Don't get it wrong, even if you see an American plane landing in Lagos airport, that doesn't mean that the plane flew in direct from the States, the narrator did not say that American planes do not fly to Lagos, she said the US has banned all direct flight to Lagos, which mean, every flight must first transit in Europe before proceeding to Lagos; AND THIS REMAINS THE CURRENT SITUATION.

I think your states of mind is low and confused. There is no any airlines that belongs to America transit first in Europe before coming to Lagos. Its good to know that you do not live in US and that you have never fly any of Americans airlines. Delta Airlines direct flight from Atlanta, Georgia, USA to Lagos. United Airlines direct flight from Washington. D.C. Maryland to Lagos and Delta Airlines from New York City, New York, USA to Abuja. Continental Airlines will fly from Houston, Texas, USA to Lagos starting in November 11. None of this airline do not transit in Europe. I have used Delta late 2008, direct fight from America. Just go to their website and pretend like you want to book a flight. The airline of your choice will show you your flight information. Then you come back and tell us if any Americans airlines transit in Europe. For example, when I was coming to Nigeria two years ago, I flew Delta from NYC and transit at Atlanta; Delta Airlines main base and from there straight to Lagos. My friend, please, you can educate those who didn't go to school and do not know anything about fly thing. But don't try that with me. I fly to Nigeria every two years and know more than you. Just go to different airline websit and see where they transit before coming here. People are not dumb as you think. By the way, this video was posted in youtube in December 2010 doesn't mean it was usually made on that month too. The background and sound looks old.

No, that video is not old, i just made a research and found out that the incident happened sometime last year within September and December, so, it's pretty new

Do you know why I said this is an old video, listen to .59 just before 1 minute mark. The lady said that US have baned all their airline for flying to Nigeria. Delta Airlines have been going to Nigeria almost or more than three years now. United Airlines just started late last year going to Nigeria and Continental is set to go to Nigeria November of this year. I do not support the state of the airport but this is an old video. If you say five years ago, I might support you on that but since 2007, Delta Airlines have been coming to Nigeria. So my dear, look before you say unless you do not know the kind of airlines that apply Nigeria routes.

Though Nigerian airports are still at worst, this is an old video. There are two US airlines that presently flying to Nigeria and the third one is set to fly to Nigeria November of 2011. Anyways, it very embarrassing in a country that tenth that produce oil in the world.

viclee009:

To those Christian who thinks modernization and equality is the best way to go I have the following;
1. God did not consult with you or I before making man the head of the house.
2. if you bow down to your wife because of money, you will only have yourself to blame. Please don't get me wrong. I am not in support of any form of violence especially against WOMEN. It is a good thing to assist your wife with chores every now and then. But some women do take things out of contents. To become a good leader, a ship captain needs a good assistant.
You the man is the captain and your wife is your assistant. Money or No Money don't fall prey to western liberal philosophies which have done nothing but destroyed the fabric of western societies. Men your children needs you and their mothers. Been the head of the house does not give Men the license to Mal-treat or abuse women. A tough and effective head of a house does not need to be a tyrant or rule with tyranny.
3. Women, be careful how you treat your husbands. No matter what you think or how much money you think you make, your true dignity comes through your husband. don't be a cafeteria Christian taking only what you like from the Bible. There are lot of guys who will tell you what you want to hear to get a piece of your backside, but sooner or later he will move on to something younger. Ask yourself this question, Is it worth breaking your happy home over and hanging your children out to dry for?
Your friends might tell you it's the right to do. but how sincere are they with you? living in a nice house or driving a nice car can never replace love and happiness of marital bliss in your life. Alot of young girls will do anything to be with that man you just dumped or are thinking of dumping. But you will be stuck with the children all by yourself and eventually become the old village bike every boy rides at will. So do yourself a favor, try to save your marriage anyway you can.

God bless you.

@ buzugee, afraid catch me o!
I wish our leader remain in ignorance of those taxes. In Nigeria, you can;
buy a car and drive it home and pay nothing in taxes, only payment will be reg. Number.
Buy a house and pack in, you only pay the land owner, we dont even care to document the transaction in a land registry. Those that do understate the purchase price, you can write 100k as purchase price so you pay only 1250 naira as stamp duty and registry fees for a land of 15 million. But if you dont register it, no wahala, e no concern anyboby.
You can draw your plans and build your house with your direct labour, no inspection fees of approvals from engineers or govt.
Who even thinks of building insurance? We see it as waste of good money and we dont do it (99%) of all houses here.
You can sell and buy shares in any company and not pay a dime in capital gains tax. Just pay transaction fees and go and enjoy your loot.
Interest tax in banks is around 10%
you can pack your car anywhere (even double park sef) and if anybody try you, call police for am.
There are no speed limits in naija, the only speed limits here is the almighty potholes.
You can use any amenity free of charge, if you know how to, I know people who have never paid light bill, but they enjoy light everyday.
You can build ten houses and fill them with tenants, collect rents and chop everymonth no problem. (most landlords dont know anything called property tax)

You should be happy for your useless leaders not collecting tax because the money would still ending in their pockets. Which amenity are you talking. the two hours electricity a week or what? I am waiting.

I really hate to come back to this topic but just to be frank and straight with Buzugee; u are the most ignorant and  person on this thread. Why defend a nation you have not business relocating to in the near future.

I could have continue to support Cap28 but he is just doing fine taking you and invisible down. Bravo to Cap28.

Buzugee, you state of mind is out of touch with your brain. You are the most confused man who ever hang around white -bitches- and fucck them, and don't know what to do. You have no right defending Nigeria, its leaders and the state Nigeria is.

invisible, why do you continue to support Buzugee? If he had a plan that he will go Nigeria to relocate instead of Gambia  is a different thing. Buzugee is stabbing you in the back and you think he in the right state of mind because he writes useless things about Nigeria.

