I am happy for you, congratulations to you and your family I tap into your testimony, that in 4 months time my PPR will also be here without any ADR /Interviews in jesus name Amen Congratulations once again NubianQueen87: You have times and seasons in Your hands, You called forth light out of darkness. You don't need a man to be the God you are, but You have chosen to call me Your own!
People of God, gather round...
It's PPR!!!
Exactly 4months, at 10:36pm, it arrived. I opened my email on the 22nd to retrieve a document and BAM! There it was!!! Some students had come to report noisemakers. The way I rushed them out of my office, they would have wondered what happened to Me. I was in shock. I'm still in shock. I was expecting it but now that it's here, the feeling is so surreal. I'm just so thankful to God. No ADR. No interview. Kai. Through my unfaithfulness, doubt, He still had mercy and favoured me and my family. Thank You, Father.
It has ended in praise!!! |

Hello, you're welcome I entered the pool last year Then redid my Ielts last year When my Ielts came out I simply edited my Ielts scores and then updated it Within 5 Minutes my New CRS Score changed from 414 to 475 TO answer your 2nd question, Yes you can enter the pool and retake the Ielts score for a higher score, that's exactly what I did If you enter the pool and retake the Ielts test, I mean both you and your wife and the results comes out fine, then your scores will increase atleast it should be higher than 444 teeboi77: Ok thanks for your response,so it was after you took IELTS again and scored high and your CRS increased before you finally enter the Pool?
Can we enter pool with 444 and then retake IELTS for a higher score?
How will this affect the score 444 we have entered the pool with?
kindly respond and if we can chat on whatsapp i will appreciate.
regards, |

Hello, so sorry I haven't replied you, I wasn't online all through yesterday, my apologies I had to redo another IELTS Exam, and I got above the 8777 score grid And apart from my IELTS Exam, I also have a Masters Degree, so I think all these factors made my score go up to 475 teeboi77: Thanks boss, but what did you do that make it jump to 475?.
still waiting for your kind response. |

Wow i am happy for you, huge congratulations chukwuemeka275: Here's the story as promised
Somehow, I just had so much faith that the new the draw will come out soon and it will be lower. D day, August 20 2019 and the new draw was done (first time I heard of biweekly draw) it was 457. I entered the pool without wasting time. This time I made no mistakes in filling the forms especially when you consider that all the needed info was already handy. When it came to that question of where I would reside, the moment my eyes spotted Quebec, I was like, ‘God forbid’.
Finally, I give God all the glory for making this possible My parents who encouraged me during the IELTS trauma.
All the best guys. |

