***In general, everyone born in Canada from 1947 or later acquires Canadian citizenship at birth. The only exceptions concern children born to diplomats, where additional requirements apply. Children born to residents holding temporary work or study permits are not citizens at birth. Most persons born in Canada before 1947 acquired Canadian citizenship on 1 January 1947 if still living at that date. Section 3(2) of the Current Act states that Canadian citizenship is not granted to a child born in Canada if, at the time of his/her birth, neither of his/her parents was a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident and either parent was a diplomatic or consular officer or other representative or employee of a foreign government in Canada or an employee of such a person. However, should the immigration status of the parents of such persons change to permanent resident, they may be granted citizenship immediately, or when the parents acquire citizenship through naturalization, at the discretion of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.*** BOTTTOMLINE. anyone born in canada is a citizen of Canada by birth. regardless of the parent citizenship status, unless they are diplomats http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_nationality_law#Birth_in_Canada |
@ readymade pls add me to your messenger or send me a message to v.lawrence94(at)yahoo dot com. i wanna discuss something with you in private pls |
@readymade sorry for contradicting what you said earlier but as far as i have known (maybe to my limited knowledge) i cant find a place on CIC website where it states that if someone study a 1 yr course, and a two years work experience, someone can immigrate permanently under the canadian experinced class. I only know of studying two yrs and with one yr experience. Pls can you support it with a link to justify his claim? Regards |
doyghng. seriously, i did not understand what you are trying to say in your previous post on this page. what are you talking about? are you talking about the entrance exam that will not be held in ghana for nigerian student or what? pls talk in details. no offence pls |
i have comfirmed the information posted earlier concerning the restrictions of nigerian student participating in finnips entrance exam to be held in GH to be true and not false. a bad news for intending applicant, and i know the reputations of our student here has cause these who has turn it as a business to smuggle illiterates to the schengen zone that calls for alarm when they cant speak in class or operate just a computer like restarting and the rest of them. WTF, sorry for the genuine applicant. |
@cluzdcobra, I think you dont understand what he his trying to say.the exam will still be organised in ghana but nigerian applicant will be invited to finland and not ghana. well, the best thing for us to do is to verify if the information is true. iamcampalla, i will like to verify the authenticity of these info that u post here, forward d email to me or tell ur friend to forward it to me. dont copy and paste, forwaed it from the email of the admission office that it came from. my email id v.lawrence94 (at) yahoo dot com |
iamcampalla well, i cant talk much on this. what the admission office said might be true or not, i cant say. but if its true, then i think its a way of exempting nigerians applicant from applying to study in finland. according to finnips wesbsite, they stated that the spring entrance exam will be organised in ghana but many of the UAS HAS not updated their website about the new application process and detail venue of the entrance exam. well, i will try and email the admission office and enquire from them if this is true. |

Hi all, i am also a prospective student from nigeria that applied to study in finland this year january and it was successful. I am already in finland now doing my undergraduate course in kemi-tornio uas. I know many of you will need good info on how to apply, sit for the entrance exam, apply for ur resident permit and also, some useful tips on studying here. Well, i was thinking that i should create a FB page so that i will paste the link here and it will serve as a communication channel between me, choose4me and all the prospective student who want to study here. Let me see how manyy replies and recommendation i get from you guys before i will create the FB page and paste for you guys here. Even those without a language skill certificate like TOEFL or IELTS can still apply and be admitted, dont doubt it, its real, its all about information and the right processing. Lets see how it goes, i will be expecting your feedbacks if i should create the page or not. p.S, everything that will be done here will be public, i am not doing these to scam anybody, if you dont have a positive idea about my post, pls just stay-off because everything will be done, publicly and on forums or FB page if its successful, thanks Big regards to choose4me, you have been doing a good job here, and GOd will continue to bless you in all your ways as you are doing the good job. Endo. Well, i dont understand your first paragraph but i will answer u wit wat i knw. Based on COU website, http://www.haeennenkuin.fi/Education.aspx?cid=562&main=2 you should send your certificate as at wen u will send ur comfirmation form which is aug 2 or d admission place will be canceled. You will get d visa only if COU did not cancelled your admission place because d embassy will confirm frm COU. You should email COU and ask them if your admission place has not been canceled. And besides thats reminds me, i also applied with waec statement of result and waec has to send ma result to the embassy directly. @fate yea i used iberia and its cheaper. About 128k that i paid. |
