have more customers, the more customers you have the more problem you solve and the more you learn.
And try to upgrade yourself, don't always depend on your boss for information. You don't need to spend 2years to know this stuff. absolutely agree with this. However, the reality is its very unlikely to see a mechanic that trained for less than 2 years. Many will even say 2 years is too short to learn the skills. Many will tell the aspiring apprentice its 2 years but will eventually extend it for longer claiming he has not leant enough just to exploit him. There are good masters but they are very few when compared with the majority. |

It really isnt a bad idea to think outside the box but have you considered the time required to graduate from this type of apprenticeship? I know mechanics train for many years before their freedom. I suggest you consider other hand works you can learn in a relatively short period of time e. g Tailoring, making shoes, e. T. C which u can pick up in one year. With commitment and a creative eye, u will surely blow cos your crafts alone will advertise themselves. |