Why Canada?
I have had family and friends relocate abroad but never really considered it cuz I had previously lived abroad during MSc. and didn’t stay back due to some reasons. My wife as well had no abroad leanings beyond vacations. Working in Nigeria wasn’t easy; came close to a number of big jobs but didn’t get selected at final AC stage. The “small” companies I worked for had issues paying salaries on time or at all. I quit my job, archived my CV and focused on building my business in Nigeria. However, an issue that rendered me immobile (unable to make money too) for some days, made me realize the benefits of a country that considers the healthcare and welfare of its citizens paramount (go NDP!).
What Canada?
ECA: WES was a breeze for me due to abroad MSc. I didn’t include my Nigerian degree. 21st, July – 17th Sep, 2018. My wife’s own took much longer cuz of Naija factor but we didn’t use it in the end cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t do at all cuz points were enough.
IELTS: I already posted my IELTS story in part 5 . 29th Sept, 2018 – L 9, R 9, S 8, W 7.5. My wife didn’t write cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t write cuz kids don’t listen.
ITA v1: We got our first ITA on Oct 29th, 2018 but rejected it cuz I had to use POF for business.
Medical v1: We had our medicals on Nov 8th, 2018. Mine went smoothly. During our doctor interview, I mentioned my asthma history while my wife told him about her thyroid gland history. He said hers wasn’t an issue according to the system/software but he would double-check and get back to us. The waiting period was filled with anxiety. The next day, the nurse called to inform us that we passed. My kid did his medicals…yeah! finally contributing when points are not being taken.
ITA v3: April 17th, 2018.
POF: It took a while to return to our account. Pls blame my clients, they are not alright…all right. We had our funds in a joint (just my wife and I...my kid wasn’t happy about being excluded cuz he definitely contributed money) Stanbic Mutual Funds account. I logged in and printed our account statement in PDF, combined it with the scanned letter from Stanbic.
NOC: Initially selected 2147 based on my previous job titles, but when I read the rules and found out that job role trumps trudeaus job title, I switched to 2281. My former offices owed it to me (literally and financially) to “follow my advice” on how to structure the letters.
LoE: My letter was 63 pages long…attached docs inclusive oh. I explained every document uploaded in placeholders and attached to the LoE. Major explanations: i- POF: I felt I had to explain the source of POF cuz it came in bulk few days after/before ITAv3. I attached statements from my company account, CAC docs, biz docs (Purchase Orders, Contracts, etc.) ii- Wife’s name: My wife had been using a shortened version of her name on ALL her official documents except her birth certificate which has the spiritual version. Her change of name after marriage was from her shortened version to her current name.
When Canada?
AOR/Post AOR: May 27th, 2019 The wait was pretty chill for me as I have previously handled visa applications all by myself. I registered on immitracker and saw people going green in 69 days…we started praying for a speedy conclusion. My wife occasionally asked for updates…but the frequency increased towards the end of 2019 as we needed to plan 2020. My kid didn’t ask for updates at the beginning…neither at the middle nor the end. I’m beginning to suspect he doesn’t know what’s going on. I joined the April/May AOR WhatsApp group around this time. Our account was pretty uneventful till our medical expired Nov 8th 2019…ghost update. I read some people’s stories on canadavisa forum where they got their medicals extended so we were hopeful. On Nov 10th, my wife gave birth to another kid who is also enjoying points he didn’t contribute to. We raised a CSE the following day etc (see timeline). IOM was kind enough to schedule us for the baby’s medical a day after baby’s passport was ready. I made a mistake when signing the IMM0008 form so we got an ADR for it. Baby’s UCI was ready on Dec 7th. Medical v2 (entire family excluding new baby) requested on Dec 10th. MEPv2 on Dec 19th. Got an ADR for updated POF even though I included it when uploading docs in response to ADR for Baby. We received the PPR email on Jan 3rd, 2020.
How Canada?
Will find out after landing.
We are saying a big thank you to all those that answered our questions and pointed us in the right direction. We appreciate all the positive messages in response to my application status updates. We pray everyone’s PR dream is fulfilled.
God bless! |

Okay thank you so much for your advise, i will use my Nigerian Bank Statement Mamaroon: For ID use bio data page of passport. For Proof of Address use your Nigerian Bank Statement (it should typically have your name and address)...this is just one of many options they give.

Hello, thank you for your quick response and for all your advice, I deeply appreciate it. Please when you say issued by the government, can I also use a NIN Card? Please Is it acceptable? MissyVee007: If you don't have a licence, you can use a voters card or any other ID issued by the government. You can’t use a land or property deed, it’s not a valid proof of address as listed on their website.
If you can’t get ID, They also accept utility bills or a bank statement that has your address listed. That should be an easier option. |

Hello everyone, good afternoon, please i have an issue with the UK Police Report Certificate
I'm about to apply for my UK police report, I saw on their website that I must provide 1 document that shows my Name and my Current Address within the last 12 Months
The site mentioned (Drivers License) but I don't drive so I don't have 1, the website mentioned (ID Card) from my country, please do they mean International Passport? If yes it's only my name that's there, no my current address is visible.
They also mentioned (Immigration Document) , My IELTS and ICES Certificates have both my Name and my Current Address please can I use any of them? And submit it for proof of Address? For the UK police report Certificate?
I also have a (Land Document) which was dated January 11, 2019, it has my name and my current address, please can I use it as proof of Address for the UK Police Report? considering that in the next 5 days the document will be exactly 1 Year
Please i will appreciate your help and advise, thank you in advance |