thank God for safe arrival to finland. i just arrived helsinki from madrid about 15 mins ago. I'm at the airport now browsing with wireless. I'm studying business management at KTUAS. @manliness. Which course are you going for? I guess its BIT |
@manliness. Mine is even more than ten weeks before its been granted. Applied on the 29th of june and was granted on the 16th of september. No additional docs were asked from me, thank God for that. If you ar granted the RP, they will inform you by email telling you to send your passport via courier to the embassy and you will be liable to pay for the TO and FRO of the delivery fee to the courier company with a cover letter stating your PU number, email address, phone number and the return delivery address of the passport. Thats all. I hope i answer your question. When did you apply and which school are you up to? |
wow, residence permit granted. Suomi, here i come |
@all. choose4me has spoken well. You guys should come here and share your success stories o. So that at least, you can ginger the prospective students. |
@esko. email me. You are still with my personal email address. |
@ esko are you now in TRNC ? well, helsinki is a diverse community and there should be lot student jobs i think. Or if possible, you can work with your previous qualification if it works that way. |
travel to Canada for free, company take care of visa and ticket. contact: 07085718200, hurry three vacancies available for now. Another stupid and shameles fool That will about in spoiling nigeria name. Fooooooool |
About 1,500 application are still pending, this is the report by migri yesterday. Depending on when u applied for your RP, u might receive decision by oct 2011. http://www.migri.fi/netcomm/content.asp?article=4241 |
@esko. Check ur email box |
@ esko. Well, based on what you just said, i will advice that you should not make that move unless you can satisfy some of these reasons. 1. If you travel to TRNC and the finnish embassy then require you to send an updated bank statement of your account and maybe your sponsor financial document and evidence of source of the 6000euro for verification, can you provided it from there? 2. If it turns out the other way round(God forbid) will you appeal against it or forget it? Because your presence will be needed at the embassy in case of an appeal. 3. If you are granted the resident permit, wont it be an additional espenses for you to prepare and move all over to finland again from your current location? And lastly, 4. Will it be an incoveniency to you if you wait here for the finnish embassy to make a decision on your application? If you have a good arrangement for all these, then i think you are good to go and also, the finnish embassy use the postage method when given out RP. You dont need to be present at the embassy for your permit, you will send your passport via postage and it will be returned to you also through that format. |
Na why you chose too study nursing? |
@ esko. The average processing time for the finnish embassy to process resident permit application is 8 weeks. Since you've already done your interview on the 11th of aug, its not a guarantee that you will receive their decision before your studies starts but they try their best in replying to you. This is the busiest time of the year because over 4,000 students are applying for a resident permit and they are processed based on the order of arrival. I know of people that theirs is going to about 8 weeks now and no reply yet and they ar suppose to start their studies by the end of aug. I'll advice you should mail your uni and ask them the last date of arrival so you can arrange yourself well and besides, what do you mean by you have a turkish visa? |
@iiiyyk To register for the IELTS, the fee is 30,000 with a duely filled application form, 2passport photograph and ur intl passport. And d exam is also arranged in port-harcourt. The exam centre are not disclosed to candidate till about a week before the exam thats wen u will be notified and for the reading material, u can but it for 4000 naira at the british council. Visit their website on www.ielts.britishcouncil.org and complete the online registration, after filling it, u will print it out and it will give you details of the preprequisite requirement and the address to pay and submit the printed form. I hope i helped you |
ame2407 and charlie22, we both has something in common. I also applied for my resident permit on 29th of june and no reply from them yet. As for me, i'm going to KTUAS. Where ar you guys studying at? U guys can drop ur emails lets connect asap. |
@ am me, the school is a bad school and its not recognised. If u can post on nairaland, i'm sure u shud be able to google the name of the school and to help you out u can visit these link of unaccreditted schools and you will see it in the H section. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unaccredited_institutions_of_higher_learning and for your info, for the fact that your sister have gone to the school and doing her masters in france does not make any difference. They are just after her money and who knows if she has furthered her masters to a school thats not aslo recognised. Mtchewwwww. |
when u reach the bridge, you will cross it. And you should know that students are allowed to work but you should not be hoping on that because getting a job is hard especially when you dnt knw how to speak their native language. Do you got an admission from schools both in norway and finland or what? |
