darknetcom:why insult me na? darknetcom:you are out of control, I would let the mods reply you |
Vikkie14:I am sure you can still remember the doctrine of the Nigerian Armed forces, which is "internal peace for regional stability" it would remain like that for a long time to come. Morocco however have been known to sponsor insurgencies in neighboring States during the early days of the Arab Maghreb Union. Oga there are people that are very serious about external security, there are politicians in country that would not rest till their nation is fully protected from any form of external aggression, there are people under the deepest parts of the world's ocean today in submarines waiting to respond to attacks against the motherland, there are those that engage in espionage in seemingly friendly States just to ensure that their nations interests is protected, then there are Nigerians who say "Nigerians are unique set of people that most times wait for the "thing" to happen before finding solution to it." a very foul thing to say for anyone that would at any time be placed in charge of the security of anything. there are people today rethinking scenarios and scenarios of attacks against their nation even from friendly countries, engaging in drills and conventional exercises to ensure they are ready for any type of attack. but you would rather wait till loved ones and family members are being attacked and that would be when you would start the bid to buy Air defense systems to protect your valuable assets, that would be when you would have time to join an experimental weapon program to give you the edge over your attacker. I know a lot of people will support you but it is a very pathetic thing to suggest. during my days in school I learnt that "The Raison de Etat of any Nation is the protection of lived of it citizens by all means necessary." we exist to ensure that we keep existing. if militants were able to deal decisive blows to our old economy ask yourself the damage that a conventional force will do to it. |
frumentius:of course there must be some foreign power backing this nonsense. Morocco in ECOWAS, Morocco being a very strong trade partner with the west would give room for the Nigerian rejected European trade agreement to be signed since a vast majority of ECOWAS state will now stand to benefit from it. Morocco should not even be allowed an observer status in ECOWAS. |
ActivateKruger:that's very true from a realistic perspective. Morocco is friend to Senegal and some other militarily strong ecowas state, letting them into ECOWAS would be like creating a bloc within a bloc. although I know Nigeria would let them in for Economic reason even when we know that the Moroccans just need us not to raise our hands during any vote for Saharawi statehood like we did with Palestine. Morocco in ECOWAS would "greatly" reduce Nigeria' military influence in the bloc. morocco have never show faithfulness or respect for regional framework, she chiefly use them to achieve her goals and abandon them, that is why you see Morocco and Algeria having strained relationship even within the ARAB MAGHREB UNION, the question Nigerian leaders should be asking now should be? what if we cannot support Morocco' interest while in ecowas would that spell the end of ecowas because nations like Morocco her known to destroy regional frameworks by creating diverse blocs. anybody know anything about the Monrovia bloc or the casablanca bloc? during the PRE- OAU formation days. |
jakeporeshenko:hey Jake watsup. Hope you good ![]() |
Seened:cute. You guys can just go rub each other off Somewhere |
I have an idea let us pick on Africaken. Since that's the only thing we know how to do together it ll make the ground clearance guys feel better. |
Henry240:Baba, abeg free that guy. Those that created that IPV have a particular specialization that they made it for and if only we could sit back and wait we would get to see it perform in that area. The boys have been complaining of herdsmen and rustlers escaping into villages making hard to engage them, we have border patrol to do and so much more so this Doohickey will get its chance to prove itself |
please how do i get one. i need one that can take down an arm robber or thief that wants to rob me of my phone, my laptop or my life. |
africaken254:These are the men that have been rescuing hostages in the North East for years since the insurgency began, they have been rescuing kins and kinsmen and even organize rescue operations for livestocks stolen by Boko Haram scouts I wish we could one day make a movie about them.
|
africaken254:oh sorry dear, did i hurt you somewhere? ![]() |
jln115:patience,patience, patience. Let's wait for the official release of its true specs, from what the army said, the platform is already earning its stripes in the various theatres of operations were we are presently engaged against extremist, rogue herdsmen and cattle rustlers. There is a reason why the Army did not call this vehicle or refer to this Doohickey( it doesn't have a name yet so...) as ATV it has of road mobility as stated by the army does not mean it would wade through water or climb hills that some other ATV can climb. Every platform has its own specific "thing". Maybe the guys that built this have speed and off road mobility as its main capability. While we are here busting each other balls on why is the back heavier? Why is the spare tire not also of road tires. If this was Doohickey version 2 now I would say OK, then some of your complaints would sound reasonable . but this is a platform that is gathering new experience, the next version may be improved on or the manufacturers may just decide to stop production like we saw with the Igirigi's |
ok. look like somebody in the US congress is interested in saving the lives of Kenyan pilots. the AT-802 is not designed to perform the role that the kenyans and the guys at L3 Technologies want to force it into. http://allafrica.com/stories/201702220077.html paragraph 4&5 hanging weapons on the AT-802 is an old farm pilots idea of a joke for African Militaries.