CONGRATULATIONS on your Remark for Writing, I'm happy for you. Please how long did your Remark take? Also did you do your Remark with BC or MOD IDP? Itzpearlz: Lol!!!!!!!!
Yaaaaaaaayyyyyyyssssssssssssssss!
I'm suppppppppper excited!
I've been waiting patiently to mark my first post on this thread with a victory story.
You People!!!!
It's IELTS victory o!
Lol, no vex in case my excitement is too plenty for IELTS as other people are celebrating PPR.
So I wrote IELTS at first attempt last month.
That is, after several postponements for fear of the money not entering voicemail (75k is not beans o ) I eventually got the push that last month and immediately paid before I could change my mind.
And then it dawned on me that it was less than a month away! Oh My Wow!
The spirit of "I've been using English all my life" overcame me in addition to handling plenty other activities all at once.
Speaking test was really fine. The storytelling part was especially fun. I had a Nigerian examiner. At a point, where I wanted to use 'phoné' to confuse myself, she just looked at me in a way that communicated "Just be yourself, better don't phonerize yourself into failure!"
I thank God.
Next the LWR tests..
Anytime I remembered that I had exam, I would quickly play the listening videos I had from a dear friend. I looked at the Reading material only once. And then the writing, Oh the writing! I had looked at the Cambridge writing materials a few times and somehow my mind told me that "It's just regular stuff naa". (Brethren, this is the SCAMMEST scam o! Don't fall for it! It's not regular o) A night before the exam, that's when I decided to crash read the MOD writing practice textbook that my friend gifted me (Brethren, don't do this - it's a recipe for High Blood Pressure ). OMG, it was that night I realized how book is sha! I covered more than half of the book (glossing through in crash reading style). That night ehnnnnn, different thoughts "Why didn't I" "What if I had" "I wish I could"...
I slept off at about 4am and ended up oversleeping. By the time I woke, it was almost 7am! Lol I had to wash face, brush my teeth and wore the first available Jean and Top. (Yes, I wrote the exam without bathing! ) My Dad to the rescue, he took me to a spot where I found OPay to the venue and I was able to make it there early.
Thank God!
The crowd sha!
A fresh fear came upon me. I was looking at people's faces as if trying to discern how many times they had written the exam and wondering if I'd be coming back again. I'd read of people spending over a million naira on IELTS test fees. Many thoughts rioting "Why didn't I prepare well?"
Eventually, I wrote.
The day before results came out, I was beside myself in anticipation and fear. Alas, the next morning I saw the results. Lo and behold, beautiful result except for the writing. Yes o, that writing shaaaa!!! My Goodness! The 6.5 hit me like "Gboa!"
I was confused to be honest. I talked with my EE Big Sis and her confidence in my matter ehnnnnn. She said I should request for a remark. She was SO SURE! Another friend said I should jejely not waste time with remark and just prepare my mind to rewrite it.
To say I was confused is to say the least. I was disappointed, crushed, confused and afraid, all at once.
I checked my score with 6.5 and with 7.0, Brethren, the gap was wiiiiiiddddddeeee!
What to do?
I decided to Walk in Faith and pray for a remark to return in my favour. I chose to remark only Writing even though I've read that it's advisable to tick two modules to ensure the refund. Lol I ghatz focus my prayers well biko, so I chose to remark only writing.
The waiting for EOR sha.... I read almost every material I could find on EOR process. All the different materials, some sent shivers down my spine, some gave me hope, some confused me. Chai! In fact, that's how I read somewhere that if the difference between your highest score and the least score is more than 2 points, then automatically there's no hope for an increase. I got reaaallly scared. I thank God that proved to be a false claim o. My mum was scared the scores will even reduce! Lol I had to assure her from what I read here on NL that it wouldn't. But Brethren, in my research upandan online, I stumbled on some sites that said it could reduce o. Choi! See fear! I sent private messages to Pwinkle1 and Michaelsmadison. Pwinkle1 was so kind and so detailed in her response! God bless you! MichaelMadison was so helpful, and patient with my drama. Lol!
You guys!!!!!!!!
Drum roll!!!
EOR Result is out and God gave me the 0.5 I needed!
I am MAD excited!
I kept praying and my prayer was "0.5" and He gave me exactly what I needed! Gratitude doesn't begin to contain how I feel.
Like, I don't mind the wait of this process o, but you see the thought of rewriting exam? Oh My!
Please, forgive my long post and join me to thank God!
Now, ECA wait begins. |

