My opinion? You are free to research. I am very busy and should not even be replying. If I had the time, I could get materials from the Early Christians. You can do that.

And for your information, I am a theologian and a former pastor who pastored for five solid years. I already had a certificate in Church History long before I went to Bible institute and there are some truths I could tell you that would shake your faith.
Are you less busy now?

I'm sorry but all you are saying is just balderdash and uninformed theories to me unless I can see maybe even a thesis supporting it.

now if you agree this is all speculation from your part however... We can then. discuss it in that light.

The Fulani War
Sokoto Caliphate, 19th century
Uthman Dan Fodio's appeal to justice and morality rallied the outcasts of Hausa society. He found his followers among the Fulbe and Fulani. The Fulbe and Fulani were primarily cattle pastoralists. These pastoralist communities were led by the clerics living in rural communities who were Fulfude speakers and closely connected to the pastoralists. The Fulani would later hold the most important offices of the new states. Hausa peasants, runaway slaves, itinerant preachers, and others also responded to Uthaman's preaching. His jihad served to integrate a number of peoples into a single religio-political movement. [14]
In 1802, Yunfa , the ruler of Gobir and one of dan Fodio's students, turned against him, revoking Degel's autonomy and attempting to assassinate dan Fodio. Dan Fodio and his followers declared hijrah and fled into the western grasslands of Gudu, where they turned for help to the local Fulani nomads. Uthman's followers at this time entitled him Amir al-Mu'minin and
sarkin muslim - head of the Muslim community. The rulers of Gobir forbade Muslims to wear turbans and veils, prohibited conversions, and ordered converts to Islam to return to their old religion. [15] In his book Tanbih al-ikhwan ’ala ahwal al-Sudan (“ Concerning the Government of Our Country and Neighboring Countries in the Sudan ”) Usman wrote: “The government of a country is the government of its king without question. If the king is a Muslim, his land is Muslim; if he is an unbeliever, his land is a land of unbelievers. In these circumstances it is obligatory for anyone to leave it for another country”. [16] Usman did exactly this when he left Gobir in 1802. Yunfa then turned for aid to the other leaders of the Hausa states, warning them that dan Fodio could trigger a widespread jihad. [17]
Usman dan Fodio was proclaimed Amir al-Muminin or Commander of the Faithful in Gudu. This made him a political as well as religious leader, giving him the authority to declare and pursue a jihad, raise an army and become its commander. A widespread uprising began in Hausaland. This uprising was largely composed of the Fulani, who held a powerful military advantage with their cavalry. It was also widely supported by the Hausa peasantry, who felt over-taxed and oppressed by their rulers. Usuman started the jihad against Gobir in 1804.
At the time of the war Fulani communications were carried along trade routes and rivers draining into the
Niger - Benue valley, as well as the delta and the lagoons. The call for jihad reached not only other Hausa states such as Kano , Daura , Katsina, and
Zaria , but also Borno, Gombe ,
Adamawa , Nupe, and Ilorin. These were all places with major or minor groups of Fulani alims .
By 1808 Uthman had defeated the rulers of Gobir , Kano , Katsina, and other Hausa Kingdoms . He expanded territory south of Lake Chad and into Nupe and Yorubaland as far as the forest zone. [18] After only a few years of the Fulani War , Dan Fodio found himself in command of the largest state in Africa, the Fulani Empire. His son Muhammed Bello and his brother Abdullahi carried on the jihad and took care of the administration. Dan Fodio worked to establish an efficient government grounded in Islamic law. After 1811, Usman retired and continued writing about the righteous conduct of the Muslim religion.

Look no further than your Bible.

Why did Peter only eat with the Gentiles when there are no representatives of the Jerusalem Church around?

What was the implicit outcome of the faceoff between Peter and Paul?

If Peter only ate with the Gentiles whenever he was alone with them, is that not enough proof that the Apostles were wary of Paul's teachings to the Gentiles so much so that they couldn't even eat with them?

Like I wrote, there are no evidence that they endorsed Paul's writing.
OK, just so we are clear, this is just your opinion. You have no evidence to back your claims.

OK, bye. have a nice day.
Christianity EtcRe: Was Christianity Religion Founded By Jesus Christ Or Apostle Paul ? by Outofsync(m): 11:01am On May 30, 2018
BluntTheApostle:
Like I wrote earlier, there are no evidence of any such endorsement. There is no evidence that Paul was accepted as an Apostle by the Twelve. Paul failed the criteria needed to be an Apostle. However, he claimed to have been personally called to be an Apostle to the Gentiles.