Oga Henry240 I created this thread here to ensure that we enjoy some privacy over the issues I want to discuss with you. your thread, our thread would be hitting it's 1000th page anytime soon and this is not a feat that is very easy to achieve. military discussion threads usually last longer here on Nairaland because it's followers are not little kids that move away with time in search of new experiences. so I have been thinking and I ve decided to call your mind to this thoughts of mine so that our minds together can rub each other in a grand romance of thoughts and wits(I am sounding weird forgive me). to celebrate our achievement of the 1000th page peg, I suggest we surprise both old and new followers of the thread by creating a funny video slide of their past hilarious or controversial posts that would give them a sense of belonging, we should also quote some of the most controversial, funniest and ridiculous posts or claim made by a follower in the course of our journey together. a list of the ten first posters in the thread would be made and a list of the first posters of foreign nationality could also be made, a quote of the first attempt at derailing the thread by a poster should be posted and the poster and his nationality named. that's for the fun part( you can add your ideas) for the intellectual part: I suggest we invite guest posters who are professionals in their fields to come and comment on some topics of interests e. g the challenges faced by local defence Industries in SSA and other issues that have bordered most of our fellow followers. I suggest we invite notable African Defence personalities like Gen Been, Eeben Barlow, The CEO of proforce and any other person of your choice. then I would like you and I to author a work a pdf journal which would be the first of a series of journals and it this work would be about "Social Media and their impact of national defense planning" it would cover cases where local armed forces have been alerted through the social media, I am sure you are aware of the fact that the Centenary was named on the Internet first and somehow got the exact same name" these are issues I would like us to write on in this particular journal and it would be made avaliable for free to all the followers of the thread by email. let's us continue to brain storm and see how we can make the achievement of this particular benchmark a memorable and uniting one for all of us. we would work with Oga S3un to get it on front page for the two days that this events would last. please try not to write the name of anyone that you do not want to be better informed on this issue here. it is a surprise for the boys. thank you |
africaken254:no dude, to save lives |
tdayof:No Sir, it is not obvious. different deals, different reasons. stop adding up unrelated facts together in your bedroom. next you will tell us the Daughter of a Nigerian Politician got married to a Brazilian and that is an obvious reason why we are buying tucanos. and by the way an MOU is not a sealed deal. |
Odunayaw:for the light attack role? 1. Yak 130 15 million dollar per unit (operational in African Militaries 2. L-8 10 million dollar per unit(operational in African Militaries) 3.L-15 14.6 million dollar per unit(operational in African Militaries) all these options are available and they all have comparably low cost flight hour, but we are going for this 4. EMB Super Tucano unit cost 9-14 million dollars and we have been going for it for some years now and we are not getting it and yet we are not looking elsewhere.

Henry240:i know what you are talking about. if our leaders really want to equip the armed forces with the amount of money that we all have seen them stealing from it, then "cost" wouldn't ever be the problem. like i said earlier " poorer nations have fought wars with better assets" how can you even put the words cost effective together and use them to describe an aircraft that we have been trying to procure for years without success(even at the high point of the insurgency when we needed them urgently, costing us our pride in the international scene, whereby because of this said Aircraft our Armed forces have been described as unprofessional, human right abusers. fielding the Aircraft might be cost effective but procuring one has cost us a lot as a sovereign state in terms of National pride. |
Henry240:The jets were delivered in 1984 and at that time a 3rd generation jet meant something. historical facts or no historical facts the reason why we do not make such major purchases like this again is because of the corrupt officials at the helm of affairs. ask yourself these questions, is the Tucano the only Ground attack capable Jet in the Market? is the Tucano the best we can find in the Market? so why is it that it is either the Tucano or nothing else. even when there are better Eastern alternatives. We dont need Airplanes like the Tucanos we need Airplanes to prosecute our counter insurgency operations, no matter where or how they come, forget the cost effective thing poorer nations have fought wars with better assets it just depends on where your interest lies and clearly the interest of our defense planner lies in their pocket. This one is telling me about cost effective, do you think someone that have more than 9.8 million dollar hidden in his sewage tank understand the meaning of "cost effective"?
|
jln115:that was beautiful. how do you guys manage such shows in your cities? those Guns have very long ranges and could hit structures and persons beyond that area. |
africaken254:here lies our last attempt at building an expeditionary armed forces. look at them, imagine what they would have looked like in their better days. all 13 of them rusting away along with our hopes and dreams of seeing a greater Nigerian Airforce. to think we are now begging for Tucanos even after we have acquired these beauties in the past is to show you how corrupt and selfish some of our present civilian defense planners are. Rest in Peace Jaguar, you never had the chance to roar. |
its ok. we are back to business. a different view of the mystery ATV
|
SMALL ENGINE |
jln115:you see, I have tried to find one reliable link that backs the fact that the SADF used guided missiles during the Border wars and I have seen none, maybe you could just help me with one or two. https://www.sa-soldier.com/data/07-SADF-equipment/ (list of equipments used in the border wars, no guided missile listed) |
Henry240:I will let it go. after all its not my country that would be supporting it's troops with fertilizer spraying planes. |
Frumentum:we introduced the use of guided missiles into the African Counter terrorist scene in 2014 with our CH3, and in 2015 we actually saw the first footage of this weapons being fielded. |
jln115:are they presently fighting any Counter terrorist War? No. please cite instances where this countries have fielded guided missiles in a Counter Insurgency operation. |
africaken254:we ve used more Guided missiles in our COIN operations than any Nation in SSA have used for the same role. I know you know that, but you just want to defend the present position of your Government in purchasing the obsolete and civilian purpose built Aircraft for COIN. after all we introduced the use of guided missiles in the African Counter Insurgency battle theatres. The AR1 missile is a Chinese derivation of the American Hellfire Missile and we have been using them to hunt Terrorists since 2014. |
africaken254:No armed forces in this world should be subjected to using any armed aircraft called "air tractor" even the name is demoralizing for the men who will be getting air support from this airframe. imagine calling in for air support while under heavy fire and you are told that two A-10 Warthog are on their way, you will be motivated to continue holding the line till Air support arrives. But what if you are told that two Air tractors are enroute to give you Air support? you will be like Tractors? ah!! let me just die already. what do the White's take African Militaries for? how can we be in the 21st century and still be using a converted farm insecticide spraying plane to fight terrorism. I guess weaponizing that plane was the idea of one over confident farmer who after carrying out some "maneuvers while spraying his corn felt it a good idea to hang some lethals on the plane and send it to Africa.

chkil:even if they are white colored self only looking at their muscle structure would tell you they are africans. They are all black. |
ActivateKruger:no joke. You must have gone through a lot. |