I know this sounds like a broken record now, but I never wanted to leave abroad on a permanent basis. I have always been team visit and come back home. After we got married, my husband subtly kept pushing for it but I wasn’t interested. My tipping point was when I watched the commonwealth games in 2018, saw how beautiful Australia was and most importantly, how even the physically challenged kids were given a chance to be whatever they wanted in a thriving society. It triggered something innate with me and I told my husband I was ready. ECA My husband (PA) had a very smooth ride with his. Nnamdi Azikiwe University and LBS were pretty quick. FUTO wanted to delay my destiny but the God I served finally touched them to let me go after my husband had to physically go to my school to get the transcript sent. It was a terrible 5 month unnecessary wait. IELTS BC first attempt, IDP second and third attempt. I was so excited when we eventually cleared it in December.
ITA Missed the January 10th draws (E pain me sha), clinched on the 23rd. Had our medicals at Q Life on the 13th of March. WORK EXPERIENCE So, we applied as Self Employed Applicants. My husband is the sole signatory to the account. The following documents are what we submitted for this purpose: - All our CAC Documents - The FIRS Tax Registration Document(The paper you are given when you register for FIRS TIN number) - LIRS Tax Documents ( my husband updated his LIRS tax payments) - Screenshot of our website - Screenshot of our Social Media Pages ( Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) - Screenshot of my husband’s LinkedIn page - Invoices and receipts from customers(about 4 each over a 5 year period) - Supplier Invoices and Receipts(about 4 each over a 5 year period) - Screenshot of emails exchanged with clients - References from Customers ( about 4 in total) We didn’t submit our company bank statements (This was done with fear and trembling and I actually expected an ADR for it, but we were not asked for it) NOC Ours was pretty straight forward, NOC 0124 because that is my husband’s core function as the CEO. We didn’t list our duties anywhere, I guess the VO was satisfied with all the documents we submitted. PROOF OF FUNDS Now this was the major tricky part for me. We are a business that needs money constantly to run, we could not afford to pull out all the money for a family of 5 POF. So we got a gift deed from my mum for the full amount a day before we submitted. So we submitted the following: - Notarised Gift deed signed by my mum and dad, witnessed by my husband and I. We scanned it to them after typing they signed and scanned back to us. We signed and notarised it at the high court Igbosere. - Screenshot of Oanda with exchange rate for the day; - A one paged bank statement showing the day the money came into his account. That was all. I was really worried, not sure of this would fly, but we had the money on standby in case they required proof it was still available. MEDICALS This was done at Q-life March 12th or so. We wanted it done close to our submission date.
BIL Got a ghost update for Med Pass/BIL when I just randomly checked our account. We got the mail later in the night. We went for biometrics and spent 5 hours there, good thing was that it showed completed on that same day. WAITING GAME I checked our account twice a day, every day. As soon as they resume and as soon as they are about to close. Raised a CSE but didn’t get a response. Tempted to call sooooo many times, but held myself back. I even wanted to mail Ralph, I just told myself I would save that card for a later time. UPDATE Ended up calling once, raised CSE thrice. I got two generic responses and one actual response that let me know my background was in process on June 28th. We are still waiting for PPR, I always believed we would clinch it 3 months post AOR (everyone thinks this, lol). It happens for some, while it does not happen for some like me who is still waiting. We are still waiting on the Lord and I will keep updating this as I remember. I have never been a patient human, this wait has sent me to different ends of the emotional spectrum. From feeling Zen and all at peace for days and randomly getting stressed and worried about my application ,trying to concoct what documents I should submit to speed up the process. Toddles!
30-07-2019 We are now 218 members in our PPR group 01-09-2019 Baba GOD AM I YOUR ADOPTED CHILD!!! 18-09-2019 I am sick of this wait though, this was not the plan. 24-09-2019 I cave din and sent Ralph an email. He responded same day with Criminality passed, Eligibility and Security not yet started. I quickly rebuked his response and declared it was not for me. 25-09-2019 I have sent a total of 8 Web forms. During this time, progress has gone from background in process/eligibility not started to background in process/eligibility in process. 27-09-2019 Attended night of increase in my church, this year was really one kain, so I just left it all at the altar of God and asked Him to do loads of new things in my life. The Holy Spirit said I should go home and cry no more. 08-10-2019 We caught a ghost update. Yay!!! Progress. 09-10-2019 Refreshed email tire, I no see anything. Continued downloading my Jenifas Diary and slept off mid process. My husband woke me up at 4:30am showing me the email. Saying I was ecstatic is an understatement. I was dazed for a few hours, in shock at what God has finally done. This group helped me immensely, read from part 1 and caught up at Part 5. I learned about all the documents we will need to submit from here too! Thank you so much. Shout out to the best group in the world Feb/Mar AOR. You all are the best and we will celebrate big time soon with everyone. Now the journey begins. |