Paul talked about the pillars of the Church giving him full reins to preach to the Gentiles but there are no evidences outside his own letters.

Christ came for the Jews (and not the world) and He sent His disciples (the Twelve) specifically to the Jews. The Apostles were on about keeping the Laws and regarded anyone preaching against keeping the laws as lawless. They tolerated Paul and there are evidence for that in the Bible but there are no evidences that they endorsed his gospel.

Paul led his Christian life Independent of the Twelve. He refused to be mentored by them and never conferred with the Twelve at once. Even in the suspicious 1 Peter 3:15, the supposed writer seemed to endorse Paul but not with all totality. It is like saying, "You are also good, but you are not one of us". There is tolerance in that statement but nothing else. No endorsement.

CC Outofsync
Again I'm asking you for evidence of your claims, a link from a verified source, a quote from a theological authority. Anyone can claim anything

Yes, there were groups that followed the Apostles and the ones that followed Paul (the Pauline Christians).

The ones that followed the Apostles, especially, the Ebonites, were the earliest Christians. "Ebonites" means "the poor" and one could think of them as the Jerusalem Church.

For your second question, the Apostles merely tolerated Paul. They never endorsed his writings. At least, no evidence in the Bible. Or in church history.
do you have any evidence to support this?

I don't know what the Christian view on the matter is... huh
Biblically, the Christian view is that it doesn't really matter as there is no longer any distinction between clean and unclean foods anymore, but then as Nigerians have the innate tendency to take religion to the extreme, accepting Ramadan food in some churches is seen as idol worship.

Okay.
Let me educate you a little, if you will allow yourself to be open minded on this issue.
This is not an issue that we should just sit behind our internet-enabled device and be issuing condemnations anyhow.
At least, before you condemn something, try to understand it.
So let's examine some facts.

Traditionally, before the coming of the colonial masters, there is no culture in Africa that castigated homosexuality. You can check. You can ask questions. Do your research. If your grandfather or great grandfather is alive, you can go and ask him. If there is any person well versed in oral tradition and history in your place, go and ask the person.

African pre-colonial communities had this culture of "live and let live".
As long as the way you were living your life was not infringing on the rights of another person, as long as it doesn't constitute public displays of things that should be kept private, nobody disturbs you, nobody bothers you.
I'm not making this up.
You can ask.

In pre-colonial African communities, there were men who were known to be effeminate and were known to be girly. In some communities, it was reported that these men were also having sex with fellow men. They were still considered part of the community and not banished. There were women who were known to be masculine and manly. There were also individuals in communities who chose not to get married. These people were active and functional members of the community and they were not ostracized.
These are verifiable facts.
Ask around.

The first laws against homosexuality that came into existence in Africa, came with the coming of the white man.
There were no such laws before the white man came.
Now, come to think of it.
It is only when something is existent that you make a law against it.
For example, if you go to a place where they don't know what stealing is, it will be foolish to make any laws there against stealing.
Why?
Because the people there don't know anything about stealing. So the law you make against stealing will be useless.
It's the same thing in this situation.
The white man came with the Bible, saw the prevalence of homosexual behaviors in our communities, they saw that that behavior was countered by their bible and then they made laws against it.
So that is how how legislations against homosexuality in Africa came about.
There was no such laws before the white man.

Following up to the question I asked you earlier, since you said it is a societal problem, condemning it and discouraging it will not make it stop. It has been done several times. People have been killed for it. Yet, you can't stop it.

Apart from religious statutes, there is nothing again anybody has against homosexuality.
Let's assume for the sake of argument that we adhere to the religious principles.
We all know that not everybody in Nigeria is either a Christian or a Muslim.
So does that mean you will use Christian or Islamic standards to make rules that are binding on everybody?
That will be very very wrong and that is why our 1999 constitution is a mess because most of its laws are based on Islamic principles.
And this is the particular reason why countries with heterogeneous groups of people, as in the case of Nigeria, should be secular and not religious.
You don't make laws with religion as the basis.

And if you even choose to hold onto religion. There are several things that religion condemns that people do.
There is no legislation in Nigeria against premarital sex. There is no legislation against child marriages. There is no legislation against adultery. There is no legislation against pornography. Yet all these were condemned in the Bible. But yet we celebrate all these things.
Do you feel that if you don't condemn all these ones and then just choose to condemn homosexuality that God will be very happy with you?
If you see homosexuality as a sin, then even the Bible said that if you a guilty of breaking one part of the law, then you are guilty of breaking all of the law.