Buzugee, on one of your post, you describe how people who retire in USA goes to other countries to stay because of cost of living. You also made this remark about British who retire goes to south Africa and co. What makes you different from this people you categorite? Your future plan is Gambia. Why don't you stay in England or perhaps Nigeria? You states of mind is low and confused. You talk about others knowing you are no different.

@ Buzugee, you view about Nigeria is just a shallow minded. Many people read this things. Anyone who read your posts and see what you wrote about Nigeria yet you little confused mind is in Gambia, no one will take you seriously. This is the reason you will continue to have problem with Cap28, me and others. I see you as mentally challenge person and if you are the only black person in you office, is time you look elsewhere but don't come here to continue to deceive people about Nigeria and future plans.

@Tensor777

To  be honest ignoring the problem with the country wont solve it. like Nigerians, other nationals have issues with their countries too, the problem with Nigeria is that we fail to see that we need to improve. yes we are developing but alot of people are being left behind,

you dont have to go into image bashing,  honestly,

you have to disgree on some things but i agree with Cap28,   i am his biggest fan grin grin grin grin grin SHOOT ME lol

Example of country that left is China whose independence is ahead of Nigeria with just 10. See where they are today and look at Nigeria.

tensor777:

Man you are just crazy to compare Liberia with countries like Canda and South Korea. What are you on about. Or is this the baseless pride some ignorant Africans are fond of exhibiting?

Why is you brain spinning when it comes to comparison. you started it or is the truth killing you.

cap28:

You see the problem i have with people like you is that you have a warped sense of reasoning, i presented a situation of a vulnerable person in a country like nigeria and your response was to attack and denigrate this person.  It did not occur to you that this person was a mere victim of a brutal and callous society.  You did not attack the system that creates such suffering, instead you chose to attack the victim.

This is a system  in which 1% of the  population have appropriated 95% of the wealth of the country leaving over 70% to languish in grim poverty.

You did not  think of attacking a system that condemns its youth to illiteracy, poverty, crime and prostitution instead you chose to attack and BLAME a defenceless victim of one of the harshest and most repressive systems of govt on the planet.  This is why i say people like you deserve the govt you have.  Until you educate yourself and understand that your leaders are under an obligation to provide for its citizenry, particularly the most vulnerable members of that society, you will continue wallowing in a sea of ignorance.

Do i care whether you were born on lagos island? have i not been to lagos island isnt it an overcrowded slum teeming with refuse and garbage.  As  a matter of fact the villages are a hundred times cleaner and more sanitary than your lagos island so please dont think that lagos island is a place to be proud of okay.

You say you dont come from a village - fine, why havent you relocated back to Ikare akoko to make a living from making carvings and pottery?

You say that i have refused to take responsibility for my actions but prefer to shift responsiblity on to the govt, you see this is where again i have to highlight your ignorance - your govt has a duty and a responsibility to provide for its citizens, you have been conditioned to accept your grim poverty stricken state, the mobile police, JTF and all other arms of the nigerian gangster state have beaten you into submission and now like a victim of an abusive relationship you actually think they do not owe you anything.  Does it make sense to you that a country like nigeria which is the 8th largest exporter of oil IN THE WORLD can not provide constant electricity, running water, a functioning health care system, standard educational institutions, employment, food for its citizens!!!!!!!!!!

Cuba is a socialist country with no natural resources and it has a98% literacy level due to its ongoing policy of free education for all of its citizens up to university level, it also provides  free health care for all of its citizens.

You should be ashamed of yourself for defending the gangster run contraption known as nigeria, you havent even got the guts to hold your leaders to account - instead you take out your frustration on a defenceless destitute woman who was nothing but a victim.

Nigeria is a govt serving the interest of a bunch of bandits and that is the truth, it doesnt care about people like you, it never has and it never will okay.

You say nigeria is still pretty young - according to whose calculations ? is 50 years not more than enough time for a country to get its economy on track, when do you think nigeria will be old enough to understand that it needs to get its act together, when the oil runs out or when it is recolonised by the west - by the way the plan of recolonisation of nigeria is now underway - you might want to google africom.

Oh and it was Kennedy who made that quote and not Lincoln and he had every right to ask that of americans as previous govts before him had made many compromises and granted many concessions to the american people - post second world war former american president roosevelt had introduced affordable housing, employment and overall  improved standards of living for its citizens.  Contrast that with the nigerian govts treatment of its own citizens and you will see that you are just refusing to face up to reality.

what is it that the nigerian govt has  done for you - is it SAP, devalued currency, mass unemployment, substandard educational instititutions, non existent health care facilities, sub standard housing provision, mobile police who maim and kill people - please tell me because im scratching around and nothing positive comes to mind.

@ cap28

Why are you still arguing with people who needs brain transplan. Psychiatrist would have be the best choice for invisible and buzugee but since its lacking in Nigeria, brain transplan will just do it. IBB and off and on strikes really do tremendous damage to their and blinded in one side. I stopped responding to their posts.

invisible lived somewhere in Illinois according to his earlier post. He's deceiving you guys just like the way he doesn't know the states of Nigeria. As for buzugee, that idiot doesn't lived in Nigeria my gits tells me. On page 22, his statement about those who scavenge barbages shows his delusional. Who on earth will have millions in their accounts and still scavenge garbages when they can take half a million and a car for small business. Life is about progress not degrating yourself you know. Why should I continue to scavenge garbages with millions just sitting in bank account.