Huge Congratulations ladymarshall: First, let me say a big thank you for your wishes and prayers since I first announced. I’m so overwhelmed as I type not just because of the happy shock of PPR but also because I never expected the outpouring of love. Thank you. I really appreciate you all.
Second, to those post-AOR awaiting PPR, please check your emails even as you read this script. Golden email can come at anytime like play. Only two nights ago I was so depressed at the thought of CIC, I ate only once, had a sleepless night, woke up yesterday expressing my frustration in group chats early morning until 9.05am and from nowhere, golden email came in at 9.06am. There is hope. |

Wow i am happy for you, Huge Congratulations I pray I will also give my testimony very soon Congratulations once again Torkwase1: PPR IS HERE!!!
LONG, LONG PPR GIST.
This journey started in February 2018. A friend who's in Canada introduced Express Entry to me, tried to convince me to give it a try. He sent me the NOC and WES links. I had always toyed with the idea of leaving Nigeria, but I wasn't really ready, so I didn't do anything immediately. A few days later, I heard one of our colleagues would soon leave with her family to Canada. I said ehn, is it that serious? Then a close friend from Uni left. I started giving EE a serious thought then.
My friend in Canada introduced me to an immigration lawyer that she used, Abrams and Kroschak. Then, I didn't know I could do it myself. That's how I sent 500 dollars to the agency as deposit. Well, they sent me an initial package of ducuments to fill, which I will pay another 1000 dollars before submission, apart from other payments o. Hey God. I don't have this type of money o.
NAIRALAND TO THE RESCUE By a stroke of luck and grace, I stumbled upon the nairaland EE thread. I read several chapters, page by page, and watched YouTube Videos. Then I realized, babe, people are doing this thing themselves o. I sent a mail to the Agent that I'm no longer doing. That's how I lost 500 dollars.
At this time, I had already sent documents for WES evaluation, and in my ignorance, I evaluated both 1st and Masters degree. See ehn, ignorance is costly. By the time I met Nairaland EE thread, I had many regrets, and was eager to learn as much as possible.
IELTS: I didn't practice much for IELTS, never had time and just felt I could handle it. A few days to my test, a friend called and asked me how many tests I've practiced. I said about 6 or 7. He scolded me, said I should have practiced way more than that. I got scared, and tried to squeeze in 3 more tests before the test day. I wrote my test in pencil, answers all in capital letters except for Writing. Thank God it came out great. L- 9 R- 8.5 S- 8 W- 7. 5
First ITA: AUGUST 22. My score was 476. I had to decline this ITA after some weeks cos I couldn't complete my POF. Was to sell off a plot of land, the person who wanted to buy it couldn't pay in time.
MEDICALS: IOM Abuja, pretty straight forward
Second ITA: November 27. Land sold, money paid, everything was ready.
POF: I did a fixed deposit in Fidelity Bank, uploaded FD certificates and added their generic reference letter. I had money in two other accounts, for which I presented statement of results.
AOR: December 11, 2018