Homosexuality used to be seen as a mental disorder in the West before.
They reported how it led people to depression and how it led people to suicide and all of that.
But with time, they began to see a different perspective.
They learnt that it only led people to suicide because with all the legislations they had in place against homosexuality, gay people were feeling depressed and hopeless. They felt like outcasts and felt like they couldn't find their place in the world.
Gradually, as they phased out those legislations, the rate of suicide and depression among gays reduced.
There are studies that show this.
You can check it.

There are several countries of the world where there is some liberalism towards gay people.
Go and check the indices of those countries: economic, health, and so on.
Check their indices and you will see that that they are still progressing and their citizens are living better lives than us.
Then ask yourself, why is it that it is those countries that are intensely religious and have legislations against homosexuality just because they feel they are doing God a favour, why is it that it is those religious countries that have the poorest citizens in the world and have the poorest standard of living for their citizens.

I have tried to reason with you on this issue.
I expect you to go through this post with an open mind and do your own research with an open without prejudice against homosexuality. Just for a moment, forget about how much you hate homosexuality and do the researches I suggested. After you have done so, then tell me what you came up with.
If you actually do this, it will be a triumph for common sense.
But if you choose not do as I suggested, I still won't be surprised because you would be showing the typical Nigerian attitude of I-Know-It-All and that's why we don't progress much.

Shalom.
You labor in vain

Resurrecting a dinosaur is the gigantic mistake Nigerians made in 2015, and whose consequences everyone is still suffering.
Now, the dinosaur is trying to resurrect yet another Extinct dinosaur to once again drain our national resources.

The Ajeokuta Steel is the biggest white white elephant project in the history of the world.
For almost 40 solid years, at the minimum $10b wasted, local and foreign debts invited. Yet not a single steel rollout.

Now, the administration that is the personification of Nepotism, corruption and incompetence wants to resurrect a 40 yr old obselete steel complex in the 21st century.
Performing the same act over and over again while expecting a different outcome is the clinical definition of Insanity.

First of all, steel production is an industry of a bygone era. It is globally competitive that Most countries, even industrialized nations have given up the industry because only few countries have been able to adopt the technological efficiencies needed to produce steel profitably. Even in USA, the most technologically advanced nation, the nation's only major steel producer is on life support , requiring the government's imposition of huge tarrifs on imported steel as it's only hope of survival.

Secondly, the era of government ownership of important industries is long long over. Of course, we forget that our president is a man that time forgot, still stuck in 1978 mental time loop.
In Nigeria we have a federal government that has never been good at anything.

In Nigeria, we are cursed with successive governments that could not and still cannot run a refinery, couldn't run a petrochemical complex, couldn't run an airline, couldn't run a rail line, couldn't run a shipping line, couldn't run a car assembly plant, Can't run a coal mine, couldn't run an Aluminum smeltering plant, can't run airports, can't run a police force, can't protect the citizens from daily massacres, can't even give a citizen a driver's licence within one whole year.

This same federal government wants to revive and run a 40yr old steel complex (that already swallowed more than $10b over the past 40yrs) in this 21st century ? shocked
I can't stop laughing.

One doesn't need to be a prophet to be able to see where this is heading, the mathematically precise inevitable catastrophe that lies in front of this misadventure.
The problem is a total private concession will probably fail, so we have no choice. Which right thinking investor will risk a fortune on such a project

Ajaokuta is just a black hole.

Greetings,
Happy Childrens day.
As you know, childrens are supposedly bundles of joy and other such catchphrases but in reality, in Nigeria, our dependency to worker ratio is too high, essentially, we are a nation with too many mouths to feed, too many children being born without an adequate care plan or even source of income.
It's so common these days to see a woman holding a child, backing another one and still being pregnant yet for one more on the road, looking so haggard and unkempt. Anyone who has passed around Ibadan's Iwo road will know of the legion of Hausa beggar children always looking at you with pitiful eyes, begging you for small change. Sometimes they even grope you, and they are so small it'll be inhumane to push them. off! Recently, I saw a woman who can barely afford to take care of the two children she has, already sporting another pregnancy, I asked how she will take care of her kids, all she could say was God will do it. As if God is a magician!
Uneducated folks aren't restricted to this, there are waves of just fresh female graduates and even undergraduate who just get knocked up like brood mares even when the fella responsible is obviously irresponsible. You'd think they'd be wiser but no, God will do it is all they know!
So many more examples come to the head and I'm sure you've experienced such as well.

so without much Ado, I'm curious, what will it take to fly a strict state enforced control and regulation bill for controls. With forcible abortions and mandatory sterilization for people who has had, say, 6 kids.
