I was in UACN. I said I had jumped out with profit. You don't go against the trend. The market is generally bearish. If you're still in profit, jump out now, nobody knows when the bleeding will stop. Compare the monetary value of the unbundling and any dividend with your current profits. Scratch that, jump out NOW as nobody catches a falling knife. Let the market calm down first, then if you're in love with UACN, come back and buy later, at a cheaper price.

I didn't study accounting, neither work in finance.
A friend changed company some years ago. Before that time, monthly, his former company deducts pension contribution. He told me one day that he found out that his company had stopped remitting his contributions over a year, before he got another offer. Meanwhile deductions kept showing on his pay slip. His mistake was that he didn't think anything was wrong when he stopped receiving alerts from his PFA.
What if Unilever declares that they pay tax, but never remits to the relevant agencies? According to Toluway, his own job is to check, which his team did, but found no evidence of remittance. Maybe the taxes are "lost in transmission". Just saying.

You berra go and fine institutional investors for Caverton. At a point, I had about 35% of my portfolio in Caverton. Their results good o, but it seems the institutional investors are not interested in it. I had to gerra out, and join the money to UACN. Tell management to find a way to get the big boys involved.

Kenneth, don't fall in love with a stock. Love it for what you can get from it.
austinkenneth:
Abeg for those of us in SEPLAT, how are we going to get price appreciation with this new NSE rule which requires that a stock will move only if a trade of 100,000 shares is done?

That means, given SEPLAT's price of about N550, only a single trade of more than N550 * 100,000= N55m can move the price!

Given the fact that the stock is relatively thinly traded, N55m in a single trade is hard to come by. it means the price is stuck at the present point.

Have we been trapped by the rules?

Some people are confused right now. Should I jump in on a hot stock or go for another? They think that a stock that has gone up by so much can't go higher. No one can predict the market to a pin-point accuracy.
However, some people believe in naira-cost averaging; buying as the price falls. Before you start averaging down, you need to understand why the share price is tanking:recently released poor results; over-bloated OS; loss of institutional investors; general bearish sentiments, etc. What are the TA folks saying about that stock?
Some smart investors believe you should average-up on a good stock. As the stock price keeps going high, you continue buying. The uptrend in price shows that you made the right choice. It's a validation. That good stock is on its way to deliver a great performance.
I believe you should average up.After Agba first identified UACN here, I tried to gather as much info as I could. I asked questions here, and offline (Mr Biggs has revamped their operations). I started buying at 5 naira. Until my average price is now 7.05 naira. I averaged up. Now I'll wait for UACN management announcement before taking the next decision.
Just my 2 kobo.

Please has anybody in the house visited the revamped Mr Biggs? Whats your experience?
With the border closure, and local farmers being patronized more, the Livestock feeds division should deliver.