VO: Ottawa. I was so happy that my file wasn't going to Accra. My processing will be sharp sharp. Hahahaa!! Ottawa had other plans as I would soon see.
MEP/BIL: January 24
THEN THE WAITING BEGAN. I had joined a post-ITA Telegram group. People started receiving PPR, COPR, and giving landing gist. We were always excited to get the news. I was calm, my time would come soon. If only I knew what CIC had in store. Those with AOR's in the same period as me started getting their PPRs too, I was still stuck in MEP. When I clocked 6 MONTHS in June , I called CIC help centre. They put me on the usual long hold. I didn't know I didn't have enough credit, when the agent said "Your waiting time is 2 minutes", MTN told me, your call credit has been exhausted!!! I Wan cry! Next day, I loaded anough credit, and called again. They said they will check my file, . Another month passed, no show. This time, I was about the only one in the group who didn't have PPR. Kudos to my members, who tried always to cheer me up. 7, 8 months post PPR, I applied for GCMS notes. When they later arrived, everything was fine, no problem anywhere.
SECOND MEDICALS One day, I was with a friend and got an update on my account. We were both excited, thinking PPR had arrived. I opened it to see, MEDICALS! My first test had expired. I broke down in tears that day. I was tired. At that point, I just wanted CIC to say they declined my application, so I'll kukuma stay in Nigeria. Which kain delay be this? Went to IOM, booked an appointment for September 3. Luckily, I was able to get an earlier date after going back to plead with them 'cos I had a trip coming up.
PPR- SEPTEMBER 4, 12:15 AM I was on night duty in the office, when I saw the mail. I wasn't even thinking of CIC again at this point. Lo and behold, READY FOR VISA!!! I screamed, my body started twisting in crazy dance MOVES, I burst out singing "Halleluya Ogo Ni Fun Baba" off key. My colleagues were worried. What is it, what is it, I couldn't talk. At least not yet. They said, come back and focus on your work, I continued my solo singing. If only you know I'll soon leave you guys with this work!!! Even though I did night and closed by 7am, by 10 I was out to submit my Passport at Silverbird.
MY MUM: Initially my mother didn't want me to go. Her worry was, I'm not married yet, it will not be good, I may not get a husband in Canada. Well, what if I stay back and still don't get married in Nigeria? Let me not lose both ways. So I insisted, we prayed, and she's finally cool. But I know at the back of her mind, she still worries.
LESSONS This journey taught be patience. Ha! I had a swift IELTS, I thought everything will be like that. For where. I learnt to accept that there are things I can't control, and I should just let them materialize at their time. I started coaching a few people in IELTS writing and speaking. It's been a bit inconvenient, cos of my work and travel schedule, but it helped take my mind off the wait, and made me feel useful to other people. Now that the Golden Mail is finally here, I am excited to start this new phase of my life. Thank you Nairalanders, this group is a gem. And to imagine it is free. God bless you all. It ended in praise for me, it will for all who are waiting too. |
